@hadni | ◀ | broom & bat & bludger ❤ Kryss had not a clue as to what exactly was running through Hadni's mind when they were standing that close together. He thought he was just helping out-- no, he knew he was just helping out. His mind was single-track: get the gloves, so she could get back out there and practice, maybe sit around a while. If he had any romantic notions at all for the redhead, at the moment they were hidden away, stuck in one of the little compartments guys' brains were said to have. Women's brains were more suited for multitasking, and were described as a noodle.
"Amazed at how clean we girls can be? It's pretty spectacular, right?" Kryss shook off his preexisting thoughts and chuckled along with her. "I was raised by a single mom, so this was the norm until I first walked in the men's locker room at Hogwarts." He still remembered opening the door, and being inundated by a smell so strong that it felt like it clung to his skin. He didn't realize until now that his mother had indeed been the reason true man-smell was hard to get used to at first. She kept his developing body odor under control like a pro. Other families with more men tended to be different. "But now that I think about it, yeah it's pretty spectacular." In her younger days, his mother could really clean. It was crazy how she would whirl around the house like a tornado, a feather duster in one hand and a toilet brush in the other... she did a cleaning for every season or when a guest was going to come over, which wasn't very often. He got to the bottom of the pile almost the moment she scooted away and held up the leather gloves, sheepishly. "Oh, good, glad they were in here." He straightened up, trying his hardest not to wince too hard in front of her. His back- it still hurt sometimes when he had it bent for too long, a result of the injury that convinced him to retire permanently from professional Quidditch. He hated to spoil the moment but when he was back on his feet again he had to twist from side to side to loosen the muscles in his lower back. "Alrighty. Sure. Let's go back out." |

| ◀ | seeking for nothing ❤ Hadni nodded as he explained that he had seen the cleanliness of his mother long before he knew what boys who played quidditch could be like. "Awe, that must have been a rude awakening," she pretended to shudder at the thought of the Hogwarts boys locker room. She had seen it before, of course, considering that was one of her main snogging locations back in the day. That's what she got for solely dating quidditch players and whatnot. The thought of her memories in that room made her energy level drop a little bit. She bit the side of her lip and spaced out for a moment before he spoke again about being glad that she found the gloves.
"Oh, yeah. Yeah, me too," she half answered him as she held the gloves out in front of her. As he twisted from side to side, seemingly stretching, Hadni raised an eyebrow at him. "Did I keep you down there for too long?" her voice was laced with concern.
She slipped her gloves back onto her hands and grabbed a scarf as well. She also grabbed her snow goggles and placed them on the top of her head, not over her eyes just yet. "Just in case!" she pointed at the goggles before heading out of the locker room and pack toward the pitch.
The snow had really picked up now, but she had played in worse weather.

@hadni | ◀ | broom & bat & bludger ❤ "Not as much of a rude awakening as just an unexpected one. It certainly was a shock, I had never experienced anything like that in my life up until then." Now that he thought about it, Kryss wondered why he had been wholly unprepared. It wasn't like he had never gone to his friends' houses. Perhaps it was because most of them had mothers, and their moms always kept the house nice and tidy, not to mention deodorized. He remembered seeing lots of potpourri when he was younger.
"Oh, no, it's okay. I'm fine." Reading the look of worry on her face, Kryss tried to comfort her as much as he could. It really was nothing. Just a minor inconvenience in that popped up from time to time. "My back does hurt, don't get me wrong, but it's not-- as bad as it used to be." he finished lamely, realizing too late that he had gone the absolute wrong way with that. Ugh. He hoped that she didn't feel too bad over making him kneel. He had done it of his own accord. If he had been truly worried about it, he would have simply sat cross legged on the floor instead of using his knees and part of his lower back.
"Good idea!" Kryss laughed, grinning, as they sauntered out. She really did look good. The goggles would do her good. He wished he had brought his, so he could possibly observe better. He loved the snow- though playing in it could be cold, it was always worth it in the end, and it was funny taking off your shoes and seeing the steam rise. Sometimes, too, if the temperature was cold enough, your hair would get swept behind you and frozen in a clump. But none of that. He wanted to get to know Hadni better. "So, how did you decide that you wanted to be a professional seeker?" He asked, glancing sideways at the redhead. |

| ◀ | seeking for nothing ❤ Hadni nodded to show that she understood what he meant about the boys locker room being more of a little shock then anything else. Well, that made sense considering he had never had brothers or seen that many boys using one space at the same time. Not that it was really important, but she understood what he was trying to say.
At the mention of his back, her look of worry only increased. "How did you injure it?" she asked. Then she shook her head and chuckled nervously, "Gosh, I'm being so nosy. Sorry about that," she bit her lip nervously, but she really was worried about this back injury of his!
When they were back outside, in the cold snow, Hadni was prepared to catch the snitch now. It was probably out there feeling super lonely without someone to chase it! Poor thing. At Krys's question, Hadni smiled and shrugged. "I'll be honest, it's mostly because I have nothing better to do," that was most of the truth. She also did it because Quidditch was the one thing that took her out of her depression a few years back.
"It just feels like home up here, you know?" she added.

@hadni | ◀ | broom & bat & bludger ❤ Just what he hoped wouldn't happen, did- the worry in her eyes increased. He probably should have expected it. She seemed to be the caring type, who would worry and fret over the slightest thing wrong with her friend or friends. Which wasn't a bad thing at all. In fact, it saved lives sometimes. "No, no, it's fine." Kryss smiled gently. It really was okay. She wasn't being nosy; she had no reason to apologize. There wasn't a time in his life he didn't feel comfortable discussing. "My last year playing for the US, some wacko showed up to a mid-year match and jinxed the bludger. Of course who did it come after, but me. I managed to fend it off for a while, as the officials ran around looking for the one causing it. But the bludger finally got me, and I ended up falling twenty feet at seventy miles an hour. I landed on my back, slightly more on the right shoulder than the left. It broke three of my ribs, both clavicles, and back, not to mention messed my muscles up pretty bad.” The healers had said that if he had been any smaller or less athletic, he probably would have died. (Which made him think about the Quidditch accident that had happened his sixth year, the medics at Hogwarts had said nothing about the seeker being close to dead, so either something was different there or it was worse than he remembered). He was so grateful for the degree of care that the doctors had shown him; they had pieced him back together in a matter of days. He was mostly normal now, but he still had to be careful when it came to his back. Sometimes when he got up in the morning, it hurt like a motherbludger.
Nothing better to do, huh? He found himself surprised this time. That wasn't what he had expected her to say. "Hm. I'm not sure if I believe that or not." Kryss found himself being honest with her. To some it might sound a little offensive, but in all actuality he was just trying to be nice. "You really don't have anything else you like to do? I thought you'd have a lot." In addition to being kind, he saw her as someone who certainly excelled at a lot more than playing Quidditch. She probably worked another job on the side, making a little extra cash; everyone loved her there, just as much as he was starting to love her. (Wait. Wut? There was that again. First he had wanted to keep her warm. But nevermind.) "It really does." Leveling out his Firebolt Supreme, he hopped on and followed her up through the now-thick curtain of snow. "Ever since my first flying class..."

| ◀ | seeking for nothing ❤ "Oh. I didn't know you played for US," Hadni commented, her tone still worried. She winced as he explained the incident in detail. "That sounds terrible. To be forced into not playing, and in such a painful way," she pouted a little and took a step forward, placing a hand on his shoulder, but incredibly gently. "Well, I will be sure to look out for that from now on. Maybe I'll go easy on you back out on the pitch," she winked as she was making a little joke before removing her hand and letting go of some of her worry. He was surely sick of people worrying about him
"I..." Hadni chuckled as he called her out on not having anything else to do. "I'm actually quite serious. There is nothing else I really like doing. Unless you can count partying and snogging as marketable skills," she raised an eyebrow, clearly messing with him. But that didn't mean it wasn't true... She really didn't have anything else that she wanted right now.
Hadni nodded as he agreed with her choice of words about flying. "So, what should we do whilst we're up here?" She asked him, turning to face him in the snow.

IDK why, maybe I'm really tired but Kryss is so super duper cute in this post | ◀ | broom & bat & bludger ❤ "Oh! Did I not mention that to you?" Kryss's eyebrows went up a bit, and he scanned his memory banks to recall if he had indeed told her. Perhaps so, perhaps not, really he couldn't remember for absolute sure... "I think I said something about it earlier, but I apologize if it was too brief a mention to stick. Yes, I played professionally for the United States National team for seven years, before I was recruited into the Ministry." Ugh. He shouldn't have gone into so much detail. Now that he thought about it, his explanation did sound extremely painful. It made his back hurt a little just at the mention of that pain. "...And that sounded so terrible. Sorry." He scratched the back of his head, apologetically. "I mean, yeah it was terrible at first, and I hurt a lot, but now looking back I'm really glad that it happened. I love my job now almost more than being a Quidditch player." There were some serious perks to being Head of Magical Games and Sports- he got to make more connections within the sport than ever before, scout for new players, etc. He was going to scout the first game of the year, at Hogwarts, pretty soon, so that was cool. "I mean, you don't have to look after me like that. It doesn't bother me most of the time." He had found ways of coping with the pain, like using other parts of his back and shifting his weight around more often, in slighter increments. "And don't you dare go easy on me on the pitch." Kryss chuckled. "I'm not an old man yet."
"I'm actually quite serious. There is nothing else I really like doing. Unless you can count partying and snogging as marketable skills." Kryss couldn't help it. His smile grew into a mischievous grin. "Well, it could be a marketable skill. Muggle clubs pay people to go and party there sometimes, and attract other clubbers. And I'm sure that there's lots of snogging opportunities to be had." Again the visiblity became worse as they rose up together into the snow. "I don't know... we could fly around and find the snitch I guess." It was probably a totally dumb and definitely totally random idea, but the only one he could come up with.

| ◀ | seeking for nothing ❤ "Oh you probably did mention it, I'm just a bit of a space case at times," she said with an apologetic shrug and a lopsided smile. She really was paying attention to what he was saying... for the most part. It was often hard to function normally when put in a situation with a cute guy. Who could blame her for being a little forgetful?
"Well, I guess it was a blessing in disguise," she added with an encouraging smile. It was gruesome indeed, but at least it got him here. "Okay, okay. I can understand that," she said as he told her not to look after him nor go easy on him. "Oh, I would never think you to be old... how old are you?" she asked, making sure she smiled as adorably as possible just in case he was bound to get offended by that question. He didn't look much older than her, but she didn't think they were exactly the same age either.
When he implied the muggles did often party as a marketable skill, she let her jaw drop and her eyes narrow. "That's the dream job," she said, a little in awe at the concept. She'd never actually do it, though. Quidditch was her life.
"Well, I did release the snitch before you got here. So it's out in this storm. May as well race to find it?" she gave him a split second to register the challenge before speeding off.
