Thanks to a little bit of flirting (okay, maybe a lot) it wasn't hard to get into the Hufflepuff common room. In fact, most people would tell you that it was the easiest common room to sneak into. Even easier when most of the school was on a field trip to some druid island. Nora really, really wanted to go... but Fae insisted that it wasn't safe for them because of the vampire in them. Nora had never once felt ashamed of her nature, even when she was told that druids hated them. Still, it was incredibly annoying to learn that she couldn't go on an adventure.
She, of course, enlisted her twin brother Steve to go explore while there were less people around. Nora inched forward, crouched down as she tried assessed if anyone was coming. "I mean, it's not like many of the Hufflepuffs would care that we were here anyway, but you never know when one or two snitches could show up," she muttered.

▲ Banned from going to the super magical hippie druid island. That was how Steve viewed the fact that he and Nora weren’t allowed to go. It seemed ridiculous, but their mom had made a good point about how they probably wouldn’t have fun if the locals didn’t actively want them there. The only way they would have been able to go was if she could too – apparently her department had sent people, but since Emilia Kolstad was a full-blown vampire, the druid people didn’t want to deal with her at all. Steve didn’t normally get upset at things like that, preferring to keep his cool guy demeanor going, but the fact that they didn’t want his mom there only made him not want to go that much more. Thankfully Nora had an alternative plan to missing out. They were going to sneak into the Hufflepuff common room and try to blend in for as long as possible. Or at least that was what he assumed they were going to do. Steve had already come up with a plan to get themselves out of trouble if it came to that. Mainly how they were only looking for the kitchen, which was somewhere close to the Hufflepuff common room. He was pretty sure he had been there in the last year, but there were so many fun adventures in the castle that they all got muddled together. “They’ll probably give us cookies or something,” Steve tacked onto the end of his sister’s comment. “Maybe ask us about our feelings too.” Though honestly, the Hufflepuffs he knew were pretty good people. It was sort of strange - in his opinion - that he and Nora weren’t in that house. Gryffindor definitely fit their more adventurous side but he didn’t particularly view his follies as bravery. “Wonder if we could get away with staying here all weekend. How many detentions do you think that would get us?”@nora ● 323 ● Waterloo by ABBA MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Steve suggested that the Hufflepuffs would give them cookies or something and she scoffed, then laughed. Asking about their feelings, too? "Oh, god no," she muttered, shaking her head. Nora was open about things with her brothers but few others. Granted, she hadn't really opened up just yet about how annoying it was to not be on the trip with all of their friends. Steve was thankfully usually willing to go about and have some distractions whenever the occasion called for it. Still, she was not doing as well at masking her annoyance (and sadness) as she wished she could be. He asked if they could get away with staying there all weekend and she smirked, straightening up as she assessed that there was only two or so students heading toward the common room. They didn't even stop her and her brother as they walked right in. Nora immediately noted the many snacks shelving one of the walls, she turned to Steve with a smirk. "You know what? We should stay here all weekend. We can take empty beds, or just crash on the couches," she giggled and moved to link her arm through his. "Let's go steal some robes," she whispered, then she shrugged, "as for the detentions, those are sometimes more exciting that sitting around anyway."@steve

▲ “What’s wrong with cookies?” he asked incredulously. That was absolutely something a Hufflepuff would do. With their proximity to the kitchen, he couldn’t recall the last time he didn’t see a badger with some sort of goody sticking out of the cloak pocket or bag. Steve wasn’t completely new to the basement level of the castle. He often tried to sneak into the kitchens after meals, while other students were still milling about the castle, to get a couple extra warm cookies or a mug of hot chocolate. It was the little things that made him enjoy going to school here. The classes, while interesting, took too much of his attention away from the fun stuff. Why go to school if it wasn’t entertaining? All of the newspaper articles he had read about Hogwarts in the lead up to attending absolutely made it seem like the place to be. Nora agreed that they probably could pull off staying in the common room all weekend, even offering the idea to take Hufflepuff robes. That would really seal the deal. “Wait, I kind of like my bed though,” he stopped. “But we can definitely take their ties and stuff. Pretend we’re them. I doubt any of the ones still here have the ability to turn us away or tattle.” He figured that was a fair assessment of their friendly fellows. Detentions weren’t that big of a deal either. All they had to do was flub their way out of it if it came to that. It wasn’t like the school could make them do anything during the day, since that would severely expose them to the sun. “True. Have to make the most of these last few months before we’re boring, working people like mom and dad,” Steve stated. That was going to suck, but at least there were plenty of semi-interesting jobs out there that he could snag. @nora ● 317 ● Harvest by ASKII MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
