Today things would be a little bit different for his students especially those in fifth and sixth year. They would be having class together today. He wanted to teach them Several spells today. The class was just after lunch, so after leaving the Great Hall Walton only had one flight of stairs to go up and then down a long corridor, that had many portraits on the walls. Some tried to talk to him as he passed by them, but he didn't feel like stopping and talking, for he had a class to teach. Once he got to his classroom, he took out his wand and cleared away half of the desks in the room to give them some room to practice spells. Walton loved giving practical lessons, as he felt that the students learned more. But at the beginning of each class he would take a few minutes to explain what they would be doing and also any important theory or information about what they would be learning that day. Today he would test them on what they had learned the previous year. And he also had the idea of asking them if there was anything in particular that they would like to learn. Normally he had a planned out lesson, but not today. He thought it would be quite interesting to see how the sixth and fifth years interacted, and if it went as well as he hoped that it would, he might just have the students from each year have a few more combined classes this year. One of his main goals was to have the sixth years help the younger students learn the spells that he was going to teach them this year. Walton then walked up to the table at the front of the room. Once there he turned around and leaned up against it as he waited for his students to come in since he could hear them coming down the corridor to his class. lily luna potter @amelia @kay2 @xapon Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Lien Hua was practically bouncing down the hall. No, scratch that, she was bouncing down the hall, singing brightly and quiet audibly, much to the chagrin of people around her - at least she was moving pretty fast, so they weren't around her long? "Hold on, we got our wings and we're chasing the wind," she sang, pretty spot on with her tune. Not... that anyone appreciated it still, flouncing through the hall, hair, robe, and bag at her side flopping up and down with her, voice bouncing off the stone and causing some portraits to send her ridiculously grumpy looks. It wasn't as if she was being horrid!! It was good singing, didn't anyone appreciate that?? "And if it takes us all night long, we're going back where we belong..."
Unfortunately, right when she was about to hit the awesome part of the song - the bridge, the glorious glorious briiiiidge - Lien Hua hit the classroom, instead. Annoying, but okay, whatever! It was a good class! She liked defense, but even if she hadn't, she'd still greet the teacher with a gleaming smile from ear to ear, and a bright greeting, which... she did now. "Hiya, Professor!" she announced cheerfully, stepping in and surveying the classroom brightly, rocking back on her heels. They were with the fifth years today, right? So... why were there less desks? Eh - she didn't feel like counting to see whether or not there were enough. Wasn't like it mattered much.
"Should I sit, or are we gonna be moving around anyway, so just stay standing?" Lien Hua directed her question at the pretty awesome professor, blinking brightly over at him - he was like. Totally not that much taller. Much? Not taller. Nope. Nope. She refused to acknowledge any minor discrepancies in height. She was like the tallest ever.
Hopefully they'd be moving around, though! She really liked it when they were active and moving and just. Going going going versus sitting and taking notes. Ew. But it looked like the former was going to occur, fabulous!

Defense Against the Dark Arts. That was the ideal class for Joffroi, since Joffroi was one who took silent revelation in those exciting yet rather dangerous things, which was why he wanted to be a Hit Wizard after graduation. In this class, he would learn how to deflect curses and dark magic. Of course, it wasn't like he expected to have dark curses hurled at him in every corner, but it was still thrilling to put himself in a position of a person who was going to be attacked, and that he would have to think fast to protect himself.
Therefore you could say that this class was one of his favorites, and whoever as teaching it better be a competent professor. Luckily for him Professor Grey was alright, but he was still subjecto to Joffroi's scrutiny, and one little mistake or slip would send him cascading down the Slytherin boy's value scale. But so far, he was safe from being subjected to such humiliation--well, at least, humiliation in Joffroi's eyes.
He made his way calmly, like usual, to the classroom. And sadly, he was walking behind a Hufflepuff named Lien Hua, a girl who he silently grew a dislike for. Not that he had a personal grudge against her. It was just that he had a natural irritation towards loud and overly giddy people, and Lien Hua was definitely one of them. There wasn't much he could do about it, though, for no rule in Hogwarts restricted her from freely expressing herself. Joffroi tried to ignore it and look in another direction. Sadly, his eyes kept on reverting back to the bouncing girl. And it wasn't with kindness in him. His eyes were ever so cold and frosty, and he was biting his lower lip to keep himself from exploding.
But anyway, he entered the classroom after her. He glanced in the professor's direction and was about to give him a curt greeting, but his eyes cut back to Lien Hua when she asked him the question. The Slytherin arched an eyebrow. As curious as he was to the answer of her question, he thought that they usually were supposed to sit down, listen to whatever Profressor Grey decided to talk to them about, and get up and move around whenever he instructed them to do so. Or something like that--at least, it involved just sitting down first and waiting for him to give instructions instead of badgering him for them before class even started. That was what Joffoi was aware of.
The professor would be a bad one if it took his students to grapple him for answers about the day's curriculum instead of him properly instructing them what to do once they were all seated, Joffroi thought cynically. But he knew that wasn't the case, so he simply moved past Lien Hua toward a wall to the right, because once he got a glimpse into the room he realized that the desks were cleared away somewhere. Okay, so they were going to be practicing something, and Joffroi was anxious to know. But at least he would wait until everyone was inside the room so that the professor could address all of the officially without wasting his breath. Once he reached the wall, Joffroi leaned his back against it and crossed his arms, waiting for others to come in. Sooner or later they'd know what they were supposed to do.

Honestly, any event that was going to force herself to be surrounded by a swarm of students who she did not know well was bound to be disliked by her. It wasn't that she was anti-social. The problem was that she was extremely shy, so being put together with all these different peers gave her a level of anxiety, and a sense of fear that she would catch their attention--in a mocking way, too, because she tended to do things that ended up with her getting made fun of instead of impressing people.
But on the brighter side, she did well in classes. Being a Ravenclaw ensured that she was academically intelligent, and learning in classes was one thing that she felt competent at doing. Therefore, all hope was not lost, and she was eager to make it to her classes so she could learn something new. All she just needed to do was sit in the back, and, ideally, next to a good friend, and silently listen to the Professor speak or did as he or she instructed her to without causing a fuss that would cast all eyes upon her.
She was making her way as quietly and inconspicuously as possible. Leonore couldn't be one-hundred percent invisible, though. She would've been happy to walk in the back of the crowd, but she had no choice but to walk in the middle. So she was doing her best to not do anything out of the ordinary that would suddenly catch the attention of the other students. And so far things were alright. No one was heeding her any mind, and she focused upon walking while clutching her books against her.
Leonore was staring with wide eyes at a bouncing and singing Hufflepuff girl, who, instead of being cautious and quiet like her, was really being the center of attention. The Ravenclaw didn't know where her classmate Lien Hua got her bravery and pluck from. That was a very bold and audacious thing to do, being vocally loud and physically upbeat. It was a sure guarantee of attracting unwanted attention, and sure enough, there were people snickering and rolling their eyes at her. Leonore would've died a cruel death before she did anything that caused people to laugh behind her back. Or, at least, not if she could help it.
Anyway, she entered the classroom after Joffroi. When she stepped inside, she glanced at the professor and smiled shyly. She gave him a demure nod before she was about to headtoward the desks in the back of the room. The back of the room was where she usually sat, of course. That way, few people would notice her presence, and the less attention she drew upon herself, the better. But, this time there were no desks, so instead, Leonore walked toward an isolated spot by the wall, hoping that she would not catch any attention as she did so.

Scorpius waltzed into Defense class ready for anything. He loved this class, he had since his first year and he most certainly excelled in it. He was a master at spells, especially the more difficult ones. He was more than happy to help his fellow classmates as well. He walked in and waved the Professor Walton, sitting right next to Joffroi Marshall. The two were on the Quidditch team together and Scorp thought he was a pretty decent kid. A little strange, though. Scorp didn't know him too well because he was in a different house and Seekers didn't really work with the rest of the time that much. He still agreed that Chasers were important to the team, of course, but he didn't get to know them that well. The beaters really looked out for the whole team so Scorp knew them a little better.
He sat next to Jeff and smiled, "Kind of cool having a combined class, huh?" he asked the fifth year.
Soon, he flipped around and waved to Leonora. That girl was incredibly pretty, and in his year. He winked at her as he turned to the front again, "Hey Williams," he called to the girl with a twinkle in his eye, "Maybe don't knock me off my broom with your bludger this year, please and thank you." He chuckled. The girl was one heck of a beater and he really respected that.

Late. Absolutely positively late!
Lily's entire appearance showed the fact that she was obviously running for very far behind and was not pleased by it. Her ponytail was crooked, her robes were all but falling off, and her bag kept slipping off her shoulder as she ran head long down the hallways. She all but flew around the corner almost knocking a couple of shocked second years over in her haste.
"Sorry!" She called back apologetically as she checked her watch again. According to it she was running almost fifteen minutes behind meaning class would be starting and she'd have to sneak in unseen or risk losing house points. Frantically she bolted down the last hallway before skidding to a halt outside of the classroom out of breath and looking like she might have just run a marathon. She was catching her breath as another student walked lazily up, looked at her oddly, and then just walked into the classroom like it was no big deal. Lily stood there shocked for a moment wondering how anyone could look so at ease when they had just lost their house points until yet another student walked past looking at their watch and smiling as they went.
She craned her neck to see the other students watch and froze, it read ten minutes until class started! No that couldn't be right, her own watch read that she was late! She glanced down at it again making sure it was still working when she noticed a tiny set of W's at the very center and it all clicked. Fuming Lily turned her wrist over and snatched the joke watch off her wrist, this was a watch that would always read fifteen minutes fast no matter how many times you reset it -- it was a stupid little joke watch from her uncles shop. It would show the correct time the first couple times you looked at it but the minute you got distracted it would set itself fifteen minutes fast and you'd freak out. The product was a lesser one from the store that not many people bought and obviously Hugo or Louis had gotten their hands on one. She was going to kill those boys the minute she saw them! Tossing it to the ground she kicked it away with a huff and a glare.
Straightening her robes Lily marched into class a scowl on her face before she went straight for a seat in the back. Screw this class, she just wasn't in the mood now and hopefully no one would bug her today. Slamming her stuff on her desk she set it up for class before pulling out her wand and tapping it angrily against her wrist causing a few small red sparks to fly as she waited for class to begin and end hopefully soon after.

Walton had folded his harms by now as he waited for his students to enter. He almost questioned his sanity, teaching both fifth and sixth years at the same time. But then yet again this is what he did for a living being sane or as sane as you could classify someone who was part of the International Aurors. The first student that came into the classroom was Lien Hua who greeted him brightly “Hi to you too.” He loved this girl’s enthusiasm that was ever present during every single class. "Should I sit, or are we gonna be moving around anyway, so just stay standing?" Now that was a good question. “You can remain standing or sit on one of the benches that are around the room.” Walton answered the question with a simple wave of his hand and all of the desks disappeared and were replaced by benches around the room and those that were in said desks were moved to sit on benches. The next couple of students to enter were Joffroi Marshal, and Leonore Wolfe. The look that he saw in Joffroi’s eyes was a cold one as they were fixated on Lien Hua. Apparently the boy did not like her and her happy/giddy attitude. Well maybe he would just go ahead and pair them up today, and see what came of it. Leonore, a shy girl who constantly was apologizing for the mistakes that she made, but she was an extremely good student. Today Walton’s aim was to fix that, for he had a surprise up his sleeve for the class. He would be having a seventh year come and help teach the class today. It just so happened to be Ronan Finnigan, one of his best students. And he was quite sure that Ronan would be able to help Leonore out, especially after Walton had seen how they interacted the other day out by the lake. He nodded to the two students as they were moved towards the wall sitting on the benches that had been conjured. And then entered Scorpius Malfoy a good kid and very skilled at Defense Against the Dark Arts. Now this kid would be a good help with what Walton had in mind for today since he was good at spells, especially the more difficult ones. And then there was the wink towards Leonore which made Walton chuckle, as he thought about what would happen if Ronan had seen that. It was going to be a fun class with both of them in the same room. Next came in Lily Potter, and with her came her temper, apparently she wasn’t happy about something, well that would change here very soon. Walton looked around at the students there and checked his watch and he decided to get the class started for today, the others would just have to play catch up. And if he was not mistaken he could hear Ronan in the hall chuckling silently, and it was most likely because of Lily’s temper. “Welcome to this combined class everyone. First things first, as you have noticed there are no desks, because today will be a practical lesson, and I will not be the only one to be teaching you today. I have asked a seventh year to help you out today.” Walton addressed the class before adding. “Stop your laughter Ronan and get in here, it is rather rude to keep others waiting.” He said in a supposedly strict tone. He was one of the more relaxed professors at the school, because you won’t learn anything if you are not having fun. “First we will be teaching you the patronus charm and then you will all practice it. Now who can tell me what the patronus charm is and what are it’s uses?” Walton asked the class at large while he pulled out his own wand in preparation of showing them a fully fledged patronus. @joffroi @iseult @crystal4 @amelia @mathieu @lestrange @scorp @leera holly proserpina mcgonagall Rozalina Antonina Nightshade @lien @leonore @ronan

Of course he was the one to get picked to help teach the fifth and sixth year Defense Against the Dark Arts class. He did not even mind it one bit, actually he kind of relished the opportunity to teach. It was something that he was going to need especially if he was going to be running a secret group, Phoenix Rising, a group that he and Sammy agreed to start up. Ronan had been told by Walton or Professor Grey, as he was supposed to refer to him as even though he rarely ever did so. He had been watching all of the students enter the classroom, all of them he knew to some extent and most of it was related to Quidditch, but he knew them and most of them hated him for his skill as a chaser since he was one of the best in the school. When he saw Leonore enter the classroom, his breath hitched a little bit at the sight of her, and now he was putting two and two together and he knew at least one of the reasons why Walton had asked him to come and help teach, it was most likely to help Leonore get over her shyness, and not worry about screwing up.
Ronan couldn’t help but laugh as he saw Lily Potter, who was kind of like a little sister to him since he and James tended to spend a lot of time together, come running up the corridor and come to an abrupt halt before the classroom and get all flustered and angered by how people were walking past her without being concerned about the time. It was supposedly ten minutes before class, and yet she was flustered as he watched Lily look at the watch that she was wearing and throw it to the ground and kick it. Ah an amateur prank, that amused him a little bit since it was most likely one of her cousins who had done that. He wandlessly summoned the watch and looked at and grinned as he saw the famous WW in the center of it.
Ronan couldn’t help but laugh as he got near the classroom door. “Stop your laughter Ronan and get in here, it is rather rude to keep others waiting.” That sobered him up quickly, and he went ahead and walked in casually like he had lost his way. “Sorry about that Professor, I think I might have gotten lost on my way here.” Ronan said as he gave a mock salute to Walton and then he turned and sent a wink towards Lily, before he went over to a place near a window and leaned up against it, with his eyes looking over all of the students in the room and his eyes finally rested on Leonore as he listened to Walton talk about the patronus charm. He already knew about it and how to cast it. He lazily pulled flicked his wrist and his wand appeared in it a moment later. Ronan was now ready and he could not wait to do one of the things that he loved the most.

While Joffroi was leaning against the wall and waiting for other students to file in so that the class could start already, one of his housemates and fellow Quidditch team member approached his side and stood beside him. It was Scorpius Malfoy, the Seeker who was only a year above him. Joffroi honestly didn't know a lot about Scorpius, but Joffroi did have a respect for his position as a team mate, especially the one who they depended on to win the game for them. He was also a Slytherin, which most likely mean that he was ambitious and level-headed.
Joffroi merely shrugged at his comment. "Yeah, I guess so," he said idly. He didn't really think much about having a combined class. The other sixth years would just be other students close to his age, and they would all be learning whatever Professor Grey was going to toss at them. Although, Joffroi was somewhat curious about the fifth years were going to do with the sixth years if he was combining them in one class. Again, Defense Against the Dark Arts was his favorite class. He was always excited to know what unique defensive things they would be learning.
Apparently Lily the grumpy redhead marched into the classroom looking rather angry about something. Joffroi glanced at her idly, wondering what was her deal. Gryffindors, they were easily emotional and so uncontrolled. That often led them to think with their fists before they thought with their brains. It was rather annoying.
The professor began to speak and Joffroi kept his eyes on Professor Grey as he did. He lifted an eyebrow when he heard that a seventh year was going to be helping them for this class, and this made him wonder who this seventh year was and what they were going to be doing that required the help of someone older. His eyes moved to the door when the professor scolded Ronan Finnigan for standing there laughing while they were waiting for him to come in. Joffroi respected Ronan for being a Quidditch player, but right now he was not impressed with the way the Gryffindor conducted himself. He fought the urge to roll his eyes before glancing back at the professor.
The professor told them what they were going to be learning in the class, and his eyes brightened up with interest now. The patronus charm? That was an important one indeed, and it seemed like many years from now when he could finally learn about it. But now he was going to do so today, and Joffroi was more than eager to. His hand shot up in the air when the professor asked his questions. "A patronus charm is used as a defensive spell, Professor, one of the most powerful known to wizardkind," he said. "It is primarily used as a defense against dark creatures such as lethifolds and dementors, but one's patronus could also be used as a messenger as well."

Raj was not good at Defence Against Dark Arts at all. He had gotten A's in all of his tests and there was no bright future in him improving unless he got a tutor or finally realised the state of mind a student had to be in to perform the spells. To be honest, Raj did not like duelling or harming anyone. Whenever he tried to cast a spell he did not believe in or felt bad for casting, the spell never turned out to be good. He was a peaceful person, and the only single thing he had been good at was a shield charm and healing.
So when the professor began the class after most of the students had entered, Raj pushed his glasses further up his nose while looking at the man from his seat on the bench along the wall. The boy had both his book and his wand ready, not knowing what they were going to do today. But from hearing the question a housemate of his, Lien Hua Williams, he realised that he was not the only one. To his dismay, the professor replied that they could do whatever they wanted, which indicated that it would indeed be a practical lesson. Raj swallowed and stood up, hoping that they would not duel each other.
Fortunately for him, the man started the class by talking about the patronus charm. Raj's eyes grew wide with interest. He has read about it in the book he had bought for this class. And glancing sideways at Joffroi who answered the question with the exact words that went through Raj's mind a small smile formed on the young boy's soft mouth.
”It takes form of an animal... A spirit guide unique to the caster that is conjured from your most positive feelings.” Raj added and looked at the professor through his glasses.
His heart started racing. The boy hoped that he would learn to cast a patronus before the exit of his seventh year. So starting now was absolutely excellent. He knew that it was a very difficult spell to cast, and he did not expect anything from him. But if only he could conjure a ray of light, then he would be happy. Even though he could not help wondering what shape his patronus would take in its full form.
