Marcia didn't often cry, but there were a few exceptions.
She didn't know how they found out where she was. They were in prison, she was happily living with a lovely older couple in London, attending Hogwarts. She didn't know the rumors surrounding Slytherin house, and she was rather excited to be sorted into a house known for it's cunning, ambition and resourcefulness. In fact, she was still proud as any Slytherin should be. Still, the creeping and looming feeling of her dark parents festered inside her on occasion, and that's when she needed a break.
She wrote a letter to her adoptive parents, that always cheered her up, and made her way to the owlery. What she found there was... less than pleasant. Her owl was missing. She hadn't sent her off for anything. She leaned against the wall, deciding to wait a moment, maybe she was just out for a little flight. She waited a half hour, two hours, nothing.
Finally, she decided to give up and come back later, but the worry was getting worse.
---
The next day Marcia went up to the Owlery early in the morning and, thankfully, Cassia was back. "Cass! Where have you be-" she stopped, noticing a letter attached to the owls leg. She took a step forward, then another, until Cass came to her, landing on her arm. "Thanks..." she muttered absentmindedly as she took the letter, letting Cass fly off before looking at the front.
It simply said her name. No return address or otherwise. She opened it, not even reading the words before her eyes landed on who it was from. Choked as she saw the signatures.
Her eyes widened and started to feel moist. Not with love, not with excitement, but with horror. Her parents had written her from wizard prison.
