Andy still hadn't told Phil about her and Judes break up. This was something that she had been meaning to tell him, but for some reason she had been hesitating. Why? Phil was her best friend, why did she feel weird telling her that everything with Jude was over? Jude was clearly a phase, nothing like someone Andy would want to have as a boyfriend long term, but that didn't mean the break up didn't suck as much as any other in the world. Jude and Andy had pretty much fought the entire three weeks they were dating, but they had some pretty great times too. Phil was always in the middle of it though, since he was so close to both of them. What would he think? What would he do? Would he choose Jude over her? What a terrible thought. No, he would be mature about this... even though Andy was sure that she and Jude wouldn't not be. It was around nine pm on her second night at the Longbottom home in the Leaky Cauldron. She had been doing a little exploring and had stumbled on an amazing greenhouse. Phil must have spent a lot of time here, right? As she walked through the plants, she stopped at the site of a batch of growing mistletoe. She flashed back to that morning, her awkward running with Phil under the kissing plant. She felt her lip curl into a smile for a moment, but quickly pushed that aside.

Phil had been out in the greenhouse since dinner had ended. He had done the dishes and then snuck outside to be alone. He loved his family, and he was glad Andy and Aurora were staying with them. But that many people made for a full house, and not a whole lot of personal bubble space. He was sitting on a stood next to a potted vine that twisted up a pillar and was just starting to spread over the ceiling. He should trim that soon. A book lay open in his lap, the current page telling of the uses for dittany in potions, the proper care and feeding, and how it could be used to heal minor wounds. He turned a page, looking at the next plant. his ear twitched as the door to the greenhouse opened. Trying to suppress his disappointment that someone had found his hiding place, he closed his book. The stool was pushed back to it's spot, scraping against the floor. He tucked the book under his arm and walked along the length of a table. When he came out from behind the pillar he expected to see his dad, maybe Jaden. Who he was not expecting to see was Andy. He froze and his eyes widened as he saw what she was fingering. The mistletoe. Suddenly, thoughts of their brush in the hall this morning rushed back to him. The sent of her hair, her eyes looking into his, how close they were in the doorway. He dropped his book.

Andy heard something, the sound of wood scraping the floor. She clasped her wand in her pocket. Then, she whipped around, her wand in her hand in seconds at the sound behind her. When she saw Phil she let out a breath of relief. "Do you always sneak up on people in Greenhouses, Phil?" she asked, her tone a little breathless. Growing up in the house she had, people thinking she and her sister were murderers, and everything else that had been going on... needless to say Andy was a little bit paranoid. She pocketed the wand and held her ground, smiling a little at him. "I'm guessing most of these plants are your doing. I've seen the way you are at school," she did a faux eye roll, leaning back a little so both of her hands were clutching the tables edge. "It's a pain keeping up with you in herbology class," she finished. She looked down at her feet for a moment, suddenly interested in the shape of her shoes and not at all interested in the last time she saw Phil. In the stairway, under the mistletoe. In that moment where it seemed they were entirely alone. Oh no, she thought, looking back up at him. Now they were entirely alone.

The book lay with some of it's pages folded on the ground. He bent down to pick it up. As he stood, he looked at Andy. The moon was shining in a window behind her and the green glass distorted the light, creating a small halo around her head. She looked beautiful. Just as beautiful as she had that morning. "Excuse me, I was in here first, you are the one sneaking up on people and making them drop books." He walked over to her and set the book down on the table next to her hands, which happened to be the only clear spot on the entire table. He thought about holding her hand, grabbing it right now and just holding it. But he wouldn't do that. She was dating Jude. His friend. He wouldn't hurt a friend like that. Instead he stepped back and leaned against the opposite table. "Well when you grow up with the Herbology professor you learn a thing or two." She glanced down and then back up at him. She was looking right at him. He felt his cheeks redden a bit and his heart pump a little faster. "Uh, so, um. Most of this, uh, greenhouse is my stuff. Well my dad takes care of stuff here too, but I have kind of taken over it. I grow all sorts of things in here, some for my mum and the leaky cauldron and stuff. Some just for fun. But, uh, my dad does the really cool stuff. " He started talking more, his eyes darting around, looking anywhere but at her. He felt his chest constrict. Why was this so difficult? She was his friend right? He should be able to just talk to her. Besides she was dating someone else. But then he remembered this morning again, how isolated he had felt. Just she and him in the doorway. His mom and dad had not been watching, Jayden hadn't been sniffling in the corner, and it had been just the two of them. Then his eyes rested on hers. It was just the two of them now. No one else was in here. Just Andy and Phil. He opened his mouth to continue his speech, but nothing came out. So he just closed his mouth, still looking at her.

As Phil crossed over to set the book down beside her hand, Andy held her breath. She looked up at him, one eyebrow slightly raised and her eyes open a little wider than normal. She didn't let out the breath she was holding until he moved back, leaning against the table across from her. Still, they were pretty close. The room was so full of plants there wasn't much room for human bodies.
As his eyes darted about the room, Andy took the opportunity to catch her breath. Okay, this was the time when she needed to tell him about Jude. There's no way Jude would have told him, he just wasn't like that. Jude would have just made Phil figure it out on his own. She smiled, a fake smile, as he talked about the Greenhouse, "Yeah... cool..." but she was too distracted to put her heart into it.
Finally, she looked back at him at the same moment he opened his mouth but closed it again. She bit her lip. "Jude and I broke up," she said, her voice soft, unsure. She thought back to that night and hoped her eyes weren't getting misty. "He kind of turned 'pureblood' into an insult, actually," she said, a slight scoff in her voice.

"Jude and I broke up."His eyes widened just a bit. When had they broken up? She said it so quietly, did she want him to know? But the instant the words were out of her mouth he felt a huge weight had lifted off of his shoulders. If they had broken up... What did that mean for him? How did Jude make Pureblood into a dirty word? And why would he do that to Andy? Why would he hurt Andy like that? Phil didn't understand. He had never understood the pain that others inflicted on people, sometimes just because they could. All the crazy stuff that had happened this year had been beyond anything he had ever seen. He had heard of things like this happening, but that was before he had even been born. And now it was happening to Andy. Someone he loved. He reached a hand out, he hesitated for a moment before grasping her arm. "I'm sorry, Andy" That was lame, but what else could he say? He wanted to comfort her, but did she need or want it? His other hand hovered slightly, unsure.

She wasn't surprised when his eyes widened, and that it took him a moment to respond. She waited, though, not wanting to interrupt his thought process. Soon his hand was on her arm and she leaned into it, biting her lip again as he said that he was sorry. "It's... it's okay," she said, pushing off the table and into him, wrapping her arms around his torso in a hug. She stayed there for a moment, relishing in his warmth, his smell, his soft shirt. She felt a laugh starting to bubble in her stomach, an odd reaction but one that came out as she laughed, turning her forehead into his chest.
"I'm glad it's over, really. I mean, you saw how it was..." he had been there for most of it. Jude was always outside smoking, avoiding people and expecting Andy to be anti social with him. Not that she was bad at being anti social, not at all, but he wasn't even nice about it. He expected it. And if she didn't follow, he just wouldn't care. Talk about an oxy moron. He wasn't expecting her to hug him, but the instant she was against his chest, his arms wrapped around her. He held her tightly and leaned his head down, his lips pressing into the top of her head. It just felt natural. So he didn't pull away. When she laughed, he loosened his arms a little, but she just readjusted her head. He rested his cheek on her hair. "He is a good friend, but honestly, you didn't seem very happy with him." he said truthfully. He didn't know if that was something that was okay to say, but it was how he had been feeling since they had started dating. Well a part of how he had been feeling. Really he hated that they were together. Yeah, Jude was a cool guy, but he wasn't right for Andy. Andy needed someone more grounded and sure of himself. Someone who could give her the support she needed, and Jude definitely didn't do that. Who would she be good with? His only thought on that questions was him. He lifted his head. As he thought about her more, he realized he wanted to be her boyfriend. He wanted to support her. He wanted to be with her, kiss her, hold her hand. Did he love her? Yeah, of course he did, she was his friend. But maybe... maybe it was more than that. Looking down at her he felt something boil in his stomach, a kind of excitement he couldn't control. He just wanted to kiss her. Lover:@lestrange

As he spoke about her unhappiness with Jude, she leaned back slightly, looking up at him. "I'm sorry you had to be in the middle of that," her eyes were wide now, she realized, as she contemplated how close they were standing. What was she thinking!? She was literally talking about another guy with him. She blinked once, twice, until she finally was able to step back.
But when she did, her hand brushed against a plant on the table beside her. She turned her head to look. It was that blasted mistletoe again. She gasped pulling her hand away from it before looking back over at Phil. She felt out of breath, constricted. Suddenly, her mind flashed back to that moment in the Room of Requirement. That moment when she had just found out she was leaving her parents and was playing her violin madly, trying to sort out her many emotions. He was there, suddenly, and his arms were around her. She sobbed into them. She had never hugged anyone in her life until that moment.
"Phil I-" she cut herself off, but didn't turn away from him. Instead, she wrapped her fingers around the mistletoe and pulled a piece off, apart from the rest. She, all while still looking at him, held the plant out in her hand, right in front of her, as if offering it to him.
She had no idea what she was doing when she suddenly dropped the mistletoe and was rapidly closing the distance between them. Lover: @philiplongbottom

He had almost convinced himself to do it. He almost did. Then she pulled away. His heart deflated, sinking to the bottom of his chest. He tried not to let the devastation of that simple action show. So he started talking. "Well, it was mostly just hard to watch you. Watch you be so unhappy, I mean. I didn't mind watching you. I mean being with you. I mean being around you." he jerked his head slightly to the side, stopping the gush of words that threatened to pour out of his mouth. Not cool, Phil. He thought his humiliation was complete but then she started to talk. "Phil, I--" I what? What was she going to say? He didn't know, and the thought was quickly chased from his mind as she held a leaf out to him. For a moment he was confused as to what she was holding. But only a moment, then he recognized the plant. Mistletoe. The plant that kept popping up. His gaze moved from the mistletoe to her eyes as she dropped it out of her hand. The small green leaf drifted lazily to the ground, but Phil didn't notice when it hit. Because the moment it was out of her hand she was rushing toward him. Of their own accord, his arms enveloped her even as her momentum brought her forward. He brought his forehead to hers, touching barely, yet 10,000 volts of electricity seemed to spark from that touch. "Andy, I think I'm going to kiss you." he said without a second guess. Then he did just that. lover:@lestrange

Though he spoke normally, his sentence seemed to break down in her mind."Andy-" her name sounded different. It sounded like a happy sound, something she hasn't experienced before. At least not in the way it did now. "I think-" Andy didn't think, she knew. She knew she was about to kiss Phil, and she wasn't even a little scared. She was ready for it. "I'm going to kiss you." she tilted her head up toward his, letting his lips find hers. She pushed into the kiss, lifting her heels slightly in order to bring her lips more to his level.
Everything froze, yet everything was set in motion. Her life has always been so uniform, so cold, so unloving. Jude had been fun, of course. She had liked him too, but it was the same old thing. She was in a bad situation, she knew it, but she was used to being treated like that. Not that Jude was the only one who was cruel. She was too. But, this was an entirely different feeling. This was warm, affectionate, sweet. She felt something rise up in her stomach, something she didn't know how to explain. People had mentioned it before, happiness. She has experienced brief moments of it. But nothing like this. Nothing like Phil.
She didn't know how long his arms were around her, his lips on hers.

Their lips touched, and any hesitation vanished. He had been uncertain as to how he had felt, now he knew. He knew that the feeling he had, it was real. He didn't know if he had the right words for it yet. Maybe he was just afraid to say them, but he would say them, eventually. She was like nothing he had ever had in his life before. Home was quite and pleasant for the most part. School nearly the same. But Andy was so different. Strong and determined, he could feel her determination right now. After a while, he didn't know how long, he pulled away slightly. His eyes found hers and a huge smiled spread across his face. He wanted to say something to her, wanted to speak about what had just happened. But even as he searched for the words, he realized that he didn't need them. Words were only one way of communicating. He kissed her once more, then pulled her into a hug. Muse: I Lose MyselfLover: @lestrange

Andy leaned into him as he pulled away to stop kissing her, her eyes still closed for a moment before fluttering them open to be greeted with that smile. She felt herself let out a little breath, almost a giggle, as she smiled back. Then he was kissing her again, gentler this time, before wrapping his arms around her in a hug. She turned her head to the side, laying it against his chest and tightening her own grip on him. After a moment she started chuckling again, biting her lip to try and stop the sound.
Then she pulled back, keeping her arms around his neck and looking up into his eyes. "Phil, I really care about you. A lot," she started, her eyes sparkling with someone she hadn't really experienced before and didn't know how to explain. "But this is completely crazy," she added, even though she was still smiling. It really was though! They lived together, almost were brother and sister, in a way. But hadn't they lived together at school for six years? How different could it be?

Her head rested against his chest, and in that moment, he could have stayed forever. It was perfect. The amount of times he had felt content with everything in his life could be counted on one hand. He could add one more to that number. She started to laugh and pulled away from him, her fingers interlacing behind his neck as she looked into his eyes. He let his hands fall to her waist, locking them at the small of her back. It was just so natural, so easy to be with her. Is that what it was supposed to be like? Phil, I really care about you. A lot." A lot? Did that even begin to describe the feelings he was having? "But this is completely crazy!" Yeah, it was... They were living in the same house. Right now, they were in his parent's greenhouse. They could come in at any moment. "It is crazy. But, right now... I don't really care." and he found, he didn't. That might change later, but this was a perfect moment. No need to ruin it. Lover: @lestrange

Andy couldn't help but smile at Phils answer. She looked down to the side, shaking her head for a moment before looking back at him. "Okay, we'll start caring in... A few minutes," she leaned forward again, lifting up onto her toes until her lips made contact with his once more. It wasn't a wild kiss, but it was just as passionate and intense. More so, even. The stress of the last few months slipped away, all the stupid things she had done, all the horrible people, her issues with her sister. What was all that? Nothing. It wasn't here. It was somewhere far away.
She had to pull back again, though, but just enough to breathe. She looked up into those eyes. Those eyes she'd so many times but never really appreciated til now. "Is it weird to say..." her voice was soft, "that I'm hearing chill violins right now?"
