fiendfyre "controlling and extinguishing" the classroom was void of desks today. there would be no reading from books or writing things down. unless there was a student who deemed fit to do so. but he didn't think there would be. instead of desks in the middle of the room stood a round metal ring. it was about four meters across and just about as deep. he was going to show the class something today, fiendfyre. it was a little out of the books of learning he knew but with everything happening in the world at the moment he didn't put it past the people behind this to start using worse methods of hurting people. and this was one of them. he'd teach them how to get rid of it using a charm and to disperse the flames. teach them not to rely on water to put out the flames that roared with the voice of an animal. it was dangerous but they needed to learn. they were lucky he had learned how to control the fire a few years back, part of the auror training program. he glanced back at the board, waved his hand toward the chalk as it started to write some information about the fire on the black board as the students started to come into the room.

One of James's favorite classes was Defense Against the Dark Arts, so when James was to be headed that way he was in a little bit more of a better mood than usual. He rather liked Professor Jakebson and found him to be one of the better teachers in the school. With everything going on lately, he wondered what they would be learning in the class. Hopefully something that he could use. Things were cracking down and he knew that the kids in Phoenix Rising needed some defense lessons. Hopefully today's seventh year lesson would be one that Abby would give the go ahead to help teach the younger ones.
James walked into the class and he was one of the very first there aside from a few others. He noticed almost immediately that there were no desks but a round metal ring. James raised an eyebrow as he looked around and found Professor Jakebson up at the front of the room. What was he thinking of today? "'Lo Professor," he nodded to the man as he walked over and found his spot near the middle of the room by the metal ring.

Defence Against the Dark Arts. It wasn't one of Ava's best subjects but with a little studying here and there she was able to knock out a few cracking good grades. Her main issue was she didn't always pay attention in lessons. She was sure there was something wrong with her sometimes but she often found her mind wondering. Though it couldn't be helped. Professor Jakebson was quite delicious to behold. Not to mention all the ... well her mind shouldn't wonder. Instead she made her way along corridor with a couple of girls from the year below. They'd been talking about a guy one of the girls liked, Ava was called in for some advice and before she knew it they were talking about James Potter in a pair of fish-net stockings doing the can-can. Well where else would a conversation end up?
With a giggle and a wave Ava entered the classroom a little eagerly and bounced into a couple of students all ready there, though there weren't many of them so Ava was glad she wasn't late. Her energy was certainly all over the place today, as usual. Still she carried on her way and left her bag in the corner of the room with a few others. She supposed her mood should have been shifted to a somewhat more serious tone what with the writing coming up on the black board and the ring in the middle but the sight of James Potter just kept her spirits high and it was almost a struggle to keep back the laughter, but she managed it and fairly well she thought. She gave herself a mental shake down and kept her face straight, reading what was coming up on the board.

Defense Against the Dark Arts was very clearly one of Marcias favorite classes. She marched into the room like she owned the place and moved to a desk right in the front, giving the Professor and excited little wave as she did so. "Hey, Professor Jakebson!" she said with a cheery disposition. After all the craziness that had been going on with killings, vampires, werewolves and Phoenix Rising, Marcia was ready to get to work on defending herself and others against such things. She watched as words started to appear on the boards, words about fire.
Fire was a bit of a... touchy subject for Marcia, to say the least. Her parents had enchanted her hair to ignite in green flames whenever her emotions were high. Drat-they were probably lighting up now. She sat up straight and took a deep breath, trying to reform back to a calmer self so that her hair wasn't doing anything crazy. Not that she really hated the flames, they were just inconvenient. Still, she couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope that maybe this spell could help her figure out how to remove them, or at least control them enough that they didn't embarrass her.
Like giving her emotions away any time Cain walked in a room...

fiendfyre "controlling and extinguishing" "morning" he said in response to the students that had poured into the class and gathered around the large ring in the middle of the room. he heard the chalk finish writing on the board and heard the piece drop down with the others and he turned to it. "so fiendfyre" he said as he walked forward to the middle of the room and he looked at each of the students. "tell me about it?" he asked them, leaning his knee against the copper ring as he rested there for a second, his arms folding across his chest in a relaxed stance as he waited for them to tell him what they knew. he was sure they would have heard of the fire, it was after all a powerful dark magic that had done some damage in the history books but he wanted to know. "today i'll be showing you what it can do. and how to end the curse with a charm. difficult to control if you don't know how and difficult to extinguish but not impossible"
