-this is just the beginning, continued-
"Ondina drew a small quivering breath. It felt like a light in the darkness. It was followed by a stronger breath, one she knew couldn't be hers. She heard her name, someone was calling her. It sounded so distant though... So faint. She didn't want to follow it. Until she realized something, the voice. She knew it, knew it well, and felt herself drawn to that desperate call.
Everything hurt. Her body felt bruised and beaten, her throat burned from the spell, and her leg... Words couldn't describe that pain. Slowly, everything came back to her. The explosion, the smoke, and the panic. Even opening her eyes hurt, but she knew she had to. Someone was waiting for her. The first thing she saw was a familiar green gaze, just a breath away from her own. She knew those eyes, they'd made her heart skip a beat more then once. "You... saw..." Like everything else, talking hurt. But, in that moment? She didn't care. He came."
---
Cass let out the breath he had been holding as her eyes flickered open and his heart started beating again. He smiled at her words. "Yeah, yeah of course I did. I promised I would," his voice was soft, with almost a humorous spin as he spoke. He reached a hand up to her hair and found himself gently stroking at the strands playing by her ears. His face was still so close to hers and... well, he was so happy that she was alive that he found himself closing the gap between them again and kissing her, really kissing her.
He didn't care about the consequences at the moment or the fact that her boyfriend had just run off to get help. All he cared about was the fact that she was alive. Finally, he pulled away, not even skipping a beat before speaking again. "I've got to get you out of here. The breathing wasn't he only issue- your leg... just, trust me, okay?" he said quickly before slowly lifting her off the ground.

Ondina smiled softly at his words. He'd kept his promise. She'd never doubted him, and as she laid eyes on him she forgot about the others. She forgot that Albus, Rose, and Scorpius had been with her, and she had no idea if they were safe. No, nothing else mattered in this moment. "Good." She breathed, that single word was all she needed to say as she stared into those eyes of his. He was close, closer then he'd ever been before, and she could feel him gently touching her hair. It would have been so easy... To close that distance between them. Should she? Cassius had the same though, doing exactly what she'd been debating, and kissed her.
Really kissed her.
The Slytherin girl had kissed plenty of boys. Scorpius, of course, countless times. And during their break ups she'd had a few flings with other boys... But none of them could compare to Cassius. He was the first one to make her feel butterflies... Cassius had always been different though. Without any hesitation, she kissed him back. And she knew, that the feelings she had for him were mutual.
Just like that though, it was over, Cassius pulled away and donned that Healer attitude of his. Ondina wasn't to happy by the act, but at the same time, she was all to aware of the throbbing in her leg. "I trust you..." She finally said, just before he scooped her off the ground and got to his feet. White hot pain shot through her leg, almost blinding. She let out a whimper, her fingers closing tightly on a fistful of his shirt.

"I trust you," Ondina said. Cass smiled at the thought and began walking. "Okay, I am worried about moving you too much. I'm going to get you to the hospital wing as fast as I can but... just stay with me, okay?" he said, his voice cracking slightly. He was incredibly worried about the entire situation, obviously. He stopped as someone walked up to them, the Headmaster. He spoke to him with a level head, explaining that he needed to get Ondina to the hospital wing, stat. He explained where he had found Scorpius and where the main damage was. The professor was already on his way there and left Cass to take care of Ondina. After he left, Cass found himself chuckle nervously. "Good thing he didn't walk in about three minutes ago, huh?" he didn't look at Ondina as he made the joke about their kiss. Suddenly he felt his stomach start to grumble in... what was that? Guilt? For kissing someone elses girlfriend? True he had never done anything like that before but... what was so wrong with it? Taking what he wanted? The hospital wing was far, several floors down and almost completely across the school. But he couldn't fly her across... there had to be a faster way to get her there. "Okay," he finally said, stopping. He looked about the hallway he had stopped in, finally turning and kicking the door open beside him. He stepped in the empty room, slowly bending down to lay Ondina on the floor. "It'll be fast if I get some supplies and come back," the thought of leaving her behind make him sick to his stomach, but he had to. Ondina Nell Weasley

It hurt. Every step he took send needles of pain shooting through her body. She'd yet to see what had happened to it, but she didn't need to to know it was bad. Broken, definitely, but the way he'd hesitated when mentioning the injury.... Not to mention in her current position she could see blood covering her robes, and Cassius' where he was holding her. Her eyes went wide as she just stared at it. It couldn't all be hers.... Could it..? It took a few moments for her to understand what he'd just said. He sounded... worried? Slowly she nodded.
Ondina didn't spot Professor Longbottom at first. It wasn't until he was leaving that she caught sight of him, the man rushing down the corridor they'd just come from. Of course.. The explosion would have caught his attention. She did hear what Cassius said though. Dragging her gaze away from the red stain, she looked up at him, eyes still a little wide from the shock that was slowly setting in. He didn't look back though. "... Don't regret it." She finally muttered. Yes, she had a boyfriend. Yes, she should regret kissing someone that wasn't Scorpius. If it was anyone else, maybe she would have. But Cassius was different... He had a power over her, one Scorpius never had. A power that was both terrifying and exciting...
Ondina held back another whimper as Cassius kicked a door on, jostling her leg, but couldn't help but tighten her grip on his robes. She didn't like feeling this weak. But, she liked being in Cassius' strong arms. He'd never been this close before. All to soon though, he was slowly and carefully lowering her to the ground. She couldn't hold back the flinch from pain, the girl biting her lip to stop any sound from escaping. Afraid that it might escape if she spoke, she just nodded again. The look in her eyes though... silent pleading not to leave.

”Don’t regret it,” as she said the words the two of them made eye contact. He simply nodded, not letting the smile in his heart sneak up to his face. He wasn’t frowning, by any means, but he wasn’t showing his true feelings either. ”I won’t,” he added. He felt her grip tighten on his robes as he opened the door and the flinch when he lowered her to the ground. But moving her was the problem. Moving her would be worse though. He had to set the leg here, mend the bones and give her some painkilling potion. ”Okay, I need to stop the bleeding before I go. This is going to hurt,” he warned before pulling out his wand, muttering a spell that would temporarily harden the blood on the outside to hold the rest in. He then proceeded to make a tourniquet. Once that was finished, he looked at her once more. He could see in her eyes that she didn’t want him to leave. He furrowed his brow, reaching a hand down to gently touch the back of it to her forehead. ”I promise I’ll be right back,” he waited a moment longer before hurrying out the door. He didn’t waste any time summoning his broom and heading back to the hospital wing as fast as he could. Once there, he tossed the broom aside, seeing that students were already being brought in by house elves. He grabbed what he needed, gave the house elves some minor instruction before leaving again. The clinical side of him, the healing side, was watching the students being brought in and already calculating how to help them. But no, he had to save Ondina first. No one was there to help her.
He couldn’t fly back; the supplies wouldn’t do well on a broom. He carried them in his medical bag, trying to hurry as he went. Finally, he arrived at the room again-perhaps about fifteen minutes later-and slid to Ondinas side with no hesitation. Without even taking a breath his bag was open and he was getting to work. ”Okay, Miss W-“ he stopped himself. He was getting back into healer mode and therefore was focusing and serious. ”Ondina. I’m going to sedate you now so you don’t feel the pain just... bear with me. I’ll be there when you open your eyes,” he promised before pulling out the potion. He gently lifted her from her shoulders in order to prop her head up, ”okay, you’ll have to drink it.” He said, slowly lifting the small bottle toward her mouth.

As their gaze met, it didn't matter that Cassius had hidden his emotions from his expression. He couldn't hide it from his eyes. She didn't offer any sort of smile either though, feeling it wasn't necessary. It wasn't until he finally uttered those two words that a very small smile graced her lips, her gaze finally dropping.
Cassius said it would hurt as he pulled out his wand. For a moment she thought it'd be the spell, but no, it was the tourniquet. The moment he touched her leg to start tying it, she let out a whimper and tried to free the leg, fighting against his strong grip. THe attempts were weak, and when he finally finished her hands were trembling from the pain and her breath short. Cassius was trying to help her, and she knew that. But a part of her was convinced otherwise. As she felt his hand on her forehead though, she forced hers open, having squeezed them shut after realizing she couldn't break free, to meet his gaze. Slowly, she nodded, but still... she didn't want to be left alone. He vanished from sight quickly....
Ondina let out a shaky breath as she closed her eyes again. He'd come back, she had to believe that. A part of her still doubted it though. And the longer he was gone, the louder that part became. How long had it been? Minutes? Hours? The pain made it hard to focus. Finally though, she heard her name, cutting through the darkness. She slowly opened her eyes, and felt a weight lifted from her when she saw it was Cassius. Thank goodness. As he moved the potion towards her lips though, she finally moved, her fingers closing around his wrist. She didn't stop him though, just stared into those eyes that matched her own as he brought the potion to her lips and forced her to drink it. It was powerful. She could feel it working almost immediately, but she didn't let go of his wrist. She had to say something, before it was to late. "Cass... If I chose you... Would you chose me?" Maybe it was the potion that made her ask, or the shock. Hell, she probably wouldn't remember this later. But one thing was certain. She finally knew what she felt for Cassius. Before she could hear an answer, or even see his reaction, her grip loosened and dropped to her lap as her eyes closed.

He was expecting her to struggle against the potion, but as she clasped his wrist she didn't push back. It was more like she was holding on for life, and showing that she trusted him. It was a strange feeling, trust. Sure he had felt it with his two best friends plenty of times, but this was different. This was surreal. As he poured the potion into her mouth, she started to speak. his eyes flickered to hers as she said his name, asked him the question and proceeded to pass out as the potion took affect. He felt his throat close up and he almost lost his cool for a moment. Cass didn't see himself as the choosing type. He liked to keep his options open and random in every aspect of his life. But as the words played over again in his mind... he already knew his answer. He pushed the thought aside as best he could in order to get her to a stable place. After who knows how long he received word via house elf that the hospital wing needed him. Once Ondina was stable enough, he took her with him to the wing and found her the bed closest to his office. After lying her there, time seemed to freeze as he pressed his hand to her cheek, his thoughts burning with the question that she'd asked him. Someone said his name and he turned away, onto the crowd of injuries before him. Ondina Nell Weasley-le end-
