Zander raised an eyebrow at her as she spoke. He felt a lump in his throat, his heartbeat was clear there now. Whatever this was, whoever was making her say these things... he was not going to let it go. He was not going to forget today, no way. He nodded, "I promise," he didn't know what was to come, but he hoped that his promise would hold true. It came from his heart, of course it did. He loved her, and he had no doubt about that. He wasn't going to tell her yet, not now. Not with tears on her face and that fear in her eyes. "Only if you promise to write me a song," he joked, his eyes lighting up with humor. He didn't want to lose this moment, but he couldn't see her eyes like that for long. He couldn't bear the pain in them.

Zander promised he wouldn't forget. It made her smile a little. But... She hoped it would be true. He was such a gentle soul, she didn't know how he felt about the attacks that had happened at the school thus far. He didn't approve, obviously, but would he hate her when he found out she was involved? As long as he was safe though.... She'd be okay with that. Because it meant he'd be alive.
He changed the subject quickly, blurting out that she had to write him a song. It caught her so offguard that she giggled for a split second. "I don't know how to write music!"

Awe, a giggle! Mission accomplished. "Well, it's a good thing I've got plenty of time to teach you," he said with a wink and a giant amount of hope in his voice. He pulled back, keeping their hands in tact as she took a step toward his guitar. "Come on, isn't it time for that lesson?" his voice was soft, gently pulling her with him along with a tug of her hand...
