Hugo stood in the hallway outside the Ravenclaw common room, waiting for Rose. It was a Hogsmeade day and they had decided they would spend the day together- a brother sister date of sorts. So, like the gentleman he was, he waited outside her common room with a bouquet in his hand. What? He was a nice guy and his sister deserved pretty flowers! They were roses, of course, because he was also a very punny person. Many looked at him with slightly raised eyebrows and open jaws. Someone even smirked at him with big eyes like he was a giant sweetheart. Which he totally is! But they didn't realize that this was just the kind of thing he did for his best friend, his hero, his sister. Rozalina Antonina Nightshade(lol he loves her so much)

Rose was just finishing up tying her shoelaces on the edge of her four poster, a small smile spread across her face. She was excited for the day ahead. Not only was it a Hogsmeade weekend, but she was spending the day with her best friend: her little brother. Rose and Hugo weren't terribly far apart in age (a year, to be exact,) and that was probably a great deal of why they had always been so close. Rose shared everything with Hugo. As far as siblings went, they were the only ones that one another had. The two rarely fought, and there wasn't anything that they hid from one another. That was why, briefly, Rose let a frown cross her features as she thought of Scorpius. What did Hugo think about him? What would Hugo think about her feelings for him? Rose shook her head at the thought and stood up, straightening her jacket out and taking in a little breath. She would cross that bridge when she came to it.
With a little more of a skip in her step than usual, Rose exited the dormitory and crossed through the Common Room. She and Hugo had decided to meet just outside her Common Room, he was just through that door! Rose's smile widened as the portrait opened, Rose immediately saw Hugo. She spread her arms out and flung them around her brother. She was so thankful that he somehow always managed to stay out of trouble and safe. She didn't know what she would ever do if she lost him. She pulled away and looked at her brother, seeing the roses he had in his hands. Her smile widened. "Hugh!" She breathed, gently taking a hold of the bouquet. "How is it you always know how to brighten my day?" She brought the roses up to her nose and sniffed them. It may have been incredibly corny, but they were from her brother. She was so thankful to have as sweet and as understanding a brother as Hugo.
Maybe telling him about Scorpius wouldn't be as hard as she thought...

"Aw, I just have a knack for this sort of thing," Hugo said with a sweet little grin. He turned to stand beside her, holding out an arm for her to take. 'So! Are you ready for Hogsmeade today? I have a good feeling about today. Good things are going to happen," always the optimist, or at least trying to be. With the things he saw... well, it was better to have a positive outlook as much as humanly possible. Otherwise he would undoubtedly slip into madness. "Albus is doing okay, as far as I can tell. He's pretty upset about the whole tower fiasco, of course. I was rather upset about it too," his voice lowered at the mention of it. He was nowhere near when it happened and didn't see his sister until the aftermath, and that made him rather angry. He should have been there to help her, no matter how far away he was when the drama started. Nope, he was off doing something else, somewhere else and didn't even know it was happening until the staff contacted him about Rose's injuries. Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Rose grinned at her younger brother as he held out his arm, which she accepted be interlocking her own arm. "Yes!" She said excitedly. She looked at Hugo as he spoke about his feelings for the day. "Good things?" She raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "Anything in particular?" She questioned, wondering if perhaps he had seen something that had led him to believe his. Rose was a very accepting witch, and when she had learned of her brother's clairvoyance at a young age she had accepted it first hand. Plus it was kind of like having a close Divination tutor. She smiled to herself at the thought.
The two siblings began to make their way down the castle levels and to the village, happily chatting as they did so. But Rose should have expected that her cousin and the tower would have come up at some point. Rose let out a small sigh. "I'm glad he's at least doing better," she said, her voice also lowering. "I know it wasn't his fault." No matter what people said, or what she heard; Rose knew that what had happened wasn't Albus's fault. There had to be something bigger behind it all. Maybe the tower was just old enough where one tiny thing brought it down? Who knew with everything else going on these days, though. "He was very chivalrous through it all," she continued, raising her voice a little now. "He was much more concerned with how I was even though he walked away with many more injuries than myself." The fact that Albus had been so selfless during it all... she had been reminded of that Potter trait. The one in which they were all so caring and careful of others before themselves.
"I know it was... shocking," Rose said as the two of them began to enter the small village of Hogsmeade. "For you and Mum and Dad," she went on slowly. "But... even though it was quite scary, I felt... safe." It was odd. Rose was just now really realizing, but the only time she had gotten truly scared and lost her cool was when she thought Albus had been severely hurt or... killed. Her biggest fear in those moments was losing him, or Ondina, or Scorpius. She had been very little concerned for herself.

"Aw, nothing too fancy really-just a feeling," he said, assuring her that there wasn't any actual vision behind the feeling. Really Hugos vision were generally about death and destruction. It'd be nice to have a good one every now and then, eh? But, recently, no dice. As they walked and talked, Hugo had serious tunnel vision, listening to everything his sister had to say. Everyone else was a blur to him when it as Hugo/Rose time. As it should be! As she described Albus during the accident, Hugo shook his head with a little chuckle. "Aw, sounds like Al. Not on the surface, mind you, but underneath all that angst he really loves you." He frowned at his next thought, "it's a shame what that Gossip Column said.... there's no way he was trying to kill Ondina." Now that was one of his cousins that Hugo had virtually no real relationship with. She was a bit crazy. As she described feeling 'safe', Hugo raised an eyebrow at her. He turned down the street, watching the mass of students break off into different shops around them. "Safe, eh? Why so?"Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Rose adorned a wide grin. "Well, I'm glad to hear it," she said, happy that her brother had a happy, good feeling about what was to come. It was refreshing during these times.
Another smile crossed Rose's face. "I know he does," she said rather quietly, thinking of her cousin. She knew Albus had a different way of expressing things, especially when it came to how he felt. She felt lucky to be one of the few he cared about unconditionally and wasn't always afraid to show it. She was happy she had such a relationship with her cousin when so few others did. When Hugo brought up the gossip column, Rose felt her cheeks get a little hot with anger. She scoffed at the thought of that retched column. "Whoever writes that is a foul human with too much time on their hands," she said harshly. "The nerve."
Rose had zero secrets from her brother. They told one another everything. As far as siblings went, there were probably no closer siblings than Rose and Hugo Weasley. If Rose didn't tell him herself, he would find out on his own and who knew where that would leave them. She bit her lip as she thought of how to respond. "Er," she made a face, her nose wrinkling a little bit. "Scorpius... he kind of... saved me? I guess?" It sounded more like a question than an answer even to herself.

Hugo couldn't help but chuckle as Rose said such harsh words about the Gossip Columnist. She had a rather hot head when it called for it. Though, that was kind of a Weasley trait- one that Hugo seemed to have skipped out on. He was rather good at staying patience and gracious with everyone, even if they were pretty much the worse person ever he was still trying to find a light in them. Positivity, real fun stuff. As she went on to explain that her reason for feeling safe was because of a Scorpius Malfoy, Hugo raised an inquisitive brow at her. "Really? Well, that was nice of him. I mean, he couldn't exactly let you die in front of his girlfriend. You are family after all," he was sure that wasn't the reason for saving her. He was conflicted on this topic. Scorp was a good guy, he knew that, but he was dating their cousin right now and he was best friends with Al and he had always fought with Rose. So, why else would he save her other than to be kind, for one, and show Ondina he cares about her family? Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

At Hugo's chuckling, Rose honestly could not help but crack a smile as well but she looked at him with slight surprise as well. "I'm serious, Hugh!" She said, holding back a little chuckle herself. Rose couldn't help but always laugh when her brother did. He had a contagious happy attitude. "They better hope they never publish anything foul about you, otherwise they will have to answer to me." She said, pointing her right thumb to her chest.
"Yeah," Rose nodded, her brow furrowing slightly. Just family. "Of course." She added that to sound more sure of herself. "He's not so bad, Scorpius," she shrugged casually as she opened the door to The Three Broomsticks, holding it open for him to follow her inside. "I mean, he is friends with Al." Rose wasn't sure why she had never really given a Scorpius a chance before this year... but she figured it was because of her dad. He had always had a thing against the Malfoy name. "I don't know why Dad always told us to steer clear of him."

”Hey, I only laugh because it’s ridiculous. But, by all means, take them down-” he lifted both hands in a surrender pose accompanied by another laugh. ”I really wish someone would put a stop to it, though,” he dropped his arms, ”there is enough darkness in this school already without their help.” He knew. He’d seen most of it. Hugo couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow as Rose said Scorp wasn’t so bad. ”Well, I’ve always known that,” he followed her into the Three Broomsticks and led her to a table. ”I mean, you’re the one who’s been fighting with him since day one.” It was true, and Hugo wasn’t one to dance around things. ”Dad’s just name blaming. It’s not uncommon for those who knew Scorps dad, I think,” he said. Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Rose let out an exasperated sigh and folded her arms across her chest. "I just hope that whoever writes that awful rubbish graduates this year or something," she said, shaking her head. "That way we won't have to put up with it again next year." While this stood a 50/50 chance of happening, Rose really hoped whoever the 'Wicked Witch' was was a seventh year. She didn't know what she would do if next year they published some horrendous rumor about she and Scorpius... but then again, Rose thought maybe having a rumor with Scorpius wouldn't be too bad.
As Hugo led them to a table, Rose smiled a bit sheepishly. It was true, she had been the one to always give Scorpius a hard time. But then again, he had given her a hard time too! "Well, it wasn't like I was alone!" She added, defending herself even though she really had no room to. Hugo had always been good at judging character, and Rose had never listened to anyone about Scorpius except her dad. Who, Huh was right, was prejudiced because of Scorp's last name. "I suppose the last name was a factor..." She trailed off for a moment. "But, I don't think he is like his father was at all." She was quieter now. Talking to her brother came so easily, that she never really even had to think about what she was saying. Whatever they said to one another, it was always judgment free. Which was why saying what she was about to say was so easy.
"I... I really like Scorpius."

Hugo nodded, patting her on the back. He had no doubt that this Wicked Witch would just pass her column onto someone else, hoping to keep it going for eternity. She/He was the type, he could tell. He didn't want to say this out loud to Rose, though. He wanted her to have some hope over the summer. Granted, Hugo would rather be lifted up by the news of her not writing anymore than taken down by her coming back... still, he couldn't bring himself to bring up this prediction to Rose. They sat down and chuckled as she defended herself against fighting with Scorp. Hugo nodded, "oh no, trust me, it's been both of you. I know it has," he chuckled again. Then she went on to say that Scorp wasn't like his dad and Hugo raised a brow at her. Waiting. Then she said it, and Hugo wasn't the least bit surprised. He didn't smile, though, he didn't want her to think he was making a big deal out of it. "Okay. Does he know this?"Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Rose wasn't quite sure what kind of reaction she had been expecting from her brother. She knew Hugo would never judge her for her feelings, no matter who she felt them toward but she supposed she had at least been expecting some sort of facial reaction mainly because of who it was. But Hugo didn't have any ill feelings toward anyone, especially a friend of Albus's. She should have really seen his reaction from a mile away, and she was almost ashamed that she had been expecting worse out of him.
The Ravenclaw bit her lip and didn't look at her brother as she took a moment to answer his question. "No," she finally said, shaking her head only once. "No, he doesn't know. And I don't know if I'll ever tell him, either. Butterbeer?" She said quickly, and then turned away to flag down a waiter to order the two of them a drink.

She was quickly changing the subject to butterbeer after she announced that he didn't know and she wasn't sure if she would ever say anything. He sighed, why were his family members so scared to share their feelings? Granted, this case made more sense than Xaviers did. He nodded as the waitress came over, ordering a butterbeer but not speaking again until the waitress had left. "Why won't you tell him? Are you afraid he'll reject you? Laugh at you?" his voice was calm and sure. He knew thinking about the possibilities could stress her out, but she needed to consider them. At least, she needed to get to the root of why she wasn't planning on telling Scorpius about this... these feelings. He was sure she hadn't told anyone else, because that would be insane, and he was sure she had plenty of reasons for not telling the Malfoy either... but they probably weren't good reasons. Rose ordered a butterbeer and forced a polite smile until the waitress left them, then her eyebrows creased in confusion and worry as she bit her lip. "No - that's - I mean... kind of...?" She wasn't sure what she was expecting from Scorpius really, but she certainly wasn't expecting him to return the feeling. They had always acted like they loathed one another. While they had agreed to finally be a bit more civl to each other that day in the owlery, Rose just couldn't believe that the Malfoy would ever feel the same way.
"That and... Dad." Rose felt that she did not really have to state anything further. It had never been a secret how much her father and Mr. Malfoy had always disliked one another. Rose avoided her brother's all-seeing eye until the waitress returned with their butterbeer, which she gingerly began to sip upon as she dared to look up at Hugo.

He didn't like making her stutter, making her seem unconfident, but he was just stating what he thought she had meant. Still, even after trying to deny it, her body language gave away that he had guessed right. And dad, of course. She was avoiding eye contact now, Hugo could tell, and he understood why. Hugo had a way of knowing what was going on in your head just by looking at you. Not word for word mind reading, but emotion reading for sure. As she braved looking up at him, he spoke. "Well, of course you'd be worried about dad. He flat out told you to stay away from Scorpius," he agreed. "But he loves you, Rose." He leaned forward at that, his gaze soft.
