Rose was still a little shaken up about what occurred in the tower only a few days ago. She had gone up to the tower with Scorpius in an attempt to stop an argument between Albus and Ondina, as usual. Things were tame until Albus had used some type of nonverbal magic and the tower... exploded. It had been a traumatizing ordeal, and through it all Rose couldn't even do anything because she had broken her wand during the impact. She had hit her head when she had gotten separated from Scorpius and Ondina with Albus, as well. She luckily did not have a concussion but she had had a bad headache for days that left her in bed at the Hospital Wing. Finally she felt much better and the nurse had given her the go-ahead to leave. Her first order of business? Get a new wand.
Luckily it was a Hogsmeade weekend, so Rose was off to the village by herself to go to a branch of Ollivander's to buy a new wand. She knew she couldn't go a day without one in her lessons. As Rose ventured to the little village, she couldn't help but think of Scorpius Malfoy. When the initial explosion had happened, she could remember one thing clearly: Scorpius had run directly toward her. To protect her. Rose actually hadn't been able to get the image out of her head. During the whole event, Rose couldn't help but keeping thinking back to Scorp - calling out his name and hoping he was okay. Of course she cared about her cousins, too but... she didn't expect to care about Scorpius as much as she did.
Rose entered the wand shop and began to browse around. Luckily it was near deserted, after all how many people needed a wand in the middle of the school year?

Having a broken wand was basically the worst thing on this earth, and the most inconvenient. His mother wanted to join him in his hunt for a new wand, but he told her he was fine going on his own. She patted him on the head, hypothetically speaking, and sent him on his way with the money he would need. It was strange, going to Ollivanders by himself. He loved the memory of going with his parents when he was eleven, and a part of him didn't want that to be replaced. I mean, really, how was this wand trip going to top that one? Well, his questioned was answered when he heard someone open the door. He was already in the shop, lost in the shelves. He stepped out of the aisle he was in to glance toward the door, and his heart stopped. It was Rose. He shouldn't be surprised that she was there. Her wand broke too, didn't it? He stared at her, unmoving.

It took less than sixty seconds for Rose to spot the very person she almost feared seeing. She froze the moment she saw him step out from behind an aisle. Her eyes were wide, unblinking for a moment. They had not spoken since... the accident, when he had run to her instead of Ondina: his girlfriend. Rose didn't know what to say at first, she was at a loss for words. Did she ask him why? Should she avoid the question altogether? She had no idea what to do.
After what felt like a decade, Rose finally opened her mouth to speak. At first nothing came out except a tiny noise, as she still wasn't sure where to begin. She took in a deep breath. "Scorpius," she breathed out finally. "Y-what-" "Get it together, Rose!" "How are you feeling?" There. That was a perfectly neutral question. After all, she imagined he still had to be quite shaken up after the whole ordeal as well.

And of course they both just stared at one another in silence for a moment before speaking. He was glad she was just as speechless as he was. He was also glad that she made a sound and stuttered first. He finally let his usual smile grace is face as he walked toward her, keeping his hands calmly behind his back as he moved closer. "Rose. I'm... well. And how are you?" it was strange to think about the way that he had last seen Rose. Both of them in the Hospital Wing, after the crazy events at the tower... As he looked into her eyes at this moment, he was flashed back to then. To running by her side. "I... I guess we both need new wands, huh?"

When Scorpius began to walk toward her, Rose's eyes widened slightly more and she bit her bottom lip. His moving closer to her only made her think about how he had run over to her during the explosion even more. And he was smiling. Why was he smiling!? This only made a tiny smile appear on Rose's face as well, before she looked down upon his asking how she was. "I - I'm okay," she nodded and then looking back up at him. "Just a little shaken up, you know?" Things were sounding oddly casual between the two of them. Perhaps it was because they had agreed to be nicer to one another. They had always acted like they hated one another until very recently. So things were still awkward.
Rose should have figured that when she saw him in here that something must have happened to his wand during the explosion, as well. "I guess so," she sighed. "I think I must have fallen on mine or something." She shook her head at the thought of the fall she had taken. Moreso, she couldn't help but cringe slightly at the thought of the fall that Albus had taken. "I'm glad you're okay," Rose rushed to add the last part, realizing she hadn't expressed that. But then she thought of how weirdly... caring that sounded. Quickly, she added, "I mean, for Ondina and all. I'm sure she... needs you right now," she trailed off slightly at the end of the sentence. She knew Ondina needed Scorp right now. As much as it killed her to admit it.

"Yeah... yeah, me too," he was shaken up as well, they all were. Not to mention the rumors that had been going around on Al's behalf. That he did it on purpose, that he was trying to hurt Ondina... Scorp knew that wasn't true but most people had seen the way the cousins bickered and were very accepting of this idea. This frustrated Scorp to no end. His seriously injured girlfriend and his seriously injured best friend at odds with one another. It was unbelievably difficult to deal with. He cared for Ondina, and couldn't leave her- especially when she was in so much pain. He loved Albus, and tried to back him up as much possible- but it was hard. It was always hard being in between them, as he and Rose knew. He was glad that she was glad that he was okay. Gah, but that didn't matter. The bringing up of Ondina put that wall between them again, the wall he needed to adhere to and respect. He nodded once, trying to stay civil but not too kind. He couldn't do that to himself. "Aw, yes. She's not feeling well. As for my wand... yeah, I crushed it when I fell," he rolled his eyes. It was silly that something so important could be broken so easily. "Nothings caught my eye yet I... I don't know," he chewed on the inside of his cheek, turning away from her to glance at the shelves. Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Of course Rose had to just realize her feelings for Scorpius in time for he and Ondina to have gotten back together just before this whole ordeal. Of course. But Ondina wasn't the only thing stopping Rose from pursuing the Malfoy. If Rose's father had even gotten word that she was mildly interested in Draco Malfoy's son, he would likely have a conniption. Rose couldn't go behind her father's back like that. She wanted nothing more in life to make her parents proud and happy and she knew being with a Malfoy would bring anything but pride and happiness.
Plus, Scorpius couldn't like her. Could he?
If there were any sort of common ground that Scorpius and Rose had, it was Ondina and Albus. Rose knew that Scorpius loved the two of them just as much as she did (and in the case of Ondina, maybe even a little bit more than she did unfortunately.) As shaken up as they still were, Rose and Scorpius had been fortunate enough to walk away from the explosion with little to no injuries while Albus and Ondina were both still in the hospital with more severe injuries. While the thought of her cousins deeply saddened her, she couldn't help but think... "Well, hey," she said, beginning to crack a light smile and leaning forward a bit so she could see his face head on again. "You know that has to be the least dull hospital room in England right now." She couldn't help but let out a little laugh at the thought of Ondina and Albus having to share beds across from one another in the Hospital Wing.

At her joke about the danger of the hospital wing at the moment, scorp let out a laugh. He notices her leaning forward, of course, but held his ground. "I feel awful for the nurses-" his smile faded at the thought. It was strange to think of Cassius as a staff member, seeing as they went to school together, but it was even stranger to see his lips touching Ondinas. Scorp had seen him giving her mouth to mouth back at the tower... He was just trying to bring her back, give her breath, but it was still an odd sight. And only yesterday he had seen Cass checking up on Ondina at the hospital. They had a connection, that was clear. But at least it wasn't a kiss, right? He took a step back, clearing his throat. "How does one even find a second wand anyway? It feels like... Like cheating," he chuckled but then realized what he had just said. His face turned red. "Let's play a game. You find one you think suits me and I'll find one I think suits you." He raised an eyebrow, taking a few steps back ready to start the search...

Rose automatically smiled a little bit wider when she got a laugh out of Scorpius. "I'm sure there is no shortage of scowls and eye rolling in there. Probably enough to last the nurses a lifetime," she laughed a little bit once more. When the smile on his face disappeared, however, Rose let out a little cough and looked down at her feet as her smile faded as well. She let her mind wander to what he must have been thinking of to make his smile fade like that... was it Ondina? Or was it the fact that he still couldn't stand to be around her, like always? She bit on her lower lip and just stood next to him in silence.
When Scorpius took a step back, Rose turned to look at him again and her eyes widened slightly. She blinked at him, trying to push the thought of he and Ondina out of her mind. Because this wasn't anything serious. They were just two people, newly friends, who happened to bump into one another wand shopping. It wasn't even planned! She took a quiet breath in and tried to push all feeling of guilt out of her mind. She raised an eyebrow at his proposition. "I'll take you up on that," she flashed a small smirk and then turned around to face the wall behind them.
Rose began to look around, her eyebrow still raised in concentration as she did. She looked up and down the rows of boxs, thinking of one to grab for Scorpius. She recalled a memory in her mind of a day in a Transfiguration lesson when the class had particularly had to use their wands. She remembered watching Scorpius from a few feet away and she had noted the wood of his wand... cypress. With a tiny smile, Rose found one that had "cypress" written on the box and she reached up to grab it. She turned back around on her heel and returned to Scorpius. "Here, I'll trade you," she offered up a naturally kind smile.

So, they separated- looking for each others wands. It was a silly idea, thinking that he could actually find something that would suit her. Finally, he settled on a Cherry wand. He chose it because the wood was a pretty color, the wand had a complicated design twisting around the stem and base. It was complicated and beautiful... so it made sense, right? As they approached each other, Scorp smiled at the wand she presented. It was clearly Cyprus, just like his old wand. "You're very sneaky, Rose," he said, a goofy smile adorning his face. And for a moment, in fact for several moments as this wand searching continued, it was almost as if no one else existed. "Okay, switch," he said, teaching forward to take the wand that she had presented him with. Nothing happened. Which was a bit of a disappointment. "Aw, another one?" he said, pursing his lips into a frown. Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Rose couldn't help but smile as Scorpius called her sneaky. Why had she always written him off as a bad guy? He was so nice... and he was proving to be very sweet these last few days since the incident. Rose supposed she had her father to thank for her opinion of Scorpius Malfoy. Since she was very young, she had always been warned to stay away from the Malfoy boy by her father. Her mother had never really given her her opinion of Scorpius but it was clear that her father had some vendetta against Scorpius's father which wasn't entirely surprising considering their past together. But as far as Rose knew, her mother and even Uncle Harry didn't mind Scorpius's dad. So why was her own father always so adamant on her staying away from him?
Rose's smile widened at the sight of the wand Scorpius had picked out for her. It looked beautiful and she nearly snatched it out of his hands in excitement to give it a try. She gave it a flick and while nothing had happened when Scorpius tried the one she had picked, a spark shot out of the wand in her hand and had shattered a vase of flowers by one of the windows at the front of the shop. Rose's eyes widened and as she turned to look at Scorpius, she bit her bottom lip to hold back a laughing fit. "Definitely another," she said, setting the wand back in the box it had come with.
The Ravenclaw stepped away from the Slytherin once again to search for another wand, scouring the shelves until she came across an all black box. She reached up for it and opened it, gazing at the black walnut wand inside. It was a straight, eleven inches. The grip of the wand had a complex carving made to look just like vines. She had a good feeling about this one. "How 'bout this one?" She asked, handing to to Scorpius with a prideful look on her face.

As she left him, he moved through the shelves as well until a certain maroon case drew his eye. He reached up, slipping the case out and pulling it down. He pulled out the wand. It was dark wood, straight, nine inches. He felt a lump catch in his throat as he looked at the handle... a swirling design wrapped around it and it looked just like a bunch of roses. He bit his lip before returning to their meeting spot and presenting the wand to her. Her look of pride made him smile, but his demeanor was a little more... calm, surreal, gentle. "Looks good, let's switch-" he handed her the wand. Suddenly a burst of energy shot through him, almost as if he was drinking a warm cup of tea. His heart was pounding in his throat and his ears were ringing loudly. A pinkish glow seemed to fall on them and he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He looked up at her, and the moment they made eye contact he felt his wand lurch forward of it's own accord, his hand still attached to it, as it touched the tip of hers. "Uh. Uh." He blinked several times before he heard an odd sound behind them. Scorpius turned to look and found that a worker at the shop had just arrived, giving a sort of 'slow clap' at the sight of the du Rozalina Antonina Nightshade (sure y not)

Rose smiled as she and Scorpius exchanged wands and then she examined the wand a moment. It was, quite simply, the most beautiful wand she had ever laid eyes on. And she felt her breath hitch at the sight of the roses around the handle of the wand. Gently, she held it in her hands and examined it. Had he realized just how beautiful this wand was? Certainly not... and the roses? She glanced up at him as he was examining his own wand and Rose finally put her hand firmly around the wand. That was when she felt a wave of goosebumps shiver down her spine and her chest filled with what felt like happy energy... what was this?
The pink glow suddenly around them made Rose's eyes widen and her mouth turn to a flat, straight line as she stared down at their wands. Then... very suddenly, Rose's wand also lurched forward slightly until it met with Scorpius's. Her breath caught again and her lips parted slightly in amazement. After the light and the energy seemed to have faded, the clapping coming from the shopkeeper sounded so jarring that Rose looked at him as if he had just interrupted a waking baby. She raised an intense eyebrow at the man in question.
"Those are special wands, those are," he said, approaching the two of them and pointing to their wands. Rose felt as if the man was stating the obvious but couldn't take her anxious eyes off of him, waiting for him to explain exactly what "special" meant.

Special wands? What was that supposed to mean? Scorp didn’t move as he raised an eyebrow at the man, waiting for him to explain further. ”They were made by Amelie and Robert Chairmonte, wand loremasters from Surrey. They studied wands for years but never made any of their own until…” he walked toward them, pointing at the point where the tips of the wands were touching. ”Two weeks before they died they decided to put their wandlore knowledge to use, finally, and they made these two wands. May I?” he reached forward, gently grabbing both of their hands in order to spin the wands around so the butt of the wands were touching. There, he gently turned Roses hand until there was a small clicking sound, as if the wands were connected.
”Follow the vine,” he explained, and Scorp did so. It stared at his wand, small and new until it grew larger and more twisted. It blended flawlessly into Roses wand where the vine grew and burst into the roses. Scorpius jaw dropped and his non wand hand started to shake slightly. The man continued, ”the core is that of Unicorn hair, which is known for it’s strong bonding skills and it’s consistency in magic. I must be honest, I separated them in the store as a little game,” he chuckled, ”but I knew they’d find each other.”
Finally, he looked at Rose and Scorpius expectantly, as if hoping for them to be super stoked about al this. ”Uh, um,” Scorp stuttered before reaching up, finally, and disconnecting the wands to pull his back to him. ”Here,” his voice croaked as he handed the shop keeper his bag of coins. He did not look at Rose. Rozalina Antonina Nightshade

Rose listened intently to the man, her eyes wide with anxiety. The anticipation for his explanation was torturous. As he moved toward them and gently moved their wands, Rose looked down and she felt as if she had stopped breathing entirely. She looked at the roses on her own wand and followed the twisting vines down and saw that they seemed to certainly connect to the vines on Scorpius's wands. Rose just stood there for a moment, her mouth agape as she stared at their wands. When Scorpius pulled his away, she did not stop staring at her own. What was this supposed to mean?
Rose ignored the shopkeeper as he chuckled at his own idea of a game. A game she and Scorpius had evidently just won. After a moment she fumbled her other hand into her pocket and pulled out her own little sack of coins and handed it to the man. "Thank you," she said rather shortly and quickly put her wand back inside of her robes, but did not take her hand off of it; in fact she had a rather tight grip around the handle.
The brunette finally looked at Scorpius and saw that he was not looking at her. She tried not to let any emotion show on her face; she so badly wanted him to look at her. "Well," she finally spoke. "That's all I came for today... I - I think I better go back to the school or - or something." The Ravenclaw stuttered madly and suddenly found herself not looking at Scorpius. She wanted to make a run for the door but found herself rooted to the spot in which she stood.
