@edmund "Just go to the next life already, Myrtle!" Lily shouted as she backed out of the bathroom and into the hallway. She folded her arms and huffed angrily before sticking her tongue out at the bathroom door once more. She liked to use that bathroom because it was generally not crowded and she could take as long as she wanted and goof around when wanted. Her and Moaning Myrtle had become sort of... friends over the years. They had some good conversation and broke out into fights. They were almost like sisters, in a way. It was a little irritating when the ghost asked about her father... but Lily generally humored it because deep down she was a good person. After she was done glaring at the door she turned to the closest person in the hallway, who just happened to be Edmund Windsor, and rolled her eyes. "Can you believe that? Some ghosts are just so insensitive."@edmund

Edmund was walking around aimlessly on the second floor. He didn't have anywhere to be at the moment and so he was just ... roaming. Trying to avoid most people, which wasn't an all-too-uncommon occurrence for him. He was pretty good at it too. He should be, after five years at the school. The second floor was one of the best places to go when you wanted to be alone because, apart from people going to transfiguration, not many people went there. That was mostly because of Moaning Myrtle. Edmund watched the door carefully as he walked by, hoping he wouldn't have to see or hear Myrtle today. He exhaled in relief once he'd passed. He jumped and spun around when he heard a familiar voice shouting behind him. It was Lily Potter. Darn. Lily was one of the people Ed tried to avoid, mostly because she had a habit of making him feel uncomfortable. He was in the process of turning away when she spoke to him. He debated just ignoring her, but his curiosity got the better of him. He turned back to face her. His eyebrows furrowed in a mix of confusion and skepticism at her remark. "Are you sure she was the only one being insensitive? What even happened in there?" From what he heard, Lily was the insensitive one, but who knew what Myrtle said to provoke her. lily luna potter

Ooh, the little prince wanted to play, did he? Lily was glad that he was lighting a little fire in the conversation. She was pumped and ready for it. Plus, Edmund was just plain fun to mess with. She took a step forward and reached a hand out to start playing at his tie. She gave her best pout and leaned toward him. "Can't you just be on my side without explanation?" she crooned.
Then she pulled her hands away from his tie and sighed, "we're like sister, Myrtle and I. We just argue sometimes. You know what that's like, right?" she was still doing her sultry, sweet coo, of course, she generally did that the entire time she ever talked to the kid.
Even if she was being cruel.

Lily smiled and Ed had to hold back a groan. Crap. He should've left while he had a choice because he didn't anymore and things were about to get uncomfortable. He was sure of it; he recognized that wicked sparkle in her eyes. He froze, trying to think of a legit excuse to leave before she started ... whatever she was about to start. But he didn't think of it fast enough. When she leaned forward and began playing with his tie, Ed's body shut down. He wasn't used to attention from girls, especially pretty ones and he just didn't know how to react. Frantically, he tried to think of something to say. Hopefully something that would make her let go of his tie. Then she asked if he could be on her side and his brain finally caught on to something. Forcing what he hoped looked like a cavalier smile, Edmund replied. "Lily, I'm from Slytherin. If I don't see the benefit in it for me, you'd better believe that I need a darn good reason to be on your side. That should go without saying." He was being snarky. He knew it and he knew she probably wouldn't like it, but he couldn't help himself. Then she said she and Myrtle were like sisters and Ed was done. No they weren't. And he would know. As she pointed out, he knew what having sisters was like and though the arguing thing was true, her relationship with Myrtle was not anything close to his relationship with his sisters. Still, he didn't want her to see his irritation. Then she might start saying things like that more often. So he rolled his eyes like he didn't care, "Yeah, whatever. Just because you are a sister doesn't mean you know what it's like to have one." Shoot. He hadn't meant to say that. He watched Lily through narrow eyes, entirely unsure how she would react to that. She might laugh it off or get offended, and he was trying to prepare himself for both reactions. Why couldn't he have kept his mouth shut? lily luna potter(OOC: Bahaha, oh Ed ...)

Edmund was always such a difficult soul, which made it all the more fun to give him a hard time. So, as he went on to say there was no benefit for him to pick her side, she had the perfect response prepared. However, she waited for him to answer her questions about 'sisters' first. She chuckled at his snarky little attitude and casually tossed her red hair to one side. "Well, that is a good point. But brothers are the real problem," she wasn't stupid, she had seen how Ed and Wil treated each other. William was in her house, after all.
She took another step closer, "as for the benefits..." she smiled, "there's always a benefit when choosing to be on a pretty girls side of an argument. Especially if that pretty girl is a wolf," she growled and snapped her teeth at him, chuckling. Yes, she was flirting with him and kind of threatening him at the same time. Classic Lily. And no, she wasn't keeping her wolf-ness a secret. Hadn't since the day it happened.

He was relieved. At least Lily hadn't tried to attack him or something because of what he'd said, but when she made a comment about brothers Ed lost the little bit of control he'd attempted to maintain. He tried to keep his face impassive but he knew that he'd failed. She was right. He loved his sisters and could get along with them quite well ... when he was of a mind to. However, Wil? Wil was always the hard one. He never seemed to trust Edmund to do what was right or necessary. Ed constantly felt like he was under scrutiny from his older brother. Not to mention how often he was compared to the oldest Windsor son. He hated it. She was right. Brothers were the real problem, not that he wanted to admit it. He glared, "Maybe, but you weren't talking about your brothers. You were talking about Myrtle and I have a hard time believing she's like a sister or a brother, no matter how bad she may be."He gulped when she stepped closer again, talking about the benefits of being on the side of a pretty girl and then snarling at him. Ah, so the rumors were true. Ed wasn't particularly surprised, nor was he nervous. He and Lily might like to argue with another, they might even disagree on many things, but he wasn't scared of her. Not in the slightest. "Why would a pretty girl being a wolf make any benefits better?" he asked sarcastically. To heck with it. If he was going to make her mad, so be it, but he was done with her messing with him! Then he realized what he just said. He said she was pretty. Why did he have to do that? He kept his panic on the inside, hoping she wouldn't realize his slip-up. He wouldn't be surprised if she did though. lily luna potter

Lily rolled her eyes. As much fun as it was flirting with the kid and messing with him, he could get pretty annoying after only a few minutes. Always having to be right and using that brain of his more than his body. What a Slytherin thing to do.
She shrugged then, deciding not to comment on his little hit back at her bringing up brothers. He was thinking too much, and that was presenting a little problem with the game she was trying to play. She lifted a hand as he went on to ask why a pretty girl wolf would make any benefits better. She placed that hand on his shoulder and then took another step closer, their bodies were only an inch, maybe two apart now. "You think I'm pretty, Ed?" she asked, her voice had dropped down to a sultry whisper.
For a brief moment Adrian crossed her mind.
But just for a second.

Crap. He was in trouble and he didn't know what to do. How were his wits supposed to get him out of this mess? He wasn't used to talking to girls in situations like this and he didn't know how to react. He knew what most guys his age would do, but he wasn't stupid. If either of her brothers even thought he'd done anything with her, he'd be in a world of hurt. And he hadn't even done anything yet! When she put her hand on his shoulder and stepped closer, Ed could feel himself losing it. Her eyes were purely inviting and her tone ... even more so, but why was she doing this? He was used to Lily messing with him; it happened all the time, but never like this. This was completely new and he didn't know how to respond. His mouth opened and closed a few times as he tried to force himself to speak. So embarrassing. So much for him always being in control of his emotions. Finally he cleared his throat. "I- uh, I was just repeating what you said," he forced himself to speak as he stared at her. How could he not? She was only inches away from him and she was more than pretty- she knew that. "... but yeah," he whispered. He didn't really mean to say it, but once it was out there what was he supposed to do? As long as he was hanging himself, he might as well do it properly. "I do." Ed was stiff as he waited for whatever she was going to do. He had absolutely no idea what to expect now. lily luna potter

Being told she was pretty wasn't new to Lily, not in the slightest. She was an had always been incredibly aware of how she looked, and the effect she had on people if she so tried. However, she had thought that Edmunds snarky, cold attitude had developed an immunity to her powers. It seemed they had not. She wasn't expecting that answer out of him, though. So soft, so genuine. She didn't give in to the actual flattering feeling that was rushing through her in that moment. It wasn't necessarily that is was him, but it was nice to hear someone compliment her like that.
She leaned in, ready to bring this little charade full circle. Her bottom lip graced his just slightly before she caught her breath. Adrian was angry, she could feel it. She pulled back, eyes wide. "Maybe next time, cutie," she said, her eyes returning to normal and her devil-may-care attitude came out as if nothing had happened.

Ed could feel himself shutting down as she got closer and closer. What in the world was happening to him? He'd known Lily for years and he knew he didn't have those types of feelings for her. Why did he say that to her? On the other hand he'd never been in a situation like this before. He didn't know what he was supposed to do. Had no idea, so he was just standing there, basically frozen. Then she kissed him. Not a lot, though. In fact, it was hardly a kiss at all, she barely touched him. As she pulled away a little, Ed exhaled in relief. "What makes you think there will be a next time?" he asked sarcastically, relieved that he finally got his voice back. Maybe that wasn't a good thing though. All he wanted to do was get out of this corridor, which wasn't going to happen until she gave him a little more space. First chance he got, he was going to run. lily luna potter (OOC: Sorry, it's been a busy week!)

At his words, Lily chuckled, straightening his tie one more time and stepping back. "Oh, there will be a next time. This was too much fun," she said, chuckling and pulling her hands away dropping them at her sides. She cocked her head to one side, "I've just found a new way to mess with you, Windsor, and I won't forget it," a wicked grin adorned her face accompanied by a chuckle and she took yet another step back, gesturing down the hall past her in the direction he was originally headed.
"You're free to go," she said, raising an eyebrow at him. It was one hundred percent his decision whether he'd stick around and bicker with her or whether he'd take the escape, either way, Lily knew that somewhere, somehow, Adrian was ready to kill her...

The further away she moved from him, the angrier Edmund was at himself. How had he lost his head like that? What was he thinking, especially with Lily Potter? He knew not to mess with her and, more importantly, to not let her know when she got to him. He'd just broken his own rules. He wanted to get back at her someway, but at the same time he wanted their interaction to be over already. It was too ... awkward. Still, no matter his feelings, he never could control his mouth. "Fun is not how I'd describe it," he muttered under his breath. However, at her next comment Edmund found himself willing to extend the conversation. He heard her continue, teasingly offer him his escape that only moments before he'd wanted desperately. Only now he was composed. He didn't need to escape anymore. Not now that he had a real question. He ignored her comment and looked towards the ceiling in exasperation. "And why do you want to mess with me in the first place? Other people are a whole lot more fun. All you and I ever do is argue. Don't you get that enough with family?" A part of him was trying to convince her to leave him alone, but the other part was truly curious. Why did she enjoy teasing her so much? And he knew he wasn't being nice, bringing her family into the conversation, but he knew her family wasn't perfect. They had their arguments, just like everybody. lily luna potter

Ooh, so he wanted to go there, did he? As he finished his little hit in her direction, Lily rolled her head on her shoulders, letting the muscles crack a bit as she took a step forward. So, she could continue being a seductress and trick him again, she could use brute strength and shove him back against the wall-possibly breaking something, she could whip out her wand and challenge him, or she could pretend that she didn't care about anything he had to say.
She started with the nonchalant approach. "You're fun to mess with because we argue. That's funny. As for my family," she shrugged again, deciding to go with brute force on this one. She lifted her right arm with incredibly speed, using it to smack into his chest in an attempt to slam him against the wall. If he held his ground, well, good for him. Her face was inches from his now, but nowhere near in the same way as before. "My brothers are the ones who fight in this family. I'm the one that keeps us together. I'm the one that makes sure they don't kill each other and I'm the one who's giving my mom a fair chance. So," she slowly released him, letting out a breath, "I suggest you take my invitation to walk away." Sure, she was overprotective and bipolar and she wasn't going to change that, even if it made her look crazy. @edmund

Hmm. This was unexpected. Sure, he'd wondered if he was going to upset her one of these times, but he'd finally done it. Not that making her angry was his goal, but it was definitely something he'd need to remember. Speaking poorly of her family upset her. Duly noted. While he was surprised by her response, he refused to let her see that. He hid his emotions carefully as he waited for her to release him, watching her eyes carefully. The anger there was deep, familiar to him. He felt that way quite frequently, though it was generally caused by his family, not in their behalf. When she let him go and stepped away, Edmund took a deep breath. He'd upset her and he didn't want to make it worse, so he'd leave, but he had to say something. So he did. "That makes you better than me," he said with a small, rueful smile meant to ridicule himself. "You pull your family together while all I do is pull mine apart, whether I mean to or not. Probably one of the reasons why I have a hard time believing that anyone finds me fun," he finished, pulling it all together and wrapping it with a nice little bow. That was as close to an apology as she would ever get and more of one than he gave to most people. He started walking away down the hallway. No point in staying any longer. lily luna potter (the end, yes?)
