“We have another sister, but apparently her other plans were more important.” Jamie informed Maxima in a lull in the conversation, her disdain for Odette obvious. The only reason the eldest girl wore the Greyback name was because she had wanted to find their father. The notion of their family obviously was too emotional for someone who obviously took after their father in social skills. With that much said, she busied herself with ordering her drink. Butterbeer was her normal go-to, but since she expected the others to order the same thing, Jamie asked for cherry syrup and soda. It was close enough to the Muggle strawberry soda that she adored that the Hufflepuff found herself thinking of her mother as she sipped at it.
“School is fine.” Jamie replied cautiously when Aaron asked the question. Somehow she didn’t think Lily would be pleased with it. “N.E.W.T.s are the worst thing ever to be invented, and I’m not even taking them until next year.” She declared. Maybe Aaron would be too busy thinking about her N.E.W.T.s to think about Adrian or Lily’s O.W.L.s. At least Max didn’t have any standardized tests to study for until the next semester started. She was lucky to be the youngest, Jamie thought. Being the middle child was easier than she thought it would be though, probably because only half of her older siblings were present. “Quidditch practices are petering off for the year since the tests are coming up.” She offered, hoping that it would ignite a mutual passion of at least some of the people in the room. Jamie was trying her best to help Aaron in keeping everyone interested in their reunion, but it was harder than she thought it would be. Were all family reunions like this?

Odette could not believe she was actually about to do this.
Aaron McClendon, famous Quidditch player and nice guy extraordinaire (oh, and her half brother!) had somehow convinced Odette into joining him at the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. He didn't even need to say why... she knew why. Luckily for them, Odette had just finished with a job that had led her to Hogsmeade so she was already there... otherwise she probably wouldn't have shown up. The idea of facing the people who were related to her was a scary one. Especially since the majority of them shared her last name... the name of a killer.
Odette entered the Three Broomsticks with her arms folded across her chest, feeling very reserved and out of her element. She did not do well in these sort of situations... that much was apparent from the run-ins she had had with two of her younger siblings. Aside from Aaron, Odette didn't really get along with any of them. Adrian, the Gryffindor, had run away from her the moment they had figured out who the other was, and Jamie... well, Odette had basically made her cry. They certainly weren't on good terms, that much was certain. So when Odette climbed the stairs to the private room upstairs, she found herself... oddly nervous. And nervous wasn't something Odette did well.
The curse breaker hovered outside the door and listened to the voices inside for a moment before finally entering and looking around. She closed the door behind her and slowly entered the room to make her way to stand near Aaron. As she walked, she noticed a red head she wasn't familiar with and a dark haired girl that she got the feeling was the other Greyback that Aaron had mentioned. Something about her... she definitely looked it. Odette didn't smile, but nodded in greeting to Aaron as she made herself as comfortable as she could, arms still crossed tightly in front of her.

Adrian hissed as Lily stepped on his foot, flinching and glaring at her. He said nothing to her though, just glared. You know, usual Adrian sulking. Nothing to surprising. As Max spoke up though, he tore his attention away from his hand and to his... younger sister. He raised an eyebrow. "You've always smelled to nice to be a boy." He blurted out. Ah, crap. He'd basically admitted to having known about her existence this whole time, and intentionally avoided her. Well, wouldn't surprise anyone. Jamie had to deal with the same behavior. And, of course, Adrian thus far had failed to realized that he'd yet to actually introduce himself to Max. Oh well.
As the other sister was mentioned though, Adrian froze. Crap. Her. A few moments later he slunk down in his chair more. "I'm fine if she doesn't show...." There was enough people as is! And besides... If they were talking about who he thought they were talking about.... He'd rather not meet her again. A moment later though, and he tensed up again, Because the door was opening and that could only mean one thing. A thing of softly spoken German profanities slipped form his lips as he slunk even more, trying to go as unnoticed as possible.

Well, Adrian though Max smelled nice. That was interesting. Lily gave a low whistle as Jamie spoke of another sister. Her tone did not sound pleasant about her and that caused Lily to chuckle a little bit. She also lightly kicked Adrian under the table again, very lightly this time though, as he said he would prefer if his sister didn’t show. At the mention of school Jamie spoke first and Lily rolled her eyes, ”school is school,” she said casually after Jamie had mentioned the NEWTS. Lily was not looking forward to those… she didn’t mention her own O.W.L.S, that was one of her least favorite subjects. School, that is. ”Jamie here is taking like eight thousand classes,” Lily said, gesturing to the Huffle with her thumb. At the mention of Quidditch Lily perked up a bit, ”aw, yes. Sadly things are winding down… do you play, Max?” she turned toward the youngest girl. The room suddenly seemed to freeze over and Lily spun around to look at the door. The girl standing there must have been the last sister. Lily watched as she made her way over to the table, nodded at Aaron, and made herself comfortable. Lily was amazed at how speechless she had become at the sight of her. She was beautiful, poised and yet somehow spunky and tough looking. Lily realized something then. She was in love. (Not in a romantic way... mostly.) ”I’m Lily,” she suddenly burst out before widening her eyes and finding herself leaning instinctively closer to Adrian. She donned her face with an awkward smile and kept her eyes on the newcomer. @adrian @jamie maxima ruqayyah greyback @aaron @odette

“Drinks, yes,” Aaron echoed, and—with his being the oldest of them, by all appearances—so it was decided. When the waiter reached them, he placed his own order and added that the drinks would be on him. That was nice of him, at least, though Max had to wonder if he felt awkward in a room full of teenagers.
Maxima ordered a butterbeer for herself, then looked at Aaron as he addressed her. “I’ll admit I wasn't quite clear on whether were a boy or a girl, but it didn't really matter to me.” He didn’t have much choice, though, did he? None of them did, except for their so-called “alpha”, Lily Potter, who seemed to be there out of the goodness of her own heart.
“You’ve always smelled too nice to be a boy.” She might not have known his name, but at least she knew that her half-brother recognized her smell. That was what everyone wanted to hear, wasn’t it? He could have just said that he knew she was a girl already by the fact that her given name was actually Maxima; that would have been fine by her. He’d gotten near enough to her to know what she smelled like before this meeting, too, even though Max couldn’t recall a time when she’d ever spoken with him. It was strange—in more ways than one, for sure—and it made Max a bit uncomfortable. She shifted in her seat at the comment, giving the young man a wary look.
“We have another sister, but apparently her other plans were more important,” Jamie chimed in, and Max gave a slight nod of acknowledgement. There was another Greyback half-sibling, another sister, besides Jamie. She didn’t blame the other girl for not showing up, though Max didn’t think that their half-sister was of school age. She would have known about her, probably, the way she knew of the Gryffindor who knew her by her scent.
The Gryffindor had sunk down into his chair. “I'm fine if she doesn't show…” he commented, though Max didn’t think that anyone had actually asked him.
Aaron seemed to sense the awkwardness and cut in. “So,” he began, “how has school been going?”
Jamie was the first to reply. “School is fine,” she said. “N.E.W.T.s are the worst thing ever to be invented, and I’m not even taking them until next year.” That seemed to be the consensus of most of the Sixth and Seventh Years, noted Max, who wouldn’t be taking her O.W.L.s until the end of her next year at school.
“School is school,” was Lily’s view on it. “Jamie here is taking like eight thousand classes,” she continued, though that was a definite exaggeration. There was only so much time in one day, after all.
“Quidditch practices are petering off for the year since the tests are coming up,” added Jamie, and Max was reminded that Jamie, too, was a Quidditch player.
”Aw, yes. Sadly, things are winding down…” Lily replied, sounding genuinely disappointed. “Do you play, Max?”
Having never taken an interest in Quidditch or even her Flying classes as a First Year, Max had little to contribute to that conversation. “No, I—”
She was about to continue when, suddenly, she could see the Gryffindor boy tensing up as the door slowly opened and shut. A young woman with dark hair was now in their presence. Max wasn’t sure what the Gryffindor was looking so guilty for, though she thought she heard him say something after that. The other young woman must have been the sister Jamie had mentioned, and Lily seemed positively agog.
“I’m Lily,” she introduced herself, before any of the newcomer’s half-siblings had gotten the opportunity to do so.
Their half-sister didn’t seem quite so receptive, nodding to Aaron and keeping her arms crossed. Oddly enough, she seemed to be familiar with the rest of them. At least, that was what Max gathered from the Gryffindor’s behavior and Jamie’s comment. Sensing that she, of all people, was going to have to be the one to make conversation, Max began tentatively. “So…” How was she supposed to do this? Lily, who seemed to be the most talkative one of the lot of them, seemed as if she had fallen in love at first sight. “You’re our other sister, then?” she asked, hoping that might get her talking.

Odette stood, tensed, next to Aaron as her eyes roamed around the room. First they settled on Jamie but they didn't stay there long enough for Odette to even see the look on her face. Every time she had run into Jamie it had not been pleasant and she was sure this time was to be no different. Her eyes found Adrian who had sunk down into his chair and the sight of him doing so just made Odette's eyes narrow into a small glare. The one time she had met him, she had not been impressed by how quick he was to run away. He seemed like nothing short of a punk to Odette. Then the red head spoke up, or rather blurted out her name. Odette raised an eyebrow at the girl, having never seen her before. "Odette," she replied blankly before then looking over to the other dark haired girl in the room, clearly the youngest out of all of them.
This had to be Maxima. Odette had yet to meet the youngest half-sibling but she had heard about her from Aaron. Then she spoke up, surprisingly, and asked Odette if she was "the other sister." Behind her closed lips, Odette's teeth clenched and she was sure it must have been obvious in her jaw. She didn't respond but instead just nodded. This was the only sibling that she had not yet soured with the bad attitude she had and for some reason... a part of her was telling her to keep it that way.

School and Quidditch talk was always fun, but something caused them all to freeze mid conversation. Awe, the arrival of Odette. That sure caused a bit of a stir among them. Aaron, of course, greeted her with a smile and a nod. He had been the one to invite her, after all, and he felt that he was the one out of all his siblings, who had known her so far, who was the most... understanding of the eldest girl in the family. Lily seemed to explode internally for a moment and Aaron wasn't sure why whereas Adrian seemed to shrink even more, if that was even possible. He gently placed a hand on Jamies shoulder before breaking the silence after Odette gave her name. "Glad you could make it," he said, completely and one hundred percent genuine. Even though she caused quite a stir, he was grateful that she was there. Heck, the reunion was now complete and, hopefully, wouldn't break into utter disaster. "We were just talking about school. How many classes are you taking then, Jamie?" he asked, turning his attention toward the blonde, unsurprised by the look on her face... @jamie @odette maxima ruqayyah greybacklily luna potter@adrian (I love taggin this thread all first names yaass)

Jamie was not pleased by this turn of events. Of course it would be her luck that her half-sister would show up right after Jamie berated her for blowing the whole thing off, and of course no one else would detest Odette with the same fervor that Jamie did. The Hufflepuff had thought she was going to find some sort of solidarity with Lily, but no, the red-head was fawning over Odette like she was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Adrian was trying to blend into the wall and Aaron actually looked happy to see their half-sister, though Jamie couldn’t find a reason why that would be so. Maxima was the only one who hadn’t met Odette before, and even she was more than happy to strike up conversation with the soulless monster that was Odette Greyback.
She was relieved, to say the least, when the conversation moved on from Odette’s abrupt entrance, though Jamie wasn’t sure how she felt about the attention being turned onto her and her overly strenuous course schedule. “I’m just taking nine classes.” She said, trying to make it sound like it wasn’t that big of a deal. She didn't want to show off, especially now that Odette was here and ready to judge her every word. “And flying special skills doesn’t really count because there’s not homework and I’m not going to have to take an examination on it at the end of seventh year. I like Potions the best.” She cleared her throat, looking from side to side to take in the faces of the assembly gathered before her. “What about you guys?” She asked, hoping the question didn’t sound as forced or as vague out loud as it did in her head. This whole family business was a lot harder than she had expected.

Odette sort of pursed her lips for a brief moment in response to Aaron saying he was glad she could make it. The room was tense, there was no denying it. And Odette wondered for a moment what the red head's place in the room was. She couldn't believe that her arrival had caused Jamie and Adrian to react in such a way but then again, she didn't really have the right to be surprised. She was the one who had treated them so badly. Especially Jamie.
When the conversation had finally been directed from Odette, she kept her eyes anywhere but her siblings. Folding her arms across her chest, she did her best not to listen to what Jamie was saying but she actually caught every word. When she mentioned flying special skills, Odette instinctively made a small, little sarcastic chuckle. "Flying run in the family or something?" She asked sarcastically and looked at Aaron, though it was directed at the whole room. She just wasn't really comfortable looking at anyone but Aaron.
