Hannah could feel it coming.
That intense Look, the one saved simply for her brothers had arrived and was fixed on Carson as he spoke. Carson was right to add the clarification about the adoption. She stood there silent for a moment until Lelia spoke up. Hannah turned her attention to her and her face immediately switched to a gracious smile. She stepped forward again, reaching out to take one of Lelias hands in both of hers. "Lelia, it's a joy to meet you. And you, Baylee," she said, looking down at the girl.
She turned around as Jayden entered, stepping aside as he introduced himself and as Phil, dumbstruck, repeated the question of Carson marital status. Hannah turned to stand beside Carson, putting a hand on his shoulder. "It looks like he is, Phil. And he and I are going to have a nice chat after we get his family settled in," at that her hand tightened the grip on her brothers shoulder.
Awe, big sister powers.

Work work.
Neville strode through the Leaky Cauldron, one hand holding a mug of coffee, the other holding up a parchment with several communications between Aurors and scribbles from Ron and Harry outlining their thoughts on the subjects. He wasn't a full-time Auror any more, and he was never as good at deductions as Harry or Ron had been, but the current situation called for everyone to look at information. Any burst of inspiration would help, and Harry was keeping all of his trusted Aurors in the loop, and that meant Neville. He'd been down in the sub-basement, tending to the field of Devil's Snare that he used as a last-resort weapon if the Cauldron itself was attacked, and now he was heading back upstairs to find Percival and—
Neville froze mid-step.
Eyes finally left the paper to sweep the room he was in. He hadn't felt any real malice or dark intentions, which would have gotten his attention sooner, but the tension in the air was impossible to miss. Carson looked like he was being sentenced to death, and there was a tiny little girl wrapped up in his lap, a woman who had to be the mother standing there, both his sons looked like they'd accidentally lit fireworks right in front of their faces, and Hannah's expression was entirely too serene to mean anything but good news. Adding all of this up, Neville came to one single conclusion:
He did not want to know.
The herbologist resumed the pace he'd had before, attempting to just continue on through the room as though he'd noticed nothing.

Being home for the weekend after all that had just happened felt good. It was good to be surrounded by her family who were all safe and all there. The attack had really done a number on everyone and people were still out there running free or kidnapped, but being home just felt right. It gave Alice the feeling of what was to come: a summer of good things. Nothing could have been worse than this past year. And now that it was practically over, she felt that all of the bad things and surprises were too.
But she had hoped too soon.
Alice was just descendng the stairs to the main lobby of the Leaky Cauldron when she saw before her her entire family and two strangers. Alice's eyes were slightly wide for a moment, wondering if anything bad had happened but then she saw her father continue on walking and the looks of everyone's faces. There was definitely nothing bad going on here. The Hufflepuff's brow furrowed in confusion as she slowly continued to walk down the stairs and made her way to stand just behind her mother, next to Uncle Carson. "Mum, what's going on?" She asked quietly as her eyes fell on Jayden and a young girl. Her eyes widened slightly again as they then looked at the woman, who was looking at Uncle Carson and almost all at once, it seemed to make sense.
Uncle Carson had some explaining to do.

Hannah was always aware of where people were in the Cauldron, especially if they were in the same room as she. As soon as Neville came into her radar, there was no way he was getting out. It was cute that he thought he could sneak past, really, though he really should know better by now. She lifted a hand, pointing at him as he tried to move past her. Even with his eyes on the paper, he would know she was talking to him. "Darling, where are you going?" she asked, her voice sickeningly sweet. She didn't even take her other hand off Carson, nor did she take her eyes off of Alice, who had just arrived behind her.
"Alice, you have a cousin apparently," she said, gesturing to the little girl and then, finally, releasing Carsons shoulder and stepping aside so Alice could get a better look. "This is Lelia and Baylee," she said. Her smile turned genuine as she looked back at the girls. She didn't blame them at all for the awkwardness of the situation. If anything she was excited to have them. Carson was the one she would be interrogating later.

@everyone (so many) This was not at all what Carson had been expecting to come home to. And he expected most things, that was part of his job and it bled over into his life. He held Baylee on his lap, relishing in the fact that his baby girl was safe in his arms, when Lelia stepped up behind him and kissed his head. She said his name, and it made his heart settle down, his nerves relax and his tension drain. Though he wanted her and Baylee safe, if she was here he could do anything. As Hannah put her hand on his shoulder, a small piece of tension spread from her hand, this was not going to be pleasant. But then, he supposed it had to come eventually. He opened his mouth to say something else, but Jayden was giving flowers to Baylee (who graciously accepted them, and then proceeded to pick the petals off and put each on on his shoulder in a nice row), and Phil was being confused. Then Neville came in. And promptly tried to leave, evading Hannah's gaze unsuccessfully. Last to come in was Alice. And the gang was all there. "Hannah, I'll tell you everything you want to know after I get Lelia and Baylee settled in, okay?" he promised his sister. He could tell from the way Lelia's hand was on his shoulder that she was exhausted, and Baylee must have been too other wise she would have jumped from his arms minutes ago. Standing up, he wrapped his arm around Lelia's waist and shifted Baylee to his hip.

Lelia felt her head spinning a bit at the sudden influx of people, names and faces blurring together. She recognized each name. Alice, that was the oldest. Jayden was the youngest. And the slightly older man on the opposite side of the room being flagged down by Hannah must be Neville, her husband. She'd heard plenty about them, seen the letters Carson had received from his family. She knew that Hannah ran the Leaky Cauldron, it was why she'd known of the place's existence. But she had not planned on telling Hannah who she was, or her relationship with Hannah's brother. That, technically speaking, they were sisters-in-law. No, it wasn't her place to tell them. But it was out now, and they only thing they could do was move on.
Lelia smiled at Jayden, accepting the flower. "You're as charming as I've heard." She replied, before she could comment on what he called her though, she spotted what Baylee was doing to the flower she'd been given and sighed. Of course she pulled the petals off. And now she was looking and Lelia and holding out a hand for the flower she'd been given! Could you say no to those puppy dog eyes though? Offering Jayden an apologetic look, she handed it over, and Baylee gave it the same treatment as the other, looking far to pleased with herself. "Very pretty, bumble-bee." Was Lelia's only soft remark.
As Carson stood and placed an arm around her waist, telling Hannah that he'd explain later, Lelia took in each person in the room. Her husband's family. Technically her family. Though it would probably take some getting use to for them. The last one she looked at was Hannah, who looked both angry and happy. "Please don't be too hard on him." While she said one thing, it sounded more like 'Go easy, I still want him in one piece'.

@carson && @lelia && @philiplongbottom && @hannah && @superluigi64 && @alice "You're as charming as I've heard." he grinned and shook his head a little. he'd never thought of himself .. okay he'd be lying if he tried to sell that he'd never thought it. but it just came so naturally to him. wanting to make people smile and for them to be happy and if people wanted to call that charming they were welcome too. "well i do aim to please" he said with a light smile as he dropped his arm from his uncles shoulder and he looked back at leila as phil stood there dumbstruck. "forgive my older brother .. sometimes his brain fails him" he said, joking of course having caught his brothers eye roll when he had given out the flowers. though his attention was drawn suddenly to what baylee was doing on her father's shoulder. "oh that looks cool .. " he watched her place the ones from her mother's flower with them. "watch this" he said softly to the girl as he blew softly on the petals so they flew into the air, pulled his wand from his pocket and waved it lightly, casting a spell softly that would make the flower petals dance in patterns before the girls eyes and around her. okay so he wasn't supposed to use magic but .. it would be worth any punishment. he glanced up as his father tried to walk through the room without being noticed and his sister joined them. well everyone was here now. he stepped back and waved his wand quickly to have the flower petals land back on carson's shoulder before putting his wand back into his pocket and he folded his arms over his chest a little. "i think it's great." he said as he looked at hannah. he hoped she wouldn't go too crazy on his uncle when she finally got him alone so she would tear him up over not telling her. he caught the air between the adults though, it wasn't a hard thing to do and he rubbed the back of his neck and hoped carson and lelia wouldn't mind what he said next. "hey baylee .. if your mum say's yes .. do you wanna see a room filled with flowers?" he asked.

“Darling, where are you going?”
Ack.
Neville immediately wheeled around as though he had been heading straight toward her the entire time. “To support you, of course, dear wife.” The words might be meant to placate her, but he rolled up the scroll and slipped it into his robes nonetheless and wrapped a comforting arm around his wife. He knew Hannah. She was very rarely truly angry with someone she cared about. The anger she displayed was usually born of worry. It was her way of reacting to things. Much as he might want to avoid the situation that Hannah had just spelled out (since, frankly, it wasn’t really his business what Carson did), she really would need him here. And Carson might too. The man was overprotective to the extreme, but absolutely nobody would attack the Cauldron while Neville and Hannah were within its walls.
He held out a free hand to the woman. “I suppose introductions are in order before Hannah throttles her brother. I’m Neville Longbottom. Nice to meet you. And this,” he turned, gesturing to Alice, “is Alice, our oldest. You’ve met Phil and Jayden already, I see. Rory and Andy aren’t here right now, you’ll have to meet them later, I’m afraid.”

As Carson repeated what Hannah had said, assuring her, she nodded her and took a hand off his shoulder. In all the confusion of the world and this, Hannah could see the blessing in bringing more people into the family. Especially a child so young and a woman from a completely different background then they both magically and culturally. "Okay," she said, reaching the same hand back to put pat Alice's arm beside her. As Lelia asked Hannah go easy on Carson, she simple gave the woman a smile and a nod. She would go easy, of course, she just really needed an explanation. Neville was right to change course and stand by her. As he put an arm around her she felt an intense sense of relief overcome her. Her shoulders relaxed a bit and she found herself leaning into him slightly.
She didn't chuckle when he mentioned the throttling of her brother. She nodded as he mentioned their children, all five of them now. "Rory and Andy are great girls, I'm sure they'd love to meet you both," she said, looking down at Baylee to smile then. As Jayden asked Baylee if she could see the room filled with flowers, Hannah smiled even wider. Being the youngest was hard on him, she was sure, not having any younger siblings to look after. He'd be very good at that and now he had an opportunity to do that. That was another thing about this situation that made Hannah excited about all this.
