Life as a bartender at Club Indigo wasn't terribly demanding, but Uriah had taken it upon himself to rise up above the other bartenders and take on a heavier load of the responsibilities around the bar. In many ways, he liked to consider himself the head bartender even though he held no such title. He would boss his coworkers around constantly and would always be making the fancy drinks in very show-offy ways to gain the attention of bar patrons and therefore their tips. Perhaps it wasn't the ideal life but Uriah got by.
It also came with its perks. Such as a place to stay for almost free, good company when he wanted it, luxurious parties with the right people, and of course hoards of beautiful women that came and went. Uriah would often single in on one at the bar and woo her with his bartending tricks (and the little extra something that Alastor had them put in the drinks.) Such was the Club Indigo life. Uriah enjoyed wooing different women every now and then and showing them around the club, eventually leading up to a personal tour of one of Club Indigo's suites. It would often fade to black after that.
Tonight was no different as the music was playing, the indigo and pink flashing lights were all over the dance floor, and people were pouring in. Uriah began mixing drinks for people at the bar, all looking to have a good time. He would converse with them kindly as he did so, all for the tips at the end of the night. Plus schmoozing a little didn't hurt either. Uriah's eyes were then distracted by the light that briefly shone off of the back of a dark head of hair. He returned his focus to the drink he was mixing in front of him then. Perhaps whoever the long hair belonged to would find their way over to the bar...

Club. Indigo. The one place where she could get some public interaction Sort of. She had to disguise herself a bit in order to go out at all. She looked completely unlike herself right now, or at least dressed up that way. Her hair was down around her face, which she didn't often do. Her black dress was tight and her make up was heavy. She liked things simple and classic not elaborate and strange. The dress was too short for her liking and she tugged on the edges. She felt someone's eyes on the back of her head and spun around, making eye contact with the bartender. She recognized him, of course, he was working a lot. She slowly crossed over to him, not saying a word until she arrived right in front of him. "Did you need something?" she asked, her voice slightly harsh. @uriah

Uriah had been so captivated by the light reflecting off of her hair that he had not noticed what the girl was wearing... he had to admit, it was a bit distracting. He took a mental note, telling himself that if she didn't come to the bar he would have to find her later. He needed to see that girl up close.
But his prayers were answered as the dark haired girl had finally approached the bar. However her attitude was a little less than friendly as she harshly asked if he needed anything from her. He'd seen her around the club a bit these last few days, but Uriah was completely unaware of just who she was, wearing all that makeup. The bartender was aloof as he leaned over the counter to speak more directly to her over the music. "Just your name," he said to her, a wicked smirk appearing on his face. "That way I know what to call you later when we're in my room." Uriah was a confident and blunt individual and flirting was nothing new to him. But he got the feeling that this girl wasn't going to be as easy to woo.
Oh, well. Uriah liked a challenge.

He leaned forward, and Elaine refrained from her instinct to lean back. She held her ground, standing right in front of the counter. His words surprised her. She had never really been hit on or flirted with like that before, and it was a strange feeling. She was sure it was mostly due to the way that she looked right now, and she wasn't sure if she wanted that kind of attention. Still, if she was going to play the part... but she wasn't sure she knew how to play the part. "Awe, aren't you confident?" she said, her voice coming out as a sort of hiss as she too leaned on the bar toward him. "I don't believe in charity, sir. You have to earn something like that," she tried to ignore the strange tug in her stomach at what that could have implied. "The name, I mean."@crystal2 (lolol she'll probably have to give him a fake name until he figures out it's her hahah)

Uriah had been rebuffed by plenty of girls in the past. Turns out not too many girls want to get with a bartender but one would be surprised by the amount that would. Uriah watched the dark haired girl carefully as he awaited a response and was impressed to see her not even flinch at his words. Instead, she had a snarky comment to throw back at him. He raised his eyebrows but still smirked all the while. "Why, yes, yes I am," he nodded, a light chuckle escaping his lips. It was good to see his confidence shone through. Uriah hoped it would show others he wasn't one to be trifled with.
"Oh, really?" Uriah inquired, his smirk growing wider. He let out another chuckle and shook his head before moving away from the girl momentarily. He turned around to grab a martini glass off of the back shelf and then turned around, and standing a few feet away from the girl he began to make a drink. The drink he was making looked complicated to the untrained eye but to the bartenders at Club Indigo, it was second nature. He quickly began to mix the drink with ease and then poured it into the glass, revealing the light purple colored drink. He reached into a small container under the bar for a curled orange slice and put it on the rim of the glass and then with the same smirk, walked back to the girl and placed it in front of her.
"On the house," he nodded at her once. "Now, how 'bout you tell me that name?" He asked her. As Uriah looked down at this girl, who was considerably shorter than he (but then again, who wasn't when he stood at 6"3,) he realized there was something a bit more familiar about her than just being a regular bar patron...

She should have known he'd take her little comment as a challenge. It sort of was one, really. As he mixed the drink she watched him, lifting herself up onto the barstool to have a seat. It was place in front of her, offered as 'on the house'. He then asked for that name again as he loomed over her. He was quite tall, she couldn't ignore that. She raised an eyebrow at him, not answering as she lifted the drink to her lips and took a long sip. It wasn't bad, actually, she lifted the glass to survey the drink before placing it down. "It's Mina," she said, lying of course. She couldn't give a real name, not in her situation. She was a convict, after all. "The drink is good," she complimented, implying that it had earned the name well... at least the fake one. "So, what makes you so confident? Got a lot of conquests here?" she scoffed. @uriah

A smirk slowly reappeared on Uriah's face when the girl seemed to accept the drink and take a sip. The signature drink of Club Indigo, per Alastor's instruction and precise engineering, had a special ingredient that sometimes... clouded the drinker's intentions; just enough for them to let loose and have a good time. He hoped to see a less uptight version of the girl in front of him, whom had just introduced herself as Mina.
Uriah's smirk widened, but it became less wicked and more personable when she complimented the drink. "Club specialty," he said, gesturing slightly with one hand to their surroundings. The drink had really been a part of the reason that the club was doing so well. With people letting loose and having such a good time thanks to the drink, they always seemed to come back for some more. Uriah had made many regulars at the bar because of it. It was really paying to be employed by Alastor...
The bartender shrugged at the girl, still wearing a confident smirk all the while. "Just been here a while," he said, resting his hands and leaning on them on the counter. "The atmosphere of this place just... really does a number on your overall attitude, as I'm sure you'll soon agree." He nodded once at her, raising his eyebrows. Who came to a club with the intention of looking down on everyone and having a bad time?

He had a good point about the club affecting the way you saw things. She was positive there was some sort of euphoria spell on the whole place, which was pretty brilliant as a business tactic on the whole. She rolled her neck side to side, placing the drink back on the counter. "In all honesty, Mr. Confident, I don't really see it," she lied, looking up at him through highly magnified and beautified eyelashes. Desi had way too much fun dolling her up, and Elaine still wasn't entire thrilled every time she caught a wink of her reflecting somewhere, like in the guys eyes.
She looked away, at the crowd, and then turned back to him casually. "So, do I get your name then?"

Uriah could not help himself as he watched the girl carefully; she rolled her neck around and Uriah knew the drink was working its magic. Her words said otherwise, however, and Uriah let a humble smirk dawn his facial features. He hew he would have to be floating her another drink shortly, but for now he had to work his charm. "You will," he replied simply with a wink.
As the girl known as 'Mina' turned around to face the crowd, Uriah heard an order from another patron and began to make their drink. Then Mina addressed him again, at last asking for his own name. Uriah just smirked as he looked down at the drink he was making, letting a good pause sit after her question. He slid the other club goer their drink and then stopped to stand in front of 'Mina' again. "Uriah," he nodded up at her. "Been working here since it opened so if you need anything, I'm your guy. I'm sort of got tenure here." He shrugged casually. Being in 'cahoots' with the owner did have its perks...
Finally, her familiarity couldn't be ignored any longer. "Have we met before...?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her. "And that isn't just some cheesy pick up line; I've got some leagues better than that. But you just look very familiar." @crystal2

There was that confidence again. His confidence that she would give into the nature of this place, the spell that it cast on the senses. As he said that, so sure, Elaine simply smiled at him, giving a tiny shake of her head as if she wasn't even convincing herself anymore. The drink was starting to put a teensy spin on her vision, but in a good way...
Uriah was his name and he had worked here since it opened. That meant he must have been rather close to Alastor, at least enough that he trusted him to work at the club for this long. Then he asked if they'd met before and Elaine pulled back slightly, her heart starting to pound in her chest. He recognized her, which was a bad thing, right? She turned away from him for a moment, pretending to be suddenly interested in looking back at the crowd. "I guess I just have one of those faces, really. I get that a lot," she lied again. She wasn't going to give herself away, she was strictly told that she couldn't do that and she one hundred percent agreed with it. Still, she really liked being herself, she was proud of her name. She turned back to him, leaning forward so her eyes were level with his and her face was only about four inches away from his. "Unless, you really do think we've met?" a part of her wanted him to figure it out. Her eyes were really the only thing that screamed Elaine on her right now. The make up was heavy, sure, but her eyes were the same.

When the dark haired girl flashed him a smile, Uriah returned the gesture. He could tell that the drink was officially getting to her and it brought a sense of pride to Uriah, as it always did when he could see the drink Alastor had created begin to work it's magic on the patrons of the bar. It was a rewarding perk to see people loosen up and have a good time, which was all Uriah truly sought in life.
Uriah raised an eyebrow as Mina turned her head back to look at the crowd. She claimed her familiarity was just "one of those faces" but Uriah sensed there was something else about her that he recognized. "I resent that. You certainly don't have just 'any old face,'" he smirked. Uriah didn't move as the girl was suddenly only a few inches away from his own, and instead he looked her in the eyes and narrowed his eyes at her trying to determine where he had seen those eyes before... Finally, he let his head tilt slightly to the right as he continued to look into her eyes. "I do," he nodded at her slowly.
It was a hard one... trying to figure out where he had seen those eyes. Then something hit him, like clarity... he felt as if he had last seen such eyes behind the holes of a mask. Perhaps that was why he had not noticed right away, but Uriah felt like he had finally made the connection. When he had seen those eyes, it had been the night he himself had carried her back to the club for Alastor from Hogwarts... Uriah now dawned a blank face as he was the first to break away from "Mina" as he quietly began to make another drink except this time he put out two glasses. Then he turned around and from the shelf of liquors behind him, he pulled down a bottle of firewhiskey and poured some into the two glasses. He put his right hand around one of them and slid the other across from him to "Mina." He lowered his head as he lifted the glass to his mouth. "Drink," he urged with a small nod. "After the year you've had, I'd say you need it." He raised both of his eyebrows at her as he took a drink himself.
This girl who had worked so closely with Alastor within the school... it was clear now why she was familiar. And it was also clear as to why she had disgused herself and given him a false name. If caught, she would be facing a life behind bars in Azkaban. And Uriah wasn't about to bring attention to that fact.

Her lip curled up into a smile as he said she didn't have just any old face. She had to hand it to him, he was pretty good at this seducing thing or whatever it was he was trying to do. Then he stared into her eyes and she willed him to figure it out. She got a rush from it, a burst of heat starting from her stomach at the thought of this stranger knowing her secret. Well, he wasn't a stranger anymore since she had a name. Uriah. Finally, his head tilted to the side and he declared that he really did think he knew her. She knew that he had figured it out before he even spoke about the year she had had, or prompted her to take another drink. She did. A nice long sip. She felt that strange dizzy feeling coming up again. The one she had felt in the past when her family had a little too much wine with dinner. She hadn't really experienced it at higher levels, though. She down the rest of the glass. There was a first time for everything. "So, Uriah," she said his name as if to tease him about the fact that she had given him a fake name before. "What do you desire? In life, I mean," a seemingly innocent question. @uriah ('mina' is totes an inside joke between them now it's her sexy alter ego. later on he can be like 'so where's mina when I need her' hahahahahahHHAHAHA)

This girl was Elaine Dupree. Alastor's chosen "right hand woman" for all intents and purposes, and very likely wanted by the Ministry of Magic. It was no wonder she had given him a false name. When he had first seen her, she had had much bigger things in front of her so it was no surprise she hadn't recognized him as a fellow Purifier. A wicked half smirk appeared on Uriah's face now as he realized exactly who was sitting in front of him and thought about the things she had done to further the cause they were both fighting for. Elaine had to be a very powerful and intelligent young woman to commit the things she had done.
And Uriah liked that.
When the girl he now knew to be Elaine said his name, Uriah's smirk widened and he finally took a drink of the firewhiskey he had poured for himself. It was nice to be able to drink on the job in these kind of circumstances. What did he desire in life? Well, his current conquest, he was thinking, may be standing right before him but he decided to keep that to himself for just a bit longer. "I'm very pleasure-seeking," he said, raising an eyebrow at her somewhat suggestively. "One would say I'm quite the hedonist." Uriah shrugged contently. In life, there really was nothing else he sought than the feeling of pleasure whether it be emotionally or physically. He was always looking to have an enjoyable time and he got the feeling that this Elaine knew how to give one.

Hedonist? Elaine was a pleasure seeker too, to an extent. Still, her pleasure came from more sinister things than what his raised eyebrow had implied. In fact, Elaine had always thought that stuff to be rather a big waste of her time and not really all that interesting. Not that she had really experimented with romance and all that nonsense enough to have a real educated opinion on it, but as far as she knew that was all a bunch of malarkey. The only way she wanted to connect with people was to take their wands and kill them. Well, not everyone, obviously.
She took another long sip before responding, "cute," she said, but her tone made it sound like she was mocking him rather than complimenting him. She lifted her hand to toss some hair over her shoulder and onto her back. "Does that line usually work too?" she was only joking this time.

Uriah couldn't help but let his mind wander to the things Elaine must have done, must have seen... she was wanted. That had to mean she had done some pretty despicable things to land her where she was right now. Uriah did think her any less attractive for those things, though. If anything, the fact that she had committed heinous murders was more appealing to him than anything. She was pretty easy on the eyes too. Who know Alastor would find a good looking, young witch to get the job done?
The bartender just smirked at Elaine as she openly seemed to be mocking him. It was odd... they seemed to be on the same sort of wavelength. She was pretty good at rebuffing him but he was just as good as working around her shell and finding the cracks. It had always been a strong suit of his, being able to crack the hard exterior of girls like Elaine. But he could see she was definitely different than the others... for more reasons than one. "You tell me, Mina," he said, his voice low so only she could hear as he leaned on his elbows over the counter to get another good look at her, face to face.
