Alice really just wanted to get away from everyone. Her brother has been distant lately, thankfully, however her sister is sending her owls left and right and Alice really can't be bothered to answer her. Don't get her wrong, she loved her brother and sister, as well as her parents, but lately a lot has been going on and she hasn't been in the mood to speak to anyone. It wasn't so much her school work, more so everything going on at the school that is causing her to stress and be slightly more scared than normal.
So, to get away, she went down to the pond. Even though it was still pretty cold she couldn't help but go there. It was so pretty and Alice loved the sound of the water. There were a few benches so she thankfully didn't have to sit on the snow. She was all bundled up with a big brown jacket with a fur hood and a pair of jeans and boots. Her hair was down which also kept her ears warm.
There was no one at the pond, and it made Alice smile slightly. Maybe she'd be able to have some time to herself. Alice sat down on the bench and crossed her legs; her hands were in her pockets and she took a deep breath and exhaled, watching her breath disappear over and over again.

In light of all that had happened recently, Alice was finally happy to get some alone time and relax out on the grounds. She really needed to clear her head. The end of the year was fast approaching and so much had gone on this year that had really just left her mind reeling constantly. She was feeling like a completely different person compared to how she had felt at the beginning of the year. So Alice was off to one of her favorite places on the grounds to do some serious mind-clearing.
The Hufflepuff walked down the path to the pond with her hand in her robe pockets and her eyes on the ground in front of her. The closer she got to the pond, she could already feel her mind starting to slow. Finally she arrived at the water's edge and she took in a deep breath and closed her eyes, letting the sound of the water calm her mind. She stood there for a moment and then opened her eyes slowly. That was when she noticed slight movement to her left and she jumped a little to her right as she turned to see the other Alice, a fellow seventh year who resided in Slytherin house. "Oh," Alice let out a breath. "I didn't see you there."

About ten minutes later, Alice heard footsteps behind her. She took a deep breath and held it, awaiting to see who was going to appear. Unfortunately, it was not someone she was nice to. It was the other Alice in the Seventh Year class; she was a Hufflepuff, and Alice rarely ever spoke to her. However, she clearly hadn't noticed her anyways, that was, until Alice Roux turned her head a bit more to face her.
The girl jumped, and Alice let out a small chuckle with a smirk. "Yes, it is just me. And it's just you, as well." Her eyebrow rose at the Hufflepuff, awaiting the rude comment she was assuming was about to be shot out at her.

Alice raised an eyebrow at the Slytherin. She had never really got on with the other Alice but she didn't dislike her either. It was a little awkward, really. The two never really spoke even though they actually shared a lot of the same qualities and they even had the same name. That was probably one of the reasons Alice chose to stay away from Slytherin Alice... she didn't want anyone to ever be confused about who they were addressing. Plus, referring to someone with the same name as you was just plain weird.
"Mhmm," Alice said, crossing her arms over her chest securely. She stood there in a moment of silence before glancing back at Alice Roux. "What are you doing out here? You need a break from all the studying too?" She asked, attempting to make conversation even if it was extremely awkward. Alice had really been making an effort to be a little kinder to people. And here Alice Roux was, never really having done anything personal to her, and she didn't deserve nastiness from Alice for no reason so... awkward niceness was the route she took.
