Graduation was hurtling towards them with the speed of a runaway Bludger, and the only thing Fred knew was that the newest generation of troublemakers at Hogwarts needed to go out with a bang more terrific than any other. That was difficult, considering that Fred’s father and uncle had exited the school by flying away on their brooms. The events that led up to that, of course, were a lot more serious (or Sirius, depending on whether or not you asked James) than the circumstances Fred and his friends had to deal with, but that was of no matter.
There were few places in the school that all five of them could happen to be at the same time. The Gryffindor common room seemed to be an anticlimactic setting for the planning of their last hurrah, and too many people could overhear them. That left only two places where they could “accidentally” stumble upon each other, and those were the most forbidden places on Hogwarts grounds. Fred didn’t feel like walking all the way out to the forest, so instead he crept into the entryway of the forbidden corridor. He still hadn’t ascertained why it was forbidden, exactly, because he still hadn’t been caught snooping. Maybe the three hundredth time would be the charm.

James S. Potter wasn't exactly feeling nostalgic about leaving Hogwarts but he also wasn't feeling too thrilled about it either. His N.E.W.T.s had become a huge source of stress as he struggled to discover what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. Being the son of The Boy Who Lived, he had many options open to him but James had never been the type to just take things because they were handed to him. He was prideful lion that had always done his best to earn what he had, regardless of his last name. So the fact that graduation was approaching and he had no idea what career he was going to choose was really getting to him.
Whenever James was feeling some source of stress, he would turn to cigarettes and/or his friends. For the time being, as he climbed the moving staircases he pulled out a cigarette. He ignored the gasps of shock and disapproval from some of the paintings on the wall but looked around for any teacher in the immediate vicinity. When he didn't see anyone, he used his wand to light the cigarette as he reached a landing and he stopped. He looked down the corridor it led to and immediately recognized it as the forbidden corridor; a corridor James and his friends were very familiar with. There was something about the five of them that just always happened to lead them to the exact spot they needed to be at the right time... and James was feeling that familiar pull as a little smirk appeared on his face and he made his way down the corridor.
As always, his gut had been correct for there down the corridor he spotted his cousin Fred. "Oi!" He called to him as he made his way down to him, hands loosely stuffed in his robe pockets and the cigarette hanging loosely out of his mouth. "Funny how we always seem to end up in the same place," he finally stopped in front of Fred and grinned at his cousin widely.

Being the only female in a group of crazy boys was never something that bothered Abby or affected her that much. In fact, she could probably take most of them down in a fight, especially if no magic was allowed. She had always held her ground with them even though they had never shown any doubt against her. She had pretty much forced her way into this group without much complaining from anyone. It was just meant to be that she was there with them. They were all meant to be together.
Just as they were meant to be together, they were also connected. They could easily find each other, especially when one of them was brewing mischief. She found herself perusing the Forbidden Corridor. Why it was still Forbidden she didn't know. Back in the day it was because of the well known Sorcerers Stone fiasco... but what was the point now? Either way, she didn't really pay attention to any sort of 'forbidden'ness outside or inside and this corridor was no exception. The school had always been her playground, and she would miss that.
The thought of growing up and going to actual Auror training freaked her out to no end, not that she would really admit to that. Sure, Finn knew she was worried about it but she wasn't going to go around acting panicked to everyone. She wasn't sure if she was ready for all this. For school to end. To take things seriously. Like Phoenix Rising...
Maybe she should have run away with Theo when she had the chance.
And on that happy though, Abby turned the corner and saw James and Fred up ahead. She smirked, approaching the boys. "Did somebody call for a party?"

It had been the longest yet shortest month of Finn's life. As soon as he sent off his Auror application, May came hurtling into the picture so fast that he barely felt he had the time to sit down. So much had happened to him and his core group of friends this year; from James finding the girl on the train, to N.E.W.T. classes, to career choices, and then Ethans' death. The year of ups and downs was certainly an understatement, yet now Finn began to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Things would begin to make sense again, but it meant that he was leaving Hogwarts behind him. It was the last few weeks he and the self-proclaimed 'Second Generation of Marauders' would galavant around the halls of Hogwarts, playing pranks, snogging girls (or guys), and just enjoying each others company. Sure, they would see each other this summer as was their usual ritual, but then he and Abby would be leaving for Auror training in August, and that would be it. At least he'd have Abby.
Finns' feet took him to in front of a locked door. With a grin, he realized it led to the Forbidden Corridor. He could understand why it had gained its' name; in 1991 the corridor had housed a gigantic three headed dog that Carson's father had dubbed Fluffy. Uttering the opening charm under his breath, he pushed the giant wooden door open and saw three of his friends already gathered. His grinned widened and he laughed. "Imagine this, we all decide today to break into the Forbidden Corridor," he said, though really he wasn't surprised. It sometimes felt like the two of them were linked telepathically, like they were of one mind instead of five.

@fred & @jams & @abigail & @finn how were they almost at the end of their seventh year. how? it seemed like only yesterday they were walking through the halls trying not to get lost and having trouble finding their classes. seven years of being friends, playing pranks and just having the best time they could have had flown by so quick that it was scary. if this is how quick school went, how would the rest of their lives be any different? they would fly by in the blink of an eye. he couldn't wait to start his training though. he'd known what he wanted to do with his life for years now. ever since he'd seen the mediwizards in action at a quidditch game once he'd decided he wanted to do that, help people in their moment of need. he ran his hand through his hair as he found himself walking towards the forbidden corridor they had used in previous years as a meeting place. he smiled a little as thoughts of plotting an planning rushed back into his head and he moevd through the door only to hear voices. they weren't supposed to be in here and it conflicted him a little on the inside, if he'd have come across any other students in here they'd have been called out on it and probably gotten in trouble. though now that the three headed dog was gone he didn't see why it was still forbidden. "you do know i can bust you all for being in here right?" he said as he approached them. he hadn't seen all of them in one place since he'd come back to hogwarts after the kidnapping and he had to admit it warmed him a little to be back here with them all. it was familiar, something he knew and something he had thought about. "you guys having a party without me?" he joked, coming to a stop and folding his arms lightly as he looked at them all.

Fred’s gut feeling had been right. The Marauders all materialized out of the shadows, and hung around like they had been there from the beginning. His cousin was the first to appear, like always. Fred and James were like two magnets, always drawn together. He wasn’t sure why, but it was nice. Blood made a strong bond, but friendship was even stronger. “Maybe if you stopped following me, then we’d end up in different places.” Fred said with a laugh. If he had more time he probably would have thought of another quip to throw at his cousin, but suddenly Abby was there and asking another question. He didn’t know what about five teenagers huddled in a forbidden corridor was party-like but – actually, he did understand how it was party-like. It was going to be amazing.
“It’s not breaking in if the door’s open, Finneus.” Fred announced. There was no need to talk about how this was morally ambiguous; they all knew that the hallway was not open to students. That was what made it so much fun. As for Casey, well, he was a twat for lording his Head Boy-ness over all of them. “Shut your mouth, Head Boy Finnigan.” Fred said, affecting an overly posh accent to poke at his friend’s obvious power. Clearing his throat, Fred began a speech in a slow, solemn voice. “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to lay to rest our oldest friend, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.” He realized how inappropriate that was with Ethan being recently dead, but the words were already out. “So, how we gonna leave this sucker behind?”

Fate never ceased to amaze James. As if on queue, it was only minutes until the rest of the Marauders had shown up in the corridor. It was as if they all had some sort of telepathic link that had been telling them to all come here... but that was how it had always been. They had been together from a young age. Mainly because of their parents. James and Fred were cousins, so that was a given. James's dad worked with Abigail's so it was no wonder they would often have play dates. His father had always been really good friends with Casey's dad. And then his uncle, Fred's father, and Finn's dad were best mates. It was as if the five of them were pretty much destined to be the best of friends.
As all of his friends congregated, James could not help but smile in spite of himself. While James had no idea what he was going to do with his future, he was glad that his friends had their careers pretty much figured out. Casey was going to make a great mediwizard, Finn and Abby were more than capable of being amazing aurors, and Fred was destined to take over his father's shop (discounts, anyone?) Being around them didn't make James sad for himself... if anything, it made him proud. Proud to call such a diverse and talented group of people his friends. "Now it's a party," he nodded, grinning widely.
As Fred spoke, an idea went off in James's head like a lightbulb and he suddenly became so aware of the box he held in his robe pocket. His wides widened excitedly as his cousin finished speaking. "Well, how 'bout we make this forbidden corridor actually forbidden again?" He said with a smirk as he pulled out the small box that said "stink pellets" across the front.

So they were all there which wasn't even the least bit surprising. Abby hung near James as the others arrived. Casey busted out the Head Boy card, of course, and Abby simply laughed loudly at his comment.
"Finn," she said, crossing toward him to throw an arm around his shoulders.
She took a step forward as Fred began his speech, dragging Finn with her. She bowed her head and nodded, giving the occasional 'mhmmm'. She looked up as he finished, placing a hand on Freds shoulder. "That was beautiful, Freddie. Beautiful," she said, faux sniffing and removing her hand from his shoulder to wipe her nose. Then she turned to James as he revealed what he had brought and she scoffed, "it's a good start, Jamsey, but we can do better than that... if the Head Boy is willing," she said, turning to Casey with a little raise of her eyebrow.

@fred & @jams & @abigail & @finn "i always knew you were wearing the wrong uniform freddy. i'm sure abby has a skirt you can borrow" he said as fred said a touching tribute to the school they had spent 7 years at. he had figured it wasn't meant to be serious, that it was meant to be taken as a joke. well he hoped it was. he rolled his eyes a little as they all talked about pranks. stink bombs? well that was a start but he looked at james and shook his head slightly. he glanced at abby and raised his eyebrows and mock gasperd. "you think i'd stop you? you just gotta tell masin if she asks i had nothing to do with it" he grinned a little. he was sure word of his and masin's reunion would have reached them by now. he rubbed his hands together and looked at them all. "right. here's what i was thinking. we turn the castle into a swamp. the quidditch pitch, the exits, the great hall. but we put a gemino curse on it. so if people touch anything in it, it grows?" he asked and he looked at the stink bombs in james' hand. they could come in handy. throw a few into the swamps if they made them and have them stink out the place.

Fred was so overwhelmed with all of the amazing ideas that he came near to cackling out loud. Oh, this would be rich. It certainly helped his cause that all of his friends were geniuses, united under the amazing leadership that Fred provided. Practical joke coordination must have been a genetic trait, because he was the absolute best at it. “Shut your f***ing mouth, Finnigan.” Fred said, throwing his arms open dramatically. “We’ll tell your badger girlfriend whatever it is she wants to hear if it means that you won’t expel us or whatever it is you like to do.” Honestly, why would they tell Masin anything differently? Maybe they didn’t all succeed in classes like Casey did, but they had at least the average amount of common sense to be expected of a seventeen year old. They were adults, after all.
“Swamps have been done.” Fred said, stroking an imaginary beard on his chin. His father and uncle had created a swamp just before they had left, and duplicating what they had done was no good. “Can we clog all of the toilets? Raw sewage is fun.” But no, that still wasn’t good enough. This needed to scream ‘the Marauders have left the building’. “Peruvian darkness powder bombs?” Submerging the school in impenetrable darkness was all well and good, but seemed more like something the kidnappers would do. “Or Whiz-bangs, perhaps?” Maybe if he just listed off the entire stock of the Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes he’d find an idea he liked.

Finn had kept quiet, which was quite unlike him. However, it was because he was thinking. His godfather and his twin had left a legacy people still talked about today, and there were only two of them – three if you counted his own father. There were five of them; they could do better. “We have to think bigger and more original. We can't copy Freddy's father over here too much. We're known as the second coming of the Marauders, so let's combine what the first generation and the Weasley twins did and create double the trouble,” he proclaimed.
With that, he pulled out a flash from his robes, grinning wickedly. They were all seventeen and eighteen, it was perfectly legal. “Let's take a toast my friends, to the best years of our lives both past and future,” he said, cheersing them before taking a swig. He let the burning hot firewhiskey drip down his throat before passing it to James. “Come on Jamesy, your turn,” he teased. Already he could feel the fire warming every fiber of his body, giving him more confidence and ideas for what was to come.

James let out an audible laugh when Casey mentioned the Head Girl, Masin DeLisle. She had always been so strict on them when Casey hadn't, and James found it funny that Casey wanted no part in their scheme if she found out about it. "We'll keep out mouth shut for you, Case," he said with a little mocking pout, but nudged Casey with his elbow and raised his eyebrows at him. James was certainly interested in hearing the details about his friend and his girl, but another time.
The eldest Potter could not help but shake his head, grinning at all of his friends' ideas. They were all brilliant and James was proud to call them all his best friends. His eyes widened in wonderment at the flask that Finn then pulled out. "Always prepared, I see?" He smirked at Finn before accepting the flask then took a swig of the firewhiskey himself before passing it to Abigail. The feeling of the whiskey down his throat gave him a visible chill and with it came an idea.
"Graduation," James practically blurted out. "Something at graduation. After Longbottom's speech!" The excitement in his voice was apparent on his face. "Something... fairly tame, I must say, but... memorable."

As Casey mentioned her lending Fred a skirt she scoffed, "hope you like the standard school grey cuz it's all I got."
She nodded as he said there was no mentioning of the plan to Masin then they'd be good. At Caseys ideas Abby chewed her lip, contemplating them one at a time... "oooh, the gemino curse could be good," she agreed.
Then Freddie threw in his own ideas and Abby shook her head at most of them. She liked the darkness powder, though. But after all the trauma of the year, darkness may not be the wisest way to go.
AT Finns toast Abby reached forward in an attempt to steal his clasp when he was done drinking it. "Hey, don't flaunt if you ain't gonna share," she said.
Then James suggested Graduation and Abby raised an eyebrow rather high, "hmm... that would be the best time to get the most people. It needs to be something that will shock them, at first, but then make people laugh. That's what we all need, right?"

@fred & @jams & @abigail & @finn “Swamps have been done.” he couldn't help but roll his eyes. a swamp had been done, not one that covered most of the school and the outer areas. he felt words on the tip of his tongue that were aimed at fred and he tried as hard as he could to stop them but they spilled out. "since when were you all for originality freddy? you spend your life trying to be like someone else so clearly if it's been done before you shouldn't have a problem" he said, not in a horrible way but in his usual manner. the three other people in the room were probably the only three people who knew how tense things could be between fred and casey, and casey was still at a loss to figure out why they didn't get on better. perhaps even seven years couldn't fix a glaring personality clash. “We have to think bigger and more original. We can't copy Freddy's father over here too much. We're known as the second coming of the Marauders, so let's combine what the first generation and the Weasley twins did and create double the trouble,” well now finn was getting in on that too. well it had sparked an idea in casey, hopefully one that they wouldn't say had been done before. "lets charm the stairs so they stop halfway between the landings? so they lead to nowhere." it would be hard but there had to be a way to change them. he almost cringed a little when they pulled out the firewhiskey. he wasn't a big drinker, to him the liquid tasted horrible so he was more than happy to let the others drink it down on his behalf. "what if we could foundd a way to move the whomping willow into the courtyard the night before graduation?" he suggested as well. it was a pretty big ask but there had to be some way to move it.

“Just because I have the same name as my dead uncle doesn’t mean I want to be like him, you twat.” Fred snapped at Casey. He knew it was bad to speak ill of the dead, but Fred really didn’t want to end up like his father’s brother. He wanted to live to be old and grey. He wasn’t quite sure about the oodles of grandchildren part – it had worked out that way for his grandparents, but times were different. After that, Fred resolutely ignored the Head Boy, focusing instead on what his cousin had to say. Graduation, yes. That would work. That would be a spectacle, and spectacles were what Fred was best at. “We could send off fireworks to spell out something?” He suggested, when Abby mentioned that it had to be shocking, but funny. “Some sort of ridiculous slogan?” Fred wasn’t sure if the fireworks would work in midday, but it was still worth mentioning.
And then Casey had to go and run his stupid mouth again. “Yes, Finnigan, let’s sacrifice life and limb to move an extremely dangerous, living being into the center of the courtyard. That’s a bloody fantastic idea, I can’t believe I didn’t think of that!” He said sarcastically. The Whomping Willow was even too dangerous for Fred – it was unpredictable, and huge as hell. Besides, it was a living thing, and it didn’t deserve to be uprooted as a part of a practical joke.
