Louis chuckled at Georgies' apprehensive comment. "Well Georgie, I live directly next to the sea; it'd probably be a good idea to have some basic strokes down," he said, not unkindly. Perhaps it was ignorant of him to assume everyone knew how to swim - plenty of people lived inland and may not know how to swim. "I can teach you though!" he exclaimed helpfully. Louis took to the water very early in life, which his mother always says attributes to his devil-may-care attitude; he had jumped into the ocean at the tender age of 2, scaring the living daylights out of his parents and causing his father to run in and drag him back out. "We can also do water sports like boogie boarding, or something less wet like sailing," he suggested to her.
In the distance, he saw Dom waving at him and realized how late it had actually gotten. "It's almost three-thirty, and it looks like Dom is ready to leave. I'll write to you on the exact dates my parents OK for you to stay with us," he promised. He gave his friend a brief hug, smiled awkwardly, and hopped off to meet his sister to go home.

Georgie couldn’t help but wince at the thought of swimming. She knew the theoretical motions, but still…well, they’d cross that bridge when they got there. Maybe letting Louis teach her wouldn’t be a bad idea – that way if she had a vision and freaked out she wouldn’t drown. Sailing sounded fun, though, and a lot less watery than swimming or boogie boarding. She could learn how to sail a ship and then she could said across the ocean and…and go back to a home with nobody in it. Georgie would rather stay in Britain, if that was the choice.
“Alright!” Georgie exclaimed, glad to hear that Louis was going to go through with asking his parents to let her stay with them. “I’ll see you soon, I hope.” She said, watching as Louis left the table to go be with Dom. She waited a few seconds to give them a head start before departing the ice cream shop as well, trying not to think of how disappointing her return to the orphanage would be after promises of bigger and better things.
