❊ something to think of ❊ Lucy loved being at the castle, and if she was true it was a bit difficult for her to leave her mother for such long time. But nothing, would make her leave Hogwarts, for that was a part of her which she truly loved. It was only a few days took the school reopens and she was excited for it. It was her OWL Year and she was going to do just great in them, like always. She was still half way through her packing and is her memory serves right, she will be the first to start. Her brother, Edmund will not have even started it and ends up starting it the the night before just like every time. It has been a while since she talked to any of her siblings and felt a twinge of guilt seep through her. She needed to feel better and the next thing she knew, she was on her way through the castle to find where Edmund was. She knew that Susan would be at the Leaky and Peter was at work too, so that left her with Ed who was going to be some where at the castle. After asking a few people, where he was she went towards the grounds. She should have expected to find him there, it was quite a pleasant place to be at. She simply walked towards him and spoke "Edmund, what are you doing?" Her initial thought was to pounce on him to make him notice her, but decided against it. As that sure would lead him to chase her round the grounds. WORDS: XXX TAGS: @edmund NOTES: Sibling love <3

Edmund was tired of his room. Tired of hiding from the world and pretending like he was angry. He wasn't. At least, not at the moment. The truth was, he missed Hogwarts. Missed his school, his friends, magic, flying. He enjoyed being around his mother most of the time, but the months had passed so slowly he felt as though he would never make it. His solace came from studying magic. Obviously, he couldn't perform it outside of school, but he could read about it. Still, he had to do so in a way where none of the servants would realize what he was studying. Thus his isolation in his room.
However, he'd come up with a solution. He took the cover off a book in the library and put it on the cover of Hogwarts, A History. He'd never been particularly interested in that before, but he needed something like it at the moment. With it's fake cover in place, Edmund finally emerged from his room and went outside to the gardens. It was so peaceful that he couldn't believe he hadn't thought of this sooner.
Then he heard someone approach him from behind. He took a deep breath to prepare himself. "Edmund, what are you doing?" He turned at the sound of his younger sister's voice. Whew! He hadn't expected it to be her.
He shrugged, "You know, just getting some fresh air and reading ..." he paused as he lifted the book to show the cover to Lucy. Would she believe he was reading this, whatever it was? He couldn't even remember what cover he'd taken. Oops. "What are you doing out here?"

❊ something to think of ❊ Lucy saw that Edmund was reading a book and upon closer inspection she saw that it was some random book. She did not let it bother her and listened as he spoke, she gave a nod and said "it is a nice day, after all. She looked at the cover of the book he was holding up for her to see and gave a chuckle and spoke "I never knew you read fairy tales, Edmund." as she pointed to the cover with her index finger. She knew that the book was just a cover for a magical book, as she too does that often. It is quite difficult to study and do your home work in the castle where people are non magical and know nothing of its existence. She had to close her doors and pretend that she was sleeping so that her work will be done. She looked at her brother as he asked about her and spoke "any ways I came to remind you to pack your trunk. It's only a few days to go and you and I both know that you are an expert at packing things"she added the last part to tease him. She settled down beside him and in a low voice she added "we have to do it ourselves, no one can help us." At Hogwarts they could use magic, but here it was not the same thing. They can't ask the servants to do it for them, as it will be difficult to explain the ink and quills and much more a problem if they see their text books.

Edmund turned slightly red, but laughed as he looked at the cover of the book. A compilation of fairy tales? That wasn't him at all. He winked at Lucy. He'd always gotten along with her better than Will and Susan. To his point of view, she'd always understood him just a little bit more. He shrugged, "Well, I thought I'd give them a go. They're actually quite interesting, you should give this one a go," he teased, scooting over so she could come and sit next to him. "Have a seat?" he asked lightly.
"Ahh," he moaned good naturedly, "I have plenty of time to pack. You know me, Luc, I can get that taken care of in a couple of hours when occasion calls for it. I'm good at procrastinating." He was in a good mood, and even being lectured about needing to pack himself wasn't enough to break his mood, though it probably would have been if Will had been the one to say it. Edmund was just ready to get back to Hogwarts already. "Have you already finished?" He asked with a smile.

❊ something to think of ❊ Lucy could see the dull blush creeping on Edmund's face and gave a chuckle. She watched him as he turned the book to look at the cover, she was right, he did not know about the book he used as a cover. She had doubled over laughing at his expression. She listened as he spoke covering up his slip up and spoke " and you expect me to believe that, you of all the people reading a fairy tale book." Suppressing her giggles which were threatening out, she continued, " next time Edmund, check the cover of the book you use" and ended up laughing at his face. She settled beside him and said "why thanks brother."It was always fun to have some laughter with Edmund, he was more easy going and enjoys his company. Whether it was over him, or her she liked it anyways and both never had any hard feelings later. Lucy gave an expectant look towards him, hoping that he would say he did it, but was rewarded with a negative. She sighed at him and said "I know you Ed. That's why I want you to get it done. But knowing you, you will not listen to me" and shook her head fondly at him. She gave a chuckle at the usage of words and thought, only Edmund. She shook her head at his question and said "I did half of mine, books and all are in. I still need to pack my clothes and all". She still had many things to do, but they can wait, as she talked to her brother.

Edmund shot a fake glare at Lucy when she started laughing at him, "Fine, you caught me," he finally admitted. "But one of these days I will read a fairy tale book just so I can tell you that I did." Not that it was much of a comeback, but still. He could read a fairy tale if he wanted to.
"You're welcome Sis," he said lightly as he closed the book and turned to look at Lucy. With her always siding with Will, he'd forgotten how well the two normally got along. He felt guilty for shutting himself away from her practically all summer. "Sorry I haven't seen you much this summer," he apologized. "Did you enjoy yourself?"
He shrugged, "Why worry about it now? I have plenty of time to get it done and not much else to do here besides. And what if I want to use something and I've already packed it? Then I would just get annoyed. It's just better for me to leave it for later."

❊ something to think of ❊ Lucy let out a burst of another burst of giggles as she saw her brother glaring at her but failing to be serious in it. She lifted her hands up and said "I did not catch you. You picked the wrong book". Usually Lucy was a calm collected, but with her family she forgets all her introvert behavior. It was as though she was a different person who lives while in between her family. The moment she enters the castle, she is back to her usual serene nature. It was quite good to laugh along with some one, but at school that was not the case. She once again felt her face light up with a wide grin and said "yeah, may be then you could tell them as bed time story." She nodded her head, as he returned her earlier comment. Lucy gave a nonchalant shrug and said 'it is okay, I know how you feel here without being yourself." She knew that Edmund loved flying and quidditch but couldn't even think of it here, without putting the stature of secrecy at risk. She gave a small smile and said, "mine was good. I had a lovely time shopping for new robes. And do you know why we need the new dress robes mentioned on the list? I ended up buying two of them, as I could not decide upon one." She was rambling, and she knew it, it would not stop her from talking when it came to fashion. She looked at Edmund and spoke, "enough about mine, what about you? how was your holiday?" As he gave out the reasons for not packing this early, she spoke 'don't ask me for help later" in a sing song voice. WORDS: 297 TAGS: @edmund NOTES:I'm sorry for the late reply.

Edmund shrugged sarcastically, "Oh you know me, always thinking of the future. Gotta learn those bedtime stories." He smiled a little. He'd forgotten how much he enjoyed seeing Lucy outside of school, when she just let herself go. She let herself loose around her family and he thought it was good for her. Granted, he did almost the exact opposite, closing around specific members of the family, but he'd always been able to confide- at least somewhat- in his younger sister. Just not about specific things, because he knew how close she was with Will.
He sighed. Of course she would know how uncomfortable he felt here. "Sorry Luc. It's not you or even Will. I just, I've never really felt like I belonged here and now that I've found magic I have a hard time even pretending anymore, you know?" He knew he was getting a little serious for the conversation, but he'd been feeling this way all summer and decided it was about time he let a little of it out. Before he exploded at someone, that was.
Then she started talking about shopping. No surprises there; Lucy loved shopping, something that Edmund simply could not understand, but he could talk about the dress robes. He'd gone out shopping with Susan just the other day and gotten his own. He gave her a smile, "Hey, I got two dress robes too. Susan insisted and I just wanted to get out of there, so I agreed. I wish I did know why we needed them. Susan thinks it might be some type of ball, but it better not be," he said, not really angry, but not happy at the idea either. He didn't like balls, something he knew Lucy was aware of. He shrugged again, "Oh you know, I spent most of my time in my room studying magic, adding in a few trips to see Susan and I saw Will a little." A very little. It was probably for the best.
His expression turned sly, "Oh don't worry. I've got packing down pat. I don't need help with it."
