❊ new year to look forward to ❊ Gabi was all excited to be back at Hogwarts. One would think that she was a bit of a crazy girl to miss the castle, but truth be told she loved the place more than anything and would love to be able to stay there even during vacation. In her eyes, the castle held a great mystery to itself which always made her the need to unwound it. She gave a farewell to her parents which had the usual set of instructions, stay calm and behave and enjoy. She always follows them except for may be the stay calm part. Honestly if she was to stay calm, then who would make the noise. She cannot be quiet and let the world go on with their work. She quickly boarded the train and settled her cat's cage, her broomstick and trunk onto one of the empty compartment. She still had some time for the prefects meeting and waited for any of her friends to come, she knew it was a bit early but she was most excited to see them all. As she sat in her compartment waiting, she heard the whistle blow indicating that the train started and she looked out of her window and waved to her parents once more who were standing a little away from the train and waving back at her. She saw as the last of the station disappear and the lush green meadows of London started. She took out her charms text book from her trunk and tucking her legs beneath herself, she settled down to read it just as the cabin door opened. She looked up from her book to be greeted with a friendly face, Edmund. She gave a smile and spoke "hello Edmund. Vot brings you here?"

Edmund was on the train. Finally. His heart was pounding and he really just couldn't wait to arrive back at the school. Still, he had a few hours left, so he decided to try and find some of his friends while he was waiting for the train to leave. This was always one of the most tense parts of coming to school for Ed. He had to be careful about where he sat because he did not want to end up with specific people. Looking in compartments as he walked down the aisle, Edmund finally stopped when he reached one that was mostly empty. Looking inside he saw Gabriella. He sighed, relieved that he'd found a spot with a friend. He opened the door and came on in, putting his trunk away quickly. "Hey Izzy. Just looking for a place to sit. Most of the compartments are already full," he told her with a shrug. "You ready to get back?"he asked, completely unable to just sit there. He was too excited about finally going back. isabel alejandra moreno-hughes

❊ new year to look forward to ❊ Gabi gave a bright smile and spoke " join me, it vos boring to be alone." She ushered him inside and helped him put away his trunk. She gave a small nod and said "it is quite full this time, I guess we have many first years to be sorted." She placed her book aside, making sure t mark the page by a bookmark, an orange color feather. She looked at him and asked "where is your broom? Do not say you are not playing this time? and please don't say you forgot it" Sometimes she found that some students quite playing due to their studies, and some say that they couldn't handle the stress. In her opinion, quidditch was the best way to loosen up the stress piled up in the head. She gave an excited grin and spoke "yes, I am very much excited to go. What about you?"She was not the person who would stay calm unless it was only herself for company, and here she had her friend, Edmund and never in a million years would she stay calm. She was about to ask him some thing when her little cat, wiggled inside the cage making loud noises, as it was locked in. She shook her head at it's antics and opened up the latch, and watched as her cat strutted out of the cage her tail high in air. She gave a giggle and spoke "one vould think that she is the queen of the cats, with the way she behaves." She scooped up Vasilis into her lap and stroked its fur as she looked at Edmund and spoke "how has your holiday been?" She looked thoughtful for a moment and suddenly spoke "and where are your sisters? Susan and Lucy it's been a long time since I met them" and trailed off. Edmund nodded at her invitation. "Thanks Gabi. I think I will." He appreciated her help with his trunk, but felt like that was obvious so he didn't say it out loud. "I guess so. I wasn't really expecting it to be so busy though. Oh well. And I left my broom at school during the break. My Mum doesn't really like the idea of flying on a broom so I try to help her stay calm a bit. If I need to practice, I try and find a friend whose parents don't mind a visit," he explained, trying to act like that was normal even though he knew it wasn't. "Don't worry, I'd never forget it."
He gave a small smile, "I'm glad vacation is over. I love Hogwarts. Even though this year is going to be a really tough one, I'm excited," he told her. He'd finished his OWLs last year and done quite well on them. Now it was time to do his NEWTs and he was nervous and excited for the challenge that would present. He looked around when he heard a noise. He looked around to see what it was but he didn't have to wait long. Gabi pulled out a little cat and started stroking it. Without asking, Ed reached over and petted it casually. He liked animals. "It was long and pretty boring, actually," he told her, unwilling to get into his family arguments. Apart from those, nothing interesting had happened. "They went into other compartments with their friends. If you want, I can help you find them so you can talk to them," he offered. isabel alejandra moreno-hughes

❊ new year to look forward to ❊ Gabi gave smile as he accepted her invitation to join her. She nodded her head as he spoke. At his answer, she could feel the deep sadness ringing in his voice as he spoke. She knew that having non magical parents who would not understand what was happening is quite difficult. They can never embrace it, she thought. And she now understood what Edmund meant by it. She could not help but offer him, "you know, you could alvays come to my home for some practice. We have a whole team in our family after all."[//b] She did not want to sound as though she was pitying him, but in this way she offered a chance to play with a whole team. She gave a nod and asid "of course, I vos merely surprised." She knew one thing, for some one who likes quidditch they cannot leave their broom alone at all and could feel how Edmund must feel about it.
Gabi gave an excited nod and said "I know right, I miss the castle too. It is going to be tough, but a bit better than having to study for OWLS." She shivered a little at the thought of having to study all those subjects for NEWTS.She added, "vot subjects are you dropping this year?" As she was petting Vasilis, Edmund too reached out and petted it and she smiled. Her Persian blue eyed, usually does not allow any one to touch it, except for a fair few people like Addi and Edmund apart from her family members. The rest of them end up with scratches if they even think of touching her. She gave a small chuckle as he explained about his holidays, she said "you vould always say that. But then again, you have a whole different world in the muggle side." She nodded as he spoke about his sister's and said "it is okay. I vould talk to them later."

Edmund smiled a little at her offer. "Thanks Gabbi. I'll probably take you up on that next vacation." Probably? Definitely would be more accurate. Just the idea of being able to play even just a little Quidditch made the idea of summer vacation about a million times better. Edmund missed being in the air and honestly couldn't wait to get back on his broom. He nodded, "It's all good, I think that's definitely a natural question.""I hope it's better than OWLs. Those were stressful. And at least now we get to choose our classes. Umm, I'm dropping out of Astronomy and History of Magic, what about you?" He asked with a smile. It was almost a sure thing that he would have at least a few classes with her and he was glad. He shrugged, "Yeah, things are definitely different on the muggle side of things. I prefer the magical side, to be honest." Not that that would come as a surprise to her. isabel alejandra moreno-hughes
