Cecelia smiled nervously at Ramsey, the corners of her lips just barely turned up. Ramsey was being so much nicer than Cecelia probably deserved, all things considered, but it felt good to be treated like a human being instead of just Desirae’s shadow or the girl who had outlived Braelynn. Cecelia came uncomfortably close to thinking the word sell-out, but she managed to avoid it at the last moment; for all the horrible things she was – all the horrible things she did – Cecelia was not a sell-out, or at least she didn’t think she was one.
“Yeah, it really is.” Cecelia agreed. There were going to be some broken hearts at the end of this, and Cecelia wasn’t looking forward to seeing all of that breaking. The Gryffindor tried to force a smile when Ramsey said that some people must not get out a lot, but she fell short of one. “It can be hard.” She said, trying to inflect as much empathy as possible. “So many of these students are children of war heroes, you know. It can be hard, to live in a shadow.” Cecelia would know.
The smile that had faded re-appeared when Ramsey suggested that the two of them meet up sometimes. “Yeah, of course!” She agreed. “I’m a prefect at Hogwarts, so I patrol a lot, but maybe we can get lunch or something?” Merlin, she sounded like such a ditz.

Ramsey's eyebrows raised slightly. She hadn't even considered whose kids some of these people were. "I forgot about that," she admitted. "That there was a war here..." She paused, wondering if it was appropriate to say what had happened last year was a "war" but she opted out. "Going to a new place can be quite the culture shock." She tried to add lightheartedly with a smile.
The way Ramsey's eyebrows rose this time was one of surprise. "Oh, very nice!" She exclaimed, referring to Cecelia's Prefect status. "Maybe I can get away with some sneaking around..." She said, flirtaciously. "Only kidding. But I'd love to maybe get lunch with you. You're a... Griff-een-door?" She asked, raising one eyebrow now in question. She wasn't entirely sure, but the robes kind of gave her a clue.

Cecelia nodded when Ramsey said that she had forgotten the war. It was hard for Cecelia to forget when half of her house was Weasley, but she could understand that, and the culture shock, as well. Cecelia flushed when Ramsey said that she could get away with sneaking around. The prefects were already more lenient on the foreign students, because they could claim not to have understood the curfew rules, but Cecelia would be even more lenient with Ramsey, if it meant getting to see the other girl again. Before she could interject a comment on that, Ramsey said that she was only kidding, and Cecelia’s face fell. She covered it with a smile when Ramsey butchered the pronunciation of her house’s name. “Gryffindor, yes.” Cecelia said with a smile. “I’m sorry, but I really have to go…” If only she could stay longer. “I’ll…owl you or something.” Cece said after a thoughtful pause. “Bye, Ramsey.” Cecelia rushed off as soon as the words were out of her mouth, hoping she didn’t make a fool of herself in front of the other girl.
