Apparently these children were going to insist upon being difficult with her, Zytka thought with a sigh. Turning first to the girl, Zytka raised her eyebrows. "Yes, you can walk perfectly fine, and that's why this young man was supporting you." She said smoothly. "I hate to tell you this, my dear, but Nurse Blacksmith and I are on friendly terms, and I know for a fact that she would have my head if I did not insist upon moving you in the manner that would least aggravate your injury." After waiting so long for an opportunity to visit the hospital wing, Zytka was not going to enter with a student who had limped from the Quidditch field all the way to the hospital wing with minimal assurance, especially since it was well within Zytka's capabilities to move her quickly and painlessly. At least the girl had tried to be respectful about things - the boy had no such tact. Zytka did not take well to back talk, especially not from a student who seemed concerned little about the fact that she was a professor and not just one of his friends.
"Ten points from Slytherin for back-talking a professor." Zytka said curtly. "When I ask you to do something, I expect it to be done. I may not be your professor, but I still hold authority over you, and I am more experienced than you in practically every way. If I wanted an opinion, I would have asked for it." She said with a glare. "I appreciate your concern for your friend, but I am much better able to help her without an unnecessary escort." Especially an unnecessary escort who was rude to a professor with little reason. "The next time you speak back to me, you will be receiving an additional twenty point deduction and a detention, so choose your next words wisely." Zytka didn't particularly enjoy disciplining students - it wasn't why she had taken her job, after all - but disrespect was the one thing she absolutely could not tolerate, and anyone who thought otherwise was going to have something else coming to them.

Lena opened her mouth to object, but shut it just as quickly. The last thing she needed was to argue with a professor, particularly one as intimidating as Professor Kamuntu. Sure, she could have walked, er, hobbled to the hospital wing - it was only on the first floor. But the walk would be excruciating, and Lena was likely to do more damage to her knee. And, as someone who planned on going into the medical industry, she knew that knee injuries could have lasting damage, even with magical healing. So she stayed silent.
She wished Ian had the same sense.
She was surprised and flattered by the boy coming to her defense, but sassing a professor just wasn't a smart idea, even if the intentions were good. Lena's hand flew to her mouth to bite back words of shock and frustration when the professor deducted points from Slytherin and threatened further deduction and detention. It seemed a little harsh for someone who was only trying to help, but Lena certainly didn't want the same punishment. She dropped her gaze and tried to smile at Ian but only managed a pitying grimace. "I'll be okay, Ian, really. Maybe I'll see you around once my knee heals up." She hoped he would take the hint and leave. The last thing she wanted was more trouble.

@helena, @zytka <3 Ian hated when professors thought they were better than everyone just because they were simply a professor. He didn't take well to being disrespected, but according to this woman she could do as she pleased. He was smart, he didn't say anything more to her. It was a waste of his time. However, he also didn't like that she thought she could do whatever she wanted without asking Helena first. Granted, floating her was probably the better idea, but just simply asking Lena out of respect would've been a great idea.
Ian turned to look at Lena. He gave her a gentle smile back. "Make sure it heals, yeah? I'll send you an owl, or I'll come visit in the hospital wing. Enjoy your flight." With one last look at the professor, he turned to walk back out of the Quidditch Pitch, waiting until he was out of sight before he pulled out another cigarette.

Zytka felt like the hand gripping her heart had released somewhat when the boy finally decided to leave. Maybe he thought she was being too hard on him, but Zytka didn’t care. It was her responsibility as a teacher to do what she thought was best for her students – for all of the students at Hogwarts. There were always going to be people who didn’t appreciate her specific brand of tough love, but she couldn’t let that stop her from properly disciplining students. She was certain that luck would cause their paths to cross again, and when that happened, she would show the boy that there was more to Professor Kamuntu than just a vindictive teacher who disrespected people’s wishes. Just like every other person, Zytka had her own story, and if the boy didn’t care to see that, that was his problem, not hers.
“To the hospital wing, then?” Zytka asked, though there was no question about it. She gestured with her hand, and when Zytka walked, the floating student followed her. She was going to deliver someone to Caroline, and she would be the hero, and then an angry student or two would be worth it.
