One of the biggest reasons Mathieu was excited to be back at school again (besides seeing Sophia, of course,) was Quidditch. It was a sport his parents had never really approved of but didn't disapprove of either. So it was just an easy, fun way for Matty to let off steam during the school year without drawing attention to his activities. His parents never questioned his interest in Quidditch (except maybe once or twice when he was starting out,) so it was the one thing in his life that he could do without their involvement. Being back at the pitch was exhilarating. Even just standing there in the middle of the empty field, breathing in the smell of the fresh cut grass, was a feeling he never wanted to forget. He was excited for the year ahead. Slytherin had beat Gryffindor last year (and what an exciting win that was!) and he couldn't wait to do it again. He hoped and prayed that the Tournament wouldn't take over the attention of Quidditch, though. He didn't really have an interest in entering the tournament but his parents had already owled him and told him he should enter... before long, he could probably expect another telling him that he had to enter. But until then, Matty wanted to forget all of his troubles on the pitch.

@mathieu <3 School had just started about a month ago, and Addilyn Slater was already in for one hell of a ride. Her best friend became the person she is now dating, the boy she liked hated Slytherins, her brother had finally become closer to her but was now avoiding her again, her sister was all kinds of messed up, and she was being bullied by some other Slytherin girl. She needed a break, and Addilyn wasn't sure how to get it.
Quidditch usually helped. That was her plan last week after Theodosia had attacked her in the girl's bathroom. She had begun flying, but some boy from Beauxbatons had interrupted her to talk. This time, she didn't know if she was going to fly, or just go there to take a breather. However, when she got there, a familiar face stood in the center of the open field. Addilyn grinned brightly. Mathieu Helvitius was one of her best friends. He had pretty much helped her out when she first got here, as she didn't have any siblings in Slytherin house. He was a year older than she, so he showed her the ropes and where everything was. They had become quite close since then, and they were both beaters on the Quidditch team.
Slowly walking up behind him, Addi grinned. She reached her hands out and poked his sides. "Boo!" After giggling for a moment, she tilted her head. "Hi Mathieu! You alright?"

Mathieu held his broom in his right hand and was just about to move to mount it when he felt a poke at his sides and he jumped swiftly a step ahead of where he had been standing, letting out a little shout. His eyes were wide in surprise when he turned around but a smile quickly spread across his face when he was greeted with the face of Addilyn Slater. "Addi, hey," he grinned widely at the blonde.
Though Addilyn was a year below Matty, he had found a friend in the girl. She was care free and a joy to be around, unlike a lot of the other Slytherins in their house. Matty didn't have any siblings at Hogwarts at all, so he could empathize with Addilyn's loneliness of being the only Slater in Slytherin. Matty shrugged somewhat nonchalantly at Addi's question. "I'm alright, I guess," he replied, kicking the grass at his feet. "Just, parent stress, ya know?" He asked, shrugging once again.
