Vi had never done the girlfriend thing before, so it was going to take some getting used to. Though she figured, for this Quidditch player, there wasn't anything he couldn't somehow manage to talk her into. It was surprising how quickly the two of them had clicked and gotten along so well. Vi pretended to wince at all the words he wanted in writing. She smirked in the end. "Yeah... Whatever you said," she agreed. "I'll have to get back to you with the whole 'written in ink' thing, though," she managed to joke.
Vi folded her arms once again and looked at Dustin. "Please, oh magnificent one," she began. "How does one have two and a half children?" Though the very thought of having children was way out of the way and even a little horrid to Viovinnia, she thought that one day... Maybe she would one day like to have kids, and that maybe Dustin would be nice to have kids with... But they were far, far too young for that as of yet.

Dustin raised an eyebrow when Vi mentioned the written in ink comment. “Do you really intend to write that in blood? Because that would be quite a bit of blood, Vinnie. I wouldn’t want you to get lightheaded or anything.” He chuckled. “But, I have to know for certain, are you agreeing? Because I want to get a girlfriend before any of my sisters do, if it’s all the same to you.” His sisters were all of dating age, and Dustin wouldn’t put it past any of them to get a girlfriend before he actually managed to get Viovinnia to agree to be his.
“Easy.” Dustin shrugged when the Slytherin asked how one could have two and a half children. “Have two kids like you, one hundred percent human, and then have one kid like me.” The corner of his mouth kicked up into a cocky half smile. “Half human, half bird.” If he hadn’t been so comfortable on the floor, Dustin would have switched into his bird form to prove his point, but as things were, he was extremely comfortable, and Viovinnia had already seen him as a bird, so she’d know that it wasn’t just a reference to his ability to fly for Quidditch.

Yet another wicked, signature Nott smirk spread across Viovinnia's face and she moved to sit down on the floor, cross-legged, right in front of Dustin. Her knees her just centimeters from touching him. "Does it have to be my blood?" She raised a challenging eyebrow as she leaned in toward him, grinning in spite of herself. Vi leaned back away from him again, sitting up straight. She shrugged. "I guess I agree. Like I said, we wouldn't want your reputation ruined. You don't strike me as the lying type." Though the idea of stringing Dustin along just to see his sisters get significant others before him sounded fun... She wanted to see more of him. And what better excuse to have to do that than being his girlfriend?
Vi gave Dustin an amused look. "Oh really?" She said through a small chuckle. "Well then, two and a half sound fine." Playing pretend with Dustin was fun. Thinking up all the possibilities... even though they had technically only met weeks ago, it made her somewhat excited to see where the two of them would go together. The possibilities were endless. And that was something Vi loved.

Viovinnia leaned close to him, and Dustin suddenly wished that he had been chewing cinnamon gum like he had been at their last meeting. That certainly would have caught Viovinnia's interest, and possibly also earned him a kiss, if she was feeling particularly bold that day. As it was, Dustin was having a hard time focusing on Viovinnia's question with her so close to him. Luckily, when she leaned back again, he managed to think up a snappy response. "Well, your blood's the only thing that would make the contract bound to you, so if you used someone else's blood, it would be bound to them. If you want someone else to be my girlfriend..." He trailed off, allowing Vinnie to fill in the blanks. She'd use her blood (or ink) unless she wanted someone else to be bound to him. "Thanks for thinking of my reputation, Vinnie." Dustin said with a laugh. "Though if that's the only reason, maybe our relationship is getting off on the wrong foot." That wasn't the only reason, of course, but it was fun to tease.
"I mean, the number doesn't really matter to me. I've got six sisters, and my parents did pretty well raising all of us." Having a lot of siblings meant that they would never be alone, for better or for worse. "We could have one for every house, maybe. Mix and match." He was certain Viovinnia wouldn't be pleased if at least one of their hypothetical children wasn't in Slytherin.

Vi's eyes narrowed into a glare at Dustin. She had been trying real hard not to let him find out what got under her skin, but even that one surprised her. It was clear that she had more feelings for Dustin than she originally thought and while that was exhilarating, it also scared her a little. "Oh, well, I don't know how this will work out then," she responded to his own teasing with some of her own.
Viovinnia let her eyebrows raise in shock. "Six?" She repeated. How had she never heard the last name Bainbridge before she met Dustin if there were six others of them running around? Six was far too much for her. Hell, maybe even three was too much for her. Why was she thinking about kids? Oh, it was because she was irrevocably falling head over heels for Dustin Ariel Bainbridge.
And Viovinnia Rowle Nott was falling pretty hard.

“Shortest relationship in history, right?” Dustin asked with a smile. “If you’re going to break my heart by breaking up with me, let me down gently. I’m a sensitive soul.” It was true that Dustin wouldn’t be pleased if Viovinnia broke up with him, but it definitely had nothing to do with his soul – he just wanted to have a chance to prove himself to the Slytherin before she wrote him off. He couldn’t do that if they preemptively decided their relationship wouldn’t work, even if it had been only a joke.
Vinnie seemed to be surprised by the amount of sisters he had, and Dustin wondered if that fact had slipped his mind. Oops. “Yeah, six.” He said, running his hand through his hair. “I’m the oldest, but then there’s Cara and Mia, they’re seventh years, then Eglantine, who’s a fifth year, and then Peyton, Persephone, and Penelope, who are fourth years.” Multiples didn’t run in his family, but Dustin had gotten lucky with having both twin sisters and triplet sisters. “What about you? Got any siblings?” Dustin was fairly certain she had a brother, but maybe he had just made that up.

Viovinnia let her head tilt to the side and her lips formed a small half smile. "A sensitive soul?" She raised her eyebrows at him. "So, then, does that mean you're like all those other sensitive guy types? Long walks on the beach at sunset, you cry at movies geared toward females, you have a better grasp of the female mind?" She liked teasing Dustin. He took it so well, and that was good for Vi. She tended to tease those she got along well with and well, since she liked Dustin a little bit more than other people, he was probably going to get a bit more teasing than others would.
The Slytherin's eyes remained wide as Dustin named off his sisters. Viovinnia could never imagine having that many siblings. Having more than her brother was even odd to her. What a loud house Dustin must have grown up in. "That's a lot of girls. So you must understand the female mind better than most males, then," she smirked. When Dustin had in turn asked Vi how many siblings she had, she shrugged once nonchalantly. "Just one. Theodorus. He was in your year, Beater for Slytherin." The way Vi talked about her brother was like the way one would talk about perhaps an uncle or an aunt they weren't close with. Sure, Vi loved her brother as much as she could, but the two weren't "close." They weren't raised in a close household. In fact, Vi was certain she spent more time with her trainer as a child than she had any other member of her family. But she still had an utmost respect for her brother, even if she hadn't seen or spoken to him since the Hogwarts kidnapping.

Dustin nodded slowly when Viovinnia repeated his comment about being a sensitive soul. He continued to nod, faster and faster, as she rattled off a list of what being a sensitive soul entailed for most guys, until his head was just bobbling up and down nonstop. He stopped nodding when she stopped talking, cracking a smile. “I actually prefer long walks on the beach by moonlight, but sunset is also sufficiently romantic. Sunrise, too, if we spent the entire night together.” He said with a wink. As for his insight into the female mind…Well, Vinnie hit the nail on the head with her next comment. It was impossible to have as many sisters as he did and not become a little more attuned to the way girls worked. It was a necessity for survival, especially since he and his father were so vastly outnumbered. (Seven to two! How was that fair!?)
The Gryffindor boy scoffed when the Slytherin girl said that her brother had been in his year, and a Quidditch player for Slytherin. “He must not have been that good, if I don’t remember him.” Dustin commented snidely. He hadn’t paid as much attention to the school’s Quidditch during his last year of Hogwarts, since he was so busy playing professional Quidditch, but he remembered the more notable players – which were, in his mind, the players that were any good. “What’s he doing now?” Dustin asked, curious. Many of the kids in his year, a huge amount even, had gone off to training for the Auror program, and a few had found jobs in the Ministry. He was certain Theodorus hadn’t joined up with a Quidditch team, because Dustin had followed the Quidditch draft picks of graduating seventh years with an eagle’s eye (or a kite’s, as it were). He wondered what sort of thing the brother of someone as brilliant as Viovinnia would be getting up to.

Vi tilted her head to the side, narrowing her eyes slightly at the Quidditch player. He was so cheeky. While this was a trait Viovinnia usually found exceedingly unattractive, Dustin made it look so good. "Oh? Sensitive and a romantic! How did I get so lucky?" She exclaimed with only a slight bit of sarcasm. Truthfully, her mind began to wander to the idea of walking at a beach under the light of the moon with Dustin. It was so odd to have such feelings about someone... but Vi felt oddly warm inside when she felt them.
The Slytherin couldn't help but smirk at Dustin's scoff when she mentioned her brother. It was fun to hear people talk of her brother, even if they didn't know him. She and her brother weren't entirely different from one another as far as how they were raised and their fighting skills, though they differed in Theodorus's liking for being challenged more than Viovinnia. Vi liked winning, and hardly ever liked a challenge. Sure, she wanted to be the best, but she usually went in thinking she was the best already. (Though, she could see herself being challenged by Dustin already and she hadn't fought it.) Viovinnia shrugged at Dustin's question. "I don't know. He was kidnapped on April Fool's Day. I haven't seen nor spoken to him since." There was a rather lack of concern in Viovinnia's voice, but it was only because she knew that Theodorus was fine wherever he was. She didn't know where that was, but she had heard he was fine. Other than that, Vi knew perfectly well that her brother could handle his own better than anyone.

Dustin smiled broadly at Viovinnia, twisting his tongue between his teeth as he laughed at her. “That’s me.” He said when Vi said that he was both sensitive and romantic. He was thrown off for a beat by her question about how she got so lucky. There was no good answer to the question, but since he already sounded kind of like a pompous ass, maybe it would be better to keep up that persona? No, no, there was something even better to say. “The real question on the table is,” he took a breath, pausing dramatically, “how did I get so lucky? Not everyone gets a girl as amazing as you.” Dustin needed to prove his chops as a romantic, instead of just joking about it.
The Gryffindor couldn’t help but gape when his Slytherin counterpart said that she hadn’t spoken with her brother since April Fool’s Day. That had been over five months! Dustin couldn’t imagine not speaking to his sisters for five days, let alone five months. “You two aren’t close, then.” He deduced. No siblings could call themselves close if they didn’t speak for that long. “That kind of sucks.” Maybe Dustin’s relationships with his sisters could be crazy, and sometimes strained, but he wouldn’t trade them in for the world. It was actually kind of sad that Vinnie was missing out on that experience. If they were going to be together for any appreciable amount of time, hopefully she would get more comfortable with the whole family experience, for when they had a family of their own. If they had a family of their own. Dustin kept having to remind himself that the future he imagined wasn’t real, and this was just their first real date.

Vi half smiled at Dustin's admittance to his sensitive and romantic nature. It was odd, but Vi found herself wanting to see more of that side of him. So far, she had just seen his confidence and cockiness (which, admittedly, wasn't bad in Vi's book at all,) but she found herself growing curious now. And maybe even a little lustful for that side of him. It seemed as though she got her wish, then, for Dustin turned around and asked how he got so lucky, having a girl like her. Vi's eyebrows rose a little and she blinked at him before speaking. "You're practically a professional in the area of wooing women," she said, trying to sound sarcastic. Though, truthfully, she was being pretty "wooed" herself.
The Slytherin simply shrugged her shoulders as Dustin seemed to figure out that Vi wasn't extremely close with her brother. It was something she knew, but not something she minded. "As close as two people who were raised like us could be," she replied. Being raised to detach yourself from others left Vi and her brother with a less than close sibling relationship, but Vi honestly couldn't see it any other way. She didn't know what it was like to be close with your siblings and she hadn't really ever cared before. Weren't you supposed to go your own ways at some point anyway? Vi and Theo just did that at a younger age.

Dustin huffed out a short breath of laughter when Vinnie said that he was a professional in wooing women. He wasn’t going to deny that he had been around the block before a time or two, but there had been minimal wooing in those situations. It was pretty easy for someone as talented as he was to get a few groupies; as soon as it became evident that Dustin was going on to be more than just a school Quidditch player, girls had flocked to him – pun intended. There had only been a time or two beside this one that Dustin had actually pursued a girl. “Only those who are worth wooing.” He said with a shrug, not wanting to give away all of his past romantic history, especially since he and Viovinnia had reached a mutual agreement that they were dating each other exclusively.
“Raised like you?” Dustin repeated, a little confused. He knew plenty of pureblood siblings who were as close as could be, so he didn’t think that was what Vinnie was referring to. She had transferred to Hogwarts, he was pretty sure, consider he had never seen her before last year, but homeschooling also didn’t sound like a good enough reason for siblings hardly knowing each other. Abruptly, Dustin let out a high-pitched scream, not unlike the scream of a bird of prey. He winked at Vinnie. “If you’re going to leave alone, people need to know there was some kind of struggle. That pesky reputation and all.” Dustin smiled.

As always, the Nott smirked at Dustin's words. "I don't know whether to be flattered or offended," she blinked, sarcastically. She didn't find herself wondering what other girls he had wooed before, oddly enough. Vi knew that she wouldn't want to go spewing out information about River or any boys she had snogged in the past. At least not yet. Telling someone you were engaged to be married against your own wishes wasn't exactly a topic you led into a conversation with.
Viovinnia shook her head and waved a dismissive hand with Dustin repeated her words back to her in a question. "It's a long story," she shrugged. Hopefully she could evade that conversation as well, for now, and save it for another day. When Dustin then let out a high-pitched sound, Vi jumped in shock. She had almost forgotten about his ability. Slowly, another smirk spread across her face. "Yes. I do have quite the reputation to uphold. Maneater and all that hullabaloo," she played along. She could feel a fluttering in her stomach when she looked at his smile.

“Are the two mutually exclusive?” Dustin challenged when Vinnie said that she couldn’t choose between succumbing to his flattery or being offended by it. Well, that wasn’t exactly what she had said, but that was what he had gotten out of it. “You can be both.” He advised her with a grin. “Example: I’m flattered that you’ve spent all this time with me, but offended that you haven’t asked me out on our next date yet. I can’t be doing all the work here, you know.” Truth be told, Dustin already had a plan for the next month, but he didn’t dare tell Vinnie that. She would probably just roll her eyes at it, because it was outrageously sappy, and she didn’t seem like a sap of any kind.
Dustin tilted his head when Viovinnia said that her upbringing was a long story. “Good thing you have the rest of your life to tell it to me, then.” He replied after a beat of silence. It was a good response, he thought, not pressuring her to share anything but simultaneously expressing his interest in hearing that story, one day. “Do you want me to scream again? I can be louder, but you’d need to cover your ears.” He said with a wink.

Vi narrowed her eyes into a sarcastic glare at the Quidditch player. "Well, how about this. I promise I'll be the one to ask you out next," she reasoned with him. Though, since Dustin had a job out in the real world - Vi didn't know when that would be. So a promise was just as good as the real thing right there, right? Though her eyes were still in that sarcastic glare, her mouth slowly stretched into a smile. "Well, that sounds like just the right amount of time to tell it all to you, then," she replied. Vi stood up then. "Alright, you scream one more time and I'll walk out. Then you can follow me... in your animagus form." She challenged him with a smirk.
