Liam was excited. He always loved the first class of the school year, where he could gauge the excitement of the students, as well as their work ethic. Experience in potions meant very little if the students were willing to try. His fourth year class was smaller than he would have liked, but it would allow him to work one-on-one with the students, something he very much enjoyed, especially when he finally found that one student who had a natural talent for brewing. The dark-haired professor scribbled the instructions on the board, his handwriting surprisingly neat for a man. Everything about his was insanely neat, down to the mass of ingredients he had stacked in piles on his desk. Each stack contained the exact amount of ingredients each student would need for his or her projects. Later, he would ask them to measure their ingredients themselves, but he would give them a free shot for their first class. He turned around and sat down at his desk, making meticulous notes about what he expected from the class. His eyes were a pale shade of lavender today, which would, hopefully, make the students fill more welcome in his clammy dungeon classroom. [[OOC: Each student will get four posts: one entering; two practicing the potion, one for each part; and one leaving. Liam will interject after each round of posting to assist and chat. Please mess up at least one time in your post because no one is perfect. Whether your potion is successful in the end is up to you (we'll say the end result should be bright green and smell of cherries). I found a nifty link to the potion here, so you know what each part consists of. Do not use the Half-Blood Prince notes. Students have five days to post. Please post in tagged order. Thanks~]] @axel penelope raisa bainbridge @seph

Axel hurried down to potions. He loved this class! It was his favorite, and as such, he felt almost required to come early. He walked into the room with a spring in his step. He grinned as he entered. "Hey, what are we doing today?" He asked, more serious than he normally was. When it came to potions, he was all business. In all his other classes, Axel was known for messing around but still doing well. Not in potions. He loved this class. He chose a seat and moved to sit down, waiting for everyone else to arrive. Hopefully they wouldn't take too long. (suzie: penelope raisa bainbridge skipped, @seph due the 10th!)

Potions class was awesome. Heck, Seph loved almost all her classes! She skipped in and took a seat next to her sister, Penelope, who was being eerily quiet. She turned to Axel, who was on the other side of her. "Hey Axel," the kid was great at potions, and always so serious when they were in here! She liked to poke fun at that just a little bit, since he was so dang intense! Still, she was really competitive so she leaned forward in hopes of hearing what the plan was with just as much anticipation as he had, ready to take it on.
She worried about what was stirring in Pens brain though... eep!
(@liam , and Sora kinda told me what Pen is thinking in this thread so I'm just reacting to her NPC for now

Liam smiled as his students filed into the class. They were young and seemed eager to learn. Liam loved that in a student. It gave him an even greater passion for his job. He walked around the room, pacing around his desk as he spoke. He couldn't stand being barricaded behind his desk. He might as well have built a wall between himself and the students.
"Today we'll be learning about antidotes to common poisons. Most poisons can be cured using the potion you'll be brewing today. Please note, this will not work on uncommon poisons. Those will require a separate potion, and some poisons are simply incurable. On my desk are the pre-measured amounts you will need. The instructions are on the board. I will be walking amongst you to assist you. The final result should be bright green and smell of cherries. If you end up with a dark purple potion, you will likely kill someone with it. Good luck, and just try your best."
Liam walked back to his desk and gestured toward the ingredient bundles, encouraging his students to retrieve them and begin working.

"Hey!" Axel answered Persephone with a smile. "Are you ready for this?" He turned his attention to Professor Hartridge as he gave the instructions for the day. Axel was so excited. They were doing antidotes? He grinned, hardly able to wait for this. It felt like ages since the last time when he was able to brew a potion. He'd been looking forward to this class ever since coming back to school. Sure, not many people understood his enthusiasm for potions, but he didn't care.
He hurried up to the front of the room to get the ingredients that Professor Hartridge had measured out for them. Well, that was going to make this so much easier. Measuring ingredients was one of the most tricky parts of potions, and also one of the reasons Axel liked it so much. It gave him a challenge. He started adding the ingredients as directed, checking the instructions on the board frequently. Axel didn't want to make a mistake. He heated his cauldron to a medium temple and then looked up at the board, looking for further directions. It took him a while to find his place and he gasped. Five seconds? Crap! He hurriedly waved his wand over the cauldron, angry at himself for not reading the full instructions the first time. Five seconds. He had no idea how many seconds his potion was on medium heat, but it was well over 5. Hopefully that wouldn't make too much of a difference, but Axel wasn't sure. Sometimes seemingly little things made a big impact, especially in potions. He left his potion to brew for the allotted 45 minutes and looked around the room, curious at how the others were doing. "How is yours coming?" he asked Seph. While he really did want to do the best in the class, he hoped she did well in the class as well.

"Oh, I am ready, darling!" Seph said with a grin before turning toward Professor Hartridge. Seph leaned forward with wide eyes as he began to speak and got started as soon as they got the go ahead. She jumped up to grab what she needed from the desk and gave the Professor a big, sunny smile, "antidotes, what a good idea! Really useful, I'm sure," she compliment. She slowly and carefully followed the instructions, constantly looking at the book to assure that she was doing things correctly. She was so focused that she almost didn't even notice Axel say something to her. She turned toward him with wide eyes, surprised for a moment, before smiling softly. "I think it looks right! What about you? It smells like it's supposed to, I think. Mine, I mean. Yours looks good!" she spoke very quickly and turned back to her potion, but now her ear was open to his conversing.
