Cordelia wasn’t sure why she had asked McKenna for the boy’s name. There was no way that she would even remotely know who he was. She was more interested in knowing what house he was in, and it turned out to be Gryffindor. There were a few interesting people in Gryffindor, but none that she could think would want to hurt someone else, or at least trick them into doing something they normally wouldn’t. That didn’t fit their house at all. It did fit Slytherin though. She hated making assumptions like that especially because she didn’t know who these two boys McKenna encountered. They could just as well be products of being tricked too, and treating them like they were guilty for something she didn’t really understand or know the full story of wasn’t right.
The fact that the Gryffindor boy, Orion, was angry at McKenna for being there was kind of a foreign concept to her though. She completely understood what her friend was saying, but didn’t at the same time. Why would he be angry that she was there unless he was confused about the whole situation as well? That just went back to the idea that he was equally as drunk or drugged as well. “He could have been as c-confused as you were…” Cordelia stated to herself, not really meaning for it to be out loud at all. She closed her mouth quickly to stop herself. The last thing she wanted to do was make it sound like she was on the boy’s side, because she wasn’t. “…b-but I think it’s a good idea to t-talk to him again. To get the story straight.”
She nodded to McKenna as she was thanked for listening and helping. Cordelia didn’t really want to be thanked, since she thought that was what friends were supposed to do. “Of c-course. You and others have helped me when I’ve had t-t-trouble. I want to help where I can.” Cordelia smiled at McKenna, trying to show she appreciated all the help she had received over the years.
