Anna had too much fun with him? The idea of too much fun seemed foreign to Oscar, but he supposed that it was a good thing that she had fun with him. They did silly things together, too – like wandering around a castle or casting ridiculous charms or coming down to the kitchen just to make a food that Oscar had mentioned once at breakfast. “Be careful, or you might end up with more of my heart than you expected.” He told her. Considering there weren’t that many people who laid claim to Ozzy’s love, it was impossibly easy for one person to become a large part of his life, and not everyone was prepared for that.
Ozzy shook his head good-naturedly when Anna said that she didn’t want cilantro. He let the argument go, before it became a cycle of them rolling their eyes at each other. “Yes, it is from a lot of practice.” He told her with a smile. “There is a holiday in France, Chandeleur, where we make crepes. If you flip one and catch it while holding onto a coin and making a wish, your wish comes true.” Ozzy had perfected his crepe flipping skills after his mothers had died in hopes that the next Chandeleur would help turn around his poor luck, but it seemed he hadn’t even needed to wait that long for things to start looking up. “Well, for the steak, we don’t need much…” Oscar began, thinking. “Make sure that it is very thin, and then put salt and pepper on both sides, and then you can just sear it on both sides for three minutes.” He hoped that his mental calculations were sound – he didn’t want to be eating raw steak, or worse, overcooked steak.

Anna smiled, liking the idea more than she probably should. They were just friends. So how- as a friend- was she supposed to respond to that? She shrugged, deciding to go with the teasing route. "You don't really know us Weasleys very much, so I guess I should just tell you that we're not a very careful bunch," she confessed without remorse. It was true, too. All one had to do was watch Lily to have complete confirmation of that statement. Anna wasn't as wild as her cousin, but she had her moments and apparently this was one of them.
Anna smiled, liking the idea of this holiday. "That sounds like fun," she told him with a smile. "Does it work?" Anna knew it was probably just a tradition and not real, but she did like the idea of it. It was sweet.
At his instruction, Anna nodded and started to follow his instructions, cutting it thinly, and seasoning it accordingly. She hesitated before putting it in the pan. "You want me to do this part?" she asked, just making sure. She thought she could do it right, but she didn't want to mess it up. She wanted to try his crepes the way they were supposed to be and was slightly nervous she'd do something to them on accident.

Weasleys were not careful, but Oscar wasn’t sure that he’d want Anna if she wasn’t. Part of her charm was her carefree attitude towards things, and how little she needed others’ approval to be happy. He didn’t know what to say to that, so Ozzy just shrugged. Oscar blushed a little when Anna asked if the whole Chandeleur business worked. “Well, I was not good at flipping crepes for a long time…” He began. “And I have not ever succeeded at catching the crepe. So I do not yet know if it works. In Februrary, next Chandeleur, we can try together.” Oscar offered. February seemed like a long time away at the moment, but he was sure that after the Champiosn were announced, time would begin to fly by. Especially if he was the Champion, and he spent his hours studying or practicing. “You will have to practice flipping some crepes if you want to do that, though.” He wanted to make sure that Anna had the best chance possible at having her wish come true.
“Crepes are a good thing because we make them together.” Oscar replied when Anna asked about her cooking the steaks. “So what is the point if you do not get to do anything?” He asked rhetorically. “If you make a mistake, we can just ask for more steak. House elves will not mind.” Though Oscar wasn’t sure he wanted to ask anything more of them and have to look at their weird, beady little eyes. “I will make the herb butter. Or try to, while I also make crepes.” He informed her. It would take a spell or two to make sure the butter would be done in time, and a lot of multitasking to make sure that none of the crepes burned, but Ozzy wanted to get to their meal!

Anna grinned at his suggestion. "I think that would be fun!" She told him with a grin. "but it does mean you'll have to help me practice until then, if you're up for it." Anna wasn't sure if she knew what she would wish for, but that was months away. Surely she'd be able to find something to wish for by then. She wasn't sure if she thought it would really make her dream come true either, but it could be fun.
Anna laughed when he said there was no point in her doing nothing. "Ok, I'll start them then," Anna turned to the pan and started cooking the steak just like Oscar told her to. Occasionally she glanced over at him to see him working like a madman trying to do all sorts of things. "Wow. You're a little busy over there," she teased a little while later, once she was done cooking the steaks. She watched him flip another crepe, "You really are going to have to teach me how to do that sometime," she commented with a smile and a shake of her head. She liked watching him cook. She'd never seen a guy do that before.

Getting to celebrate Chandeleur with Anna was going to be a fun experience, Oscar was sure. It would be his first Chandeleur without his mothers, and Caden wouldn’t be there, either. He was sure other Beauxbatons students would be celebrating the holiday, but it was kind of like Christmas – it was better with the people you cared about. “Of course I will help you practice.” Oscar answered. It would be silly of him not to help her.
While Anna worked on the steaks, Ozzy was flying between doing various tasks for the herb butter, including chopping the herbs and melting the butter and cooling it using a spell, while also trying to make crepes. Anna commented that he was busy, and Oscar let out a little laugh. “Just a little. But it will be better now.” He had just finished the herb butter, which meant that the only thing left to do now was make the crepes and construct them, which would be easy. Anna commented again that he was going to have to teach her how to flip a crepe, and Ozzy tilted his head at her. “No time like the present.” He told her, unceremoniously handing her the pan, which already had a crepe bubbling inside of it. “Just a flick of the wrist.” He told her. “You will be a natural.” Maybe not, but Ozzy was curious to see how well (or poorly) Anna would do.

Anna laughed when he handed her the pan. "You can't be serious," she told him, fake glaring in his direction. "I've seen you do that one time, what makes you think I can do it?" she held the pan out to him, all but making him take it. There was no way she was going to try and do that on her own the first time. "If I try, it's just going to end up on the floor," she told him, still trying to convince him to take the pan back. Why did she tell him he'd have to teach her? She didn't mean this exact moment! Still, she had the pan in her hands. She bit her lip nervously as she looked at the crepe. How hard could it be to flip it? Probably harder than she expected, but still, she could try. "Fine," she said, flipping her wrist like he said. The only problem was, she did it a little too enthusiastically and it flew ... right where Oscar should be standing. Anna froze, wanting to see if he dodged in time or if the half-cooked crepe hit its unintentional mark and landed right on his face, but at the same time nervous to do so. She had no idea how he would react to a crepe in the face.

Oscar hadn’t expected to start this meal by having a half-cooked crepe in his face, but apparently that was what his overzealous encouragement of Anna had done to him. If he had been paying closer attention to what Anna was doing instead of making sure the steak didn’t get burned, he probably would have been able to dodge it, but as it was, Oscar now had a faceful of crepe batter. Oscar peeled what he could off his face, unsure whether he ought to laugh or get angry. It took him only a half a second to decide on the former, and Ozzy let out a deep belly laugh. “We will try again.” He said, accepting a washcloth from one of the house elves and using it to clean the last of the batter off of his face. Ozzy poured a new batch of batter into the pan that Anna was still holding. “This time, I think it would be better if I helped you a little.” He didn’t want another raw crepe in his face, that was certain. Oscar moved so he was slightly behind Anna, and hovered his hand over hers on the pan. "Is it alright if I touch you?" He asked. "I mean, so I can help with the flip." Oscar clarified, in case Anna got the wrong idea. What wrong idea, he didn't know, but...

Once Oscar started laughing, Anna turned around to look at him, so relieved that he didn't get angry. She wasn't really expecting him to, but they still didn't know one another too well and she did know he was self-conscious about his appearance. He looked so funny with the batter on his face and Anna couldn't keep herself from laughing. She wasn't really laughing at him, more like she was laughing with him. At least, that's what she told herself. Then he cleaned off his face and she giggled even more. "That really wasn't on purpose. I promise," she told him, still giggling a little bit at the memory. She was so glad she turned around before he wiped it off.
Then he he said she had to try again and Anna's giggles stopped immediately. Wait. He was going to make her try again? "Didn't I just prove that was a bad idea?" Anna asked nervously. As funny as that was once, she didn't want to waste the batter and make it fall on the floor. He moved behind her, saying he should help her and asking if he could touch her, to help her do it right. Anna gave an easy laugh, "Of course you can. I don't want my next one to land on the floor," she teased, moving her hand up so that his hand was actually on hers now. "Show me how to do it right," she added with a smile, even though he wouldn't be able to see it.

Anna appeared to find the situation hilarious, and Oscar rolled his eyes melodramatically at her. “I know.” Oscar replied, brushing Anna’s giggles off easily. “I have heard that raw egg is good for the skin. Perhaps it will make my face even more beautiful.” Oscar laughed at his own joke. The crepe hadn’t felt pleasant while it was on his skin, that much was certain, but in hindsight, the situation had been rather funny – as long as it didn’t happen again anytime soon.
Oscar smiled a little when Anna said that he could touch her, and laid his hand carefully over hers on the handle of the pot. He didn’t know why he was smiling so much, especially because Anna wouldn’t even be able to see that he was smiling in the first place, but Oscar didn’t know or understand a lot of things lately, least of all his feelings. Holding on tightly to Anna’s hand, Oscar made the same casual flicking motion with his wrist, enough to move the pan, but not enough to send the crepe flying to extraordinary heights. “It is much easier, once it gets into your muscles.” Ozzy told Anna warmly, stepping away from her now that the crepe had been properly flipped. “If you can, it might be better to practice with a slice of bread or something, until you can get used to the motion.” It was a compromise that would allow Anna to practice without wasting any of their precious crepe batter.

She was glad that Oscar knew she didn't do it on purpose, but Anna wasn't too worried even if he thought it was on purpose. What would he do about it? Worst case scenario, flip a crepe in her face. All things considered, that would be worth it. She laughed at his joke. "I'm pretty sure you just made that up," she teased back. "Besides, don't you think you're handsome enough?" He started it. Hopefully he wouldn't get offended by her continuing the joke. She watched him with interest, curious to see his reaction.
Something felt reassuring about him showing her what exactly she was supposed to do. She couldn't explain it and didn't feel like trying to figure out how to put a label on it, but she liked the feeling of his hand on hers. She grinned when he helped her flip the crepe and it actually worked. When he stepped away, Anna shivered slightly. Huh. There must be a small draft or something. Sure. She laughed, "Yeah, but how long is that going to take?" As long as Oscar helped her practice so she'd be ready in February. She smirked at him, "You just don't want me tossing more crepes on you," she accused. Really, the idea of practicing with bread was a good one, but she had to give him grief for suggesting it. "You might want to take over with this," she said, offering the pan to him so he could make the crepes. She was starting to get hungry.

Oscar shrugged when Anna said that he had made the raw egg thing up. “Maybe.” He agreed nonchalantly. “But until you learn Legilimency, you will never know.” Oscar wasn’t sure if he would put it past Anna to learn Legilimency just so that she could figure out what was going on inside of his head. If he was more magically talented, Oscar would probably try something similar to see if he could figure her out. “I will never be handsome enough.” Oscar lamented. “The sad thing about having seven billion people on earth is that there will always be someone more handsome than you.” Or prettier than you, gender depending. Though, Oscar was sure that if someone were to line the pretty people in the world up according to attractiveness, both he and Anna would be near the front.
“I do not know how long it will take.” Oscar said. Anna was supposed to be the patient one out of the two of them! Then again, from what he had heard, the people in her house were not good at patience. “I do not want too much raw egg on me, no.” There was some disease that came from raw eggs, though Ozzy couldn’t remember the English name for it. He accepted the pan when Anna gave it to him, and gestured with his free hand towards the finished crepes, herb butter, and steak. “Put some butter down the center and a few slices of steak, and when I am done with this crepe, I will show you how to fold them.” He told her with a smile.

Anna shook her head at Oscar. Like she was going to learn Legilimency just to know when he was making things up. Then he said he wasn't handsome enough. She grinned, not looking at him. "I think you're handsome enough," she commented in a light tone. Handsome enough for her taste, handsome enough to knock her off her feet. Especially when he was in a good mood and smiling. She didn't care if others looked better than him.
She sighed, "Well I guess I'll just have to practice," she muttered, not entirely pleased with the idea. Sure, she would like it if she could come with Oscar every time, but she doubted he would want to come with her so she could practice flipping bread. That would be a bore for him. "I thought raw egg was good for your skin," she brought it up again, smirking at him before turning to follow his instructions. At least this time he wasn't asking her to do anything out of her depth. She could put butter and steak on crepes.

Ozzy smiled a little at Anna when she said that he was handsome enough. He considered saying that she was pretty enough, but considering she had never expressed any thoughts to the contrary, he didn’t want to make her think her beauty was being called into question.
“Everything in moderation, Anna.” Oscar said sagely. “Except herb butter. Herb butter is okay in excess.” Ozzy loved the stuff, could never get enough of it. He would bathe in melted herb butter, if that didn’t sound disgusting. Maybe that had been a bit of a hyperbole. Ozzy finished with the crepe he had been cooking, and walked over to where Anna had been putting the ingredients onto the crepes. “You fold them this way.” Ozzy instructed, showing her the few simple folds that would minimize the chance that the ingredients would come spilling out of the crepe. “Bon appetit!” Oscar said when he was done. Now they could eat their meal and have a good time, knowing they had put good work into it. It was going to be good food, he hoped.
