More than she was physically tired, Maxima was tired of trying to explain her thought process to people. She didn't want to feel so stupid and selfish; she didn't want to feel anything at all. What couldn't people understand about that? Professor Longbottom himself had already spoken with her in private, as had Madam Blacksmith. Although she hadn't spoken with Madam Macmillan yet, Max knew that discussing what had happened with the counselor would be the worst conversation. She still didn't know what to say to Theodosia, either.
As soon as she was awake and stable enough to receive more visitors, Max had requested that Aaron and Odette be notified that she wanted to see them. Jamie had already told her that she had sent owls to Odette and Aaron, so the news that she was in the Hospital Wing wouldn't be a shock.
She had lost track of the time since she had been conscious, and, when she asked, she was told that it was already ten o'clock at night. That made sense; her mother, Khadija, had already left to return home a few hours before. It was already past curfew, but she begged to allow her half-siblings to see her. With so many people, Max knew that Madam Blacksmith would have to kick them out after a while, but she wanted to show them that she hadn't lost her mind. Even if they had to station Aurors at the door, she wanted to see the rest of her family.
Sitting up in her hospital bed, a tray table with a cup of tea on her lap, Max heard the footsteps of someone entering the Hospital Wing. She looked over at the entrance, smiling slightly when she saw who it was.

Aaron was a mess. The moment he received the letter from Jamie, he had left work. He couldn't bare to see all of those happy customers when his own sister was barely alive in Hogwarts's hospital wing. Getting to the school wasn't easy, either. There were aurors everywhere, and Aaron had to bully his way past some of the younger ones. He had finally been led to the school after explaining to the Aurors what had happened. They weren't happy about letting a stranger on school grounds, but he didn't care. His sister had almost died. He would storm his way through an army of Aurors to get to her. The man that gave them life may have been a twisted bastard, but he had the closest children one could imagine. Aaron hadn't even known his siblings that long, but he loved each of them dearly. He threw open the door to the hospital wing and made his way over to Max's bed. The Aurors on watch made pointed comments about his etiquette, but he ignored him. All that mattered was Max. Ignoring anyone that might be in the room, Aaron sat down on the bed, carefully pushed the tea aside, and drew Max into the biggest, tightest hug he could manage. Tears fell from his eyes as he buried his face in his sister's shoulder. "I ought to kill you myself, you brat," he said between violent sobs. "I'm so glad you're okay."@adrian @jill6 @jamie @odette lily luna potter maxima ruqayyah greyback

When Odette received Jamie's owl, it felt as if the world had sort of just... stopped. Odette could remember immediately and robotically sending Bill Weasley an owl telling her she may need a few days off of work and then she was in Hogsmeade. From there, Odette made the trek to Hogwarts castle on foot. She had sort of been hoping to run into Aaron, but she figured an owl had to have gotten to him first. Odette felt so numb as she crossed the school grounds, finally entering the castle. It wasn't until she stood outside the doors to the Hospital Wing and heard the crying from inside... Aaron's sobs, that she felt the sting of tears behind her eyes.
The Aurors outside the door raised eyebrows at her but looked away when Odette opened the door to the Hospital Wing. Seeing Maxima in that bed... well, it took everything for Odette to not break down right there. Slowly, she walked over to the bed in which her half-sister sat and looked down at her as Aaron enveloped her in a hug. Madame Blacksmith came around then and placed a chair behind Odette, to which she thanked her with a silent nod. Odette sat down in the chair, still looking at Max, and then finally just took her half-sister's hand in her own as the tears silently began to fall down her cheeks. She had no clue what to say. She was just glad that Max was okay.

Jamie had been banished from Max's room for what felt like forever in order for her sister to have discussions with the headmaster and the head nurse. She had used the time to go tell Elias, and then take a shower, though she still didn't sleep despite the urging of virtually every adult she knew. Since she had washed her hair and face, Jamie didn't look nearly as she had earlier that day, but she still had dark circles under her eyes and a sort of lost look on her face. She was informed by owl when her older siblings had come into the building, and Jamie made her way from the Hufflepuff common room to the hospital wing, unsure of what she was going to say to either of them. She was the oldest at Hogwarts, and she had a responsibility to all of the other children at the school to keep them safe. And she had failed.
Upon entering the hospital wing, Jamie grew even more unsure. Aaron was crying, and so was Odette, but Jamie couldn't cry anymore. She had done all of that when her other siblings were away, and she had been alone with Max. Silently, Jamie walked over to Odette's chair, seating herself on the floor beside her sister as she tried to make herself look as small as possible.

Elias had just been notified by Jamie that the rest of their siblings were all arriving to Hogwarts and that they'd be seeing Maxima. He left the Durmstrang ship and began making his way up to the school, extremely nervous. He hadn't even met Adrian yet...and this was going to be the first time Elias saw them all together, all in the same room. But it was for Maxima, and that is what is important.
As he entered the room, he saw Jamie sitting next to Odette, and Aaron was sitting on the bed. Seeing them like this...it not only made tears well up in his own eyes, but he felt like he was intruding. On their family. Not his. Like he shouldn't be here. Elias bit his lip, nervous, but he walked closer and stood behind Odette in the chair. He rested a hand on her shoulder.

Adrian, to no surprise, wasn't actually that close to Maxima. Out of all the siblings, he was one of the more distant, though he'd been getting better at it of late. But, despite that fact, hearing that Max... that his sister had t ried to commit suicide had been a heavy blow. He'd been up in Gryffindor's common room when he got word, chilling with Lily. He'd felt the breath knock out of his chest at the news, and a painful pounding in his head. How could she..? Why would she..? He didn't know if he should be upset, or angry, or relieved. He'd been so caught up in his own emotions that he almost missed when they told him all the Greyback kids had been given permission to visit Max. Immediately he didn't want to go. If he didn't go, it meant this wasn't happened. It'd mean she was fine, and he could keep on believing that none of this was happening. But it was, and he knew he had to go. Before he left the common room, he'd given Lily a look, a pleading look not to leave him alone right now, but he didn't say anything. Or stop to look to see if she came. He wouldn't blame her if she stayed behind. It was a.... family thing. But she was also one of the only things that kept him grounded.
To no surprise, he seemed to be the last one to arrive, and he froze in the doorway to take in the scene in front of him. Aaron was flat out sobbing. Odette was starting to cry. Jamie sat on the ground, quiet as a mouse. And then there was.. the Durmstrang champion. His half brother. It was Adrian's first time really getting a look at him, and he was starting to cry himself. Okay, time to turn back and run away. He was NOT going over there. No, no, no. No way in hell! If he got any closer he had to accept that this was really happening. His feet wouldn't move yet though. Not to carry him closer, or to run. He just stood there in the door way, rooted to the spot with his gaze fixated on his little sister in the bed.

Lily had been with Adrian, of course, when the news came. One hand flew to her chest, clasping over her heart, while the other hand flew to her cover her mouth. Both eyes were on Adrian. She knew the look on his face, the look that meant he wanted to run off, and probably never come back. She stared him down, hoping to steady him with her gaze. She didn't know Max as well as she knew Jamie or Adrian, but that didn't mean she wasn't family. Either way, this was Adrian's call. If he wanted to go down there she would follow him. If he wanted to stay here she'd stay. But she hoped that he wanted to go, because she so desperately wanted to. She wanted to be with his family, with her pack.
Finally Adrian stood, and started heading towards the door. Lily stood as well, and he turned to look at her. She knew that look in his eyes as well, the look that she wasn't allowed to leave him. She nodded, and he turned away and began walking. As he went, she jogged to catch up to him, and as soon as she did she clasped his hand, holding it tightly. She felt like if she let go they both might go crashing to the ground.
Eventually, they arrived at the hospital wing but Adrian stopped in the door in front of her. Lily released his hand and instead stepped behind him and wrapped both arms around his waist, moving her lips to his ear, "deep breaths," she muttered, after another few seconds she spoke again, "just hold onto me," she released his waist while simultaneously gently pushing him inside. Once she had enough room she'd step up beside him and take his hand again, pulling him forward.

The first to enter was Aaron, who had rushed in. It wasn't difficult to spot him—with his physique—and he immediately moved her tea out of the way to sit down upon her hospital bed and wrap her in a hug. Max hadn't seen him cry before, and just seeing him sob over her was enough to make her cry, too.
He told her that he ought to kill her himself for what she'd done. Hoarsely, she warned him, “Don't,” not that she could do much about it. Once had been bad enough, and she didn't want him to go to Azkaban for using the Killing Curse on her. She tried to comfort him as he pressed his face into her, awkwardly rubbing his back.
Beyond Aaron's sobs, Max watched as Odette came in. She seemed more shocked than anything. When she could let go of Aaron, she grabbed onto Odette's hand with her own as her elder sister began to cry. “I'm sorry, Odette…” She had never meant to be a bother, and she knew that Odette—and probably Aaron—were missing work to be there for her.
Jamie walked back in, too, and sat on the floor. Max offered her as much of a smile as she could, when her face felt hot from crying. Then, to her amazement, Jamie was followed in by Elias. Max couldn't believe that he cared enough about her to be there, when he could have been back on Durmstrang's ship with Maria, who was—thankfully, Max noted—nowhere in sight.
The last to arrive was Adrian, being pulled in by Lily Potter. By the time that they came, Max had already begun to feel overwhelmed by the number of people there, even if they were family. Talking about her half-siblings by her father was different from seeing all of them in the same room, plus the addition of Lily.
“Hi.” Max felt put on the spot to say something, now that they were all there and probably gathered around her under the assumption that she could still perish at any moment. She hadn't been allowed her wand, for her own safety; otherwise, she was the same Maxima that she had always been—if that Maxima had ever shown as much emotion as she had in the span of what must have been about five minutes. “…I'm alright.”

As the rest of their dysfunctional family began filing in, Aaron finally sat up, wiping his face on his sleeve. He tried to compose himself, but his eyes were still moist. He should compose himself. He was the oldest. The others would likely come to him for some sort of explanation. He could usually say the right thing in any situation. But there was nothing he could say to this. He didn't even know what to say to himself. He looked around the room at the somber faces and teary eyes. His emotions were shared, even if his emotional outburst wasn't. His eyes came to rest on Adrian and some girl he didn't recognize who appeared to be the only thing anchoring him in place. Their little wolf pack was all present and accounted for. Aaron wiped his eyes again. His breathing was a little more even, and he wasn't blubbering all over the place. He was struck with a sudden sense of familiarity that almost brought on more waterworks. He had only known his siblings for about a year, some less, one a few months. The girl with Adrian, he still didn't know. But this was his family. Some dark, evil creature had led all of them to being, and, somehow, they had all crossed oceans and continents to end up in the same room. He only wished it had been under better circumstances. He gestured for Adrian to come closer, despite the stricken look on the boy's face. They all needed to be together. Without waiting to see if the Adrian would actually join them, he turned back to Max. "Do you need anything?" he asked softly. He didn't want to be the overbearing older brother, but he didn't really know what else to do in this situation. If she asked them to leave, he wasn't sure he could do that. Leaving at all would be difficult. But he could at least make sure her physical needs were taken care of. That's what big brothers did, right? @odette @jamie @jill6 @adrian lily luna pottermaxima ruqayyah greyback

"Don't be sorry," Odette spoke just barely above a whisper in response to Max. Odette would have had to be blind to not notice her blonde sister enter the room when she did. When Jamie sat down next to her, Odette placed her free hand on Jamie's shoulder so that both of her hands were holding onto her sisters. Odette felt the presence of another enter the room and knew it to be Elias when she placed his hand on her shoulder. The two were not close, but his touch felt comforting and Odette pressed her cheek to his hand in a gentle squeeze between her shoulder and cheek.
When two other beings joined the group surrounding Max's bed, Odette looked up and was surprised by what she saw. It was Adrian. The Potter girl was there too, of course, but Adrian had come. Odette was not close with Adrian at all. She had hardly ever spoken to him. She was probably closer with Elias, whom she had just met, for Merlin's sake. But she was so happy he was there. A small, half smile briefly appeared on her face as she nodded once at him in greeting, showing how grateful she was that he had shown.
Odette turned to look at Max when she spoke. She felt a weight lift off of her shoulders when she said she was alright. It was just nice to be able to hear her say that. Then Aaron spoke and was asking her if she needed anything. "Yeah, if you need anything, anything at all - we're here for you," she piped up herself, her voice surprisingly quieter than usual.

No one other than Odette seemed to notice Jamie’s entrance, which relieved her. Everyone, however, seemed to notice Elias, and Jamie felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand up as she stared at him. He didn’t deserve to be here. He didn’t even know Max. Jamie only managed to keep calm because of the weight of Odette’s hand on her shoulder. The Hufflepuff put her own hand on top of her sister’s, trying to keep herself from doing something rash. It seemed silly, that everyone was coming now that Max was better. Jamie had been fighting through waiting for her to wake up alone, and now everyone wanted to act like the knights in shining armor? But of course she wasn’t allowed to be angry. She wasn’t allowed to feel anything, because until Max was better, Jamie’s entire life was on pause, including her emotions. Jamie adjusted her position on the floor so she was even closer to Odette, hoping that somehow that would make going through this easier. It didn’t. Odette was talking about how everyone was there for Max like they hadn’t been there before. Jamie had always been there, and look where it had gotten them now! Being there wasn’t enough. Being a good sister wasn’t enough. Jamie curled her shoulders further, making herself even smaller. Maybe if she just disappeared then things would be easier.

Elias turned as he heard the door open, and he just stared. He wasn't sure how to react. This must be Adrian, the one brother he had not met yet. And the fact that this was the circumstances under which the two brothers were meeting, it was actually quite sad to Elias. He looked into Adrian's eyes, and the both of them were filled with tears, Elias had to look away. He saw Lily, and he smiled gently at her.
His eyes immediately turned back to Maxima as she spoke. Elias tilted his head and listened to Aaron and Odette speak. He still felt out of place; he had really only met each of these people in the room only once, other than Jamie. And he hadn't even met Adrian yet. Elias was glad no one had kicked him out or questioned his presence, it made him feel a bit better but he was still concerned about Maxima. Elias gave her a gentle smile and small wave.

Lily was single handedly the only thing keeping him here right now. He wanted to run. As far, and as fast as he could and never come back. He wanted to forget about all this, and just pretend there was nothing wrong. But he couldn't, and he needed to stay put together and as stoic as possible. He didn't want his siblings to see just how shook up he was, or that... well that he cared. He'd done a bang up job pretending like he hadn't for so long. But today might be the end of that. Her arms around his waist and soft command to take a deep breath were all that was keeping him together. Slowly he inhaled and exhaled, taking that deep breath she'd ordered. Only then did he managed a small, curt nod. Squeezing Lily's hand tightly, she let him lead him inside and to his assembled siblings. He found his gaze pausing on each one. The brother he didn't know at all but had been named Durmstrang champion a few hours ago. Odette who hadn't spoken to much at all. Aaron, who was the same as Odette. Jamie who was probably the only one he was sort of close to. And then finally, Max, his only known younger sibling.
His lips were pursed together so tightly they were nothing more then a thin line. They didn't even twitch as some of his siblings offered smiles, or motioned for him to come closer. His expression in general would probably be hard for any of them to read, only Lily would really know that it was his "I'm about to run' expression, because she'd seen it so many times. Holding her hand a little tighter, as if clinging to it, the pair approached the bed as much as he dared. He still stood apart from his siblings when he finally stopped, forcing Lily to stop with him, but he was close enough that it was obvious he was here for them. Only then, did he look at Max once more and offered the smallest of nods, silently letting her know he was there for her. He'd somehow lost his voice and couldn't muster up any other response.

There were so many people there even Lily would have felt overcrowded, so she was glad when Adrian stopped not too close. Lily knew that look in his eyes, the one that meant he wasn't going to last long here. But, she knew he could stay for just a moment, just long enough to show his support and be a part of this family. That's what she was here for, to hold him steady. She felt his grip tighten on her hand when they stopped.
Only then did Lily take her eyes away from Adrian in order to look around the group. She didn't know the eldest brother well enough to linger, but she gave him a soft smile. When her eyes found Odette they did the usual thing, glazing over with admiration. The two oldest siblings gave offers of help, which was to be expected. Then she found Elias as he gave ther that smile and she smiled back widely, happy to see him there. At first she couldn't find Jamie, until she looked down. She frowned, squeezing Adrians hand. She wanted to go to Jamie, but she couldn't otherwise Adrian would be gone in a heartbeat. No, the best thing was to focus on Maxima. Lily's eyes finally found her and she smiled softly, "quite a mangy looking support group, isn't it?"

Time passed at a snail's pace, and the scene that was playing out before Maxima's eyes was as strange as anything that she had ever seen. If what was happening was really her life, it didn't feel like it. Aaron tried not to look so upset, and he asked her if she needed anything.
Max knew that she wasn't getting her wand back yet, until the nurses were certain that she wouldn't try to hurt herself again. She didn't want to do anything of the sort; she just wanted to feel less like a helpless little girl who couldn't be trusted with a magical stick. That didn't strike her as an appropriate response to Aaron's question, so Max went with the next best option and shook her head. Odette, too, had chimed in that they were there if she needed anything, but the only other thing that came to her mind was how useful a Time-Turner would have been.
She hated that they all looked so sad. Jamie looked as though she wanted the floor to swallow her up, and Elias had managed to give her a wave. Even Adrian, who never seemed to be too concerned about anything, had nodded to her. Max was somewhat thankful that he and Lily weren't quite as close to the bed as the others, if only because it made her feel less like she was some sort of specimen that they were examining. (If nothing else, she thought, she was getting a taste of what her funeral would have been like, which made her even more thankful that she wasn't dead.)
“Quite a mangy-looking support group, isn't it?”
Lily's voice was the next thing Max heard, and she smiled back at her attempt at a joke. She had said what none of them had had the courage to say aloud, probably for fear of sounding insensitive. It was amusing, though, in Max's view, because Lily's observation was entirely true. They were a mess, and there was no other way around it.
“Yeah,” she nodded in agreement with the sentiment, looking around at each one of her half-siblings. Getting mawkish over them wasn't Max's style, but she was in disbelief that they were really there. Adding onto Lily's comment, she cracked a joke of her own. “None of you have got fleas, right?” Max wasn't much of a comedian, and she hoped that none of them would take offense.
