Edmund had a lot of making up to do, especially after that stunt he pulled the other day with her brother and the broom closet. Yes, Edmund had fixed the issues they had but the way he had gone about it was, well, rude! And while Addi appreciated all that he had done to help her and Grey, she still felt the need to be a little upset with him.
It was her birthday; her 17th birthday to be exact, and it was also the night the champions were going to be announced. Edmund had told her he wanted to do something nice for her and to meet him in the Room of Requirement at 2 pm sharp. She had done just that, wearing tight black jeans, a denim top, and black wedges. Her hair was left wavy as she just wanted to be comfortable. Addilyn walked into the room smiling, "Edmund?"

Addi was still mad at him. Really, it wasn't that surprising, but he hoped that she would forgive him before today. Her birthday. Edmund spent the last few months trying to come up with something that she would actually like for her birthday, something memorable. The thing was, Edmund didn't know how to make her birthday more memorable than it was already going to be. The champions for the Triwizard Tournament were going to be chosen tonight, which was a major event on her birthday. How was he supposed to top that?
He had sort of an idea of what he wanted to do with her this afternoon. well, he knew what he wanted to start off with, then he would improvise as he spent time with her. Honestly, all he wanted to do was be with Addi. Did it really matter what they did with one another? He had the room ready, just like he had at the beginning of the school year when he told her he was going to teach her how to dance. Hopefully this time she wouldn't twist her ankle.
He turned around and smiled when he heard her voice. "Adds, happy birthday!" He told her enthusiastically, rushing forward and pulling her into a tight hug. "How has your day been so far?" He whispered into her hair, still hugging her. Unless she wanted to prove that she was still angry at him by pushing him away, he was going to act as if everything was good between them. To him, it was. And the best way to show that was treating her the way he wanted to, like his girlfriend.

@edmund <3 She immediately saw him, and it made her smile. "Thank you, E." Seventeen wasn't too much different than sixteen. It was unusual how close her and Grey were in age. He had just turned eighteen only a few days ago, and here she was turning seventeen. Edmund was still sixteen, but she had been planning his seventeenth birthday for him for awhile now.
Her arms wrapped back around his torso and she squeezed tight. Yes she was still upset with him, but she'd get over it. He had helped her get her brother back, and that was something she really truly couldn't be mad at him for. Addilyn breathed in deeply and grinned brighter. "My day's been good so far. I got to sleep in, which is always good. How's your day been?" Addi pulled back slightly to look him in the eyes.

Edmund laughed when she said that her day was nice because she'd been able to sleep in. That was not so for him. He'd been trying to plan this surprise for her ever since he woke up, which was quite early. He wanted to make sure that things went well for her today, that he could do something to make her happy. "My day was good. Busy, but not in a bad way," of course not in a bad way; he was getting things ready for her. Always a good thing.
Edmund didn't want to destroy his surprises, but he wanted to dance with her. A few nights ago he realized that the only time they danced with one another was ruined by ... well, it didn't matter by what, it was ruined. And he didn't want her to have bad memories of dancing. He wanted Addi to have good memories, so he was determined to make this one of them. "Come with me," he told her as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the middle of the room, which started playing music for the two of them. Edmund grinned, pulling her close and whispering into her hair, "Will you dance with me, Adds?" He was sure she'd say yes, but figured that since it was her birthday, he would give her the choice. She hadn't looked happy and relaxed and just like her in the longest time and Edmund planned to take advantage of that fact to try and make her even happier, especially on her special day.

@edmund <3 "Well busy is always good, E." Addilyn missed being happy. She had missed having her life together and enjoying time with her brother and boyfriend. Her and Claire still weren't up to par, unfortunately. Her sister wasn't talking to her, and nor was she.
Her eyebrow rose, and a big smile formed as he grabbed her hand and led her to the middle of the room. It all looked quite familiar to her, not that she minded, Addi actually thought this was very sweet. She hadn't expected anything more than a gift or going out to eat from Edmund, but he apparently had a different plan. His whispering made her whole body shiver, and she tilted her head to the side, shutting her eyes as she enjoyed being so close to him. Addilyn nodded her head. "I'd love to, Edmund." Addi placed her hand on his bicep, and held their other hands up in the air.

Edmund shrugged, "Sometimes, but sometimes I just want to relax and enjoy life instead of feeling like I have to run around everywhere," he told her. He wasn't exactly sure if she would understand that, but it was true. Especially when he was spending time with her, Edmund wanted life to slow down a little. All too often it felt like his time with her just flew by.
She grinned when he pulled her into the middle of the room and Edmund was sure he made a good decision for today. He felt her body shiver before she agreed to dance with him and he was smiling wider than he had in a long time. "Good," he told her with a smile, moving to dance position. As soon as she was ready, he started gliding around the room with her, going slowly at first to make sure she remembered how. After all, it was more than a month since their last dance session together. Not that that one went too well ... hopefully this one would be better. No, not hopefully, it would be better. He would make sure of it. "So are you excited to see what happens tonight?" He asked her as they danced.

@edmund <3 Addilyn didn't want Edmund to feel as if he needed to do something for her birthday. She'd rather him just relax if that was what he was stressing over. Her birthday didn't need to be perfect, and it was already going to be fun. The champions were going to be announced tonight and even Addilyn knew that there would be parties. Whether she would be allowed in, she wasn't sure. But she did have quite a few friends in each house, so maybe she would, who knows.
The dancing started out slow, not that she minded. It was enjoyable, dancing with him. And she was sure it would be even more fun on the day of the ball. "Excited? Yes. Nervous for Grey, though...I'm glad he entered, but, I'm also scared he could get hurt. Don't tell him this, but I'd rather him not be chosen." Her cheeks turned a light pink. Her brother meant a lot to him, and having him risk his health was not something she agreed with.

Edmund nodded when Addi admitted her concerns. "I can understand that. I don't know how I'd feel if Susan entered. I'm just glad that I know she's going to be safe. It makes it so I can enjoy the tasks so much more. I hope Grey doesn't get chosen either. I don't want you or him to have to stress or worry about it. Don't tell him I'm on your side about this, though. I don't know how much he'd like that," Edmund added with a smile. He was almost positive that Grey would understand both Edmund and Addi's feelings about the tournament, but that didn't mean he'd like it.
"Just think, at least we'll find out who it is tonight and we can probably stop stressing about it then. I mean, the chances of it actually being Grey are ..." he trailed off, trying to do the math in his head for a minute before giving up. "Small. I don't think he'll be chosen." Edmund felt like he was rambling, so he stopped, focusing on the dance with Addi. He didn't want to do or say anything to ruin today for her and he was worried that talking about Grey and the tournament might do just that. "So, how are you feeling about the Yule Ball?" he asked, a mischievous grin on his face. Of course, he was referring to dancing at the Yule Ball, but he wasn't going to specify. He was curious about what she would tell him.

@edmund <3 "Well I'm sure Grey wouldn't want Claire or I entering the tournament...well, actually, maybe he wouldn't mind Claire." Addilyn giggled. Her and Claire were still arguing, but she knew Edmund wouldn't be able to fix that one. That was all Claire, and Addi wasn't actually sure how she'd react to Edmund being not only her best friend but her boyfriend.
She nodded her head. There were plenty of seventh years, however neither of them knew how many had actually put their name into the Goblet of Fire, meaning they weren't sure the actual ratio of chance of Grey being chosen. But no matter what, they'd find out tonight and then Addilyn could relax her nerves. Edmund brought up the yule ball and she smiled brightly. "I'm excited for getting ready and putting my dress on and dancing!"

Edmund gave a small smile at Addi's joke about Grey and Claire. He wasn't sure if Addi would want to talk about this, but he couldn't help but ask. He hadn't heard her mention Claire in a while. "How are things with Claire?" He made his tone conversational on purpose. He didn't want Addi to go completely serious, but he was curious. She knew him well enough to be able to tell that from his tone, if she was paying attention.
She was still nervous. Edmund could see it in her eyes and feel it in the way she was dancing with him. She was doing really well for only her second time, but some of her moves seemed just a little stiff to him. Maybe all this talk was distracting her from the dancing. Or it could be the thought of Grey becoming champion. Edmund really hoped that wouldn't happen, for Addi's sake. He grinned at her, "So you're not nervous about the dancing anymore then?" he teased lightly. Really, he was looking forward to the Yule Ball almost more than finding out who the champion was going to be. A whole night with Addi where they could just dance and enjoy spending time with one another. It seemed perfect.

@edmund <3 Addilyn huffed. Of course he'd ask about Claire. She shrugged as they continued to dance along. Her mind was on other things yes, but she was trying her hardest to concentrate on the steps. She'd have to pay attention while dancing at the Yule Ball that was for sure, she couldn't make a fool out of herself in front of everyone at the three schools. "She's ... I'm not sure. She's Claire. We haven't spoken in awhile."
"Nervous?" Her eyes widened and she looked up at him. A smile immediately made it's way onto her face. Edmund was so sweet, so creative and so ... handsome. Addilyn wasn't sure what made her so lucky to be able to have him as her boyfriend, as her best friend, but she wasn't ever going to let him go. "A little nervous. But I'm more excited. It's going to be so much fun, Edmund." Addilyn's eyes sparkled, and she moved onto her tippy toes to place a gentle and quick kiss on his lips.

Edmund's eyebrows furrowed at her response about Claire. Yes, he wanted to keep the conversation light, but he felt like there was something she was keeping from him. He knew things weren't going perfectly with her older sister, but he hadn't realized that they weren't talking with one another. Still, he didn't want things to be completely serious, so he smiled at her. "You know if you ever want to talk to me about anything, even her and Grey, you can right?" His smile became slightly sly as he added, "I promise, I won't lock you in another closet with either of them, no matter how much you guys need it." He wasn't sure if it was too soon to tease her about that, but she never really got as angry as he thought she would about it, so what the heck? Also, he did want her to know that he wasn't going to do that again. She didn't need to hide things from him for fear that he would lock her in a closet.
He grinned at her, pulling her a little closer, "I'm glad you're excited. You're dancing is getting really good, you don't have anything to worry about. We're going to have the best night," he promised. Edmund hoped he'd be able to keep that promise, but he also didn't see a reason why things wouldn't work out. It should be a blast. He bent down to give her a quick kiss back, to seal him promise.

@edmund <3 Addilyn playfully glared at him. "Yes, Edmund, I know I can speak to you about anything." She kept her mouth sealed after that. She was really just teasing him; Addi had thought she had told him about Claire when everything with Grey was going on as she hadn't had either of her siblings to be around which is why she had gone down such a bad turn. However if she hadn't told him, she would, there was no reason to hide it from him. Of course, like he said, until a closet came into play. "Oh, stop it you! That better be a promise."
She let out a small smile and him and giggled quietly as he pulled her closer into him. Addi enjoyed dancing with Edmund, it was fun and she was loving it. "I'm glad I don't have anything to worry about, E. I don't want to make a fool out of myself you know. Even if it is with you." She laughed some more, but was stopped short when he kissed her. Addilyn smiled into the kiss and kissed him back, pouting when he pulled away.

Edmund knew Addi enough to know that things were fine. He told her the truth and she knew that if she ever wanted to talk about it, he was here for her. That wasn't ever going to change. "Just making sure," he told her with a sly smile, ignoring her glare. He laughed when she said it better be a promise and nodded smartly. "I won't ever throw you into a closet again unless you tell me to," he teased.
Edmund shook his head, "You won't make a fool out of yourself. Even if you were trying to, I would stop you," he told her, smiling. He couldn't remember the last time he'd teased her like this. It felt so great! After so many weeks of worrying and trying to help her, having a calm, fun conversation like this was all he wanted. Well, except for her kiss. She started pouting when he pulled away so he raised an eyebrow at her. "So what do you want for your birthday Adds?" he asked after a few seconds. He felt like he'd been begging her to tell him what she wanted for the longest time. Maybe this time he would get an actual response.

@edmund <3 Addilyn shook her head at him, trying to hide a smile. Edmund was truly something else, she couldn't believe what he was saying and teasing her about. "Edmund, trust me. I don't think I will ever ask you to throw me into a closet, but thank you for being so respectful about it." She laughed. He hadn't been prior, but he was now at least. Grey hadn't been too mad, and she understood why, but her anger was for a different reason.
"You'd stop me? How sweet." Addilyn shook her head. At least he wouldn't let her make a fool out of herself, but now...she just might. Just for Edmund. To get him back for throwing her into a closet. Now that would be funny, but he might get embarrassed and angered by her. Oh well! Edmund completely ignored her pouting and Addilyn narrowed her eyes at him, crossing her arms across her chest. Her birthday? "Nothing, Edmund I've told you this. I just want you."
