Harry wasn't sure why he agreed to this. He knew why, of course, but he didn't know why. It was all confusing and messy and he wished that things were as black and white as they had been when he had been in the Tournament. Then, it had all been about survival. He had to practice, he had to compete, or he would die. Now, though, he was watching someone he cared about go through the exact thing, have made the choice to go through the exact same thing, and Harry didn't know what to do. He wanted to support Anna, but with how opposed he was to the Tournament as a whole, it was difficult. He supposed it was the equivalent of supporting the solider while opposing the war, except for that Anna had chosen this war for herself. And he didn't know what to do about that. It was harder and harder to be the supportive uncle when he wanted to be nothing more than another faceless Auror guarding the school. Harry let out a sigh as he mounted the last set of stairs to the Gryffindor tower. He gave the Fat Lady a smile, but she scowled back at him. She probably still wasn't over all of the times Harry had sneaked out at night. He couldn't blame her for that, Harry supposed. He waited outside the entrance to the Gryffindor common room, waiting for his niece to appear.

Anna got up in plenty of time to meet Uncle Harry, but she hadn't accounted for stumbling around in the dark. It was a Saturday and she had no intention of waking her friends up before they were ready. They would only ask her what she was doing and where she was going and she didn't want to have to explain it to them. Besides, they would probably think she was going to see Oscar, no matter what she really was up to. They didn't realize that he disappeared.
Only two or three minutes late, Anna stumbled down the stairs and into the common room. She checked to make sure she had everything she might need before she walked out through the portrait. "Uncle Harry!" She said, smiling widely when she saw him. She moved forward to give him a quick hug, like she had when she was younger and they were closer. Apparently now fate was encouraging them to be closer with one another again, due to the fact that Anna was champion. "Are you ready to go eat something?" She asked as she started walking to the staircases. Even if he wanted to talk or something before they ate, they would need to go to the staircases.

Anna was a minute or two late to their meeting, but Harry didn’t care; he remembered what it was like to have to drag himself out of bed before the sun rose in the morning. It wasn’t a fun experience, and he commended Anna for doing it willingly, especially on a weekend. It wasn’t that long of a wait, anyways, and when Anna came out of the portrait hole, she looked much more put together than Harry probably did. All these years later, and he still hadn’t figured out how to get his hair to lie flat. It was a good thing that he hadn’t visited his mother-in-law lately; she’d probably start fussing over his hair and the fact that he always looked a tad too skinny. Harry grinned at Anna, and accepted her hug quickly. “Yup, let’s grab some breakfast.” It had been forever since Harry had had a proper breakfast, mostly of his own volition – he didn’t feel like making anything other than toast on the days where he worked. Having someone else make his breakfast was a luxury that he wished he could have back. “Is there anything in particular you want to go over today?” Harry asked as they began descending the several flights of stairs that would lead them to the Great Hall. “Or do you just want to do a practice interview?” Harry was eager to answer any and all questions that Anna had, but he was equally content just to let her practice.

Anna smiling teasingly at her Uncle, "You just miss Hogwarts cooking, don't you?" She assumed he would know she was teasing. She'd always been that way, so it wasn't like it was a new thing. Her eyebrows furrowed as she thought. "Maybe I can ask some questions during breakfast and then after we can practice an interview?" she suggested slowly. Really, she wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. She was comfortable with Uncle Harry. She knew that he would tell her the truth and not mince his words, but also that everything he said would be to help her. They arrived at the Great Hall and Anna took a seat, not hesitating to grab some food. She wasn't particularly in a hurry, but at the same time she was. She didn't want to deal with the breakfast rush, even though it was a Saturday and that shouldn't happen for a while. Anna wasn't really sure what she expected, but she hoped today would help her feel more prepared. She felt like the first task was coming up too fast and she didn't know what else to do to get ready. Hopefully spending today with her Uncle would help. HARRY JAMES POTTER

Harry would have laughed at what Anna said if it hadn’t been so damn true. Instead, he forced himself to give a sad little nod of assent; joke or not, she deserved to know that she had it good when it came to the good at Hogwarts. Making your own food was exhausting, and Harry still wasn’t used to it. (He didn’t think he was a very good adult – despite the fact that he was responsible for the most elite police force in the Wizarding World, he was still capable of burning dinner twice in the same night.) At Anna’s suggestion about how they go about their lesson, Harry nodded again. It seemed like a solid plan. When they sat at the table, Harry put a few strips of bacon on his plate, and contemplated a hash brown before taking that, as well. “You understand that I’m doing this as your Uncle Harry, not as Harry Potter, correct?” Harry asked. There were a lot of lines for him to walk when it came to being impartial, since he was part of the force that guarded the Champions, but he was still Anna’s uncle, and he wanted to help her. “Where do you want to start?” He had already given her a list of spells to practice, and he was certain Parvati was helping, too, but it was good to open the floor to her.

Before she knew it, the two of the were sitting at the Gryffindor table, eating. Anna's eyes swept the hall, out of habit. She already knew Oscar wasn't there. He was in France. She shook her head slightly and turned to face her uncle, giving her complete attention. There was no point in wasting her time with him thinking about someone else. She needed to use this to prepare. When he asked if she understood he was doing this as her Uncle, Anna nodded hesitantly, "Meaning ... you're not doing this officially, you're doing this because you're my Uncle, right?" Was that what he was getting at? She thought so, but wasn't quite exactly sure. She took a deep breath when he asked what she wanted to know first. "What do you think my priority should be? When it comes to preparing, that is? Preparing my mind, practicing my magic ..." she trailed off. What exactly was she getting at? She wasn't quite sure and didn't know if Uncle Harry would either, but she was going to leave it at that for the moment. When he asked her to explain what she meant, she would just do her best to. Harry nodded when Anna said that he wasn’t doing this officially. If he had been, then he would have had to meet with the other Champions, too, and Harry didn’t have time for that. If he was honest, he had barely had time to talk with Anna, as much was he was trying to pretend otherwise. Anna asked what her priority should be, and Harry paused. He had had to focus on his magic when he was in the Tournament, but he had also had much less magical instruction at that point than Anna did now. The next most important thing was the ability to adapt, so Harry went with that. “You want to be able to change your plan on a dime. If something isn’t working, you need to be able to scrap it and start over as quickly as possible.” The Tournament was meant to be surprising, which meant that it changed often and without warning. “The ability to adapt to what’s happening around you is most important.” He reiterated. “If you’d like, I can send Parvati – sorry, Madam Macmillan – a list of exercises I think would help.” They had similar reflex exercises for training new Aurors, and there were some things that Harry himself did to keep sharp, and if they could help Anna, Harry was more than happy to share.

Anna nodded as she took in Uncle Harry's words. Improvisation, right? That's what he was saying was the most important. Well good. That gave her something to shoot for. In order to be able to improvise in any given situation, one had to know what they were doing and know other options of what they could do. Anna could do that. She just needed to study, review things and search out new information. At least that was doable. "Okay," she answered with a determined nod. She smiled, nodding again at his suggestion of sending exercises for her to work on. "That's probably a good idea." Really, Anna was game for anything that could help her, whether it be magical spells to study or exercises to help her practice her reflexes. She looked down at her plate, realizing that she didn't really want to eat more. She put down her utensils and turned her attention to Uncle Harry. "Anything else?"

Anna seemed to be taking this seriously, which Harry was glad for – too many kids these days were treating the Tournament like a game. Harry winced at his internal monologue. He really was starting to sound old. He nodded once to acknowledge her agreement to him sending exercises, making a mental note to gather up his resources whenever he could find the time. Anna asked if there was anything else, and Harry thought a moment. “Don’t let people get to your head.” He said after a long pause. “There are going to be people who don’t like you because they think that they could do better, or because they’re from a different school, or for whatever reason. And it can be discouraging. But don’t let it get to you.” Hopefully it wouldn’t be as horrible for Anna as it had been for Harry, since she was Hogwarts’s only Champion, but he never could tell. “Are you ready to go?” Anna seemed to have eaten her fill, and Harry could shove a few more mouthfuls in and chew while they walked if Anna was ready.

Anna nodded at Uncle Harry's next piece of advice. It made sense and she'd already experienced it firsthand. Not that she'd told many people about it. About Lucy and what she said to Anna on Halloween night. It was hard on Anna. She had a hard time sleeping because of it and lots of doubts about herself stemmed from that conversation with someone who should be one of her biggest supporters. She wondered if it had been worse for Uncle Harry when he was champion, but she didn't want to ask him about it. She didn't want to tell him about Lucy. "Thanks Uncle Harry. I'll try- I'll try to keep that in mind." She couldn't help herself from stumbling in the middle of her sentence and hoped it wasn't a dead giveaway. She wasn't sure how Uncle Harry would react to knowing what Lucy said to her and she didn't want to find out. Well, a part of her did, but the rest? Not really. He asked if she was ready and Anna put on another smile, "I am! So where are we headed?" She asked curiously. She could see him wanting to go to the Room of Requirement, or maybe somewhere outside that not many people went, but she wasn't sure. HARRY JAMES POTTER

Harry wasn’t the best at reading people – he had gotten better during his time on the Auror force, but he still couldn’t profess to be anything above average – and even he could tell that something was wrong when Anna stuttered in the middle of her sentence. That almost never happened. He wouldn’t ask her about it now, though, not with so many people around. When they got to their destination, though, Anna could be sure that she would be asked about that little slip up. His niece asked where they were going, and Harry smiled. “The Room of Requirement, of course.” He replied. That was the only place in the school that Harry trusted wouldn’t have any bugs in it, and they could also restrict who could come and go as they pleased. In this case, Harry was only going to allow Parvati through the door, though he doubted that even she would want to interrupt Harry and Anna’s session. “I figure we can do the practice interview, and then, if there’s time, work on a couple of those adaptation exercises I talked to you about earlier.” Harry said as they approached the room. The door appeared in due course, and Harry gestured for Anna to enter first, before following her in.

Anna nodded when Uncle Harry told her they were headed to the Room of Requirement. It wasn't really all that big of a surprise. She knew it was one of the best places to practice anything, because it gave you exactly what you wanted- down to choosing who could enter the room with you! "That sounds good to me," Anna said, relieved that she was finally going to get to talk to Uncle Harry alone, that she could practice with him. It was a good way to distract her from everything going on. She stepped in the room and looked around her with a smile. She loved how this room was different every time she entered it. Though, the last time held slightly sad memories for her, along with happy ones. Her dance with Oscar. Still, that wasn't important now. Uncle Harry took time out of his busy schedule to come and help her and she needed to give him her undivided attention. She turned back to face her Uncle. "I'm ready," she told him with a cheerful smile. "So how do we start this?" HARRY JAMES POTTER

Anna said that she was ready, and Harry nodded, adopting his professional persona. He had done so many interviews in his time as Head Auror (and even before then, though those hadn’t been nearly as pleasant as the ones that he had encountered in his adult life). “Good morning, Miss Weasley.” Harry said, smiling coolly at his niece. All familiarity that had been in his face and voice were gone, and Harry was rather proud of how easily he had been able to slip into someone else’s skin. Maybe in another life he could have been an actor. Of course, Occluding was making the whole thing a lot easier, not that he expected Anna to try to search his head – it just brought him a sense of calm that Harry didn’t always have. “Congratulations on being made the Triwizard Champion.” Harry paused to give Anna time to accept the congratulations, if she remembered to do so, before continuing. “Now, your family has had a history of service to the magical community here in Britain. Can you speak a little on how your family has shaped who you are today?” It wasn’t the best question to start out with – it was probably, in fact, the worst question that Harry had concocted as far as focusing on something other than Anna – but he figured it was a natural way to start an interview. Begin with the past, move on to the present, and then look towards the future. It would make a good storyline if this was a real interview.

It took Anna about all of a second to realize that during their mock interview, Uncle Harry was planning on actually behaving like he would if he were a reporter. That was different, since she'd really just expected him to help her practice figuring out what to say, but it was probably better this way. The really unexpected thing was, he was pulling it off well. "Good morning," Anna responded with her own smile, telling herself that she had to treat Uncle Harry like she would if he were a reporter. He congratulated her and Anna responded without thinking. "Thank you so much," She said smoothly before going back to listening to his question. How her family had shaped her? It was a good question, not that she expected less from him. He did have a lot of experience with interviews, after all. "Really, almost every part of who I am today comes from my family. Throughout my life, I've had so many Uncles, Aunts, cousins and other family members who are there for me and supporting me, and I like to think that is something that I do for others. I like to support those around me, to help them feel good about themselves and build them up, which is not something I could have learned on my own. My family has also taught me to have fun, even in hard circumstances." It was true. Even during hard times, the extended Weasley family could get together and just enjoy one another's company. "I think life is meant to be enjoyed and that one of the challenges in life is to find the good even in the middle of all the difficulties." She nodded and smiled, hoping that was good enough and that she didn't go deep. It was true; all of it was, of course, she just didn't know if that was something she should say. Still, she wasn't going to break character until Uncle Harry did. She was positive he knew she was uncertain about whether that was a good answer or not, but if he was going to continue on as the reporter, she would act confident and like she knew what was going on. Anna was quick to realize that he wasn’t going to be walking her through anything step-by-step, and the ease with which she pulled on the smile simultaneously made Harry proud and worried. She was able to do it so easily, and it made him wonder if maybe she wasn’t as pleased with the whole Champion thing as she pretended to be. He made a mental note to ask her one more time about her feelings about being Champion, after the interview. She accepted Harry’s congratulations, and he scribbled that down on a piece of parchment under a column labelled ‘positives’. Under the opposite column, labelled (funnily enough) ‘negatives’, Harry jotted down a note about family. It was good that Anna was proud to be a Weasley, but there was certain to be at least one radical who assumed that the Goblet of Fire was rigged to pick Anna. There was still the rumor floating around that Harry had tricked the Goblet during his own stint as Champion, and…well, people were going to believe what they wanted to believe, especially if it gave them a reason to delegitimize Anna’s Championship.
“You mentioned having fun.” Harry said when Anna was done speaking. “Do you see this Tournament as just another way to have fun? Is it a game for you?” It was a question Harry would like to be asked of all of the Champions, but he was curious to see how Anna navigated her way out of this situation. Admitting that the Tournament was just a game definitely wouldn’t be a smart answer, but Harry wasn’t sure if there were any smart answers to that question. He hadn’t intended to come into the interview with questions meant to trick Anna or make her stumble, but it seemed he was unintentionally doing just that.
