Oscar bristled a little at Anna’s reply to his taunt. He knew that it was a valid concern, but something about it still rubbed him the wrong way. “The Tournament is supposed to be about friendship between schools.” Oscar replied stubbornly. “I do not care if people think I am helping competition, because you are not supposed to be competition.” The brotherhood aspect of the Tournament had been what the various headmasters had pitched to justify their glorified ego-stroking, so why was it such a bad thing that Oscar was actually practicing what they were preaching?
Getting out of the candy shop was thankfully less traumatic than it could have been, and when the pair of them escaped its clutches, Oscar had his bag of candy pressed against his chest. “Well, I would like to sample my purchase.” Oscar told Anna. “While we are still here and I can yell at shop if it is bad.” He explained. He gestured to a nearby bench they could sit on while he prepared to eat the candy, and busied himself with unwrapping the candy. “Here, have one.” Oscar told Anna, pinching one of the jelly worms between his thumb and forefinger and wiggling it in front of her face with a devilish smile.

Oscar was upset. All right, maybe annoyed was a better word. Irritated. Still, the fact was he wasn't happy and until he spoke Anna wasn't sure if it was because she didn't mention him or for her reason. She gave a small smile, hoping he would calm down a little bit. "I know that and I am really glad that we're friends," Anna started, speaking slowly as she tried to find the right words. "I just didn't want to mention you without talking to you first because I know that not everyone feels the same way and I didn't want anyone getting mad at you with you not knowing why ..." Alright, so it was a stupid reason and he had reason to be mad at her for breaking her promise, but didn't she have all year to keep it?
Anna grinned when Oscar talked about wanting to try his candy. She moved to the bench to sit next to her. "Are you really expecting it to be bad?" She asked curiously, taking a look at what he decided to buy. It looked good to her. He started teasing her and Anna rolled his eyes as he dangled the candy in front of her face. What was he expecting her to do? Did he want her to try and bite it as he was wiggling it right in front of her? She had a better plan. She nudged his shoulder with her own so he wouldn't expect her next move. "All right," she told him as she reached over and took one from his bag. She unwrapped it quickly and popped it into her mouth before he could stop her. "So when are you going to try one?" She teased him.

Oscar let out a sigh through his nose. Anna’s reasoning made sense, and he appreciated that she didn’t want him to get in trouble with anyone from Beauxbatons, but really, none of them mattered to him as much as she did. He had known most of them for his entire life – or at least since he was eleven – and none of them were as nice to him or made him smile as much as he did. Anna was easily one of his best friends, and they’d only known each other for two months. “From now on, do not fear. Tell them everything.” He ordered her. He sounded abrasive, and Oscar wasn’t sure he liked that, but he wanted Anna to know, on no uncertain terms, that she was allowed to say anything about him that she wanted to say. He would find a way to make it work.
“I do not think it will be bad, but better to be prepared.” Oscar said with a shrug. He made a scoffing noise when Anna stole one of the candies from his bag, shoving his shoulder against hers and rolling his eyes when she popped in into her mouth. “Hush.” He muttered mutinously at her, popping the candy he had been holding in his mouth and chewing it thoughtfully. “It is good.” Oscar announced after contemplating a moment. “So do I get one of yours now?” He teased. He didn’t actually expect Anna to part with any of her chocolate, but it was worth the shot.

He was definitely irritated and Anna felt guilty. She knew she shouldn't and that it was a silly thing, but she did. She nodded when he told her to not keep anything from the press. "Okay I will," she said quietly, not knowing how else she could possibly respond. Basically she would say anything to make him stop being so upset. She couldn't help but wonder why it mattered so much to him that she talk about him to the press, but she wasn't about to question him on it. She just wanted to drop the subject.
She laughed when he shoved her and told her to hush. She really couldn't have imagined a better reaction from him because he truly hadn't been expecting her to do anything like that. Really, it wouldn't be a surprise to people who knew her well, but they weren't to that point yet. She watched him closely, curious to see what he thought of the candy. She thought it was pretty good, but then again she wasn't an expert. "Of course," she said, pulling out two chocolate frogs and handing one to him, ¨Especially since I just stole one of yours from you," Anna teased right back at him.

Oscar could sense that they were both finished with the conversation about the press and the Daily Prophet, and he was more than willing to move on from that and into more lighthearted topics, like the candy the pair of them had been eating. “Steal is such a strong word.” Oscar said, eyes glinting playfully. “I was going to give you one anyways. You just took a different one than expected.” And that was okay – it had made their whole conversation a lot more interesting, though Oscar would have been happy to see Anna try to eat the candy between his fingers, considering he was planning on pulling it back at the last moment. He accepted her Chocolate Frog with a nod of thanks, unwrapping it deftly. He had let too many of the chocolate treats escape from him not to be quick about eating the frogs. Oscar wouldn’t want to go through the embarrassment of a frog escaping him while he was with Anna. He shoved the whole thing in his mouth quickly, before it could so much as realize it was free to hop around. When he was busy chewing, Oscar began to read the card that had come with the frog. It was Dzou Yen, some alchemist. Oscar swallowed. “Do you think you will get a card, for being a Triwizard Champion?” Oscar asked. He didn’t remember seeing one for any of the other past Champions, but Oscar didn’t eat Chocolate Frogs regularly enough to know.

Anna laughed when Oscar defended her actions. She shrugged one shoulder, pleased by how he responded. "Sometimes I can be unpredictable like that," she teased him with a wide smile. "Thanks for the candy though, it was really good. Great choice," Anna complimented him, though she wasn't sure if he would really accept it. He had a habit of not accepting her thanks so why would he accept this? She watched, grinning when he stuffed the whole chocolate frog into his mouth at once. She wasn't going to comment because she didn't want to make him feel self-conscious, but she enjoyed watching it. She opened hers and held it tightly in her hands so it wouldn't jump away. After a bit, it stopped moving and she broke off pieces as she ate it, enjoying every piece. She put the card in a pocket of her robes, deciding that she would look at it later. "Oh, I hope not," she answered instantly, before thinking. "I mean, it's not like I did anything to deserve being made Champion. Maybe if I win I might ..." she trailed off, not wanting to say anything else. She shook her head, looking away from Oscar, embarrassed.

Oscar chuckled when Anna said that she could be unpredictable. “An enigma.” He said, hearkening back to the conversation they had had before coming down to the village. Oscar was pleased that she approved of his candy choice, since it had been made so randomly. “Thank you.” He responded, event though it wasn’t actually that great of an accomplishment. Oscar watched as Anna ate her Chocolate Frog, a lot more daintily than Oscar had. He cocked his head at her when she said that she hoped she wouldn’t get a Chocolate Frog card for being made Champion. “The Goblet picked you.” Oscar pointed out. There were a lot of other people who could have been chosen, so Anna must have done something to deserve her position. Ozzy couldn’t believe that it was up to pure chance. He contemplated Anna saying that if she won she might get a Chocolate Frog card. “Do you think I ever could?” He asked. Oscar didn’t see a way he could become important enough to warrant a card of his own, but maybe Anna would have a better idea than he did.

Anna giggled when he called her an enigma. Then she paused, surprised by her reaction. Anna didn't giggle. Like, ever. She wasn't one of those girls that walked around in a group, giggling uncontrollably. She was more composed than that. Normally. She shrugged when Oscar said that the Goblet chose her. "I'm sure it was just random," she said, minimizing the choice. Really, she didn't feel special at the moment. Not with Lucy's words still ringing through her head every night. She was starting to wonder if some of them might be true, but she wasn't going to tell Oscar that. She hadn't told him about Lucy yet and she wasn't sure if she was ready to tell him about her sister, much less what his sister said to her the night she was chosen. She shuddered slightly at the memory and hoped Oscar wouldn't notice. Or that he'd think she was cold or something, even though it was a nice day out. Her attention focused entirely on him when he asked if she thought he could be put on a Chocolate Frog card. Anna smiled at him, "I think you can do anything you want to, including getting yourself on a Chocolate Frog card." She thought for a moment. "Who knows? You could become a great historian or something," she added, nudging his shoulder gently with her own. She hoped talking about this wouldn't make him sad somehow. She didn't know if she'd be able to handle that.

Anna said that the Goblet’s choice was random, and Oscar put his hands up in surrender. If that was what she wanted to believe, he would let her, even if he definitely disagreed with her philosophy. Maybe it was a way for her to take the pressure off of herself. “I do not think they have any historians on Chocolate Frog cards.” Oscar replied dubiously. He knew of alchemists and duelists and politicians, but never historians. Then again, he was self-professed not to have any knowledge of the candy, so he didn’t know why he was making judgements. It would be nice to try, anyways, and it was nice to know that Anna thought that highly of him. Sometimes he swore she liked him more than he liked himself, which was equal parts amazing and sad. “And even if I am not famous…” He trailed off. Oscar cared a lot about being recognized by others. It was part of who he was. But he wouldn’t mind so much not being famous if he met more people like Anna, who liked him for who he was, no fame needed. “I do not think it will be so bad.” He finished in a whisper, figuring the sentence he had begun deserved finishing. After a moment of silence, Oscar smiled. “Seamstress?” He asked. Now that they had gotten sufficiently distracted it made sense to move on to the actual purpose of their visit.

Anna smiled, "Well then you could be the first historian." It probably wouldn't happen, because people were ridiculous. They didn't know how to measure the true value of a person. The truth was, Oscar was amazing. The fact that he came to Hogwarts to try and become champion for the tournament after everything that happened to his family was evidence of that. Anna smiled at him when he mentioned what he would do if he wasn't famous. "It won't make a difference to me if you're famous or not," she told him honestly. "As long as we're still friends," Anna added with a shrug. She wasn't really worried about them not being friends. He mentioned the seamstress and Anna stood up and looked down the street curiously. "We can look, but I really don't know if there is a seamstress here."

Oscar smiled at Anna. Being the first historian on a Chocolate Frog card would be cool. He doubted that it would happen, but it was still a nice thought to have. When his friend said that it didn’t matter whether or not he was famous, Oscar snapped his neck to look at her. He didn’t think anyone had ever said something like that; it was always when you get famous, I will still love you. “It does not matter to me if you are famous or not, either.” Oscar agreed. He had thought a lot about what Anna’s relative fame meant to their relationship, and in the end, he had reached the same conclusion: that he would care for her no matter how famous or unknown she was. When Anna expressed her doubt about the seamstress, Oscar grinned at her. “So this was all excuse to come get candy with me?” He asked. There weren’t many shops left to check to look for the seamstress, since they had walked by quite a few to get to the candy store, and if Anna didn’t think there was a seamstress, there probably wasn’t. Which meant she must have had an ulterior motive for allowing him to go to Hogsmeade with her.

It was a relief, of sorts, when Oscar said that he didn't care if she was famous. She didn't think he cared about that. After all, they started to become friends before the champion announcement. It's just, they'd gotten a lot closer since then and it was comforting for him to tell her (in a roundabout way) that it wasn't because she was suddenly important. "I'm glad," she answered with a small smile. All Anna wanted was for him to care about her as a person and it seemed like she was getting that. Okay, maybe that wasn't strictly true. She wanted him to care about her as a person and as Anna. She just wanted Oscar to care about her and hoped that him asking her to the Yule Ball was some kind of indication that he had feelings for her. At the same time, she was trying not to get her hopes up.
She rolled her eyes and nudged his shoulder when he teased her, saying she'd used the seamstress as an excuse to get him to come eat candy with her. "I told you from the beginning that I didn't know if there was a seamstress here," she told him, a wide smile on her face, "but you still wanted to come with me." She shrugged at him and her smile grew mischievous. "So I guess the choice is up to you now. Do you want to stay with me and I can show you around ... or are you tired of me?" She figured he would decide to stay, but decided she should give him the choice.

Oscar smiled at Anna. He was glad that she was glad, as cheesy as it seemed. He was also glad that she was receptive to all of his shoulder bumping and eye rolling, and reciprocated with a shoulder nudge of her own. Oscar made a face when Anna said that she had told him all along she didn’t know about the seamstress. It was the truth, of course, but Anna needed to know he was displeased that she had remembered that tidbit. When Anna asked him if he wanted to see the rest of the village, Oscar raised his eyebrows. “I will never be tired of you, Anna.” He told her. Anna wasn’t like anyone else Oscar had ever met; she was so familiar and so strange at the same time. She was interesting in a way no one else ever had been. The fact that she was the champion didn’t hurt that intrigue, but it certainly wasn’t everything, either. “What else is there to show?” Oscar asked. And then, the more important question, “Is everywhere as crowded as the candy shop?” Oscar realized he probably should learn the name of the shop in question, but it was so much easier just to refer to it as the candy shop – everyone knew what he meant, anyway.

"Never?" Anna couldn't stop herself from teasing him. She liked him, she wanted him to like her back. Wasn't it natural to tease and play around with someone you were developing feelings for? Really Anna wouldn't know. She had minimal experience when it came to romance of all sorts. Anna shrugged when he asked what else there was. "There's the Three Broomsticks, but that place is normally pretty crowded ..." she thought for a moment, trying to come up with somewhere that wasn't normally too busy. "We could go to the Shrieking Shack," she suggested, wondering if he would be intrigued just by the name.

“Never ever ever.” Oscar promised. “But only if you promise you will never get tired of me.” The worst part of relationships wasn’t when they petered out over time, but when one person abruptly decided that they wanted nothing to do with the other anymore. That was just sad, and Oscar didn’t want that to happen to him and Anna. It didn’t seem like a danger right now, but relationships were tricky like that. Oscar listened intently when Anna said that they could go to the Three Broomsticks. He was about to open his mouth to agree with that idea when she said it was crowded. That wouldn’t do. “What is the Shrieking Shack?” Oscar asked. That sounded a little bit shady. If Anna thought it was safe, it probably was, but still, Oscar was apprehensive.
