Cyrus had gone out on a limb when he had asked Eleanor out to dinner with him a few days ago, after running into her for the first time in years. She could have said no. She could have had someone else in her life. But, for some reason she had said yes and Cyrus was on top of the world. He wasn't sure what the night held in store for them, but Cyrus had arranged for an evening on the back patio of the French restaurant, Boulestin. He had sent an owl to Eleanor at the Ministry, knowing it would find her in no time. He had kept the restaurant a secret to her, however. Though Boulestin was not that far away from either of their neighborhoods, so perhaps Eleanor would know where he planned to take them. After all, she had always been a very good guesser.
Cyrus stood across the street from the restaurant in a fairly casual looking suit. He had told Eleanor in the owl letter to dress formal, yet casual. Nothing too dressy, but nothing over the top. He awaited Eleanor patiently on the sidewalk, cars passing by as the sky turned a lovely mix of oranges and purples and pinks. The perfect autumn evening in London. He kept glancing all around him, awaiting the arrival of the brunette he had been in love with since he was thirteen years old.

Well, Eleanor had done it. She had ended things with Nate. And...he had not taken it well. He had flung a box at her when she told him it was over; there had been a diamond engagement ring in it. She had had no idea that Nate felt so seriously about her, when she didn't think she had ever given that impression. They'd been together for just over a year sure, but Eleanor had never really felt...happy with him. Not like with Cyrus, at least. She'd been able to mainly avoid him at work; Nate had resigned from the Tournament committee, claiming he couldn't work with Eleanor anymore. That'd stung, but in the end it was probably for the best. She'd be able to focus on her work and making herself happy. Of course, Nate had been in the room when Cyrus' owl had arrived, and he had said some pretty nasty things that had upset her. But tonight wasn't about that. Tonight, she got to share a meal with Cyrus. This time, she'd be ready to see him. Ready and single, though the second part really didn't matter right now. He'd said dress formal yet casual, so of course that meant a beautiful lacy wine colored dress with vintage earrings and zebra striped pumps. She had left her hair down and curly, the way he liked it. Pulling her pale gold wrap around, her, she made her way to where Cyrus had sait to meet him. As she turned the corner, she saw both Cyrus and the restaurant he had picked, and a smile spread across her face. It was perfect; perfectly them. She walked slowly up to him and stopped. "Cyrus," she said with a nod of her head, trying to conceal her smile. @cyrus OUTFIT

Cyrus had to admit, a tiny bit of him was actually nervous to be meeting Eleanor like this. Their accidental run-in had been a surprise, sure, but going out to dinner? Now, that was a bit nerve-wracking. Cy began to tap his foot on the ground a little anxiously as he awaited her, wondering if she would like his location choice, what she would be wearing... Then when he heard her voice say his name, he turned quickly to see her. He could not fight the immediate smile that came to his face. He tried to greet her in return, but just like she used to, she had rendered him speechless. Eleanor was as beautiful as ever.
Still grinning, Cyrus offered Eleanor his arm. "Allons-nous, mon cher?" He said happily. He wasn't exactly fluent in any language, but playing Quidditch all over kind of gave him a good grasp on some. Once they crossed the street, the host asked for their name. "Two for Ellsworth, s'il vous plaît," and then the host walked them through the quaint little restuarant and to the back patio. The patio was illuminated by outdoor garden lights all around them and each table had its own little umbrella over it. The host sat down the menus on the table and walked off. Cyrus then stood behind one of the chairs and pulled it out for Eleanor then smiled at her, inviting her to take a seat.

Eleanor smiled satisfactorily as Cyrus didn’t speak for a moment. It had taken her awhile to put together this ensemble, but it was well worth his reaction. She took his proffered arm and let him lead her into the restaurant. “Your French needs some work,” she couldn’t help but tease him a little. She knew he knew how much she loved Paris, and everything French really. She inwardly applauded his choice of restaurant, and then felt the clench of guilt at her heart. She had to come clean with Cyrus about Nate, even though it was over now. She didn’t want any cobwebs hanging in her closet for any longer than necessary.
Eleanor couldn’t help but draw a sharp intake of breath at the sight of the patio. It did look very beautiful, and romantic. She wondered if that was Cy’s intention; probably, she thought. She sat down in the seat Cy pulled out for her, waiting for him to take his seat before picking up her menu. “Do we want to start with some wine?” she asked him, peering at the bottle selection before she realized what she was doing. She gave a nervous chuckle; she didn’t know if he drank or not, since the last time they’d gone out to dinner they were barely eighteen. “Sorry, I can stick with water,” she said quickly, inwardly cursing herself a bit. Not the best way to start things out.

Cyrus scoffed out a little chuckle and raised a skeptical eyebrow at the brunette. "Oh, really?" He challenged her. It was sort of silly, really, to challenge someone who loved Paris as much as Eleanor did. But, oh, did Cyrus love to see her squirm. In only the best of ways, of course. "En savoir plus, chérie." Wait. Maybe he shouldn't call her 'darling.' He didn't know if she was involved with anyone... was that still okay to say if you were just friends?
Cy couldn't help but smile as he watched Eleanor pick up the menu to look it over. Growing up, he always thought she couldn't be more beautiful... yet here she was, sitting before him more beauitful than ever. When she asked him about wine, she seemed to quickly retract that idea and offered water instead. This made Cyrus's smile widen. "No, no," he shook his head, still smiling. "I would love some wine. The choice is yours." He gestured to her, hoping she would carry on with the selection.
@eleanor Translation: "Tell me more, darling."

Ella held his gaze at the challenge. “Yes really,” she issued right back. They had always playfully bantered back and forth with each other when they were dating; sometimes it might have seen a little aggressive to others, but to them it was fun. Plus, they’d always had fun making up later. Ella turned a faint shade of pink as he called her darling in French; he’d always called her that when they were together. She supposed she should think it wasn’t appropriate to say to her now but really she reveled in it. It did make her decision to break up with Nate that much clearer to her that it had been the way to go.
“We’ll have a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley,” she told the water, giving him a winning smile as he gave a bow and walked off to fetch the wine. Now that they were alone again, Ella knew she had to tell Cyrus the truth about her situation. “Cy, I need to talk to you about something, and I want you to not say anything until I’m done. Promise?” she asked him, twisting the napkin in her lap.

Cyrus could not help the smile that spread across his face when Eleanor still insisted his French needed some work. "Well, perhaps you'll just need to help me brush up on it, chéri," he suggested. That seemed like a harmful enough way to ease into asking her out on a second date. Under the guise of practicing French of course! She had always been better than him, anyway. Plus, it wasn't like he couldn't use the practice for his line of work!
The smile that Ella flashed the waiter as she ordered their wine was enough to widen Cyrus's own. Seeing her smile... well, he was certain he felt his heart rate speed up a few paces. "Good choice," he nodded once in approval as the waiter left to retrieve the wine. Cyrus already knew what he wanted so he didn't bother to open up the menu that was placed in front of him. He was going to settle on watching Eleanor decide what she wanted but when he looked at her again, she looked quite serious as she said she had something she wanted to tell him. He sat back in his chair, sitting up more straight as his brow furrowed slightly in what could only be worry. "Yes, of course, Ella. Promise." And he traced a little "x" over where his heart was.

Eleanor felt her heart flutter as he called her darling in French again. It made her nervous yet at the same time reassured her that ending the relationship with Nate had been the best thing for her. She took a deep breath when he promised not to interrupt her until she was done speaking. “So...I was dating someone, for about a year actually. And we were still dating when I ran into you by the Tower of London. His name’s Nate and he works in the Department of Magical Transportation, so we’ve been working on the Triwizard Tournament together,” she began. She was rambling, she knew Cyrus didn’t need all of this information. Why would he care what the guys name was or what department was he in? She felt though that in every story there needed to be basic information laid out though.
“After I saw you, I realized something. The reality of my world, the one I had tried to build with Nate, was an illusion. It wasn’t real because...you weren’t a part of it,” she said, her voice soft. She chewed on her lower lip. She had to be the strong one now; she wasn’t going to hide the fact that a world without Cyrus was not a real world at all for Eleanor. She needed him to be a part of it, in whatever way he wanted. “So I broke up with Nate last night, and then found out he was planning on proposing,” she said, looking down. She felt bad about it, she really did, but she couldn’t pretend she was in love in Nate any more. “My world isn’t complete without you in it Cy. And I know you don’t want to be in a relationship right now, but...I couldn’t keep silent anymore,” she finished, looking him square in the eye with a determined look in her eyes.

Cyrus was nervous, he had to admit. Though he hoped more than anything it didn't show on his face, he couldn't help but feel his brow twitch slightly when Eleanor took in a deep breath. Then, her words came pouring out. Cyrus wasn't sure what sort of news he had been expecting, and the news she was delivering was... news but it wasn't exactly surprising. Eleanor was a beautiful woman inside and out, and Cyrus would have been more shocked if she had stayed single for three years.
Cy continued to listen to Eleanor, not interruptin her like he promised he wouldn't. Then her next few weirds did shock him. She broke up with him. He was going to propose. And she did it all because... she couldn't live without Cyrus. Cyrus felt something akin to butterflies and nervous anxiety at the pit of his stomach. He felt... a little bad that some poor guy had just lost the woman he was going to propose to but, he felt over the top happy that she was saying everything he wanted to hear and more.
Cyrus was quiet for a moment as he met Eleanor's eyes with his own. Then he leaned forward and reached across the table to grab her hand with his. "Ellie," he said her name slowly but firmly. "I could never be a part of a world without you in it. You are my world." He held tightly on to her hand. "I never stopped loving you, Ellie. I don't think I ever could." Maybe it was cheesy and maybe it was an awkward time to admit it, but just as she couldn't stay silent, neither could he. And if they were both admitting things, why not!?

True to his word, Cyrus stayed silent as Eleanor ranted on, which she was grateful for. She watched, anxious to see how he’d respond. Then his hand was taking hers and he spoke. He spoke the words she’d been longing to hear him say the day he had walked away from her, no matter how much she had denied it. She knew her dad had known all along too; after breaking up with Nate, she had gone straight to him and told him everything. He had pretended to be surprised for her benefit, but Ella had noticed that he was trying not to smile. She supposed it was just his way of being supportive in going after what she wanted, and that she had his blessing. Standing up, Ella went over to Cyrus’ side, and took both hands in hers. “Cyrus Roderick Ellsworth, three words, eight letters. I love you. And I don’t want you to think I’m pressuring you into jumping right back in with me, but if you’ll have me, I promise to be yours and only yours from this day on,” she declared, her eyes bright with unshed tears. She knew how she wanted him to respond, she knew how she thought he would respond. But maybe he'd remember that he was a Quidditch player and didn't need a girlfriend right now. Eleanor felt a little vulnerable putting it all out there, but for Cyrus it was worth it. @cyrus ooc: DYING OF FEELS

Eleanor got up and moved to his side and in response, Cyrus stood up, holding her hands tightly. Her words were clear and each one sent a rush of adrenaline and happiness through his body. "Eleanor. Amelia. Percival," he gently pulled her closer as he slowly said her name. "I love you. And there's no pressure at all." He shook his head once and let a smile spread slowly across his face. "I want you. All of you. Forever, and always." He slowly let go of her hands then and slowly moved his hands up to cup either side of her face and slowly leaned in until his lips met hers.

Eleanor held her breath for a moment as Cyrus stood up, squeezing his hands as tightly as she listened to him speak. She let his hands drop as he lifted them to cup her face. She leaned forward as his face came closer. When their lips met again for the first time in almost five years, Ella felt the electricity, the fireworks, the passion; everything she had been missing came rushing back. She let her arms slip around his waist, pulling him closer. Had it been minutes, seconds or hours? Eleanor didn't know and she didn't care. They had to come up for air at some point though, and she could feel people staring at them. She felt the muscles in her face form a wide smile. "Shall we eat?" she suggested, then laughed. "I'm not really hungry anymore though, I...I feel like I'm floating on air," she admitted. @cyrus GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH <3

It felt like those near five years apart from her had led to this moment, right here. If he could, Cyrus would have taken this moment and just frozen it in time. It was like they had never lost that spark, that passion. If anything, there was more than they had ever had before. Cyrus was on Cloud Nine. He could not remember a moment in which he had felt this happy in... well, since they had parted. As he pulled away from Eleanor, his hands still cupped her face. He wasn't sure if he was going to be able to form words.
Eleanor spoke first and she asked about eating, but said she wasn't too hungry anymore. A grin spread widely across his face as an idea came to his mind. He let go of her and then reached into his pocket to pull out his wallet and threw money down on the table for the wine and a tip and then took her by the hand. "I've got an idea," he said as he began to lead her out of the restaurant.

Eleanor watched as Cyrus threw some money down on the table and grabbed her by the hand. “An idea?” she questioned, a smile widening on her lips as he led her out of the restaurant. They walked outside, and Eleanor couldn’t tell if it was warm or cold; her body felt a warm tingling feeling just from holding Cyrus’ hand. “Wait, wait!” she exclaimed, then pulled him by his jacket so his face came down to hers again. She let one hand rest against the back of his neck, allowing passion to overtake her for just a minute. Finally, she broke free and smiled. “Let's go,” she declared in a playful tone. Truth be told, Eleanor didn’t care where Cyrus was taking her; only that he planned on being by her side wherever they were going.

Cyrus knew they weren't far from one of his favorite spots in the city. Growing up in London had its perks, and knowing the most beautiful spots was one of them. Cyrus happily led the two of them out of the restraunt but stopped when he felt Eleanor pull on his jacket. Her hand on the back of his neck led his face to hers and into another moment fueled by the same passion they had when they were younger, if not more. Eleanor pulled away first, and when she did Cyrus looked down at her with the widest smile. Cyrus didn't care who was in her life before this moment, he knew that for the rest of his life... he wanted to be with her.
The Slytherin alum took hold again of Eleanor's hand and led them down the streets of London. It was only a few blocks, and with Ella by his side, it wasn't a huge trek to Cyrus at all. He felt as if he could do anything with her by his side. At last, they reached the destination Cyrus had had in mind. The Westminster Bridge. Still holding on to her hand, Cyrus led the two of them in a slow stroll out onto the bridge as the sun was setting in the sky around them. "I want to remember this moment," he said slowly as they walked out onto the bridge. "And what better place to do that than in my favorite spot, with my favorite girl." Cyrus's hand let go of Ella's then and wrapped around her waist, pulling her close to him as they walked along the bridge. It brought back memories of walking around the Hogwarts grounds with her in the same way.
