November. The Triwizard Tournament was approaching, and Dustin hadn't told Viovinnia yet, but he was going to attend the First Task to support Anna. He didn't know how, exactly, to tell her, especially since it was a foregone conclusion. Even if, for some reason, Vinnie didn't want him there, he was going to go anyways. He still felt like he owed her a warning, at least, so she didn't see him in the crowd and accidentally say something that she would regret. Dustin was waiting for her in an alley between two of the Hogsmeade shops - he didn't know which ones - hoping that whatever was going to come out of his mouth wouldn't be absurd and stupid and force Vi to break up with him. They had agreed to meet at noon, and as the time ticked closer and closer, Dustin had resigned himself to being yelled at by his girlfriend. Oh well.

Viovinnia had grown very accostumed to the weird fluttery feeling in her stomach that she got whenever she was on her way to meet Dustin in Hogsmeade. To be quite honest, she got that feeling whenever she thought about him, but she wouldn't admit that and barely even admitted that to herself. When they had made their plans to meet up during this particular visit to the village, Vi had been excited. Things at school were chaotic with the tournament, and she was ready to get away from it all. Hopefully Dustin would be able to provide some escape.
When Vi arrived in the village, she began to look around as she walked along. It wasn't long before she spotted him right where he said he'd be. A smirk appeared on her face as she quickly made her way over to him, joining him in the alley between the two stores. She met his lips with her own before stepping back and looking at him. "Dark, mysterious alleys suit you," she wiggled her eyebrows at him.

Dustin hadn’t worried about Viovinnia finding him; she knew her way around the village despite the fact that she hadn’t been going there since third year like most Hogwarts students. When she did find him, though, Dustin felt a rush of something that was a mixture of relief and excitement, a powerful sedative mixed with a rush of adrenaline. The first thing that she said was that dark alleys suited him, and Dustin laughed. The adrenaline was definitely winning the battle, that was for sure. “You mean other kinds of alleys don’t?” Dustin didn’t know when in his life he’d seen a well-lit alley, but it was the principle of the thing. “I heard a Gryffindor is the Hogwarts Champion.” Dustin said nonchalantly. It wasn’t just any Gryffindor, too – Dustin had been friends with Anna, when he was in school – and he could only imagine how the Slytherins felt about a Gryffindor Weasley winning the Champion position. “How many temper tantrums have you seen since?” Dustin raised his eyebrows at Vinnie, daring her to say anything against Anna without sounding childish.

As always, Dustin Bainbridge's equally as snarky comments always got a smirky roll of the eyes out of Viovinnia. If anyone else tried to pull off such comebacks like the ones Dustin did, well, their future ability to do so would be uncertain. Vi shrugged as she walked closer to Dustin until she was just inches away from him. "Nope," she quipped. "Just dark ones. Makes you seem much more mysterious." She loved teasing him.
Viovinnia shrugged somewhat dismissively at Dustin's question. "A few, I suppose," she sighed. "People are actually surprised it's a Weasley, though, whichni find quite funny." With as many as there were running around, Vi would have been more surprised if a Weasley hadn't got Hogwarts Champion. "I know the champion's sister was surprised. But even she would rather her sister win over a foreign school." Viovinnia droned on. "I, personally, don't care much for the tournament." She looked at Dustin with another shrug. Sure, her parents had wanted her to enter since Theodorus was ineligible but ever since Viovinnia has been getting closer and closer to Dustin, the less she has cared about what her parents want or think of her.

Dustin rolled his eyes when Vinnie said that he only looked good in dark alleys, because of the mystery factor. He was going to have to find one of those mythical well-lit alleys so that he could prove her wrong – he looked good in all kinds of alleys, damnit!
Dustin nodded when Vi said that she had seen temper tantrums since Anna’s selection as Champion. He hadn’t expected any less. He shook his head, slightly incredulous, when Vinnie said that there were people who were surprised it was a Weasley. Of course it was going to be a Weasley – they won on numbers alone, it seemed. Dustin stopped paying attention when Vi talked about Anna’s sister, but perked up again when she said she wasn’t interested in the tournament. “What about the Yule Ball?” Dustin asked. He couldn’t help but be curious – he couldn’t imagine Vi would ever invited him to go to the Ball with her, given her whole reputation thing, but if she went with someone else…A flare of jealousy shot up Dustin’s spine, and he stepped closer to Viovinnia, who had also been closing the gap between them. Being so close to her, Dustin calmed down slightly. He couldn’t imagine that Vinnie let many people this far into her personal space, and he also couldn’t imagine that she would let just anyone bend down to kiss her like he was doing now.

Vi's eyebrows rose a little when she noticed Dustin's immediate attention shift as he then asked about the Yule Ball. She smirked at him in response. She rather liked how quick he was to ask, even if she had never once considered even going to the ball. The Slytherin shrugged at him nonchalantly before his lips found hers. Viovinnia returned the kiss excitedly, fighting back a smile as she as she did so. After a moment, she pulled away to finally answer his question. "I've never been a fan of dances or parties," she said simply. "Besides, no one at that school is worth my time anyway." She shrugged once more and looked pointedly at Dustin. No one was worth her time, except maybe him.

Dustin’s question was greeted first with a smirk, and he didn’t know how to read that. His nerves were beginning to get to him, Dustin realized, even though he had no real reason to be nervous. Even if Vi went with someone else, she was still his. It was just that nobody could know that part. “A pretty girl like you doesn’t like an excuse to dress up and become even prettier?” Dustin asked, his fallback mechanism of sarcasm thankfully stronger than his fear (for now). He had to admit that he was relieved, though, to know that she wasn’t considering going to the Ball, and even better, that no one at Hogwarts had caught her eye. “Well, if you don’t have any plans…” Dustin said, trailing off. “Run away with me, Viovinnia Nott.”

Viovinnia let out a sound like a chuckling scoff and she shook her head. "I've been to enough parties and balls to last me a lifetime," she said, waving her hand dismissively. "So, this one which is completely optional to me, holds no significance to this 'pretty girl.'" She said in a teasing tone. "So, since I'm opting out, the adminstration will probably force me to go home for the holidays." She rolled her eyes, boringly. Vi looked back at the boy in front of her as he spoke again, trailing off and really getting her attention. She raised an eyebrow at him and then he said it. Both her eyebrows rose then, in slight surprise at his words. Run away. It took Viovinnia a moment until she finally responded, but she was able to regain her cool. "And where exactly would we run away to, Dustin Bainbridge?" She really didn't even need to ask. Vi already knew her answer was 'yes.'

Dustin chuckled when Vi said she had been to more than enough parties and balls. “I don’t think any of my sisters would ever profess to the same thing.” Certainly they each had their own opinions, but they didn’t get to go to balls as often as pureblood girls, Dustin assumed. Viovinnia asked where they were going, and Dustin winked at her. “That, my dear Nott, is a secret.” Dustin said with a mischievous grin. He knew where they were going, of course, but why would he spoil the surprise when he could just as easily lord it over Vinnie? She already had a lot to hold over him, so it would be nice if the tables were turned. “But I can promise it will just be the two of us, very much alone, for two weeks over Christmas.” Since Vinnie didn’t seem bothered by missing the Yule Ball, Dustin only assumed that she wouldn’t care much about missing spending Christmas with her family, either.

Viovinnia shrugged when Dustin spoke of his sisters. Everyone was different. And Dustin didn't seem like he came from a family at all like hers. In fact, she was sure his parents had not raised their children to be wary of bloodlines like Vi's parents had she and Theodorus. "Well, I'd gladly let them take my place at any of them," she said a little bored of the subject. Balls were just... not her thing. As a young girl, maybe they were a little more exciting. But when she had finally learned how to fight, she became less and less interested. An eyebrow raised interestedly when Dustin said the location of their runaway destination was a secret. "I don't know how I feel about secrets, darling Bainbridge," Vi mirrored the mischievous grin Dustin wore. She could deal with a secret for now. Vi took a tiny little step closer to Dustin, their bodies nearly touching. "That sounds like something I can get on board with." She smirked at the thought of being abosolutely alone with Dustin for two weeks. She never thought she would be excited for such a thing.

Dustin laughed when Vinnie said that his sisters could take her place at any of her social events. “Be careful or I might think you’re serious.” His sisters would have no idea what to do at any pureblood event, that was for sure. The Bainbridge family had a concept of manners, of course, but nothing like the stiff-collar, stiff-lipped spiel that was required at higher-class events. Vi said that she didn’t know how she felt about secrets, and Dustin just grinned at her. “What, don’t you trust me, Vinnie?” He asked, batting his eyelashes. Dustin wasn’t sure he wanted to know the answer to that question, but at the same time, he almost wanted his girlfriend to answer it. He certainly trusted her, but was that trust reciprocal? Dustin’s thoughts flew out of his head when Vi stepped closer to him, and he couldn’t help but match Vi’s step forward, closing any space that had existed between them. “Is it really?” He whispered, his lips close to her ear. Dustin clenched down on the urge he had to kiss Vi’s neck, trying to remind himself that no matter how dark the alley was, they were still in public.

Vi just smirked to herself. She figured she would save Dustin's sisters the boredom and not extend the offer seriously. Why anyone would ever find formal pureblooded functions interesting was beyond her. She had never been a huge fan, but of course she went to please her parents. Vi narrowed her eyes at the Quidditch player when he batted his eyelashes. "Hm," she mused for a moment. "I suppose I do." The Nott met his eyes before slowly revealing a smirk. "How fortunate for you," she teased him. Viovinnia's smirk remained on her face when Dustin also moved in closer to her. Though when he whispered close to her ear, her smirk disappeared and she bit her lip slightly to stop herself from letting out a hitched breath. She felt an impulse then, and instead of dwelling on it, the Slytherin acted upon it. She turned her head slightly and met Dustin's lips with her own.

Dustin chuckled under his breath when Vi said it was lucky for him that she trusted him. It probably was, all things considered. Purebloods could be dangerous, and Slytherins could be dangerous, but pureblood Slytherins definitely took the cake in the danger-o-meter, especially if they didn’t trust you. It was definitely better to have a kiss on the lips than a knife in the back, though with Slytherins, it was probably possible to have both. Dustin was forced to stop musing on the probability of Viovinnia knifing him, though, when she pressed her lips against his. If oxygen hadn’t been an issue, Dustin gladly could have spent the rest of the day in that alley, kissing Vi. He was attracted to her personality, definitely, but there was no denying that he was attracted to her physically, too. When he finally managed to pull himself away, though, Dustin attempted to smirk at Vi. “Careful, love, or you might tire of mu kisses.” He certainly hoped not, but they had two weeks to test if she ever would.

Viovinnia had never been so drawn to someone like she felt drawn to Dustin. Sure, he was physically attractive and that was definitely a plus, but Vi had never met someone who could match wits with her and that had been the very first thing she had noticed about Dustin Bainbridge. No one had ever been able to get on the same level she was as far as banter and conversation, and he wasn't intimidated by her (unless she wanted him to be.) She was finding herself growing more and more fond of Dustin Bainbridge, especially as their lips locked together in the alley way. Dustin was the one to pull away from the kiss, as Vi almost couldn't find it in herself to. She bit her lip through a smirk when she saw his. Vi glanced from his eyes to his lips and back again. "If that were even possible," she said, her hand trailing up his shirt to his shoulder in a teasing way.

Dustin was surprised by how much Viovinnia was giving him. This felt different from what they normally did. Yes, they were boyfriend and girlfriend, but this felt like a different kind of commitment, one that was uncomfortable to Dustin. Uncomfortable, but in a good way, if that was possible. “First you say you trust me, and now that you’re never going to get sick of me?” Dustin said, raising his eyebrows. Technically she had said she wouldn’t ever get sick of his kisses, and those were two different things, but Dustin was going to allow himself to confuse those two things. “I almost worry you’re getting attached to me.” The Gryffindor’s voice sound strange, even to his own ears, when he said that. He couldn’t pin any one emotion down in that moment, so Dustin decided to do the easiest thing, and elect to ignore all of his emotions in favor of kissing Vi again.
