Imogen had come to the hospital in hopes of surprising Ophelia with a visit, but it appeared she had chosen the exact wrong time to come - it was her best friend's day off. That was the problem with surprises, Imogen thought with a sigh as she began to descend to the bottom level of the hospital: you could never tell if they were going to go wrong. Of course she was upset, but Imogen was surprised to find just how upsetting it was. She had gone from seeing Ophie every day to arguing with her by owl and now everything seemed...well, wrong. They were going to get to see each other at Hogsmeade, of course, but that was different. Imogen didn't realize until she passed by a window in the stairwell (and subsequently saw her reflection) that her hair was a deep cobalt blue. It matched how she felt, Imogen thought with a dejected sigh. She knew that she ought to get back to Hogwarts, but for just a moment, Imogen wanted to let herself feel sad.

Imogen hadn’t noticed that there was anyone else around her, but that lack of perception was quickly shattered when she heard someone speak. Imogen turned when she heard a voice, and offered a weak smile. “I didn’t think they made blue Skittles.” She said quietly. Imogen had grown up with a Muggle mother, and had had her fair share of experiences in the Muggle world, not the least of which was Skittles. But she didn’t remember there being any blue ones. Imogen was going to let the conversation rest there, but she figured that since the man was being nice so far, she ought to try to be nice right back. She gestured to his finger, which looked to be hurt fairly badly. “How did that happen?” Imogen asked. There was always a story behind injuries like that, and maybe that would kill the time between now and when the man got to be seen by the healers.

“What color would that be?” Imogen challenged when the stranger said to color him surprised. When Imogen was shocked, her hair often reverted back to its normal brunette color, but she was curious to see what he thought of as a surprising color. As for the question about the Skittles… “My family went on a vacation to America once.” Imogen said with a smile. “My little brother was interested in learning all about Muggle candies. For the educational factor, of course.” No, Phillip had just wanted to eat as much candy as he could fit into his face, but that could probably be inferred from the way Imogen spoke about the incident.
The stranger said that he had a few pets, and Imogen had to resist the urge to step back. Hopefully none of those pets were dogs. Imogen smiled a little at the comment about his siblings being some of the creatures he grew up with. “I’m sure they appreciate your calling them that.” Imogen replied, trying to point out that perhaps that wasn’t the kindest thing to say without admonishing the stranger too badly. “A…demiguise?” Imogen repeated. She had never heard of such a thing, but there was a shimmer on the chair where the stranger pointed, so she assumed he was telling her the truth.
