Oh, Quidditch. Before Irina it was Dan's only muse, his mistress, his true love. Now, Quidditch was feeling a little left out and he felt terrible about that. So he made his way out to the pitch and lifted into the air. He found himself laughing, spinning around the hoops. He had practiced with Irina the other day and that was amazing, but for a moment he needed to just spin around like a kid remember where his root were. He didn't even notice the other guy showing up.

Dastan needed a break from everything. A break from studies, a break from hearing people talk about the tournament and how they thought it was going to go. He even needed a break from the castle, even though he loved trying to figure it out. The good thing was, Hogwarts had a Quidditch pitch that was almost always open. Dastan wasn't the best flier (he tended to focus more on his studies than flying), but he enjoyed it, so he decided to take a break with it.
When he got to the pitch, he was relieved to see that only one other person was there. That would make things much easier. He jumped onto the broom and grinned as he flew into the sky. This was definitely the best way to leave one's worries behind! He wasn't sure what to do about the other guy there, however. Should he greet him, or just let him continue his fun? Dastan decided to take a teasing approach and just hope for the best. "Looks like you're having fun," he called with a smile.

Dan felt the guy before he saw him, but it didn't seem like hostile emotions so Dan just kept playing it cool, waiting for the other guy to do something first. He knew he was flying toward him, because his emotions got stronger. He seemed kind, which caused Dan to turn to him and smile. "I am. Care to join me?" he offered, raising an eyebrow. "A friend showed me where to get the balls, if you fancy a one on one?" he suggested. He was glad to have a partner up there, actually. Especially one he didn't know. It would challenge him, prepare him better.

Dastan was pleased when the other player turned to face him with a smile. At least he could probably have fun and make a new friend at the same time. "I never turn down the opportunity to fly," Dastan responded easily, his grin widening when the boy in front of him mentioned them playing one on one. "That sounds like a lot of fun. I accept." Really, it was an easy decision. He loved Quidditch; obviously this boy did too. They might as well enjoy it together and have some fun. "Where are the balls?" Dastan asked. He didn't know, so if he could learn from this boy, then maybe he could use them in the future when he needed to relax again. Besides, the boy wasn't from Hogwarts and he knew where the balls were, so obviously it wasn't against the rules.

Dan nodded as the other boy said that he never turned down a chance to fly. Dan felt the same way. Then, he accepted officially and Dan grinned. "Perfect. I'm Daniel, by the way. From Durmstrang, obviously," he introduced, flying a little closer and giving the boy a nod, but he did not offer a handshake. He never did. Then he asked where the balls were and Dan nodded form him to follow, "this way," he flew off toward the broom closest and opened it, getting the box out and opening it carefully. "Should we do some Keeper-Chaser game or something more on the beaters side?" he asked, turning toward his flying partner.

"Dastan, Beauxbatons," Dastan responded naturally, smiling as he nodded back to Daniel. If they were on the ground he would probably offer his hand to shake, but in the air that was always a risky move, especially meeting someone new. Some people liked to mess around and pull tricks. He'd known people at home that would try to pull you off your broom if they got a chance, even if you were complete strangers. He sped up, hurrying to follow the Durmstrang boy to the closet. Dastan shrugged at the question. "I prefer keeper-chaser, personally, but if you'd rather do something with the bludgers I'm always up for a challenge." He grinned, wondering how the boy would react to that. Most people would be annoyed at such a vague answer, but Dastan really didn't care what they did right now. He just wanted to be the air playing something to do with Quidditch. "Do you have a preference?" He added, wondering if that was assumed or not and deciding to make it obvious. Dastan reached forward and touched the Bludger, laughing when it tried to fight the restraint for it's freedom. It felt like it had been ages since he'd been able to play.

Daniel nodded as the guy introduced himself, giving his soft smile still. He was happy to be making his first friend from Beauxbatons! Especially if they liked Quidditch. He said he preferred Chaser-Keeper and Dan nodded, "no, no, that's perfect for me." Then Dastan asked what he wanted to play and Dan pointed at the hoops, "i play Keeper. Is that cool? When we get bored we could switch," he offered. He chuckled as Dastan touched the bludger, "yeah, those guys are pretty intense, as I'm sure you well know!" he was grinning now. Quidditch always did that to him.
"Come on," he beckoned, heading toward the hoops and tossing the quaffle to Dastan. Even seeing this kid fly for just a few moments was already enough to show Dan that the guy knew what he was doing. Good, he looked up to a challenge!

Dastan nodded when Daniel said that he played Keeper, but that they could switch. That worked just fine for him! Personally, Dastan had a hard time choosing between Keeper and Chaser, so at least he didn't have to make that decision. "Sounds good," he said after a second, adding with a wry smile, "Oh believe me, I know." Bludgers were the one thing that Dastan didn't particularly enjoy about Quidditch, mostly because he wasn't good at being a beater. He made a decent seeker, keeper and chaser, but he wasn't a good beater at all, which was a sore spot for him. He followed Daniel back to the pitch, mounting his broom and catching the Quaffle easily as he sped to the middle of the field. He was excited to be playing with someone, especially someone who obviously knew what he was doing. He smiled in anticipation, then started to play, fairly attacking the hoops constantly in an effort to get the Quaffle past Daniel and through a hoop. He didn't worry about his aim. Dastan knew that if the Quaffle passed the keeper, it would make it through the hoops. That's what practice did. The trick was getting it past the keeper. He tried feinting one way, sharp turns, false starts, throwing most everything he knew at the boy in front of him. This is why most people didn't agree to play with Dastan. He had a tendency to get very competitive. For every shot that was blocked, Dastan was searching for ways to succeed. He had to admit that the Durmstrang boy was good. Better than most. @daniel (left it kind of vague ... don't know how successful you want Dan to be vs. Dastan.)

Dan was expecting a challenge, but this guy was no joke. He knew exactly what he was doing. He made a few goals and Dan blocked a few, but after some time Dan was running out of breath. How long had they been at this? It didn't matter, Dan was having so much fun playing against someone so talented. Eventually, though, Dan caught the ball and sped toward Dastan, his eyes wide. He whistled low in approval, "Dastan, wow. You are very good," he complimented with an encouraging nod. "I hope you're planning on doing the fall tryout coming up. Will you be there?" he said with an eyebrow raised.
@dastan (hmmm, i think they are both be pretty good XD to the point that they get exhausted way fast and are like woooah you awesome bro.)

This was fun. Dastan couldn't remember a time when he last played against someone who was so well-matched against himself and he was really enjoying himself. Daniel blocked some of his harder attempts, making Dastan get more creative with his maneuvers and he appreciated the challenge.
After a while the Durmstrang boy flew forward, Quaffle in hand. Dastan was breathing heavily, energized by the workout but starting to feel a little tired as well. Not that he needed to stop. He could keep going, but it looked like Daniel wanted to talk or something. He smiled and nodded his head in appreciation. "Thanks. You are really talented also," he said sincerely. "I cannot remember the last time it was so hard and so fun playing with one person." He wasn't trying to lay it on thick or anything, but Dastan really meant it. His eyebrows creased at the mention of a fall tryout. "Tryout for what? I am not from Hogwarts ... and neither are you," he hated not knowing something, but he was utterly confused. They could not try out for the Hogwarts teams, so what was this boy talking about?

"Agreed. If we played for the same professional team then we would certainly be a force to be reckoned with, " Dan said with a little chuckle. Then Dastan said that he didn't know what the tryouts were and Dan tilted his head to the side. "Some professional teams are coming to do a little bit of trial run for the kids here. All the schools are invited, but maybe it hasn't gotten back to Beauxbatons yet," Dan said, "it's in about three weeks. I'll let you know when I know more, of course," Dan said with a friendly smile. "Another round or should we call it?" Dan asked, gesturing toward the hoops with an eyebrow raised.

Dastan nodded, “I think you are right about that.” Honestly though, Daniel was good at the game and Dastan wouldn’t mind playing with him more frequently, even if it wasn’t on a professional team together. He would have to see if he could convince the Durmstrang to play more with him in the future. After all, he had to practice, didn’t he? Then Daniel started talking about the tryouts and Dastan listened carefully. “I definitely want to do something with that,” he agreed. “Thank you for telling me about it.” Dastan thought for a second when Daniel asked if he wanted to continue or not. “Let’s have one more go. I want to see how I do against you when I’m already tired. You know, work on my stamina a little.” Really, Dastan just didn’t want to land. He loved flying and wasn’t ready to be done already.

Dan was glad for this guy, his emotions were simple and not aggressive, at least not right now as they talked. On the pitch, Dastans emotions were exactly what he needed to play off to do well himself. The competitive nature, the determination. Dan could feel that and it made him play better as well. "Yeah, of course. I'll be glad to see you there," he said, in reference to the professional tryouts. Then Dastan suggested they do one more go to test stamina and Dan nodded, "great idea. How about some beating exercises? Or we can keep doing Chaser-Keeper."

"You as well," Dastan agreed. It would be nice to play with others who were so dedicated to the game. Dastan wasn't really sure if he was interested in joining a team from England, but it would be a good experience to play with members from real professional Quidditch teams. Besides, any chance to play with Daniel again would be a good one. "Let's try beating?" Dastan suggested, pulling his wand out of his robes, and summoning the clubs from the ground. "Do you want to try it with one Bludger or two?" Dastan asked, waiting for Daniel's response before flicking his wand and releasing them. He didn't want to overwhelm his opponent. Especially such a good one.

Dastan agreed to doing some beating stuff and Dan nodded, catching the club when they came flying toward them. "Let's start with one," Dan said, "these ones should be set up to know we're practicing, So they'll try to surprise us by circling around and stuff," he said, at least that's what Ri had told him. So, soon they each had a bat and one bludger in the air, prepared to take on the bludger and each other. The bludger spun toward Daniel first and he smacked it hard toward Dastan, giving him the chance to give it a good whack as well. He didn't want either of them getting hurt, but a little practice aiming toward one another, the goals, and hitting bludgers in hard situations was good.
