Initially reluctant to the idea of cheering for the very same twin sister whose success she had abhorred just two weeks before, Lucy Weasley was swayed quite quickly by Anna's performance in the First Task. She could hardly claim that her cheering had been just for show, since she had nearly made herself hoarse from yelling. (Not to mention, of course, the amount of times that Lucy had rolled her eyes at the two young men who were supposed to be her sister's competition. Neither of them had seemed the slightest bit sportsmanlike from the start, in her opinion, and she didn't think that the Greyback boy could have managed to find his way out of a paper bag.) It was impossible to deny that Anna had done well, though Lucy wasn't about to take back any of what she'd said about her twin beforehand.
Anna had made it past obstacles that would have gotten the better of wizards twice their age; Lucy had seen it with her own eyes. Molly Annelise Weasley, who was supposed to be a miserable failure, had come in a very close second to Émile Chevalier of Beauxbatons. Lucy couldn't bring herself to admit that what she was feeling was pride, but—shockingly—her jealousy was nowhere to be found as she watched the Champions' reactions to how they had placed.
Before anyone else from Hogwarts's student body could have the satisfaction of saying that they had been the first to congratulate their Champion, Lucy practically leapt from her place in the stands. She lost count of the number of toes on which she had stepped to reach her sister, but she didn't care.
As soon as her feet reached the grass, she broke into a run. Practically deafened by the roar from what was now far above her, Lucy hadn't lost her sight, and she assumed that Anna had fully regained hers. There was plenty of activity around all three of the Champions, though Lucy's focus was locked on the one who, from behind, would have looked barely different from herself.
Lucy said nothing, her grin speaking for her. She slowed herself down to avoid knocking Anna over, although she had almost launched herself at her sister to hug her.

Anna could hardly believe she made it out of the maze. Well really, she could. It felt like she'd been in there for years, though she was sure it was only a couple of hours. She was sore and tired and positive that she looked terrible. Now that she was out of the maze and the adrenaline was wearing off, it didn't take too long for her arms and legs to start hurting. All it took was a cursory glance down at her pants and her jacket to see holes where the acromantula's pincers had pierced through her clothing and her skin. It looked like she stopped bleeding, which was a good thing. Still, she was sure that she appeared quite frightful to everyone in the stands. The amazing thing was, they didn't seem to care. The cheers for all the champions were loud and raucous and Anna couldn't help but smile.
She was looking all around herself, searching for a familiar face- really any familiar face when she froze. Her sister Lucy was running toward her, a wide grin on her face. Was this some kind of prank? Or did she just want her share of media attention. However, at the same time Anna couldn't remember a time when she'd seen her sister look so ... happy? Proud? Anna had no idea what to label it as, but Lucy didn't slow down in her approach and the next thing she knew, Anna found herself in the middle of a gigantic hug. Anna couldn't help but smile as she hugged her sister back. She wasn't naive enough to think that this would really change anything- one moment of family pride was hardly about to undo a lifetime of disagreement- but she hoped that she'd be able to have a nice moment with her sister.
Anna bit her lip nervously when their hug ended. "So ... how did I do compared to the others?" she asked, having no idea what else she could talk about. Besides, Anna really was interested. She had no idea if she looked like an idiot compared to the two boys or if she held her own and she knew that Lucy had no problem telling her that she was terrible. Obviously Anna was going to ask others about it too, but she was curious to see what her twin would say.

Anna hadn't pulled away from their hug, although Lucy wouldn't have blamed her if she had. To anyone who didn't know how rocky their relationship could be, the moment must have seemed incredibly sweet. In fact, however, it was quite abnormal; Lucy wasn't even looking to see if there were cameras pointed her way. If they were, then that was all the better, but she didn't have to force a smile this time.
“So…” Lucy waited when she heard the first word that came from her sister's mouth. Her hands now dropped at her side, she rocked back onto her heels. “How did I do compared to the others?”
She had come in second, hadn't she? Since none of the three of them had had to face the same hurdles, it was difficult for Lucy to provide any clear picture, but she knew what Anna wanted to hear. “Well,” she started, not about to go too easy on her twin, “you could have done better.” Lucy shrugged her shoulders, knowing that she was a harsh critic.
The tone that Lucy used as she continued to speak was one that she typically withheld for all but her Slytherin cronies. “Greyback's got two left paws, though, and Chevalier's ego should have eaten him before he ever reached the Manticore.” Her sister was the only one of the Champions who seemed to have common sense, and Lucy was thankful for that. “You just looked like an idiot until you got your sight back. Those boys? They're both gits, sight or not.”

Anna wasn't surprised by Lucy's response. Not really. Sure, she was taken aback by the support her sister gave through her hug, but it almost seemed like too much to ask to think that Lucy would be supportive verbally as well. Then again, as her sister continued to speak, Anna felt an undercurrent of support, though there was nothing in Lucy's voice to suggest it.
She shrugged, "Well I'm just going to assume that you tentatively like me better than those two then. Did you cheer for anyone today or were you just watching silently?" Why was Anna asking this? She already knew there was no way that Lucy would tell her something she wanted to hear. "What did you think when I disappeared when I was blind?" Anna asked curiously, trying to ignore the fear when she remembered how that felt, to be blind and not know what was coming at her. Once again, she didn't know why she was asking Lucy, but they were talking, so she might as well.

“Well,” Anna inferred, “I'm just going to assume that you tentatively like me better than those two, then.” It was a lucky guess, thought Lucy, even though she had been more complimentary of her sister in the past few minutes that she had been conversing with her than she had been in the past two months combined. “Did you cheer for anyone today or were you just watching silently?”
“Well, I didn’t have a Silencing Charm put on me,” Lucy shrugged back at her. It wasn’t a clear-cut yes or no answer, but, if Anna had inferred what she had already inferred, Lucy didn’t think that it would be too challenging for her to put two and two together to figure out that her sister had been cheering her on, despite every previous indication to the contrary. She wasn’t sure if anyone had been completely silent, unless they had been anticipating every last move that the Champions would make.
“What did you think when I disappeared when I was blind?”
“I hadn’t noticed,” Lucy lied coolly. Of course she had noticed her sister’s sudden invisibility! Anna hadn’t Apparated her way out of the maze, so she had to have done something to render herself invisible to both her competition and the onlookers.

Why was everything with Licy so difficult? Anna really just wanted Lucy to open up to her, but she didn't think that would ever happen. She had a tendency to get jealous when she wake siblings with good relationships, but there really wasn't anything that she could do about it. Except expect it. The more Anna expected her sister to be indifferent to her, the less it hurt. Mostly. An eyebrow rose when Lucy said no one needed to put a silencing charm on her. Anna suspected that was her sister saying she hadn't been screaming, but that she had been cheering. And if Anna's previous suspicion was correct, Lucy was cheering for her. Anna nodded, dropping the subject since Lucy didn't seem to want to talk about it. Honestly, why did Lucy come over here since she didn't want to talk?
When Lucy said she didn't notice Anna disappearing, Anna accidentally let out a laugh. Oh well, at least the press would think that meant they were having a conversation like most sisters did, one where they got along. "Fine. You don't have to tell me,"she teased, half expecting it to set Lucy off. Then again, they were in public. Lucy would probably keep control of herself. Anna would just have to ask Madam Macmillan or Oscar or someone else. Someone was bound to tell her everyone'a reactions even if Lucy wouldn't.
