Anna was looking for Oscar, which in and of itself was not a new thing at all. Now that the two were officially dating, it was more likely to find them together than not, provided she wasn't in classes. The only tricky part was finding him when she did get out of classes. Sure, they often found one another on the third floor, but it wasn't like he could just hang out on the third floor all day every day until they happened to run into one another. Anna wouldn't expect him to do that either. However, at the moment she was starving, so she had every intention of going down to the kitchens to eat something, but she didn't really want to go on her own. Why should she? Now that she had a boyfriend, she could always bring him along when she didn't want to do something on her own. Besides, it had been a while since they last went to the kitchens together and Anna wanted to go back with him. She grinned when she thought she saw the back of his head a short distance away. "Hey Oscar!" she called, ready to wave as soon as he turned around and looked at her.

It was a good day, Oscar thought. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and he was dating Anna Weasley. Every day was a good day because of the last thing just on its own, but the shining sun and blue sky made it even better. Oscar was thinking about Anna, as usual, and, like magic, her voice appeared behind him, saying hello. “Bonjour, Anna!” Oscar answered enthusiastically, not exactly why he had responded in French instead of English, but not particularly caring, either. “What can I do for you today?” He asked teasingly. Anna was always ready to drag him into some crazy adventure, not that he was complaining. Oscar loved the adventures that Anna took him on, mostly because he loved Anna, so everything she did he loved as an extension.

Anna grinned, grabbing Oscar's hand casually when he said hello to her in French. That was what Bonjour meant, right? She was pretty sure she knew that one, though she really didn't know much French at all. "I like it when you talk in French," Anna stated. Even though she didn't understand it, the language was pretty and she liked the way it sounded coming from him. She grinned at his question and shrugged. He knew her so well. "Want to go to the kitchens with me?" She asked, positive that he would say yes. He knew how much she liked food and he liked it as well. So why wouldn't he want to? "I'm really hungry and didn't really want to go on my own." She didn't really need to explain herself, but Anna did anyway and waited for his response. As soon as he said the word, she was ready to pull him down to the dungeons for some food.

Ozzy smiled when Anna said that she liked it when he spoke in French. “I like it when I talk in French, too.” He said, bumping his shoulder against hers teasingly. Anna asked if he wanted to go to the kitchens with her, and Oscar nodded enthusiastically. He wasn’t famished, but he didn’t mind going anywhere for Anna, and a snack probably wouldn’t be bad for him, either. He knew how to get to the kitchens thanks to Anna’s extensive tour, so Oscar had no problem pulling them through the crowds and down several staircases. He shivered as they got lower and lower. “Was the basement always this cold?” he asked, regretting that he hadn’t thought to bring a cloak with him. Stone castles tended to get drafty, but Oscar hadn’t been thinking about that when he dressed – he had just thought that since they were going to be inside, everything would be fine. That was a mistake, Oscar thought with a shiver.

Anna winked at Oscar, "Especially since you don't get to do it as much here at Hogwarts, huh?" Suddenly Anna was wondering what it would be like to leave home and go to a strange school where you had to speak a different language. Probably very stressful. As Oscar led her through the corridors, that was what she was focused on. Eventually she asked, "Are you still going to try and teach me French sometime?" Anna wasn't trying to push, she simply wondered if he remembered that conversation. Oscar pulled her out of her thoughts when Oscar asked if it was always this cold. Anna looked at him with a curious smile. He sure did look cold, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for her. She shrugged a little, not sure what to say. "It's not too cold to me," she started, "but I'm sure we can come up with something to warm you up," Anna trailed off as she tried to think of something that would help. Her hand tightened around his and she moved closer to him automatically, even though she didn't know if that would actually make a difference. Then an idea popped into her head. "What if we get some food and then I can take you somewhere really warm?" Anna made her suggestion a question, looking over at Oscar and giving him a mischievous smile. Surely he would be a little curious, right?

Oscar nodded when Anna asked if he liked to speak French especially well since it wasn’t his primary language at Hogwarts. “Even in the carriage, I mostly speak English.” He admitted. “It keeps us from getting confused, and always having to switch languages.” It was easier for all of them if they could just flip the switch in their brains to English and keep it there. Besides, it was nice to speak English with other people who weren’t native English speakers, because Oscar didn’t feel like he was being judged for his mistakes. Of course, Anna didn’t judge him either, but it was different.
“I can.” Oscar said when Anna asked if he was still going to try to teach her French. “Can we take the food with us to this warm place?” Oscar suggested, not sure how much longer he could survive the cold. He didn’t know why he was so cold, though. Maybe he was coming down with something. Having Anna closer to him did help a little, but Oscar still wished to exit the basement as quickly as possible.

Anna listened with interest when Oscar told her that they didn't really use French in the carriage either. Huh. She definitely didn't expect that, but it kind of made sense. Maybe if she ever learned another language she would understand better. She doubted she'd be as good at languages as Oscar seemed to be though. "I guess that makes sense," she mused out loud, still thinking about it.
Anna laughed when Oscar asked if they could take the food with them, even though it was clear that he was completely serious. "Of course we can. Just give me a minute to get some food and we'll leave the dungeons." She wasn't really sure why he was so cold, but she didn't want him to be uncomfortable and now she had the perfect plan. She tickled the pear and walked into the kitchens, still holding onto his hand. "Can we get some snack to take with us?" She asked, waiting as the house elves raced around the kitchens gathering some foods. She didn't worry about what they'd choose. They knew her so she was sure it would all be things she liked. About a minute later, they brought a bag with food in it to her. Anna glanced inside the bag and smiled, "Thank you!" she said before turning and leaving with Oscar. "Was that fast enough for you?" She asked curiously, glancing over at him to see if he was still looking like he was cold. Why was he so cold, after all? She started leading him up staircases, hoping that it was getting warmer the farther away from the dungeons they got.
When they arrived at the portrait of the Fat Lady, Anna said the password and watched Oscar's face as she swung open. He probably wasn't expecting this at all, but he was about to see the Gryffindor Common Room. It was alright. Anna asked an auror a while ago if the visitors were allowed and he said yes, so she knew she wouldn't be getting into trouble for it. Not that she would care. She pulled Oscar over to the fire. "Let's sit down here," she told him as she sat down in front of the fire.

Oscar shrugged when Anna asked him if the good service was fast enough for him. Now that he was so cold, waiting a little longer probably wouldn’t change much. And now that the food was already delivered, complaining about the time it had taken would only serve to sour the mood. Oscar followed Anna as they trekked upwards, away from the drafty dungeons. Around the third floor, Oscar began to get the unpleasant feeling where he was still much too cold, but also was beginning to feel too warm because of all of the stairs that they were climbing. At the seventh floor, Oscar had his sleeves rolled up despite how cold his fingers still were, and he frowned. Anna was looking at him, but Oscar didn’t quite know why. He just wanted to sit somewhere nice so his body temperature could stabilize. Anna lead him into a room with a fire, and Oscar plopped down gratefully. “Is this your common room?” He asked after he had the time to catch his breath and fully appreciate where he was.

Anna didn't push Oscar to say anything. She didn't know if he was still cold after walking up all those stairs, but she was still hungry. More so than when they began, even. So she finally looked at the food the elves had given her, smiling when she saw crackers. She pulled them out and started munching on a few of them, looking over to Oscar curiously. Did he know where they were? She hadn't shown him the Gryffindor common room on their tour so she was pretty sure he didn't, but maybe he could guess. She smiled and nodded when he asked if they were in her common room. "Yes, this is the Gryffindor common room. What do you think?" Anna glanced around the room, wondering what he would think about it. From her point of view it looked comfortable and relaxing, homey even, but she had no idea what Oscar saw as homey. "Are you hungry?" She asked, pushing the bag towards him while taking a bite out of another cracker.

Anna confirmed that this was indeed the Gryffindor common room. She asked what he thought, and Oscar looked around curiously so that his opinion was not solely based on the fact that the common was comfortable and had a fire. “It seems to be a good place.” He said noncommittally. He had no doubt that Anna would rib him for saying that it was just ‘good’. But she also had several years of memories associated with the room, probably all of them good. Oscar had none of those things, and only his attachment to Anna kept the room from being anything other than just another place in a large, large castle. Anna asked if Oscar was hungry, and he shrugged. “I do not care.” He poked around the bag in a little before deciding that nothing was interesting to him. “J’aime le feu.” Oscar told Anna, wiggling his eyebrows at her as he spoke in French and wondering if she could guess his meaning.

Anna raised an eyebrow. "A good place?" She asked, mostly just to tease him. She really wasn't expecting much of a response from him, but it was fun to ask and see what he said. She nudged his shoulder with her own, mostly to emphasize the fact that she was teasing him. He said he didn't care about food and Anna smiled, taking another cracker. He didn't have to eat if he didn't want to. "Well if you change your mind, there's plenty here," she told him, though she was sure he already knew. Then he said something in french, wiggling his eyebrows and Anna laughed. "J'aime le feu," Anna tried to repeat, but her accent was terrible. He was probably going to make fun of her for that. "What does that mean?" She asked curiously.

Since Anna was questioning his assessment of the Gryffindor common room, Oscar decided to fall back on his alternative description. “It is not loud and it has a fire. Good place.” He said with a shrug. “I do not know what would make it a great place.” He added, just in case Anna was going to ask a question along those lines. He nodded when Anna said there was more than enough food if he wanted some. He knew that, and he was still in the process of trying to decide whether or not he was hungry. “It means ‘I like the fire’. Or just ‘I like fire’, depending on the context.” He trusted Anna to figure out which he was saying in this case. “It’s French.” He said, even though that was obvious.

Anna laughed when Oscar explained his definition of the Gryffindor common room. "It is a good place," she agreed, chuckling a little when he said he didn't know what would make it better. "Probably living here for seven years like I have," Anna said, shrugging. She liked her common room and was glad that Oscar seemed to as well. Her smile widened when he translated his previous statement. He liked the fire. Well of course he did! He was cold, after all. But still, what he said sounded beautiful. "I know it's French. Can you teach me?" Anna wondered whether or not he'd realize she was asking him to teach her now, but decided to wait.

“That is what I was thinking.” Oscar responded when Anna said that living in the Gryffindor tower and having access to the common room for seven years would make it a great place. “I do not have a place like this.” There were common areas in Beauxbatons, of course, but Oscar had never felt particularly comfortable in any of them. Anna asked him if he could teach her French, and Oscar shrugged. “I do not see why not.” He responded. “It will just be difficult to find out where to start.” He said, biting his lip. An entire language wasn’t easy to teach.

A part of Anna didn't want to ask if he meant he didn't have a place like this here or that he didn't have one in France, but she didn't want to brush off his comment. So after a few seconds she gave him a small smile, "Well you can come here with me whenever you want," she told him. Anna knew it wasn't the same thing as being there for seven years, but she hoped Oscar would appreciate the gesture. Anna smiled when he agreed to teach her, but she wasn't surprised. After all, he'd agreed to teach her weeks ago. They just hadn't made time for it yet. "Small phrases?" she suggested, but really didn't know if that would be realistic or anything. She'd never learned a language other than English, so she had no idea what to expect. She'd let Oscar take the lead on this.
