@magdalena <3 Nikolai Krum was officially crazy.
He was just on his way back home from a Quidditch Training, and when he was almost there he passed a small store. A store that was selling Christmas trees. His eyes immediately lit up, and he went right through the gates. He didn't have to look very far. Nikolai immediately walked up to one of the biggest trees, a solid 9 foot tall Fraser Fir. Grinning widely, he held it under his arms the entire way home, extremely excited to show Magdalena.
Nikolai showed up to the door, leaving it out front and without saying anything to her he went down into the basement to grab his multiple boxes of decorations and tree stand. Stumbling up the stairs, the boxes levitating in front of him, he called for her. "Ollivander! Get in here!"

Magdalena had worked the morning shift at the Three Broomsticks again and she still didn't like it. She just wasn't a morning person. The one advantage though was she got off early, so it gave her the rest of the day to do whatever she wanted. She'd gotten home about half an hour earlier and had already changed into a pair of leggings and an oversized sweater, her hair pulled up into a messy bun to keep her hair from her face. Her outfit choice was mostly for comfort but a small part to... well cover something. She'd noticed a small swelling in her stomach that morning. She wouldn't have even noticed if she hadn't been checking constantly for even the smallest of changes in her body. Regardless, the barely noticeable bulge had freaked her out enough to avoid her usual tank tops.
Currently she was up in Nikolai's study, flipping through some of their old spell books from school. She stopped on a chapter on nonverbal magic because realization struck. Her jaw literally gaped open. She and Nikolai had been partners for this chapter in class. She'd completely forgotten up until this very moment. As fate would have it that was also when she heard Nikolai calling her to come to him. Snapping the book shut she bolted out of the chair and down the stairs, just about colliding with one of the boxes he was currently levitating. Swearing loudly, the girl ducked just in time to avoid the collision. "Nikolai! You cursed me in sixth year!" she stated loudly, only after did her eyes adjust to see what it was he was up to. "What are you doing?"

@magdalena <3 Nikolai had finally made it up the stairs when he heard a yell from Magdalena. He set down the tree stand and glanced up at her, his eyebrows furrowed together. "Cursed you? What are you blubbering about?" Nikolai didn't remember cursing anyone in his sixth year. But there was a lot of things that happened in his sixth year at Hogwarts; and as far as Nikolai could remember, he had never met Magdalena.
She had ducked underneath the box and his confused expression immediately turned to excitement. "It's almost Christmas of course! We've got to decorate! I got a Christmas Tree! It's outside and it's huge!" He smiled. Nikolai bent back over and picked up the stand and set it right in front of the two windows, in between the two single chairs that he had in the living room. "Perfect! Let me go get it." He ran outside and picked it up, bringing it inside carefully. Niko set it in the stand, stood it up straight and screwed it in. He walked into the kitchen and filled up a pitcher of water. Nikolai loved magic, but when it came to decorating and Christmas time, he liked to do it the old fashioned muggle way.

Magdalena made a face as he accused her of blubbering. "I'm not blubbering!" She might be talking a little to fast for her own good, but that wasn't blubbering. It wasn't her fault though! She'd almost collided with the box! Seriously though, what was he doing? For some strange reason, her mind seemed to be running at a hundred miles an hour. "You did, I swear! In Charms! How can you not remember?!" She wasn't mad about it now, obviously, but the fact that they had interacted in school, more then she'd thought, shocked her. And how neither of them had remembered or brought it up before now.
Nikolai was absolutely beaming, and it was a little freaking to be honest. She gave him a wary look as she waited for his response. When she heard it though, that wary look was replaced with surprise. Christmas? "Oh." Was her initial reaction, that surprise still evident. Obviously it hadn't quite sunk in yet. After a few seconds it donned on her. "Oh!" How had she completely forgot it was December? Which meant Christmas at the end of the month! She had Irina had been talking about it in their letters, but it'd felt so far away then. Immediately her gaze turned to the boxes she'd almost crashed into. "Are these decorations?" She finally sounded excited. Taking the boxes, she set them on the ground, opening each one and peering inside. Though she stopped the moment the tree was brought in. She lit up then. "It's perfect!" She exclaimed happily.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai shook his head at Magdalena. That couldn't be true, that hadn't happened. He had never met her before! Charms class? Yes they had been the same year, but he never had a different partner in Charms class...wait. He stood up from watering the tree, looked at it, and looked back at her. He had been late once. Only once, the only class he had ever been late to and he had been partnered with...Magdalena Ollivander! Goodness she was so different! But as Nikolai remembered this, he remembered what he had done to her. His jaw dropped and he laughed hysterically. "Ha...Ha! Your...teeth!" Words were difficult to get out, hunched over, cracking up.
After he had caught his breath he wiped away a tear that had fallen, amusement running through him. "Can I do it again, Magi? Get a little refresher of the memory? I'm sure you wouldn't mind..." Nikolai winked. She questioned about the boxes and he nodded. "Of course they are! My mother gave me quite a few and I've bought some along the year. This is my first Christmas in this house, so I was getting excited." Nikolai let the boxes rest on the ground and he walked over to Magdalena, his hand resting on her belly and his lips touching her forehead. "I love you."

Magdalena huffed and scrunched up her nose in annoyance as he started to laugh. Hysterically. It'd taken the rest of the afternoon to get her teeth back to normal after that! And then he just had to add on to it, asking if he could do it again. She gasped. "You most certainly can't!" Somehow during the time he'd been laughing she crossed the room to him. So, now close enough to reach him, she placed her hands on his shoulders and leaned in as if to kiss him on the forehead. It was a total decoy though, because just before she could, she pushed him over. "It's several years late, but that's for cursing me." She smugly retorted as she finally got her revenge for the act. With a 'hmph' she moved back to the boxes and started to pull out the decorations from the first one to see them. Each one she pulled out she set aside on the couch. She had no idea what sort of decorations he had, so they'd need to check them all first just to see.
It was strange. Decorating for Christmas. Because it'd be the first year without her mother. Her mother had loved Christmas... Swallowing the emotions back down before they could reach the surface she forced herself to smile. She didn't want to think about that. Still refused to fully come to terms with everything going on in her family. This might be her first year without her mother, but it was also her first year with Nikolai. He was moving towards her now, and she turned to meet him. Her arms snaked around his waist and she leaned into him as he kissed her forehead. "I love you too." she softly answered. "We'll make this the best first Christmas." She added as she leaned back to grin up at him.

@magdalena <3 Nikolai didn't even care that she was upset about it. He couldn't stop the laughing. That was one of the funniest things he had ever done! Normally in school, Niko hadn't been mean or bullying of anyone as he didn't know anyone's stories or pasts and such. However that day, Magdalena had been an absolute pain. Her little Hufflepuff self all sweet and kind with even sweeter comebacks. It had just bothered him to the point where he had to embarrass her, which he sure as hell did. Magi pushed him to the ground and he fell on his bottom, grinning. "You're very welcome!"
He had gotten up and walked over to her because he saw the look on her face. Niko wasn't sure what it was about, but he had a small feeling. Magi had already set out some decorations and was now holding him as well. "Are you alright?" He wasn't sure she'd answer, but he hoped she would. After that first meeting...that first day that he had allowed her to touch him, then the day he told her everything about him and why he was the way he was, he'd hoped she'd be able to do the same with him. Nikolai knew very little, but he wanted to help Magdalena as much as possible. He took a deep breath and kissed her lips, then let go and turned to the boxes, emptying them as well. "Lights first?"

Of course he was proud of his accomplishment! Looking back now, it had been a pretty good curse, especially considering it was done nonverbally. But at the time it had not been funny at all, and she'd been mortified for weeks! "Ugh, you were so obnoxious in school." She retorted, though part of her wanted to say that hadn't changed much. In some areas, it definitely hadn't. He was still pretty obnoxious at times.
Magdalena's smile faltered for a moment when he asked if she was alright. Of course he'd seen that slip of emotion, that micro expression that had escaped her control before she could reign it back in. She'd never talked to him much about her family. A few rare occasions, but nothing recently. Of course he knew her whole family situation. Her mother's murder, her father's imprisonment, and her having no contact with her older brother. None of that was knew to him. But she'd never openly and freely talked to him about it. Not because she didn't trust him. She did, without a doubt. It was just... She didn't like talking about it. "Yeah, I'm good. Just a first Christmas for a lot of things." She explained vaguely. She'd talk to him about it... sometime. But definitely not right now. They were going to be decorating, which meant a joyful Christmas spirit! Kissing him back, she managed to sneak one more kiss in on his nose before he managed to pull away from her and turn to the boxes. "No. Music first!" She responded quickly, and moved just as fast to turn on the radio, changing it to the first channel she found that was playing Christmas music. "Now we can do lights."

@magdalena <3 "Me? Obnoxious? Yeah right. I was great in school." Nikolai laughed. Yes, he was a pain. But he always was. And honestly, who wasn't in school? Everyone had their moments, Nikolai's had just been with Magdalena. Then and now. But he knew she loved him, regardless of his act of growing her teeth to an insane amount. Ah, that would be a story for the rest of their lives. "That's something we can tell her when she's older." As Niko pointed to her stomach, he realized what he said and his cheeks turned a light pink. "Or him."
As she spoke he nodded his head and kissed the top of her head. "I'm always here when you need me." He know he didn't have to say anything more and that Magdalena would know what he meant. Nikolai didn't plan on forcing her to speak to him, just as she didn't do to him. It would be a process but in the end she'd feel much better about herself and the entire situation when she was comfortable to speak about it. Nikolai chuckled at the small peck she left on his nose before running to the radio. A song came on and he laughed, realizing it was a muggle Christmas song, sung by someone named Elvis. As Nikolai grabbed the lights out of the box and handed the end to Magi so he could untangle them, he began singing quietly the words of the song, winking at the gorgeous girl in front of him.

Magdalena blinked in surprise when he said 'her', only to add 'him' after a few moments, as if embarrassed. Slowly, very slowly, a grin spread across her lips. "Her? I thought you didn't care what gender." She teased. Magdalena had said early on that she'd like a girl. She'd be just as happy with a boy though, but girls were so much cuter to dress up! To be honest though, she just... she had this strange feeling that it was a girl. She couldn't explain it though. It was just some strange... Knowing. "We'll know for sure in January.... And then when they are older tell them just how mean daddy was in school." She added, both teasing and serious. January, that was when she'd be far enough along for them to tell the gender. As much as she loved this time of year, she did almost want it to be over, because it meant they were closer to the due date. She'd been having terrible side affects lately, and she just wanted them to be done with. She'd never been around pregnant women, so she'd had no idea that it could be this bad. Thankfully today was one of her better days.
Magdalena nodded at his words, smiling softly. "Thanks." She answered. Someday. Someday she'd lay it all out for him. Taking the end of the strand of lights she started to pull it out as he untangled it, making sure it didn't try to roll back into itself. That was when she heard him softly singing along. It immediately made her flash a grin as he winked. "How many strands of lights do you want to put up?"

@magdalena <3 "Well I don't care... But I'd love a daughter if I had the choice." Not that Nikolai would love a son any less, of course he wants a son. Someday. But he felt like a baby girl would be good for them. "Daniel wants it to be a girl..." Of course that didn't matter as Daniel would most likely just be the uncle but he felt like saying it. "I was not mean! You and I just had one simple run in and you were a pest so I took care of you." A chuckle escaped his lips.
Magi questioned about the lights and he tilted his head as he surveyed the tree. "Well, we might need three or four since it's so large. But I've got outdoor lights too that we can hang outside!" Christmas was Nikolai's favorite Holiday. He loved everything about it, although decorating was his number one favorite. "And I've got tinsel, and ribbon..." He was now pulling out random items from the boxes, but leaving the star, ornaments, and rug for under the tree inside. The outside decorations were in another box somewhere but this was enough for now, the other stuff could wait.

Magdalena grinned as he said he'd love a daughter, given a choice. That even Daniel wanted it to be a girl. Nikolai had told her when he accidentally told his best friend. She didn't mind. Honestly, he might have figured it out next time he ran into Magdalena, if his ability worked on pregnancies. It'd be interesting to try that out... "You might think I'm crazy for saying this... and I probably am crazy, but I think it is a girl." She slowly admitted. With her luck though, she was probably jinxing them by saying that aloud. Magi stuck her tongue out at him after a moment, and set the strand of lights down so she could cross back to him and lightly poke him in the shoulder. "Well, I don't think you did a good job 'taking care of me' back then, since your stuck with me now." The irony that they'd ended up together despite that cursing experience.
"You can do the outdoor lights. Should be pretty quick with that broom of yours." She laughed. It was true though. That, when it came to the outside she'd be helping magically, mostly because climbing up on top of the house was probably a very bad idea when pregnant. With each appointment she was getting a longer list of things she could, and couldn't do, based off of how the baby was developing. She was currently banned from lifting anything too heavy. That was a pretty new one. "I think we're all set to get this tree decked out and festive then!" She scooped up the strand he'd finished untangling and took them over to the tree, plugging the strand in.

@magdalena <3 Her words brought a large smile to his face. Magdalena thought it was a girl too! That was amazing! But, Nikolai didn't want to get too excited. They wouldn't know for another month and if it was a boy he didn't want either of them to be disappointed, although he doubted either of them would be. Daniel, probably, but not these two soon to be parents. Either way, they'd love this baby through everything. Niko was glad Magi hadn't been upset about him telling Dan, although, he was curious to see how Dan was around her while pregnant. If he would be able to feel this growing humans emotions over Magi's. She poked him and he laughed, shrugging his shoulders. "I did a great job! Just because we ended up together now doesn't mean I wasn't satisfied back then!"
"Of course! But I have blow up items and other things we can stick in the snow that light up! I love Christmas, Magdalena." Nikolai had officially gone all out with the different things in the basement. He even had smaller things to put around the house, small reindeers and snowmen, singing objects, mistletoes, more tinsel to hang on the walls, everything you could think of. Even stockings, but he'd save that surprise for later. Magdalena plugged in the lights and he smiled at the sight. "Tinsel time."

Magdalena made a face. Oh he just sounded so proud of himself that he'd cursed her sixth year. Jerk. "You should be nicer to me, I'm the one carrying your child after all!" She whined as she stuck her lip out just enough to pout.
Inflatable decorations..? Magdalena gave him a confused look, making it obvious that she'd never had any such decorations before in her life. "Like what?" What sort of decorations needed to be inflated?

@magdalena <3 "Oh I'm plenty nice! Just because I wasn't once, and maybe the entire first time I met you doesn't mean I'm not nice." They had plenty of arguments, but from their sixth year to now, they both were completely different people. Nikolai had become more and more angry and cautious, and in a way, so had Magdalena. But they worked well together, as friends and as a couple, and Niko wouldn't change their experiences for the world. Some of them were worse than others, this Charms class specifically, but now it was something they could laugh about. "Our child will be perfectly fine. And quite a good mix of the two of us, I hope."
"Like what?! Like reindeer, and santa, and tons of other stuff! You blow them up and they just sit in the yard lit up with the other lights." He grinned. Nikolai always decorated their house as children, the inside and the outside. The Krums had many different things they did as a family every year, decorating being one of them. Nikolai began pulling out the tinsel. He only had the color gold, as he didn't want too many colors mixed together. Quickly, he wrapped it around the tree so they could get to taking out the ornaments.
