Natalie was at the Yule Ball and had just talked with her lovely friend Astoria when she saw her daughter not far off. She was alone for the moment, which was a small miracle, so Nat took the opportunity to cross the room to her. She didn't want to keep her daughter for long, since she had other things to do and boys to dance with, but she at least wanted to say hello.
"Ondina," she greeted, gliding over to stand beside her daughter. "You look completely brilliant, darling. Of course, that doesn't surprise me," she complimented.

@natalie
Ondina had just parted ways with Daryl. Obviously not for the night, just for a bit. She was pretty sure they'd be meeting back up at the end of the night. Either way, for the moment she was free to do whatever she wanted, and what better way to spend the free time then finding out if the rumors about her mother was true? Because right then, Ondina spotted the older blonde woman crossing the Great Hall, moving towards her. In no time at all Ondina's mother, who Ondina had obviously taken after in regards to looks, was there by her side. "Hi mum." Ondina greeted softly as she brushed her hair off her shoulders. "Dad couldn't come?" She asked, realizing then that she actually hadn't spotted her father. The Ministry members had brought their own dates, so where was her father?
She smiled at her mother's compliment and ran a hand down the fabric of the dress again. Maybe it was a good thing her father wasn't there. This wasn't the type of dress he'd enjoy seeing his youngest daughter in. "Thank you, but we both know I get it from you." She returned the compliment, though surprisingly meant it. It wasn't a secret that her mother was beautiful. Insane, most definitely, but beautiful.

Her daughter greeted her and asked about her father and Natalie shook her head, "no, I'm on my own tonight. But don't worry, your brother did dance with me, as well as that Jamie Greyback girl Harper used to date," she explained with a happy chuckle. "Nice girl," she commented again absent mindedly.
Ondina smiled at the compliment, touching the dress in question. But then Ondina complimented her right back, and Natalie smiled even more. It was true that the two of them looked the most alike in their little family. "I am grateful that it turned out this way. Genes are pretty tricky things, but I'm glad," she half teased. "Did you come with a date? I've seen you around with Padmas boy," she commented, gesturing toward the dance floor where she had seen them.

Aw, no dad? Ondina looked slightly disappointed by the comment. "That's too bad. I haven't seen him since school started." Ondina really did love her parents, which would surprise most people that knew how she felt about the rest of her relatives. As her mother went on to talk about her younger brother she just shrugged. She hasn't actually seen him at all tonight. At the mention of Jamie though... well it took all her self control to hide the look of disdain. Ugh, Jamie. Perfect little Hufflepuff that seemed convinced the whole world was out to get her because she happened to have a famous dad. How she wished she could burst that little bubble.... thankfully her expression didn't give away any of the thoughts she'd just had. "Very nice." she chose to say instead with a smile as she agreed with her mother.
It was true, Ondina had taken the most after her mother. "You didn't do to bad with my siblings, you know. They might not take after you as much as me but they at least got some of your charms." Ondina teases right back. Both of her parents were rather good looking, a fact Ondina was actually quite proud of.
Both eyebrows raises at the mention of a date and then Daryl. Was she really that surprised her mother had been watching earlier? "I did, but it didn't work out." Ondina explained nonchalantly. She really wasn't that bothered by Grey deciding to wait until tonight to let her know he was onto her scheme. In fact she had to applaud him for being clever enough to wait until now. Maybe he wasn't as stupid and gullible as she thought. Though then there was Daryl... She looked away from her mother and let her gaze wander to where Daryl was, leaning against a wall and talking to a stunningly beautiful girl. Ondina didn't recognize, but she could recognize flirting. There was a strange... tightness in her chest. She knew that emotion well. Jealousy. Immediately she looked away. She shouldn't be jealous of Daryl flirting with other girls. She knew his reputation. "His name is Daryl."
@natalie (Can I just say I love how much these two look alike?) @jill16 (so you can see the reference XD)

Ondina mentioned her disappointment at not seeing her father, which made Natalie smile softly. Her daughter seemed uninterested in those Nat had danced with, just being polite. Which was fine by Nat. Ondina said that she didn't do too bad with her kids, giving some of her charm to them. Natalie laughed at the teasing, giggling a bit. "Well, alas, sometimes I think that's all they got," she joked. She of course thought that Xavier and Harper were beautiful children! That didn't mean it wasn't funny to poke fun at them with Ondina. Natalie knew their family was rather charismatic as well as physically appealing. She would be lying if she said she wasn't proud of that fact.
Ondina said it didn't work out with her date and Natalie frowned, even though her daughter didn't seem too torn up about it. She mentioned Daryl, though, and Natalie nodded. "Well," Natalie let her gaze find the boy as well, "he seems like he'd be good company. Are you too close, then?" she asked casually. She hoped ONdina knew she really didn't have to answer.
