overall personality:
Being a Malfoy meant growing up knowing of his pedigree. Scorpius learned from a young age what it meant and what was expected out of him, and for the most part that has carried over until now. He likes proving his intelligence through classes and games of wit, preferring to win at any cost. From this, Scorpius can come off as cocky and arrogant even when he’s not trying to be. It’s unfortunately in his blood and comes with the family name. At the same time though, he has the patience to play games with others for fun, toning back the intensity and thrill of a challenge in order to teach others about his favorite hobbies.
The arrogance that does make it through likes to rear its ugly head. At times, he forgets that not everyone is him, can be like him, or has the chances that he has had. Being the center of attention is one of his most gratifying feelings, whether it’s in front of the entire school or just a few people. Times like this are when he realizes that he’s viewed the same way his father was while he was in school, and makes Scorpius re-evaluate his choices every so often. In the end though, he ends up returning to the normalcy that he finds comfort in, since he knows that it’s never going to leave him.
Along with the higher-class status and being a Malfoy comes a sense of order. He’s not completely helpless if things start to fall apart, but it can come very close to it if he’s not careful. While he tries to balance leisure and education, if one starts to slip he’ll make an immediate change to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. Falling behind on schoolwork and receiving poor marks is a no-no in his books, and doing so means extra hours studying to make sure he gets everything right. On the side of friendships, he finds that he can become extremely indecisive, something he hates in others, if he becomes overwhelmed (namely that romance stuff. I’m looking at you Ondina Nell Weasley and Rozalina Antonina Nightshade ). As long as things are clear cut though, Scorpius makes sure that his friends know he’s there for them no matter what.

history:
Born into the Malfoy family was the epitome of living a comfy, cushy life filled with wealth and luxury. Old money, whether legal or not, and high standards made a difference in his upbringing. Of course, having parents that deeply cared for him did a thing or two, but at the end of the day it only reinforced what he was expected of doing with his life. Lots of travel, attending social gatherings, and being part of an overall bourgeoisie lifestyle constructed most of Scorpius’s childhood. One of the perks of being able to do this from such a young age was making connections he hoped to be important one day. The family name did half of it already, but sometimes that still invited a few unsightly characters. Scorpius was made aware of his family’s situation from an early age, keeping it in mind for when it would be necessary later on.
Being raised in this manner meant that he was completely ready for whatever was thrown at him intellectually, utilizing the social and educational skills he had mastered prior to Hogwarts as a way to get a step up on the other children his age. Of course, that created friends, enemies, and a conglomeration of both of those. These relationships, dictated by a little 11-year old Scorpius would wax and wane over the years, some changing, some remaining the same. While that went on, he was constantly reminded by his parents that there really was only one important relationship in life that could never change, no matter what: family. Most children would see this as a sign of extremely overbearing parents, but Scorpius enjoys it. Being favored gave him a sense of importance.
The last year and a half of school have sent Scorpius for a loop. A messy string of love affairs and confusion between Ondina Weasley and her cousin Rose left him unsure of what to do. His course work suffered slightly as he let indecisiveness in his personal life take over every other aspect of him. Events that may or may not have included the destruction of a tower, flip-flopping back and forth between Ondina and Rose, and which one was really meant for him, all on top of the killings of muggleborns and the kidnapping of numerous classmates. Not one to be bothered with blood status, as much as his dear parents wished he would be, Scorpius found himself more worried about figuring out which Weasley girl he loved more. Hoping that had been solidified when he found himself snogging Rose in a closet while hiding during the kidnappings (including their connecting wands from a few months earlier), he hoped things would become more normalized upon entry into his seventh, and final, year at Hogwarts.
Of course, things are never that simple. What he assumed would be another easy year at school, one that he could spend harmoniously with Rose, has seemed to be uprooted again by Ondina. Coupled with the Triwizard Tournament being held again at Hogwarts, Scorpius felt his calling for competition. He entered his name, thinking that would give more stability to his life when things started to fall apart. The Goblet didn’t choose him, so he decided to return to what he did best: reestablishing order in his life. From here, he hopes to patch things up in his personal life so that everything becomes cohesive again. So that things start to make sense, and so that he can feel like he isn’t losing the ones that he loves.
