Dom was in need for some excitement and when she was in this kind of a mood, there was only one person she could rely on consistently to fulfill her needs: cousin Lily. The two were notorious for having occasional adventures together and that was the kind of mood Dom woke up with this morning. So she decided to search for her cousin in the Great Hall during breakfast. Surely Lily would be able to spend some of her time this Saturday with Dom. So Dom was sitting on the Ravenclaw table, nibbling absent-mindedly at some toast while she kept her eyes on the doors to the Great Hall. She already ate breakfast while she was waiting to see Lily show up. The second she saw her cousin enter, Dom jumped up and practically skipped across the hall to her. "Lily! Good morning!" She said with a smile. She might as well give Lily some time to eat or something before springing her plans for them on her. lily luna potter

Lily wasn't going to go to breakfast today but... well, her stomach betrayed her. She was hungry. So, finally, she showed up in the hall only to have her cousin, Dominique, approach her with that dazzling smile. Lily gave a soft smile back, not really committing, "mornin' Dommy," she said softly.
She loved Dom and the two of them were as thick as thieves. Out of all her cousins, this was probably the one she was the closest too. The two of them were incredibly alike and crazy together, and Lily loved that. Maybe Dom was the perfect person for a pick me up. "What's up?" Lily asked, moving to grab an apple off the nearest table.

Something was wrong. All it took was one look at Lily's wimpy smile to convince Dom of that. The thing was, she didn't know if her cousin wanted to talk or if she wanted to get distracted. Or both. So she kept up her cheery attitude, determined to do whatever necessary to help her. She narrowed her eyes at her for a second before throwing on an overly dramatic pouting face. "I'm bored Lil! When are we going to do something fun?" She asked, batting her lashes at her favorite cousin as she grabbed an apple. No, she wasn't avoiding the conversation of what was going on with Lily. Dom just knew better than to try and get Lily to open up in front of a bunch of people. "Why don't we get some food in you and then we can ditch everyone else?" She asked, grabbing Lily's hand over to a table and sitting down herself. That might get Lily to sit down, but one could never be sure. lily luna potter

Lily smiled softly at Doms words. She would love to do something fun, at least she normally would. She felt sick to her stomach, though, at the thought of running off on one of their crazy antics. What was wrong with her?! She loved messing around with Dom. That was her favorite pastime for the past sixteen years! "Soon," was all Lily answered before Dom was grabbing her hand and sitting at the table.
Lily took a seat, too, because it was easier that way, and just stared at the food in front of her. "Yeah, eating is good. What should I eat?" she said flatly.

When all that Lily said was that they would do something fun soon, Dom's suspicions were confirmed. Something was definitely wrong with her friend and dear cousin. She was glad when Lily sat at the table with her and didn't fight it. Dom know how stubborn Lily could be when she wanted to be. Dom was exactly the same way. At the moment, however, her attention was entirely focused on Lily as she tried to figure out what's going on. "You and I are going to have a talk," she said after just a few moments, cocking her head to the right a little as she inspected her cousin. "But not in here." She then turned her attention to the food. "How does an omelette sound?" She asked. Lily liked omelettes, didn't she? Dom couldn't remember, but those were the first things she saw, so she just went with it. lily luna potter

A talk? Lily groaned, looking back down at the food but not eating any. But not here, thank goodness. Dom offered an omelet and Lily looked up at her, shrugging her shoulders. "Doesn't really matter. Food is just food," now THAT didn't sound like Lily. Lily loved food, especially sweets. To be indifferent about it meant that something really was wrong with the sixteen year old redhead.
Still, in the back of her mind, normal Lily could hear Dom's voice and wanted to come out to play... it just needed a little more encouragement.

Lily was groaning, obviously not happy at the idea of a talk. Dom's eyes narrowed as she looked at her cousin, trying to gauge her mood. Dom would much rather do something fun, but there was a point where she knew that she'd be fighting a losing battle. Lily could be quite stubborn when she wanted to be. Her mouth fell open when Lily said that food was just food. "What!?" She exclaimed, not able to contain herself. "Food is just food?!? Where is my cousin and what have you done with her?" Dom demanded, deciding that she wasn't going to take this right now. She was going to find some way to snap Lily out of this, no matter what it took. Dom's mouth twisted mischievously as a plan came to mind. She was going to try some things to pull Lily out of this mood. "Hurry up and eat," she demanded. She wasn't about to take Lily out to do some type of an adventure without making sure her cousin was taken care of first. "We've gotta get out of this boring hall," she commented, positive that Lily would realize that talking was going to come much later, after her mood had been lifted. Dom didn't know what to do with a sad Lily, so she was going to do all she could to bring her spirits up. lily luna potter

Doms surprise and her question as to what happened to her cousin wasn't shocking to Lily. Lily knew she wasn't being herself, she was just having trouble snapping out of it. Lily shrugged, "she's somewhere around here, Dom," she answered softly. Then, Lily turned toward her cousin in time to see that grin twist onto her face. Lily leaned back slightly, her eyes widening a little. "I'm good. I'll just take this," she said, holding up an apple. She felt a tugging in her stomach, pulling her toward Dom and whatever she wanted to do.
She pushed away from the table and stood up, "where are we going?" she asked, her tone still a little flat but her eyes were slowly regaining their warmth, their excitement. The mystery and anticipation was one of the best parts of her adventures.

That wasn't good enough for Dom. She didn't want Lily to be "somewhere around here". She needed her best friend and cousin to snap out of ... whatever had her down. That was what they did for one another. They went on crazy adventures together, had tons of fun, and were there for one another when things weren't so great. After all, that's what Lily did for her when Ethan died. She helped Dom find herself- at least, part of herself- once more. Dom knew something was wrong and she was going to do what she could to help Lily come back and then later she'd ask what was going on. When Lily said she was fine with just an apple, Dom reached over and grabbed some more fruit, throwing it into her bag before reaching for her cousin's hand so she could pull her out of the Great Hall. "That is something for me to know and you to find out, Lily dearest," Dom teased as she went toward the front doors. She loved being outside and she knew that Lily loved it too. It would be easier to bring her back once outside, Dom thought. She pulled Lily over to the pond, which was frozen over. Looking sideways at her cousin, Dom pulled out her wand and conjured two pairs of ice skates. "Put these on, Lil. We're gonna go out there on the ice." She wasn't sure if this was quite adventurous enough, but it was the first thing that popped into her head once she arrived outside, so she might as well give it a go. If the rush and exhilaration of ice skating wasn't enough, Dom would think of something else. "Are you ready?" She asked with a grin before going out. lily luna potter

Lily found herself smiling when Dom poured more fruit into her bag. She allowed Dom to take her hand and let her lead her out. It was rare that Lily let someone else lead, but Dom was one of those people she allowed to. She liked the mystery of Dom not telling her what they were going to do. She wasn't even sure if Dom knew, but that was fine with her. Lily and her were impulsive and physical beings. That was why she was the one person who was going to succeed in cheering her up right now.
They were soon outside and the fresh hair filled Lily's lungs with hope and maybe a little but of laughter. She smiled again, surprised that she was able to do so. Still quiet, though. She was pulled to the pond and Lily looked over at Dom. Then the ice skates appeared and Lily was told to put them on. Lily released her cousins hand and lifting her own wand, not even bending over to tie the skates and letting the magic do all the work to get them on her feet.
"Are you ready?" Dom asked. Lily simply nodded and went out onto the ice, starting slow at first but then speeding up and doing circles, eventualyl going backward. She let out a small laugh, "amazing," she said softly.

Dom noticed when Lily started smiling a little bit. It wasn't back to the normal Lily, not even close, but it was a good start. The bad thing was that Lily still wasn't saying anything. Not even when Dom told her what they were going to do. Dom watched, her eyes entirely focused on her cousin as she used magic to put on the skates. Something was going on and Dom's curiosity was killing her. Anyone else and Dom would have demanded to know what was happening, but she knew that Lily wouldn't react well to that. Dom slid onto the ice, watching as her favorite cousin went as fast as she could, skating across the ice and doing circles. "You never told me you were a professional ice skater," Dom called, teasing as she skated nearer to her cousin. "You can go backwards?" Dom grinned at her cousin. "Are you hiding all your tricks from me? Don't tell me you know how to do jumps." Dom watched curiously, trying to figure out what else she could do to help Lily come out of this. lily luna potter

Lily shrugged as Dom teased as to her skating abilities. Dom challenged her, basically to do a jump and Lily smirked a bit. "Going backwards is easy, Dom," she explained, "it's the same as going forward, just the other way," she normally would have giggled at making that tease, but she still wasn't quite there yet. She did prepare to jump, though. She sped forward, curving into a circle until she had the momentum she needed to push off, lifting into the air and spinning before landing again, gracefully on one skate and gliding backwards on it. She wrapped her arms around her stomach to offer a small bow before a small laugh escaped her.
"Go on. Try going backwards," she said, spinning back into a forward skating position and moving toward the fellow redhead.

Dom grinned. Of course she knew how to skate backwards as well, but she was trying to help Lily in whatever way she could. Normally she would have expected her cousin to call her out and make her skate backwards immediately but she hadn’t. Dom watched as Lily sped up and actually did a jump. She clapped her hands quickly, “Bravo Lily, that was fabulous!” She called, grinning at her cousin. Dom could tell that things weren’t back to normal, but it seemed like Lily was slowly coming out of it. Maybe. Then Lily asked her to try going backwards and Dom laughed, skating toward her cousin before spinning around so she was moving backwards. “I never said I couldn’t do it, Lily. I just didn’t know you could.” Spins? Now that wasn’t really Dom’s area of expertise. She could try- and would if Lily asked her to- but she’d never done it before, so she had no idea how it would go for her. She looked around, a little surprised to see that a small crowd was growing nearby. “Hey Lily, we have company,” Dom told her cousin with a mischievous smile. “You ready to give them a show?” Honestly, she had no idea what the two of them would do, but Dom did know that it would be fun. Especially if she could get Lily out of this mood she was in. lily luna potter

Dom applauded her, which just fed Lily's ego even more, which was a good thing right now. Lily needed that Ego, it was part of her charm. Then, Dom showed she could indeed skate backwards and Lily laughed, "awe, well! I'm impressed. Look at us, so graceful," she chuckled.
Then, Dom pointed out some other students gathering nearby. Class must have gotten out for some of the younger kids. Lily grinned, "sure," she agreed. She sped toward Dom and held her hands out to her, ready to spin together. Lily always wondered if people thought they were twins, the way they looked and acted so similar.
Skating was a great idea, and Lily was already feeling much better, forgetting about Adrian momentarily.

When Dom skated backwards Lily laughed, which made Dom smile. She knew Lily wasn't over whatever happened- whatever that was- but she was going to do her best to help out. "Of course we're both graceful!" Dom agreed with a small giggle. "We are cousins, you know? It comes with our amazing genes." Dom was not above bragging, especially since she knew Dom loved that kind of stuff. Lily sped at Dom, who reached out and took hands with her, and the two began to spin together more quickly than Dom could really pay attention to. She laughed as their momentum made them quicker and quicker, though she closed her eyes to keep herself from getting dizzy. After a while, Dom let go of Lily, shooting off in the direction she was facing and doing and individual spin and ending with a flourish. She turned so she could see what Lily did to impress everyone. Hopefully this was helping her even more, having an audience. lily luna potter
