@margaux <3 The first dance with all the champions had just ended, and Elias honestly thought it had lasted forever. With everyone looking at him and watching him, it made him nervous but he knew Margaux sucked in all of the attention and loved it. The dancing part was not difficult as he knew how to dance from long ago, it was the spotlight on him that made it all difficult. But hey, he made it out alive, right? That's what mattered.
Elias quickly brought Margaux away from the crowd to a nearby table and shook his head. "This is crazy." Drinking an entire goblet of water made him feel much better, and he grinned at his date. "Izglezhdash prekrasno, sweet Margaux." She really did. Her dress was everything he imagined and more, and Elias was still shocked she had decided to be his date.

This is the sort of thing that Margaux Schuyler was born to do; shine. She'd felt more than a few pairs of eyes on her as she whirled around the ballroom with Elias Greyback, Durmstrang champion and her date for the evening. He was a sweet boy, and certainly plenty of fun to be around. Though in that department, his cousin had him beat by a milestone. Still, tonight would be about Elias, at least for now. This was his moment too she supposed. "Merci beaucoup mon cher," she purred as he told her how beautiful she looked, kissing him on the cheek as they sat down at a small table. If it were up to Margaux, she would continue to dance the night away; she loved to dance, even ballroom style. But if Elias needed to sit for a moment, that was fine for now too. Her dark eyes scanned the ballroom, finally coming to rest on Maria, who was attending with another Durmstrang girl, the one with the shaved head. Margaux had meant to find out what her name was, but she found she couldn't be bothered. Too many people to see, too much to do. Her thoughts turned back to Desirae for a moment and her expression darkened. No, tonight was about having fun, not about contemplating revenge. She shook back her long hair and turned to Elias with a bright smile. "What eez it you would like to do next?" she asked, curling a lock of hair around one finger and looking at him intently. @jill6

@margaux <3 Elias blushed slightly at the kiss he felt on his cheek. He knew Margaux was completely opposite of him, wanting to dance the night away. But with the first dance being all eyes on him it had been incredibly nerve wracking. Once other people had begun to get up and dance, then he'd feel more comfortable going over there with her. But right now Elias was quite content with sitting and drinking his water. He felt bad, but he knew that after the Ball was over, Margaux most likely would not be spending the night with him. While it was somewhat depressing, he had already been preparing himself for this. He just hoped it wouldn't be with Maria; that would sort of make it feel like a stab in the back from his cousin.
Margaux asked what he'd like to do and he rose an eyebrow at her. "We could dance some more if you'd like...unless you want to go for a walk outside?" Elias stood up after drinking the rest of his water and smiled at Margaux. Elias was still a complete baffled idiot around her, but what else was expected? He had no idea how to act around girls OR guys for that matter, especially one with Veela blood.

Margaux surveyed him appraisingly as he suggested either going for a walk or dancing more. Truth be told she'd like to dance more, and only a tiny bit of that had to do with keeping an eye on Maria and her date. But she could tell that Elias did not really like all the eyes on him all the time; he deserved a little break. "Let us go for a walk zen mon cher, ze fresh air would do us some good I theenk," she told him. She extended her hand to him and pulled him out of his seat. As he stood she took a step in and curled her arm around the crook of his elbow, and put her other hand on top of her own. They walked outside and Margaux had to grudgingly admit that the castle had done a lovely job decorating the courtyard and gardens. There were fairy lights everywhere to Margaux's slight disappointment; how was a couple supposed to get any privacy in this light? She knew with the war going on, and it was a war despite what their Ministry refused to admit out loud, the Aurors would stand in the way of finding a private place. Still, the night was young, and anything could happen. "Wheech way would you like to go?" she asked, her tone silkily seductive. @jill6

@margaux <3 Elias heard her words and before he could respond, she pulled him up out of his chair. He smiled and allowed her to wrap her arm around his own, and they began to walk. The fresh air definitely would help, and Elias would love to dance more once they went back inside. It was definitely fun inside, but it was beautiful outside and the cold air felt wonderful. He immediately glanced down at Margaux and rose an eyebrow. "Take my jacket if you get cold, or we can go back inside and dance some more."
Her tone of voice made him smile, and he took a look around. Ah, left or right, just like the maze. Chuckling quietly to himself, he nodded at her. "Why don't you choose? Seeing as in the first task I have bad luck with picking which way to go." Elias' own voice was low, not as sulky or seductive, but definitely interested in what she had in her mind.

Margaux had the grace to smile as Elias offered her his jacket. "Eet eez alright, the cold doesn't bother me just yet," she told him reassuringly, squeezing his arm. They stepped down the stairs and she looked up at him with a little pout. "Oh stop eet Elias, you are too 'ard on yourself," she chided, hitting his arm lightly, but steering them to the left towards a hedgemaze. She figured that would be more private than the market stalls towards the right. "You will show everyone what you are made of in ze Second and Third Tasks. You 'ave to beat zat pompous Emile, and I don't say zat much about my fellow students." Okay Margaux was lying; she had no problem admitting she was competitive and wasn't afraid to talk smack about anyone who got in her way. She moved one of her hands so she snaked her arm around Elias' waist. "Do not dwell on the past mon cher, eet will not 'elp you move forward," she told him, her voice full of confidence and just the touch of arrogance. @jill6

@margaux <3 Elias nodded his head. If she wasn't cold he'd of course keep his jacket, but he was sure she had to get cold soon. Especially if you saw the dress she had on. Now it was beautiful, but also showed a lot of skin; skin that was in contact with the breeze. Margaux's small squeeze on his arm made Elias raise his eyebrows. Her words made him laugh, and he nodded his head. "Maybe I am too hard on myself. But that pompous Emile will be quite hard to beat, Margaux. You saw how easily he made it through this first task." Elias felt her arm snake around his waist and he brought his arm to rest over her shoulder, twisting a small piece of her hair in between his fingers. "I'll try not to, krasiva. For you."

Margaux snickered at his comment about Emile; she and Emile had been rather well acquainted with each other in the past, but she could certainly see him come across as pompous. Arrogant and pig-headed were other words she’d use, but he was also quite fun in the way Margaux needed him to be. Elias was a different story; he had been hesitant when she’d first engaged him but his confidence grew quickly and he was more sure of himself now. Margaux gave herself a little credit for that of course. “Let us not talk about zat Emile tonight; tonight for me eez about you,” she purred, leaning over to kiss him on the cheek. She was leading him out towards the gardens; not many people had come down to see what the school had provided them outdoors yet, so it was relatively untouched. “What would you like to do first mon cher?” she asked, gazing around the various food stalls and the icicle trees with mistletoe hanging from them.

@margaux <3 Elias chuckled along with her laugh, enjoying the sound. Margaux was not a person he's ever met before; she was sweet, and incredibly seductive. Though, he felt like there was definitely a lot more to her than he'd ever realize. The small kiss to his cheek took him away from his thoughts, and he nodded his head. "Of course, and for me it is about you." Elias squeezed her side slightly. Elias took a look around at everything outside, considering their options. He didn't have a particular want or need for anything that was out here, but he was a bit hungry. "Well...are you hungry, Krasiva? Or do you want to walk more?" Elias rose an eyebrow at her and smiled. He hoped this night would be perfect and end perfectly.

Margaux glanced over to Elias and gave him a small smile. “Let us walk to zese market stalls I keep ‘earing about, to see what is zere,” she suggested, then her grin widened wickedly. “Zen perhaps we can steal away to find a moment alone for ourselves.” Her nails squeezed his side for just a brief second, then returned to normal pressure.
They arrived at the market stalls, and Margaux had to admit there were plenty of options to choose from. Some of the different foods seemed rather messy; she had not spent the time she did getting ready to dirty it up from cheese or sauces dribbling down her front. Still, if anything looked pleasing to Elias, she’d follow him to one of the stalls. It was his night to shine after all; if he wanted a cheese covered sausage, then more power to him. “What looks appetizing to you, mon cher?” she purred demurely.

@margaux <3 "Alright." He smiled at Margaux as they began walking. He hadn't expected all of these different things to be at the Ball. Honestly, Elias just assumed they'd have a dance and that was that. But Hogwarts apparently thought they'd add some extra festivities, and he enjoyed it. Her fingers dug into his side and a small blush rose to his cheeks, but he gave her a small smirk as he looked at her out of the corner of his eye. "I think I'd love that." Elias knew he was the complete opposite of Maria; not so forward, and more chivalrous in what Margaux wanted. He just hoped she wouldn't get bored of him.
There were a bunch of stalls, and as he looked left and right into each one, he bit his lip in thought. He had the same exact thought process as Margaux; he didn't want to get dirty. Eyes narrowing, he nodded his head to a stall a bit further up ahead. "How about some sushi?" Elias had a variety of different foods he enjoyed, and sushi was a personal favorite. If Margaux wasn't up for it, he'd suggest something less raw and more filling.

Margaux giggled flirtatiously and bumped her hip lightly against his. “Bien,” she said, leaning over to press her lips lightly against the side of his forehead. Tossing her hair behind her shoulder, she let him lead her to the different stalls. Though Margaux always claimed to be a picky eater, the reality was everything seemed to look quite edible to her that evening. She’d had sushi plenty of times before of course, so she was pleasantly surprised that Elias’ palette included a liking for the Japanese cuisine. “Zat is perfectly fine for moi,” she told him, nodding in agreement.
She gracefully stepped up to the stall and cleared her throat, requesting silently the attention of the sushi chef. “Bonsoir,” she said, giving him a winning smile and watching delightedly as his face turned a delicate shade of pink. “I would like a roll of spicy tuna, et a roll of spicy salmon for myself,” she ordered, then turned to face Elias. “Et for you mon cher?” she asked, her voice purring with contentment.

@margaux <3 Her giggle rang through his ears and brought a smirk to his face. Elias' eyes shut as she kissed the side of his forehead, and he brought her along the stalls, still arm in arm. Sushi was a broad subject of food, many many items available to eat. Maria, actually, had introduced it to him one summer when they were younger, maybe twelve years old. It had disgusted him at first, but he had eventually found a favorite.
"Dragon rolls and Tako, please." He spoke to the man behind the counter. Margaux had ordered herself, and as it was brought out to them, Elias paid, and grabbed both boxes. "Why don't we go sit?" Elias brought Margaux over to a small corner with some benches and lights hung up with a small fire pit in the center. He smiled to himself, thinking of how Maria would love this, but didn't mention that to Margaux. "Here you are." Elias handed over her food, smiling sheepishly.

Margaux let Elias lead her to the fire pit, thinking to herself how much she would have enjoyed sitting around a fire with Maria as they had done a few times previously. But tonight was about her cousin, and she was not going to allow herself to be distracted by that thought. "Merci," she thanked him, crossing her left leg over her right as she opened the box with her sushi. She felt her stomach rumble lightly and she giggled. "I suppose I am rather 'ungry," she told him casually, tossing her hair behind her shoulder. She obviously didn't just mean sushi but she knew he was a smart boy - he'd get the double meaning. She took up her chopsticks and grabbed one of her pieces of sushi, popping it into her mouth as elegantly as one can when it came to the rolled delicacy. She closed her eyes and sighed happily as she chewed and swallowed. "Tres magnifique," she said, groaning happily. She looked over at his pieces, raising an eyebrow. "May I try a piece of dragon roll?" she asked with a small smirk. @jill6

@margaux <3 Elias sat down next to her and smiled as she thanked him. He wasn't sure how much fun Margaux was having with him, he knew she would probably have much more fun with Maria, but maybe that was just his insecurities speaking. Elias wasn't very self confident, especially when it came to a beautiful girl like Margaux. Elias opened up his own box and began eating, but his eyes widened and he grinned awkwardly. "That's good."
"I'm glad you like it! I wasn't sure if it would be good, but Hogwarts definitely did a great job with the food." Elias ate a few more pieces and watched as the other students walked along the stalls and danced around outside, giggling and happy. He'd admit, he was happy to see all the joy around them. His eyebrows rose when she asked if she could have a piece of his sushi and he nodded, holding out his box of food. "Of course!"
