Fred took his time answering, and Roxy let him. He was relatively vague about how they got to know each other, but she let it slide, because he told her about their meeting. "You... watched trains? Oh my Godric, that's adorable. You're adorable."
She smiled broadly, but her voice had a hint of iron to it. "Good. He'd better stay nice." Maybe she should talk to him at some point, make sure he really was nice. Not a shovel talk, she wasn't classless, but she really just needed to meet him for herself. Ooo, maybe he'd like embarassing stories?

Fred cleared his throat a little when his sister said that he was adorable, a brush creeping onto his cheeks. “Hey. I’m the older one, so you’re not allowed to call me adorable.” He could call her adorable, but not vice versa. It was in the sibling law. (Yes, there totally was a sibling law, and no, it was not something that Fred was composing in his head as he had his conversation with Roxy.)
“Roxy, you do not want to go toe-to-toe with Elias’s version of you.” Fred said, a little tired. He trusted himself to handle Maria, but his little sister? Nope, that was where he drew the line. “She can shoot fireballs from her hands.” And if Roxy tried roughing Elias up for his sake, then she would end up flambéd…and his mother would be pissed at both of them, but mostly Fred.

Fred said she wasn't allowed to call him adorable, and that was rubbish, and she wouldn't stand for it. "Course I can. I just did, didn't I?" She smirked, because she could. Because there was nothing that made her quite so happy as needling her brother - and being needled in return.
"I don't want to go toe-to-toe with anyone. I'm the well-behaved one, remember? I just want to meet him." She filed away the knowledge that there was a Durmstrang student who could produce fireballs from her hands, and was apparently close to Elias Greyback - under 'exercise due caution' and 'investigate further'. Being the well-behaved one still left a fair bit of wiggle room, especially when the standards were Weasleys.
But the boxes were starting to burn low, and it was a little chilly, and she shivered and leaned into Fred.

Roxy said that she had just called him adorable, so obviously it was allowed, and Fred glared at her, huffing a little. That wasn’t how sibling dynamics were supposed to work! It was a shame that Fred actually got along with Roxy, because otherwise he could do what every other sibling pair seemed to do when they didn’t like what the other was doing, and start an argument.
“You’re going to end up going toe-to-toe if you talk to Elias in any tone other than one full of sunshine and rainbows.” Fred warned. Maria had seemed very touchy when it came to the subject of Elias, and if she thought someone was even thinking about harming her cousin, then things could explode – literally.
When Roxy shivered, Fred wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “Ready to go back in?” He suggested as the embers began to smolder. They’d have to put out the fire first, of course, so they didn’t end up accidentally burning the school to the ground, but if Roxy was cold, he was more than happy to depart the courtyard for a warmer climate.

"I'm good at sunshine and rainbows," she retorted. She knew her brother was just looking out for her, but surely Elias's version of her let him talk to other people, or she wouldn't be much like a version of her at all. That would be crazy, and Roxy was not that.
Fred wrapped his arm and around her shoulders, and Roxy readily agreed that inside was a good idea. "Yes, inside. To warmth and hot chocolate." Not that she'd specifically planned for hot chocolate, but she'd thought it and it sounded like a good idea. And the house elves would be happy to make it for them.
She cast an Aguamenti charm and put out the smoldering embers of the boxes. They let out a final poof of smoke, and then she vanished them into nothingness. There was a bit of a mark on the ground, but... eh. It'd be fine.

Fred raised his eyebrows when Roxy said that she was good at sunshine and rainbows. “No offense, Rox, but you can get really intense when you’re talking about things you care about.” And intense wasn’t under the sunshine and rainbows umbrella. Was Fred making an assumption about Roxy caring about him? No, not even, because he knew that he was important to her, and that if things went south, she could get really, really scary. Maybe he was just having too little faith when it came to Roxy being able to control her emotions.
“Hot chocolate?” Fred asked, perking up. He hadn’t known that was on the roster, but he was definitely okay with free food from Hogwarts. That made him eager to leave the courtyard, but apparently Roxy was all about fire safety and making sure that there were no embers, blah blah blah. “C’mon.” Fred whined. “I was promised ambrosia!” Aka Hogwarts hot chocolate.

"Just because I can get intense doesn't mean I can't be all sunshine and rainbows too. I can be intense sunshine and rainbows." And that was not a contradiction in terms. But there wasn't any point denying that she could be intense, because she totally could be.
Fred was ready to go before she'd even Vanished the embers into... wherever Vanished things go. Unsurprising, because ambrosia was a pretty accurate description of Hogwarts hot chocolate. "Well, I'm having hot chocolate. Do you think the house elves will feed wayward alumni?" Since they were Hogwarts house elves, the probability was almost certain, but she said it seriously just to see if Fred would react.

Roxy said that she could be intensely sunshine and rainbows, and Fred snorted. He didn’t doubt that tht was the truth, but he wanted to see the look on Maria’s face if she and Roxy ever met, and the Gryffindor tried to shoot rainbows out of her eyeballs or something like that. Roxy said that she was having hot chocolate, but expressed doubts about the house elves wanting to serve Fred. “I’m not wayward!” Fred protested. “I’m here totally legally! Doing something moderately illegal, but at least I went through security first!” And there was no proof that he had burned the boxes, unless anyone thought to ask why he wasn’t exiting with them. They had been searched, too, so at least he wouldn’t be suspected of anything too nefarious. “And if you don’t get me hot chocolate, I’ll just steal yours.” Fred declared.

Fred was laughing at her assertion that she could be intensely sunshine and rainbows, and Roxy decided that it must have caused some glorious mental image and that he wasn't laughing at the idea of her being, well, herself. She elbowed him anyway.
"The houseelves might not care about that distinction," she retorted, as they headed back to the Entrance Hall, and then down towards the ticklish pear. "And you've always been wayward, momentary observation of rules notwithstanding." She sighed dramatically. "But you're not having mine, so I guess I'll just have to ask for two mugs. Don't say I don't love you."

Fred snorted when Roxy said that the house elves might not care about the lines he was drawing as far as being at the school legally and such. It wasn’t like he had done anything too bad to piss the little buggers off. Yeah, they had been a victim of a prank or two, but so had literally everyone and everything else at the castle, so he didn’t expect any ill will from the elves. “A wayward Weasley?” Fred asked, grinning at his sister and hoping that she would be proud of his impressive alliteration skills. “Yes, that’s true love. Giving me something so I won’t take it from you.” Fred said with a roll of his eyes. That sounded more like common sense – and since Fred didn’t have much of that, if he could pinpoint it, it must’ve been pretty obvious.

"It'll be more surprising when you find a Weasley who's not wayward," she said, biting back her own matching grin. Rose, maybe.
Fred rolled his eyes, and Roxy's grin grew. "Yes, yes it is, and don't you forget it," she said with a grin as they reached the bowl of fruit that lead to the kitchen. She tickled the still-life, and when the painting swung open, lead her favourite wayward Weasley (herself excepted) into the kitchen.
