"Really? That'd be a great idea. Who's the man in charge?"
David didn't even have to think about whether or not he was going to help out. He loved to volunteer and help, and he always loved children. Growing up with his parents had taught him to always be kind and caring, and with the businesses that his parents work in, he was around kids more often than not. So he not only grew up around them, he still felt like a kid at heart. Though it wasn't until today, that he remembered how much fun it was to just drop everything and be a kid. When Rory mentioned that the man in charge could use some helpers, he didn't have to think about it. He didn't want to.

Rory smiled when David seemed so interested. Most people that stopped just donated some cash or something like to the orphans, but what they really needed was attention. It was nice to meet someone who actually wanted to do something to help. "His name is Frederick Cache. If you want I can introduce you. I think he's inside," Rory offered. He knew Freddie wouldn't mind, they were good friends and Freddie loved it when people came to help. Rory turned his attention back to the children, who were still in the middle of an epic snowball fight and it didn't really look like one side was doing better than another. Rory chuckled as he wathed them fondly.
@optimus (ooc: if you want we could tag freddie and work on an intro or we can just leave it here ...)

"Fredrick Cache?" David thought for a moment, "Sure. I'd like to meet him, actually." He smiled at Rory, then turned his attention back to the children. He couldn't help but feel at peace when he watched them play, having fun, completely unaware of the problems that were going on around them. A part of him wished he was still that young and carefree, not working at the ministry, looking at papers and files, wondering when the purifiers were going to strike again. He watched as more snowballs flew, and the children laughed. He looked at the snowman that they were working on when he first arrived, and laughed. The poor thing looked like Quasimodo, chunks of snow were taken off due to the snowballs, while other snowballs seemed to have lodged themselves into it. His scarf was in the somewhere. "I believe our snowman isn't fairing to well." @rory ooc: either way works for me

Rory smiled, "Alright, well I'll introduce you two after we finish here."
Rory turned back to the snowball fight, laughing when David mentioned the snowman. It really was destroyed and, while he knew the children were having fun, he also knew they would be disappointed if it stayed that way. "Hey guys," he said lightly, smiling when the children froze at the sound of his voice. "What have you been doing to Frosty? I think he needs immediate medical attention," he commented, smiling when they moved immediately, picking up snow and trying to put it back together. He watched them for a few seconds and then stepped forward and started to help them put it back together.

"Frosty?" He asked curiously. Never knew a snowman could get a name.
He nodded his head and smiled when Rory mentioned meeting the man after they were done with the kids. He watched as the children stopped their snowball fight and immediately went to work on rebuilding "Frosty". When Rory went to help out, he decided to go over and help, gathering up what snow he could and packing it in places where snow as needed. He also smoothed out areas where the snowballs had impacted, which gave him an idea that only made him smile.
"You know," he said, smoothing out another impacted snowball, "with the way some of these snowballs are, we could give old Frosty some muscle. What do you kids think?"

Rory heard David's curious question from behind him and turned to shrug at the man, his expression saying that he just made it up on the spot. But the children seemed to enjoy the name, so he wasn't going to say anything about it.
He wasn't particularly surprised when David joined them once more, helping build up the snowman. When he started speaking, Rory looked over at the man, a small smile on his face. He wasn't quite sure what to expect, but he did think this would be interesting. When David suggested giving Frosty some muscles, the children cheered in agreement and Rory couldn't keep himself from laughing. He tried to cover it with a fake cough, which he was sure would fool the kids, at least. "Let's do it," he agreed, reaching over and working on it, showing the kids nearest to him how to make it look like their snowman was muscular. After a few moments, he stepped back a little and let them have at it. They were giggling and laughing, obviously enjoying this new thing to do with their snowman. "Nice idea," he muttered to David.

David looked to Rory as he man tried to hide his laugh. The kids didn't seem to notice, but David had done his share of hiding laughter so much, it was easy to tell when someone was doing the same. At first he thought Rory was laughing because the idea seemed silly, or foolish, but when he agreed, David smiled. As Rory worked with some of the kids on one side, David worked with the rest of them, making sure that they knew where to put the "muscles" on their snowy friend. It wasn't long before the kids took over, and pretty much nixed both he and Rory out of the fun.
"Thanks." David said, it was his turn to shrug, "I just thought it up on the spot. No sense starting something over, when you can have fun and try to improve it. Or make it look like Quasimodo by accident."

Rory stood back with David, watching as the children worked on the snowman on their own. They were actually doing a pretty good job at giving Frosty muscles, to his surprise. He thought it would look entirely ridiculous and while the snowman did look a little strange, it wasn't too bad.
Rory laughed, not trying to hide it this time, "It was a good suggestion," he complimented. "You want to go see if we can speak with Frederick about volunteering?" he asked, ready to go in for a few minutes. The children were so focused on their snowman that they would be fine.
