He laughed softly when she giggled. She always made him happy, even just by being around her. When the waiter came by, he saw the little flirting she was giving him. The waiter turned a little red and smiled as he turned away, but a look from Ron, and the smile and redness faded fast. Dom may have had a way with the boys, but Ron always had a way of making sure the boys kept their distance. It's not like he wanted her to be happy, quite the opposite, he just had fun keeping the boys in check, and it wasn't hard when you're one of the wizards who helped battle against Voldemort. Ron waited for the waiter to leave, then looked at Dom and gave her a friendly wink and smile.
"Well, nothing but the usual going on outside. Except that I've been starting to think the shop is haunted. What's been going on on the inside?"

Dom noticed the look Uncle Ron gave the waiter, but she didn't say anything about it. It was nice having someone care enough to do something like that. Not that Dom didn't have people who cared about her, but she appreciated his efforts on her behalf. That didn't mean she was going to stop flirting with the waiter though.
Her smile was a little wider as her uncle winked at her. "The shop is haunted? Why do you think that?" Dom asked curiously, leaning her chin on her hand. "Nothing much on the inside. Just had the Yule Ball and all that drama, which is always interesting, but nothing truly exciting has happened." Which was a shame, though she tried to keep the disappointment out of her tone and expression. Dom loved excitement.

"Just things that've been happening lately. Objects disappearing only to turn up back where I left them, noises and shadows when I'm closing down." he sighed, "Fred things I'm just getting old."
He smiled when she mentioned the Yule Ball. He'd been there once before, and it had to have been one of the worst experience of his life. Everybody was dressed in nice robes and dresses, and there he was, dressed in his old aunts draperies. Thankfully, this time, when he went to the Yule Ball, he was dressed in his own dress robe, and he had asked Hermione to go with him, which he should've done the first time.
"Hogwarts wouldn't be Hogwarts without, at least, a little drama."

Dom's eyebrows creased as Uncle Ron explained what was going on. She didn't like the sound of it either. "Do you have any ideas about what it could be?" She asked, her mind racing about possible options. It could be someone playing a joke, but that would just be rude and she was sure he'd taken precautions against that. What else could it be? A ghost? Or a poltergeist of some kind? She waited to see what he would say before suggesting anything else.
She giggled when he mentioned the need for drama at Hogwarts. "That's very true, but do I seem like the dramatic type to you?" She paused and then added, "Don't answer that." She laughed, "I mean, I can have a flair for that type of thing, but Balls aren't really my place. I went and I had a lot of fun, but I didn't want to have any drama there. I've been pretty drama-free lately." Which was probably due to the fact that she wasn't dating someone. When she was dating people, there always seemed to be plenty of drama to go around, but at the moment Dom had peace in her life. Which might explain why she was constantly searching for ways to stir things up. She looked at her uncle quizzically. "Did you go?" She knew lots of ministry people went, but she hadn't seen him there.

"Well Fred thinks I'm getting old, your Aunt Hermione is wanting to investigate it, and Hugo is planning on looking around the library at Hogwarts for what it might be." He said, shaking his head, "Though I hope he doesn't plan on going to the restricted section."
The waiter came back with their order, and Ron tucked right in. He always enjoyed eating, but especially when it came to eating with company. He stopped and looked at Dom when she asked if she was the dramatic type, then laughed with her when she told him not to answer. He wouldn't answer for two reasons. One, there was food in his mouth, and two, there really wasn't a need for him to answer. He smiled and nodded his head when she asked if he went there.
"Yeah I did. I spent more time hanging with Harry and your Aunt than I did actual dancing."

Her eyebrows furrowed a little, "So Fred hasn't noticed anything then," she commented lowly as she started eating her soup. Then she gave a small chuckle. "Are you saying you don't want him to go to the restricted section? I thought you'd be proud of him for that." She smiled and then added, "Don't worry. I'll see if Hugo and I can look into it together and I'll keep him in line ... or at least get a permission slip before going into the restricted section."
Dom let her mouth fall open in a fake expression of shock. "You mean you came and you didn't look for me? I thought you'd at least want a dance with your favorite niece." She wasn't really offended, but it was the perfect opportunity to tease Uncle Ron and she was going to take it.

"No, he hasn't. Which is a little sad, since his dad is one of the biggest pranksters I've ever met. I'd think he'd be more happy to be working there." He gave her a small smile when she mentioned the restricted section, "I'm his father. I wouldn't want him doing anything that could get him hurt or expelled. But, what I don't know can't do any harm right?"
He gave her a wink at that last comment. He knew that if Hugo was really his son, which was proven on several occasions, that he'd want to do everything he can to help. And if that meant going into the restricted section of the library, well what could Ron do? When Dominique mimicked shock at the fact that he was at the dance and not looking for her. He did what any grown person would do in response. He stuck his tongue out at her.
"Hey you could've just as easily came looking for me, you know."

Dom shrugged, "Well maybe you just are more observant than he is?" That probably wasn't any sort of a consolation to him, but she really didn't know what else to say. Then she laughed at Uncle Ron's comment about Hugo. "Whatever. You can't tell me that after all the things you did in school you wouldn't be proud of him for acting out a little bit, even if you find out about it. But don't worry I'll keep him out of too much trouble." Dom winked at her uncle confidentially.
He stuck out his tongue and Dom laughed. "I didn't know you were there! Come on, you had to know that I would be there. All the students were there." She sniffed a little, pretending to be upset. "I can't believe you didn't even think of me," Dom sipped a little more soup, still acting offended.

"Observant? We are talking about me, right?" Ron raised a brow as he asked, but couldn't help the laugh when she mentioned keeping Hugo out of too much trouble, "Right. I'm sure that if he's my son, which he is, you keeping him out of trouble will work just as well as me keeping Harry from getting into danger."
He smiled as he reminisced about the many adventures that he, Harry, and Hermione went on. He had to admit that, after Hogwarts, life just wasn't all that exciting. However, once the purifiers rose to power, he wanted to make sure that he didn't get involved again. Facing them would mean he'd have to face the same dangers he did when he was in Hogwarts. He would rather keep that life in the past where it belonged. He smiled when she tried to pull her pouting routine.
"You and I both know that I would've looked for you in a heartbeat. I was just having too much fun being around your aunt and Harry. It's been a few years since the three of us were at a yule ball together."

She laughed as Uncle Ron made a joke directed at himself, then persisted. "But if you noticed something that he hasn't ... then you would be more observant, logically speaking." And that was that. It was fact. She grinned and shrugged, "Alright so maybe I'll fan the flame and we'll both get into more trouble, but at least he won't be doing it alone," would that make it better? Dom wasn't sure, but she was totally willing to help Hugo. After all, she knew the Library better than most people did.
Dom continued her pouting, just a little. It was too much fun to tease Uncle Ron. Besides the fact that she was confident he wouldn't take her seriously, he was a good sport. "But you didn't. Of course I was there, I'm a student. And now I missed the chance to dance with my favorite Uncle. You could've given me five minutes, couldn't you?" Now she was just fishing for an opportunity to dance another time. She wasn't sure if her uncle would catch on that or not. If not ... she might just be blunt with it. Until then, she'd tease him.

"I knew I could count on you." he said with a playful wink.
The waiter came by with their order, and he smiled at Dominique, but then shied away once Ron gave him another look. He knew the kid thought that Ron was her mother, but Ron was just there to make sure that boys stayed away from her. Somebody had to watch out for his niece when her dad wasn't around, right? When she continued her pouting routine, Ron couldn't help but roll his eyes with a smile. Hermione and all the other women in his family did this when they wanted something. And as much as the men tried to deny it, they always ended up succumbing to it instead.
"I'll tell you what." he said, "The next time there's a dance, and I'm able to make it, I'll be sure to track you down for a dance. Deal?"

"Always," Dom grinned back at her uncle before really starting to focus on her food. When the waiter brought it back, she grinned at him and he just lit up, until he looked over at Uncle Ron. Dom waited until he walked away before she giggled. "What did the poor boy ever do to you, Uncle?" She asked, still smiling. She wasn't annoyed, but she loved the chance to tease, no matter who it was.
"Deal!" Dom extended her hand across the table, waiting for her uncle to shake on it, sealing their deal more firmly. "I'll expect you to dance with me next time .... well, if I'm being honest, I expect you to dance with me every time, but I guess I'll settle for starting with just next time." Dom gave a dramatic sigh and then winked at him.
