Olivia chuckled with him. She didn't have a bucket list, at least, not a physical one. There's things that she has thought of or told other people that she'd like to do before her death becomes her, but it wasn't something she always thought about. So it was surprising for Lance to be so set on it. But Olivia also thought that may have to do with the fact that he's had a lot of trauma and heartbreak in his life. That was something Olivia, fortunately, didn't have a lot of experience with. "No, not at all! And the more we practice, the better you'll be. No feet stomping."
Lance seemed to not want to share his own emotions or feelings, and Olivia suspected that had to do a lot with his little sister. "You're allowed to be scared, Lance. You're allowed to feel, and have emotions, and be sad and talk about them." Olivia's voice was gentle, her hands still on his shoulders. "And if you can't go to your sister, or anyone, I want you to know I'm always here to listen. I care about you, Lance." She did. He'd gone through a lot, and was taking even more on his own shoulders to make sure his sister was okay. Which was understandable, but could get to the point where it was unhealthy. Olivia didn't want to see him that way.

@jill15 Practice made perfect after all. That was something he had repeated numerous times when it came to studying. Perfectly average was the result, but he was content with that. Everyone had always given him and Georgie the benefit of the doubt because they were orphans and were from a different country, etcetera, and etcetera. That spiel had gotten old with him fast, and people deciding that he didn’t have to do better because it wasn’t expected under his circumstances was kind of annoying. Lance was happy with standard grades. Dancing seemed to be different though. He found himself wanting to be better, so that he could receive the acknowledgement that he was putting in effort and it was making a difference. He had never taken himself as the kind that needed constant validation, but lately that had been taking hold a lot. It was necessary that he got it through something. “I’m starting to like dancing more. It’s freeing.” Lance pointed out. That and music. They both had a similar effect of letting him let go of whatever was bugging him. Then again, that’s what entertainment was for, wasn’t it? He knew he had emotions, but they weren’t the ones that he wanted to have right now. The normal calm and level-headedness that he typically had was gone; replaced by anger at his mother. People kept telling him that was fine to be that way, but he didn’t want to. And yet it also wouldn’t go away. “I’m just tired of it all. I think,” he let out with a sigh. “I want to move on, but I can’t because Barbara is still around. She doesn’t understand what it’s like to have it taken all away, then have it given back just to do the same thing again. I’ve told her that, but,” he shrugged, “but it doesn’t click still with her.” It was annoying more than anything. All he wanted was to return to how things were before they came back. At least then he and Georgie wouldn’t have to go through all of this again. “And thank you. As long as you don’t mind me ramblin’ on about how awful Barbara is,” he said with a small laugh. [OOC: one more each?]

"Oh good! Dancing is fun! I enjoy it at least." Olivia laughed. There was always something Olivia enjoyed, and with all her hobbies, dancing did happen to be one of them. She knew a lot of people who didn't have many hobbies outside of one or two things, but Olivia couldn't imagine that. She was always so busy, and if her schoolwork and studying was done, she was either practicing on her ukulele, or her karate, or any of the many other things she enjoyed to do. "Feeling free is always a plus. It means you really do like it."
Olivia nodded. "I'm sure you are tired of it, and that's not a bad thing. You've been through a lot Lance, a lot more that many others couldn't imagine. And the fact that everything you've worked so hard to overcome has come right back to you isn't fair." She wasn't going to tell him how to speak to his mother about these things, but the most she could do is give her honest opinion. "I think if you're happier without her, then you should tell her. Because keeping her in your life just to please others will never make you happy in the long run." Lance's laugh made her smile, and Olivia nodded. "You can ramble on about how awful anyone is, and I'd still love to listen."

@jill15 “Like, it lets me forget things for a little bit.” Lance tacked on. “Maybe it’s keeping up with the music. I don’t know. It helps though.” He had found over the years that shacking up in the music store in Hogsmeade during trips had helped him with a lot. Mostly personal stuff that he didn’t talk about around others because it wasn’t any of their business. That went for both Georgie and Ripley as well. Some things were better off kept in his head, and that was probably why this recent situation had exploded beyond his control. He had to talk about his father’s death, and his feelings towards Barbara. They were unavoidable at this point, no matter how hard he tried. Now he understood that he simply had to accept them and move on. What he said and felt was true to himself, and hiding from that wasn’t going to help him at all. “If I was any good at flying on a broom, maybe that would work too. Heard it does wonders…” Everyone had their own escape, and for now, it seemed like music and dancing were his. He agreed with that. It wasn’t fair that Barbara came back like nothing had changed. But he had accepted the fact that she wasn’t going to change, because she didn’t know how to. He did. “It’s not necessarily that I don’t want her in my life, more so that I want her to understand what she did to me and Georgie. She’s partially aware, mostly from what we’ve told her, but there’s still something missing.” He hesitated, thinking about it a little further. “I don’t know. Maybe moving on and not letting her is smart. Maybe I want to fix something that is broken too much. I just won’t know until I try, I guess.” That made a sense to him a little bit. Talking about things always helped him work through his thoughts, even if one conflicted the next. “Well, I’ll come back to you if I have anything else to complain about then. Just a warning in advance.” Lance gave her one last smile before waving goodbye. He still needed to think all of that over more. [Lance End]
