Tania knew that she needed to spend more time practicing. Even with the Triwizard Tournament going on, she still had to keep her career goals in sight, though it was becoming a little embarrassing that Irina's form in this match—which didn't count for anything—had been consistently better than her own.
It would be alright, though, she thought. Jamie was working to intercept the Quaffle from Gryffindor after Ripley had dropped it, though Jayden was successful in his pass to Roxy.
Just as Tatiana prepared herself to go after the Bludger so that she might knock the Quaffle out of Roxy's hands, she felt a few drops of water hitting her head. She looked up. There were storm clouds rolling in. She had played more difficult matches in the rain before, but lightning and wooden broomsticks didn't mix.
“Should we land?” she called to the others. “I think I heard thunder not long ago…”

Irina shook her head quickly as the next raindrop landed right in her eye. "Oi," she exclaimed, tucking the bat under her arm as more drops began to fall. A bright light flashed in front of them and the thunder rumbled loudly. "I agree with Tania, let's get down before someones broom turns into kindling," she called, streaking down towards the ground as more fat raindrops splattered on the grass. Irina pulled her hood up over her hair, and threw her arm around Ripley. "Come on kid, let's take me to the Hospital Wing to see if Tania here broke any of my fingers," she suggested, throwing her baby sister a teasing grin. She didn't think that her fingers were broken of course, but better safe than sorry. @tatiana @ripley @jamie @henry @roxanne

What had started as just a few raindrops was quickly turning into a torrential downpour, and Jamie was more than happy to land her broom - but someone had to put the Bludger back. Since both of the game's Beaters had already landed, Jamie decided that wrangling the thing would be her responsibility. It wasn't difficult - now that she was one of the only targets in the air and no one to divert its course, the ball was zipping dangerously close to her at intervals of only a few seconds. Jamie waited patiently for a good opportunity to catch it. It came when the ball launched itself right at her stomach. Jamie grabbed the Bludger close to her in a bear hug, using her thighs only to guide her broom to the ground. It was difficult to do, especially in the rain, but Jamie didn't want to get in trouble with the flying professor because she had left one of the Bludgers out to rest. Once she was on the ground, Jamie managed to grab her wand from her pocket, and cast the appropriate spell to cause the Bludger to stop doing what it did. Sighing in relief, Jamie wiped the rain out of her eyes, turning her face up towards the sky to make sure all of the players got down safely.

Thunder rolled across the sky, and rain drops came down fat and hard. And while that would mean nothing for a proper match, it was definitely the end of their pickup game.
But Roxy would be damned if she didn't get a goal through the hoop today, and she was going to end up soaked regardless. So as most of the group headed for the ground, she picked up her pace and threw the Quaffle neatly through the hoop - and then swooped around to catch it and bring it back down to the gear trunk. There. It didn't count for points, but she felt better now.

Jamie was watching the field, waiting for everyone to get down from their brooms, and she smirked a little as she saw Roxy streak towards the goal hoop, tossing the Quaffle and then catching it before it could hit the muddy ground. Jamie’s smirk turned into a bit of a teasing smile when the other girl came to the gear trunk with the Quaffle. “Had to end it with a tie?” Jamie teased. She knew that no one was going to count the goal, since half of the players were grounded when it happened, but it was still fun to joke about tying – even though Hufflepuff had clearly won. With all of the balls safely in the trunk, Jamie cast a Hover Charm on it to prepare for movement back into the locker rooms as she made sure everyone was on their way off the field.
