Asa normally spent their time at Hogsmeade with Lucy. It was hard when they only got to see their girlfriend once a month, but there were certain sacrifices that one needed to make for their family, and this was one of them. Asa had heard something about Louis going on Hogsmeade visits with his girlfriend, and they didn't need to wait for Hogsmeade visits to see Victoire, so naturally the family member Asa was speaking of was Dominique. Of all of their cousins, Asa had to admit that they related to Dominique the least. Even though they were technically closer in age to Dom than Victoire, since becoming an adult, Asa had thought themself more similar to the eldest of their cousins. And of course they related to Louis by virtue of the fact that they were both Gryffindors, leaving Dom somewhat left in the dark. Asa knew that Dominique enjoyed puzzles, though, and thus had brought Dominique's Christmas gift with them to the village, hoping that if their cousin was distracted by the puzzle box it would be easier to talk about everything. Asa was waiting on a bench for Dominique to walk by, a brightly wrapped box sitting on their lap as they watched and waited.

Surprisingly, Dom didn't have any plans this time at Hogsmeade. She was just going to see what happened and hopefully find something fun to do in the process. As she walked to the village among a crowd of people, Dom kept to herself a little bit. One of these days she'd be leaving Hogwarts with Vic for a few days and while she was excited for the chance to spend time with her sister, Dom was extremely nervous. In their owls, Vic talked about making Dom talk about all the feelings she bottled inside and she wasn't sure if she was ready to do that or not. Still, she tried to pull her thoughts away from that right now. She was going to have a fun day in Hogsmeade and needed to be more cheerful. As she entered the village, she saw a familiar face. Asa? What were they doing here? She walked up to them, a smile on her face. "Hey Asa. What brings you to Hogsmead?" She and her cousin had never been particularly close, but that didn't make Dom feel uncomfortable just walking up and talking to them. They were still family, after all.

Luckily, Dominique was the only one of Asa’s cousins who had inherited the famous ginger hair of the Weasleys, so she was easy to spot in a crowd. Apparently Dom had seen them, too, because she was making a beeline towards Asa. When Dominique reached them, she asked what brought Asa to Hogsmeade, and the Gryffindor smiled. “You, actually.” Asa thrust the gift out to Dominique somewhat awkwardly. “You might have noticed that you didn’t get a Christmas present from me this year.” Then again, Dom might not have been expecting one, considering that this was the first year Asa was gifting things on their own and not as a part of their parents’ family unit. Asa had given Victoire and Louis gifts too, of course, but neither of them had spent Christmas at Hogwarts like Dom had. “It’s kind of delicate, and I didn’t want it to get accidentally damaged if I sent it by owl.” Asa explained. The puzzle box wasn’t delicate in the sense that it was made of flimsy materials, but it had a lot of complex moving parts, and Asa was worried that knocking even one gear out of place would make the puzzle impossible to solve, which wouldn’t be any fun.

When Asa said she was the reason they came to Hogsmeade, Dom grinned. She and Asa had never been particularly close, so it was a nice gesture that they would come here just for her. Then they gave her a present and Dom squealed a little in excitement, sitting down next to them on the bench. "You got me a present!" She said with a wide smile. Of course, she hadn't noticed. Dom didn't really pay attention to who gave her gifts, except to thank them after. She much more enjoyed giving gifts than receiving them. "Thank you," Dom said when they explained why they delivered it in person. She almost asked if she could open it now, and then just decided to do that. She tore the paper off and her mouth fell open slightly as she looked at the gift. It was a puzzle box. A small smile formed on her face as she looked at it more closely. "Thank you Asa!" She exclaimed her gratitude once more, this time reaching over to give them a big hug. It seemed like she now had something to entertain her that might keep her indoors sometimes. It definitely wouldn't replace all of her walks outside, but Dom loved puzzles, so she would definitely be using this.
