jake wasn't looking forward to going home to show odette what he'd brought. now they'd found out they were going to have a son he couldn't seem to stop buying all the boy baby stuff he could. there wasn't all that much time left before they'd be chasing around a little person. he grinned at the thought, the bag that was fuller than it looked in his hand as he stood at the counter trying to work out what he wanted to eat. he hadn't planned on stopping for lunch but the hunger was getting to him and he threw caution to the wind and decided to buy something. he'd pick something up for odette to take it back to her. he made his choice and took the plate from the server behind the counter and moved to sit down at one of the tables to eat.

It was the middle of the day and Logan was looking around for somewhere he could get some lunch. He had the day off, so he'd spent most of it wandering around and finding people to talk to. It was one of his favorite things to do, collect people. Most people underestimated the power of friendship, but Logan had so many people that liked him, that considered him friends, that he could almost always find someone who was willing to help him if he needed it. He also always had someone to help ward off the boredom. He walked into a shop and ordered something, teasing and smiling at the girl who took her order, who giggled and blushed in response. Once he got his food, Logan turned around and grinned at who he saw. "Jake?" He exclaimed as he moved across the room to his old school friend. "What are you doing here? I haven't seen you in ages!" He sat down at the same table as his friend, sure that if Jake was waiting for someone else, he'd say something. But even just a few minutes was worth spending time with him.

"Jake? What are you doing here? I haven't seen you in ages!" jake lifted his head as he heard a familiar voice and he grinned when he saw it came from a familiar face. he'd been friends with logan in school, good friends but then when he'd graduated, like most of his friends besides teddy, he had drifted from them as work became tougher and took up more of his time and then he'd been taken into the hit wizard squad it had become a good hectic. "i've been hiding in the ministry!" jake said with a grin as logan sat down. "where have you been hiding?" he said as he pushed the empty plate to the side of the table and let his arms rest against the table they were sitting at.

Jake was grinning when he saw Logan, who was just happy to see his friend. It had been so long since they last caught up and he was looking forward to this run-in with his best friend. His smile widened at Jake's question. "I've been hiding in the ministry too, man," Logan told him, shaking his head as he did so. "With the invisibility task force. What have you been doing there?" Hopefully Jake wasn't about to say he was an Unspeakable. That would just make the conversation boring and give them nothing to talk about. Not that Logan had a hard time coming up with things to talk about normally. "What else is going on with you?" Logan asked casually. He hadn't seen his friend in ages and it was natural to be curious, right?

"I've been hiding in the ministry too, man, With the invisibility task force. What have you been doing there?" jake shrugged his shoulders slightly as he leaned his arms down on the table in front of him, crossing them over while he did. he hadn't known logan worked at the ministry, he'd seen him in the lobby once or twice while rushing between jobs or between the office of the minister and the hit wizards so he'd never really had the time to catch up with him. which was what was happening with a lot of his friends right now, but that was life. you grew up, got busy and things shifted. "i've been keeping busy with the hit wizards." he said as he lifted his hand to rest his chin on it. there was a few more developments in his life but he still wasn't sharing that with everyone, so far he was pretty sure only his brothers, parents and odette's family knew about the baby and until he spoke to odette about it specifically that was the way it was going to stay. "catching bad guys and just being all around awesome." he said with a grin, joking though without a hint of smug or ego in his voice. that wasn't his style, he was just a joker.

Logan smiled as his friend explained what he did in the ministry. "That's cool. I thought about looking into being a hit wizard," he commented lightly. Then he'd heard about the invisibility task force and his mind had been made up for him. That was totally Logan's smile. Then he laughed at Jake's comment. "I don't doubt that. You've always been pretty awesome. That's why we've always been such good friends." Joking around like this with his friend was always what Logan did and he enjoyed that he and Jacob were so comfortable with one another that they could do it, just talk and be friends.

"That's cool. I thought about looking into being a hit wizard," he hadn't known that. it would have been awesome to have someone like logan on the team of hit wizards but if he was happy with his job then that was better. loving your job was a pretty important part of having one. he knew he wouldn't change his job for the world, though there was something about to enter his life that might make him think twice when he was out on a mission or doing something with the order but it wouldn't stop him. he was more determined to make the world a safe place for the son he and odette would be bringing up in the world soon. "I don't doubt that. You've always been pretty awesome. That's why we've always been such good friends." he rolled his eyes slightly and smirked a little, raising his hands from his sides. "dude, i am the most awesome. that's always been a given." he said, joking as he leaned his arms on the table again and grinned. "so what's happening in the world of hartridge, how's your sister?"

Logan laughed and then shook his head when his old friend said that he was the best. "Wait a second there, man. I think you mean to say that we are the most awesome. That's how it's been from Hogwarts and even though we're not as close as we were then, I'm positive that it still counts." He chuckled a little more and then leaned back against the seat behind him when Jacob asked about his sister. "Em's good. She's doing a lot of work with the Triwizard Tournament and interviewing people and such. A while ago she was dating some guy- a Lloyd, I think- but they're broken up now. And I'm single, as always. What about you? What's going on in your life?" Hopefully Jacob had more to report than Logan did.
