It was the middle of the day and Logan had no idea why he was supposed to be in the middle of the street in Horizon Alley, but those were the instructions he was given, so he was following them. He was interested to see how Elaine was planning on greeting him in such a crowded area, but she probably chose it just to prove she could. Not that she had anything to prove when it came to Logan. He trusted her completely to give him interesting jobs to do, ways to spend his time that he could appreciate. She'd already given him plenty of names to investigate. Some of them he'd looked into himself, others he'd asked for help from his sister with. Of course, Emily had no idea she was helping Elaine Dupree, but Logan didn't mind that. He didn't need to tell his little sister everything, after all. She hadn't noticed which side he was on yet, despite her perceptiveness. So that was on her. Elaine Lyra Dupree

Elaine wore the guise of Isolde today; it had been thanks to Logan of course that he had found someone so...easily missed in the Ministry, specifically in the Department of International Magic Cooperation. Isolde had access to Tournament information, which Elaine found very useful. Part of the reason she'd called for Logan to meet her today was of course to show off her new disguise; sure Elaine trusted no one but herself, but that didn't mean she didn't appreciate her followers. Logan was a newcomer, and had already proven to be quite valuable to her, moreso than some of her more seasoned members. The other reason though stemmed from his twin sister, Emily. She was a reporter for the Daily Prophet who had access to quite a bit more information than anyone at the Ministry could be privy to; she knew Logan had not exactly told his sister for whom the information was for of course, but that was to be expected. Elaine appreciated the secrecy and discreetness in which Logan performed his duties.
She spotted him waiting at their arranged spot, and swept up to him. "Logan Hartridge!" she exclaimed loudly, putting on the airs of someone excited to see her coworker. Logan had told her that Isolde could come off a bit...desperate for affection sometimes; she was a lonely woman, and Elaine had seen that during her brainwash torture. "What do you think?" she asked, her voice far lower so they couldn't be overheard. Pretending to be enjoying a stroll with the Ministry worker, she fell into step beside him. "How is your sister?" she asked him, knowing he'd know what she really wanted to hear about Emily.

Logan paused momentarily when he was greeted by Isolde. Why would she be ... then he saw something different was about her and knew. This was Elaine. He grinned wryly. "Isolde! It's been too long. We should catch up," he said, touching her elbow so he could lead her out of the middle of the crowded street. If that was what she wanted, of course. Still, he had complete confidence that if Elaine wanted anything other than what he was doing, she would inform him immediately. "Great disguise," he muttered under his breath, so only she could hear it. Then he spoke in a more normal tone. "Emily is doing well. She keeps on asking if I need any more favors. She hasn't asked why I want the information either. I think she finds it challenging, discovering these small tidbits for me. Are you finding them useful?" If not, he was more than willing to try tactics to discover more important pieces of information for Elaine. Elaine Lyra Dupree

Elaine smiled with what she assumed was a simpering stance; if she had seen the look on her own visage she would have probably vomited twice already. Still, she'd have to be blind to not recognize that Logan was a good-looking man; she had already noticed several women glance over, trying to catch his eye. She threw them all a smirk for fun, then turned her attention back to Logan. "Your sister is eager to be a part of something she really doesn't know what it's all about. A typical journalist," she commented, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. A fresh curiosity and eager desire to learn were great qualities to have in Logan's twins' profession, just as long as she didn't go digging too deep into what Logan wanted the information for. Or more importantly, who. "You will tell me the moment she starts asking the wrong sort of questions, won't you?" she asked him, looking directly at him. The earlier they were able to catch the girls' curiosity the better. Elaine liked Logan and found him and his twin incredibly useful. She hoped that one day the girl would be proud to work for her and not a shadow in the night.

Logan shook his head slightly, keeping a smile on his face. He knew how important image was, especially when one was being watched and he and Elaine were definitely being watched at the moment. "My sister is eager to do anything that is a challenge to her, anything interesting," he informed Elaine. At the moment he wasn't quite sure if Emily cared what she was doing, as long as she was entertained by it. He nodded, "Of course. You will be informed at once." Logan wasn't quite sure why he was speaking so formally, but he was. At least he doubted Elaine would mind that. "Do you have anything new you would like me to do?" he asked curiously. Elaine nodded, a smile playing at her lips. To outsiders it would appear that this woman, Isolde, was flirting with Logan, but this was just an illusion. Nobody seemed to give her much of a second glance, which meant that Isolde was proving her worth. “I am happy to hear of it, it is very valuable to have someone of such an...investigative nature on our side,” she said as they continued to walk. Too investigative would get Emily into trouble but...they’d cross that bridge if they came for it. “I am glad you asked,” Elaine said, her smile widening and making her jaw muscles ache a little. Elaine was not one for smiling too much too often; she had indeed been told that when she smiled it actually terrified most people. Perhaps she should smile more. “We still have Nate in the Department of Magical Transportation on our side, but his loyalty...well let’s just say it concerns me from time to time. I think its’ about time we made his loyalty more solid, don’t you?” she asked, sounding innocent though what she was suggesting was anything but.

Logan loved playing games like this. He laughed a little as he listened to Elaine, just in case people were paying close attention to the two of them. "Don't worry about my sister. I'll work with her slowly, but if she learns too much too quickly I'll come to you." Honestly, his plan with Elaine was to recruit his sister, but the main concern was patience. This wasn't something they could rush into. At Elaine's next comment however, Logan's smile widened. "Of course. What type of our methods do you want me to implement?" Of course, he was willing to do whatever Elaine required, but he didn't want to overstep his bounds or do less than she wanted. Elaine Lyra Dupree

Elaine nodded, allowing Logan to move along from the subject of his sister. She had faith in him, faith that he passionately believed in the cause they were championing, and if it was absolutely necessary, would put it over family. Elaine was positive it would not come to that, but she had to be prepared for every scenario possible, especially after Desiraes' death.
Ah, a topic they could both talk about enjoyable. Elaine's smile widened as he gladly accepted her task, and asked how to implement. "Oh I'm sure you don't need instruction from me in that area," she said playfully, batting his arm lightly. "Just don't kill him," she added in an undertone, then smiled again. "Be sure he can show up to work after....a few days with the flu, shall we say?" she purred.

Logan laughed loudly when she said he didn't need instruction. She was aware of his familiarity with such tactics and he was pleased with her decision to let him handle it as he saw fit. His eyebrows rose playfully at her one stipulation. "That I can do," he agreed to her terms easily, of course. "Oh, don't you worry. Our friend is definitely going to get an intense bout of the flu." He liked Elaine's strategies. Logan was fully aware that he only knew a piece of the puzzle, but he also didn't care. The fact that he was in on something like this was enough to satisfy him. Elaine's own smile widened to a cheshire like grin; on Isolde it looked a little insane she expected, but really she was just more than pleased that Logan had turned out to be such a viable asset to her. Good, loyal minions...people, Elaine had to retrain herself to think of her followers as people rather than minions. "A bout of the flu sounds quite dreadful, but managable I expect," she told Logan reasonably, continuing to walk. "Any sort of...physical signs of the affliction should be hidden under clothing too, don't you think?" she asked, laughing a little bit. They walked in silence for a few minutes more, Elaine debating inwardly on her next step. "I am having a guest for dinner in a weeks time, give or take a few days. Would you like to join me? She's been awful down and she really needs a friend. Someone to...protect her, make her see who she can truly trust?" she asked, feigning her innocence.

Logan nodded, glad that Elaine approved his methods. Heck, he was glad that she gave him things to do. Before joining her, his life was mundane, boring, but now he found great pleasure in doing as she asked. "Of course. Wouldn't want anyone to see what type of flu," he answered with a wicked gleam. He walked with Elaine for a while longer, wondering if she had anything else for him to do or not. He wasn't sure, but he was willing to wait if necessary. He smiled at her invitation. "I would love to join you," he confirmed without a doubt. "Will I be receiving an owl about the date and location?" Elaine Lyra Dupree

Elaine beamed at Logan’s acceptance of her invitation. “I knew you’d think it was far too good of an opportunity to turn down,” she said, making her voice drizzle with enthusiasm. In reality Elaine was far too apathetic to muster such enthusiasm, but she knew that Isolde had her weird reputation to maintain as to not garner suspicion. Besides, anyone could be listening in; perhaps Elaine was being paranoid, but with Desirae’s death at the hands of the Aurors, she was not taking any chances. “But my dear Logan, you already have the invitation,” she purred, glancing down at his pocket. She knew inside a small piece of paper had materialized with the date and time of the little dinner gathering written down on it. “Don’t be late,” she warned, wagging a finger at him but smiling all the same. They continued to walk, and Elaine bought a coffee from a stand. “Do you have anything else for me?” she asked him, not entirely expecting too much more to report, but wanting to check all the same.

Logan's smile turned into a smirk. It was very entertaining seeing Elaine so enthusiastic. He knew she was putting on a face, keeping character, but he still found it funny. Not that he would ever tell her that. There was no guarantee on how she would react. He nodded when she said she knew he wouldn't turn down the invitation and then his hand went straight to his pocket at her next comment. He smiled when he felt a paper there inside. "I will definitely be there on time," he reassured her, though she already knew that. Then he shook his head, "Nothing to discuss at the moment, my lady. Maybe I will have more for you at our dinner."(End?) Elaine Lyra Dupree

Elaine enjoyed seeing how much Logan enjoyed the idea of her kind of fun; it was good to see the same spirit she held in herself in others. So many of her others were so young, so eager. But so inexperienced in the world of adults, Elaine could see that now. She needed people like Logan and Anotnia, people who had well established connections within the Wizarding World, to further her cause. The world wouldn't see her coming, but when they finally did they wouldn't be able to look away. "Then until we meet again Mr Hartridge," she said. She gave him a faux cheeery wave before setting off into the setting sun on her way home.
