Viola rolled their eyes when Brandon muttered an ‘if you say so’. He wasn’t that easily offended, because Viola definitely wouldn’t have been friends with him if he was. Easily offended people couldn’t take their sharp tongue and strange sense of humor. Brandon said that his next performance was going to be the theme song from a Muggle movie, and Viola was intrigued. They knew some stuff about Muggle movies – mostly movies that were based on or related to musicals, if they were honest – and they were curious to see whether or not they knew the song that Brandon was going to play. He asked if they wanted to hear it on the violin or piano, and Viola pondered a moment. “Pianos are boring. Give me the violin, music boy.” They said, still grinning widely at Brandon. Music boy. That wasn’t a bad nickname, and since Brandon wasn’t easy to make diminutives of… Viola had a feeling they had just stumbled upon something to annoy Brandon with in the coming days, or weeks, or months – or however long it took for him to get sick of it.

Brandon rolled his eyes when Viola said that pianos were boring. They could think that all they wanted, but the piano was his favorite instrument. Maybe that was because he started playing around with music on a piano ... either way, he moved over to the violin and picked it up. The song he was going to play sounded very good on the violin anyway, so he hoped Viola would be pleased by it. "Here you go," he said easily as he started sliding the bow across the strings. He was playing the theme song to a very popular movie. At least, it used to be popular. His mothers owned all the DVDs of it, anyway. Pirates of the Caribbean. The song was exciting, musically. He liked the rhythms and tones and smiled as he played. Once he was done he looked over at his friend. "That good enough for you?" he teased. Then his stomach rumbled and he put the violin down and looked at Viola. Was that loud enough for them to hear? He chuckled, "I think it's time for me to go and see what's for dinner," he said. "You can join me if you want."

Viola listened intently when Brandon began playing on the violin. They had expected it to be difficult to guess what movie’s theme he was playing, but only a few notes in Viola was smiling and humming along. Pirates of the Caribbean was definitely a good movie series… though they could have done with one or two fewer movies. At the end of the song, Viola applauded again, loudly (albeit less enthusiastically than they had when Brandon had played Gwen Stefani). “Everything you play will be good enough for me, my music boy.” Viola teased. They were so fond of Brandon that they would consider holding their tongue if he ever played poorly. Brandon’s stomach rumbled, loudly, and Viola laughed. “Yeah, let’s go get some dinner.” They agreed easily, leading the pair to the door to the Room of Requirement so they could get something to eat.
